Summary
Without any mutant powers, or any special weapons, you were just some girl. For this, you didn't understand why you were wanted to become part of some mob. There were so many others who had the capabilities to do what you did without needing to take the time you did to learn it. Sure, it was payment from the debt your family had owed to Rigoletto. And it seemed that this new leader would continue this payment out to the end. However long that would be. But that doesn't mean you won't do what you want outside of it, even if it means an unethical relationship.

For days since it happened you had begged Bee to respond to you, you had begged him for an answer to tell you something. But he never did. He didn't even seem to read your messages and they slowly grew more and more desperate each time. You pleaded with him to just tell you if it was you who did something wrong, if you were the issue. But he never answered.

For that, you remained in bed for days, sulking. You cried every so often, heart hurting with the realization that you gave so much to someone who gave it all away for no reason. Karen tried to get through to you, she truly did, but she couldn't. Foggy did as well, offered to drink the eel with you, but that sent you spiraling.

Even Matt had come over for a little to try and get you out of your room. He had offered to make you dinner, wanted to try and help you figure out what you were feeling and help you get through everything. You didn't let him in.

Finally you left your room, after days of only leaving when everyone was gone or asleep, just to go to work.

Leaving the shower, you looked at yourself in the mirror. You looked exhausted, bags deep under your eyes and your eyes were rimmed with red, obviously having cried. They were puffy, too. You put on rash guards and walked out, sneaking into the kitchen and filling your water. You grabbed your phone off your bed and looked at it, freezing while you stared at the screen, no notifications. He usually would message you throughout the day, but no. Not anymore.

Swallowing through your tightening throat, you walked out to put your shoes on, seeing Karen and Foggy's pitiful faces, making you duck and nearly sprint out the door. You walked to your car and threw everything in, the events from the last few weeks playing through your mind. It felt like a day or so had passed since everything had happened. You put the car in drive.

It was nearing 6 and you were preparing to leave when a huge group of people walked in. You looked up, freezing when you saw Wesley. You both stared at each other, he seemed beyond shocked. He had to get ushered forward for a moment and your brows furrowed. He was staring at you but not like usual. His face was pale and he appeared lost for a moment. How long had it been seen he had contacted you? And he had told you that he would be coming forward with more information about your next hit attempt on Rigoletto. He had just gone silent, as had the rest of the organization that was behind him.

Had you done something? Was there something going on that you would soon find out and end up being forced to face punishment for?

No, they would've taken you in and held you captive until your 'jury' date, right?

You snapped out of it and continued to finish collecting your things, moving into the staff locker room to collect the rest of your stuff when he had appeared in the same room.

He cleared his throat. "That's a, um, nice necklace," he said faintly and you hummed before reaching up.

"Wait, what?"

You dropped everything and found the closest mirror. There, sitting just above your clavicle, was the necklace Bee had given to you. You cursed loudly and struggled to unclasp it. Behind you, you could see his expression shift just slightly to one of pain before solidifying into a cold mask.

"Good, I would have needed to tell you that such items are not allowed and would need to be confiscated," he picked his head up, damn near sneering at you before walking out. You watched him leave, the unclasped chain dangling from one hand. You looked back into the mirror and rubbed your still puffy eyes, willing them to return back to their normal size.

That had to be what surprised him the most, no one saw you cry.

Except for Foggy and Karen. Maybe Matt sometimes, too.

You walked back to your bag and found an envelope sitting inside, neatly tucked away that any glance wouldn't see it but a closer look was all it took. You looked around before squinting at the front, trying to discern whether or not you should be opening this and reading where anyone could, and would, walk in.

You tucked it back in the pocket it had been before picking everything up and leaving, missing the way that Wesley had watched after you in a near mournful way.

When you arrived at home you smiled faintly at Karen and Foggy on the couch, telling them you'd shower and be back out to join them on the movie marathon they were on, before getting in your room. Closing and locking the door, you let out the breath you'd been holding in for however long. Your shoulders slumped and you rifled through your bag before pulling the envelope out.

Opening it, it read;

Tuesday, the 23rd of March, will be the final day of the assignment.

Finish the objective.

Weapons will be left up to you.

Major times and locations are on the next page. ]

You flipped the page.

Thursday, the 18th of March, location will be Willows Peak Church at 6:45.

Saturday, the 20th of March, location will be Sky Luxury Apartments PH2N.

Sunday, the 21st of March, location will be within Wilson Square around 1:00.

More locations and times will be up to you to figure out. ]

You sighed, head rolling back and cracking a bit before you lit a match and left it to burn in a metal trashcan, collecting your clothes for the long, hot shower you were about to take.

The destress you needed after this afternoon, and the last few weeks, would be worth it.

It took about an hour for you to finish showering and another 30 minutes to finally get out of the bathroom, and you walked into the living room to see Karen, Foggy and Matt all standing around something. They spun on their heels to look at you, Karen in confusion and pain, Foggy in distress and Matt just, looking.

Karen held up a piece of paper, which was still faintly smoking and you closed your eyes.

Weapons... up to you.

"What- what is this?"
