Summary
[A continuation of Moon Buster]Marc gets to go to a convention that's all about his favorite B-movie, dressed up as the great Dr. Steven Grant. Perhaps he'll also get a chance to have an autograph from his favorite movie star too!Or perhaps he'll be thrown in his own adventure when a bunch of cultists decide to rain on his parade. After all, what happens in a convention, stays in one!
Note
Thought of an idea that Marc goes into a Tomb Buster convention and thought "Why not?" I need more fluff in my collection anyhow.

The Con

 So, I decided to do a small follow-up to my "Moon Buster" one-shot and go, "Why not have a Tomb Buster convention?" because there will always be conventions of fandoms people like.

Plus, Marc needs happiness and excitement, the chance to be a little kid again and this is the best way to do it!

------

"I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited!"

{You've been saying that ever since we woke up at 5 AM!} Jake grumbles. {What's so important that you're dressing up as Latino Indiana Jones?}

[Let Marc have his moment.] Steven says. [It's not every day you get a chance to see someone who shaped your childhood.]

Jake grumbles a little all while Marc is looking around in pure joy. Steven's Tomb Buster novel, Tomb Buster and the Obisidian Warrior, got him a sizable amount of money and a deal to help create at least two more books into what would be known as the Dark Moon trilogy and Marc was bouncing up and down in glee as he babbled on and on about new ideas for his childhood hero, something that made Steven very happy and Jake to gag but look on with older brother pride.

Thanks to that adventure in Egypt, Steven also showed more signs of confidence with his ability to use his knowledge of Ancient Egypt for the better. Instead of personally going to people on a tour at the musem, or having to wait forever for the small chance of being a tour guide, why not write the knowledge into a story? It made him more money, gave him a bit more self-confidence about himself, and Donna couldn't mock him or call him "Stevie".

(He wasn't that heartless though; once he got a copy of his book, he sent it to Donna with a little note stating, "If I can't give tours or show my passion to Ancient Egypt in your workplace, then I'll spread it to the world. Have fun trying to find someone else with as much enthusiasm for Egypt as me! Laters gators!" - Steven with a V)

And so, after months of research, coffee, vegan take-out, and the occasional nights where Jake fronted in order to keep doing his job as Moon Knight, Steven finally had his book published and the critics were quite interested at this up and coming talent helping to revitalize the art of the B-movie (as those, black-and-white silent films, giallo, and older works had become more popular during the five years of the Blip). And while the movie in and of itself was only liked by those who wore nostalgia like a pair of goggles or were interested in it being, well, a well-made B-movie, a lot of people were really curious about the author with the same name as the titular Tomb Buster protagonist and wanted to know how this talent was hidden from the world and stuck working at a gift shop.

It was somewhat strange for Steven to be part of a Seddit AMA for the Tomb Buster film, but he was glad that he didn't have to show his face to everyone. There were a lot of passionate fans who wanted to know everything about his life which he gladly gave (with Marc and Jake's approval) from how he got his love of Tomb Buster, his favorite parts of the original film, whether or not anyone in his family was also a fan (that caused Marc to cringe a little, but Steven gave him a cuddle and kiss on the cheek to soothe him) and if there is antyhing that he could use as a hint to his future books.

And then, there came the big news from Steven's publisher that he was going to have an appearance at a small fan-funded convention for the large and vocal fanbase of the cult classic Tomb Buster, with the organizers somehow roping in the original Dr. Steven Grant, Julius Valente, for an autograph signing.

The minute Steven read this news for Marc, he silently excused himself for a second...before screaming to the heavens at his number one wish was to come true.

"WAGWAM!!!" Marc cheered, not knowing what that meant but he didn't care as he happily bounced in the three's shared mindscape. "Wagwam Wagwam Wagwam!!!"

And he is still shouting this as the three leave the taxi for the convention.
