The Calvary
"We can't just barge in without a plan!" Tony said standing from the kitchen table and slamming his fist on the surface.
"Wing it." Loki replied and Thor groaned.
"Nobody is winging it. Tony is right, we need a plan." Jane said.
"What was Wanda's condition when you found Hela?" Arya asked Jane.
"Didn't see her. Did you kill her?" Jane asked looking to Brunhild.
"Don't think so." Brunhild said shrugging her shoulders.
"That's reassuring." Natasha said standing in the doorway.
"Why are you even here?" Tony asked and Natasha sped to his side and pushed him against the kitchen counter.
"You need my help. Just admit it." Natasha spat into her step-brother's face.
"Drop the sibling rivalry. We need to devise a solid plan, and a back up plan. And another back up plan just in case the other two plans don't work." Erin said and Thor rubbed his temples.
"Do we have to kill her?" Thor asked.
"Yes!" Everyone shouted back in unison. He put his hands up in defense and Arya placed her hand on his shoulder.
"It's for the best. She's dangerous." Arya said and Thor nodded.
He didn't want to believe that his sister couldn't come back from this. But she had done terrible things. Loki could sympathize in some way. He too had done horrible things since turning into a vampire. But nothing on the level of Hela. And he understood that if he too turned that dark, he would need to be ended as well. The Odinson brothers loved their older sister, but she wasn't the person they once knew anymore. She was violent and impulsive. And especially revengeful. She killed for sport and left a trail of bodies wherever she went.
The rest of the morning consisted of everyone finally coming together to devise the multiple plans to take down one of the most powerful vampires they ever came across, and her witch Wanda Maximoff. Thor, of course, continued to present ideas of a gentler nature. But was quickly shut down by literally everyone at the table. Jane tried to get Darcy to come back down from the lab but she was too busy with a breakthrough with her secret project with the government. So secret she wouldn't tell Jane anything. But Darcy was trusted. When the afternoon grew late they finally had their plan in place.
"Natasha, you and Arya will distract Hela while Loki andThor seek out Wanda. Once they find her; Brunhild will blind her with her powers. Not permanently of course. Jane, Erin, and I will stay outside the abandoned home in the van to make sure nobody escapes. Once Hela is captured and Wanda is subdued Brunhild will put up a barrier around the place. Trapping Hela in one room, and Wanda in another. Stick to the plan and don't go off book. Understood?" Tony looked to each of them and they all nodded in agreement.
"Are you ready for this?" Arya asked as soon as everyone left the room, leaving Thor and Arya to talk alone. They had sensed Thor's hesitation with the plan.
"I have to be. Loki and I have been dealing with Hela's antics for years. If only our parents were here, they would know what to do."
"What happened to them? Are they vampires too?" Arya asked and Thor smiled.
"No. My mother was a witch though. A very powerful one. They passed a few years before I turned."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. They were wonderful parents. I'll be honest, they could have treated Loki with more compassion. But for the most part, they were great."
"Loki has had a hard life, hasn't he?"
"He has."
"I'm sorry this is all happening. Even though I hate Hela, I know what it's like to lose family. I know you wish it didn't have to end this way."
"What must be done, must be." Thor said intertwining his fingers with Arya's.
"Let's get this over with."
"Let's."
