Red Bourbon

The music was loud and the air was stuffy. Arya could barely hear Loki's word's over the base of the song being played. They were in an underground club somewhere downtown. Arya had no idea. She just followed her two new vampire friends around to the best of her ability. She ate when they ate, ran when they ran, and danced when they danced. The sun had just set and the club was already bursting with people. All of which, were vampires. Or a least, that is what Arya had thought. Until she saw teeth sank in the throats of the occasional human.

"What the hell is going on!?" Arya shouted over the music in Natasha's ear.

"Voluntary feeding!" Natasha shouted back then took a swig from a small glass half way full of a dark red liquid.

"They want this!?"

"They beg for it! Now, drink this! Red bourbon!" She said handing Arya a glass with the same liquid. She brought the drink to her nose and her eyes went dark. Veins began to protrude on her face. She guzzled it down. Her head began to feel fuzzy.

"That's it! Let loose once in a while, freckles!" Natasha said patting her on the back and ordering two more red bourbons from the very sweaty bar tender.

"Where is Loki!?" Arya asked looking around the dark bumping club.

"Here, darling." Loki's voice sang into her ear. Arya turned and came face to face with the now blood covered vampire. Blood dripped from his fangs that now hung freely from his gums. The blood covered his mouth and chin, running down his throat. "Are you having fun yet?" He asked leaning down and speaking into her ear again. Arya gulped. What was happening? She liked Thor, not Loki.

"Let's dance!" Natasha yelled and gripped Arya's arm, tearing her away from Loki and pulling her into the crowd of dancing bodies.

"Hey! This one's new!" Natasha said motioning for a shorter woman with spikey brown hair and blue eyes. She had bite marks on her left arm. Arya looked down to the woman's bleeding arm.

"Look into her eyes. Tell her she will not experience any pain." Loki's voice rang in her ear once again. Arya looked up at him and immediately understood what he meant. She remembered her parent's warning her that vampires had the power of influence over the mind.

"Are you sure about this!?" Arya asked loudly to the woman before her and she nodded. She hadn't drank from an actual living person since the few drops from her sister's arm. Thor said it wasn't the best idea. That he didn't feed on human blood, and neither did Loki. Looks like that was a lie. Arya leaned in and looked the woman deep into her eyes. "You will not feel any pain." She said.

"I will not feel any pain." She repeated back. After that Arya looked to Natasha and she nodded in response. Giving her a reassuring look. Arya leaned forward and sank her teeth into the side of the woman's neck.

"Careful not to purge the artery. Slowly now." Loki said standing right next to her.

Arya felt her intoxicated mind buzz with the addicting euphoria of drinking directly from the source. Her pupils dilated and her lips latched to the woman's skin. She gripped the woman tightly and oddly enough she didn't scream. The woman let her head fall back and closed her eyes with a soft smile. After a few minutes of feverish feeding Arya let up and released the woman. As the blood ran down from her lips to her chin she looked up to Loki who stood with a proud smirk on his face.

"See. Control." He said and Arya released the woman.

"Thanks!" The woman shouted over her shoulder as she waved goodbye to Arya.

"Why would she thank me!?" Arya asked Natasha.

"Humans get a kick out of being fed on! Causes some sort of release of dopamine when you take the pain away!" Natasha replied moving to the beat of the music.

"Don't tell Thor!" Arya yelled to Loki and he gave her a knowing smile. As much as she hated lying, she knew Thor wouldn't approve of her actively feeding on a human. Even if said human welcomed it. "I love this song!" She yelled throwing her hands into the air and dancing to sound of an upbeat rock song.

As the night went on Arya fed on three more willing human participants. All of which did thank her afterward. She thought it was outrageous and invigorating. The electrified feeling that tingled all over her skin made her feel alive. Colors were brighter, sounds were crisper, and the air in her lungs seemed to taste sweeter. She felt more alive than she had ever felt when she was human. They had been dancing for hours and yet it felt like minutes. This feeling of pure unaltered bliss felt like it would never escape. For the first time since being turned, Arya felt happy.
