Tony x reader x Bruce
Words were incredibly powerful tools.
They could be used to start and end wars, gain the trust of another, and destroy a person.
You were one of the few Avengers who didn't have any superpowers.
You were Natasha's sister and had followed her to SHIELD after she and Clint rescued you.
You were a fighter, an Avenger, and for the first time in decades, you were actually happy.
Your relationship with your sister had never been better, you had a job you loved, the Avengers had become your second family, and you were in love with Bruce Banner and Tony Stark.
And it was being with Tony and Bruce that your true superpower was revealed.
You were able to talk the two out of dangerous plans and into healthy habits. You were able to get the boys to do whatever you said.
Even if sometimes it did take some convincing.
When you woke up in the middle of the night, you immediately noticed two things.
One side of the bed was warm, and the other was freezing.
With a sigh, you opened your eyes to confirm what you already knew was happening.
Bruce was beside you, softly snoring away, and Tony's side of the bed was empty.
"Damn it, Tony." You quietly groaned, pulling yourself out of the warm confines of your bed. "Can't have one night, can we?" You grumbled, tucking the blankets around Bruce before padding into the elevator.
"Morning, lady boss." JARVIS greeted you. "Where to?"
"Where do you think, J?"
"To bosses lab, right away," JARVIS said, shutting the doors. "I should warn you, it's a mess down there."
"Tell me something new, why don't you, J?" You snorted.
As the elevator arrived on the lab floor, you were surprised you didn't hear Tony's music through the walls.
"Tony," You heard Rhodey groan over the speakers. "Please, man, it is three in the morning."
"When did you become such an old man?" Tony snorted, not looking up from whatever he was working on. "We used to stay up all day and all night."
"Yeah, when we were young and thought fireball and coffee actually tasted good."
"What do you mean? That does taste good." Tony said, one hand reaching for the coffee cup beside him.
"That better just be coffee in there, Tony." You said, making your presence known.
"Christ, Y/N!" Tony jumped.
"Y/N, thank God. Please, tell Tony to go to bed. And to let me go to bed." Rhodey pleaded with you.
"Don't worry, Rhodey. I've got this." You promised. "Goodnight, Rhodey."
"Night Y/N," Rhodey said before the line went dead.
"That's rude. Rhodey didn't say anything to me." Tony grumbled, going to take a sip of his drink before you snatched the mug from his hands. "Hey!"
"Tony, you're supposed to be in bed. With Bruce and me." You sighed.
"I know, I know, but I just had to get this on paper before I forgot it," Tony told you.
"There's no paper in front of you, Tony. That's a project in front of you." You reminded the man.
"Yeah, but it started out as something on paper." Tony defended himself.
"Tony."
"Yes, honey? Love of my life? One of the only reasons for waking up?"
"You're coming to be with me. Right now." You said, taking the man's hand and pulling him to his feet.
"But Y/N," Tony whined, trying to pull his hand out of your grasp. "I have to keep working on this."
"Is it going to explode if you walk away now and come back in six hours?" You rose a brow.
"Theoretically, no, but you never know what I could have done wrong." Tony tried to argue.
"Tony, you're coming back to bed." You told the man, leaving him no room to argue. "And if you even think about coming to bed only to sneak away, I'll have J lock down the labs."
"What? J wouldn't do that!"
"Actually, he would if he thought you were putting your health at risk." You said, leading Tony towards the elevator. "J and I have an arrangement."
"Kinky." Tony coughed.
"Tony?"
"Yes, dear?"
"Bed."
"Yes, dear."
You hated training SHIELD recruits. They were try-hard, overconfident morons who thought they knew better than everyone.
"Saunders! Here! Now!" You shouted, causing the entire room to freeze as the 20-year-old walked over to you. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
"Training. Like everyone else." Saunders told you, crossing his arms.
"Is that what you call that? Tell me, does it look like anyone else in this room is throwing things at fellow agents as they practice throwing knives? Do you see anyone else doing so?"
"What's the big deal? Shouldn't this be a good thing? You said we should expect anything in the field!" Saunders tried to defend himself.
"I did, but this isn't the field, and you're not in charge of how I decide to train you all." You shook your head at the agent.
"If it were up to you, none of us would ever enter the field!" Saunders accused you, causing the room to gasp.
"Oh, really? Care to explain your reasoning?" You rose a brow.
"If you don't train us, and none of us ever get onto the field, all the glory will be left to you and the Avengers! And maybe you don't even want that. Maybe you want people like HYRDA to win!" Saunders exclaimed.
"Excuse me?"
"Maybe you've been playing everyone for the long con! You've never been on our side, have you? Once a killer, always a killer!" Saunders scoffed.
"I'm going to give you three seconds to rescind everything you've just said, Saunders, before I show you why I'm one of SHIELD's best." You calmly told the man.
"I don't have to do anything." Saunders crossed his arms as he stepped towards you. But you held your ground. "You're nothing more than a murderer. You can play pretend all you want, try and fool everyone here, but I know the truth. You're a killer, and that's all you'll ever be." Saunders said before a loud growl echoed throughout the room and the glass wall shattered as the Hulk now stood in the room.
The trainees screamed, all of them running out of the room, all of them but Saunders.
Saunders stood frozen in front of you, watching in horror as the Hulk stormed towards the pair of you.
"No be mean to Y/N!" Hulk roared, picking up the terrified recruit.
"No, please!" Saunders cried.
"Sweetheart, put my trainee down." You said, moving towards your partner.
"No." Hulk grunted.
"Hulk," You rose a brow. "Put him down. He looks like he's going to piss himself."
"Hulk no like people being rude to you." Hulk glared at a terrified Saunders.
"I'm sorry! It'll never happen again! Please, don't kill me!" Saunders pleaded, looking between Hulk and you.
"I don't think he's ever gonna say anything to me again, sweetheart." You said, standing at Hulk's side. "Put him down, please." You said, placing your hand on his arm.
Hulk looked down at you with a stare that would scare most people, but not you.
With a grunt, Hulk let Saunders drop to the ground.
Saunders frantically crawled away from the two of you, his eyes never leaving Hulk's.
"Run," Hulk grunted, causing Saunders to get up and rush from the room.
"Thank you, sweetheart." You said as Hulk dropped to the ground.
"Hulk don't like him."
"Neither do I, hon, but sometimes we have to put up with people we don't like." You said, kneeling in front of him. "What were you doing here?"
"Banner want to get you for lunch. Banner didn't like what boy said either." Hulk told you.
"Well, thank you both for defending my honour." You said, taking his hand and pressing a kiss to the palm. "But I kind of need Bruce back now before one of those idiots decides that this a problem."
"Hulk no problem." Hulk snapped.
"I know, sweetheart, and I don't think that. But these agents are stupid."
"Stupid agents."
"Yes, they are. So I need Bruce back before they do anything really stupid." You told him.
"Okay." Hulk sighed.
"Thank you." You said, standing up to kiss his cheek. "I love you."
"Love you too," Hulk said before shrinking down back into Bruce.
"Hey, sweetheart." You smiled, pulling off your jacket and handing it to Bruce.
"Sorry, we just couldn't stand him talking to you like that," Bruce said, wrapping your jacket around his waist. "We know you don't need us to stand up for you."
"Not a problem, hon." You smiled, taking the scientist's hand. "Besides, I thought it was pretty hot." You said, kissing him. "C'mon, let's find you some clothes."
"Alright, movies are loaded, and I have all our favourite nail polishes ready." You announced, leaning back on Natasha's couch.
"And here's one bowl of popcorn. Extra salt, extra butter." Natasha said, sitting the bowl in front of you.
"And let the boys' free night begin." You said as Natasha sat by your side.
"We have got to find other women to be friends with." Natasha sighed.
"What? We're friends with plenty of women." You told Natasha.
"We're friends with Wanda, Laura and Maria." Natasha rolled her eyes. "And Wanda's on her honeymoon, Laura's got the kids, and Maria's always working. Face it, Y/N, we're constantly surrounded by men."
"Idiotic men." You smirked, causing Natasha to groan.
"Did you see what they did to the living room last night? Glitter paint! Everywhere!" Natasha exclaimed. "Apparently, Clint wanted to introduce Thor to it."
"You know, I caught Tony ordering bulk amounts of loose glitter this morning." You mentioned. "I bet you, by the end of the week, either Barton or Thor's room will be covered in glitter."
"Oh, hell no. I'm not wasting my money on a bet like that." Natasha snorted.
"Excuse me, lady boss." JARVIS interrupted the two of you. "Boss, green boss, and Captain Rogers are currently engaged in an experiment that could be considered dangerous," JARVIS said, causing you to groan.
"Want me to give you a hand?" Natasha asked you as you stood.
"No, no, I got this." You waved her off. "You keep going. I'll be back soon." You told her, walking towards the elevator.
"I'll have a beer ready for you!"
"Alright, whatever you three are doing, it stops now!" You said as you entered the lab, causing all three men to look over at you.
"Y/N! I thought you were having girls' night with Nat," Bruce said, his cheeks flushing.
"I was. That was until JARVIS told me the three of you were doing something stupid." You crossed your arms.
"Seriously, J?" Tony groaned, looking at the ceiling.
"What are you three doing?" You rose a brow.
"Steve was curious about the limits of his serum." Bruce blurted out.
"Technically, it's the kids' fault. He made a joke about drinking bleach and it not affecting him." Tony added. "And then Steve came to us."
"Seriously, Steve?" You sighed at the captain, who looked down in shame. "Alright, Steve out. Go back to whatever you were doing before all this."
"Sure. Sorry about ruining your night, Y/N." Steve muttered before rushing out of the room.
"You two were going to let him drink bleach?" You asked your partners.
"For science, babe!" Tony defended himself. "Steve wanted to know, and we were providing him a safe space to do so!"
"How much coffee have you two had?"
"Not enough!"
"Probably more than enough." Bruce sighed.
"You're lucky I love you both." You rubbed your hand over your face. "Look, no experimenting on our friends with bleach. Can we please agree to that?" You pleaded.
"We can agree to that. Right, Tony?" Bruce elbowed Tony.
"Yeah, yeah, of course. That's more than fair." Tony agreed, rubbing his side.
"Great. I'm going back to girls night." You said, moving towards the two and kissing them. "J will be watching, got it?"
"Yes, Y/N."
"You got it." The boys nodded.
"Good. I'll see you later. Love you." You said, walking back to the elevator.
"Love you too, Y/N."
"Love ya, babe. Have fun."
