Chapter 52

In Hanna’s sleep.

The nightmare started the same as always. She wake up to something climb on top of her. Then wrap slim fingers around her neck and hold tight. She jolt awake, eyes burst open and crawling at the hands around her throat. The shadow sat upon her body with emotionless intent. Hanna tried to break free, but it’s hands wrapped around her throat like a snake and the strength of these nimble hands were stronger then steal.

“Please” she choked. “Stop this, I’m sorry”

Hanna, on a subconscious level, knew her attacker. She always known her. Yet to say the name out loud will bring light to the shadows identity. Hanna knew this shadow was purely just her fears projected in sleep. From unresolved problems six years in the making.

“Get off of me!” She grunted. Eyes changed swiftly to flames wicked red and she threw the humanoid shadow off her. It bounced on the ground, then slid into darkness.

Hanna leapt off the bed, Angel arm wing out and ready to fight.

Instead of the shadow, her door opened and in poured in light. Another person stood bathed in the white artificial light. Hanna turned to her and squinted her eyes.

“What are you doing?” Cira laughed.

Hanna sighed, relieved the woman was here. Standing in the light, her safe beacon from the nightmare shadow.

Cira tiles her head out to the door and gestured with open smile. “Come with me” she asked. She offered her hand and smirked “to the wild side”

Hanna allowed herself to walk forward. She left the shadow in her room and gladly took Cira’s hand. Following the woman out into the light.
They took three steps from the doorway and were instantly transported into the middle of her Aunties bar. Jazz music playing, people were dancing, laughing and drinking. Hanna’s attention wasn’t on them. It was on Cira and her alone. She let Cira guide her across the room. When they reached the centre and Cira wrapped her arms Hanna. Hanna tentatively grabbed Cira’s waist.

As the two started a slow dance. Cira looked behind Hanna to where they came and then back to her with a curious look. “You are full of surprises, aren’t you”

“What do you mean?” Han asked confused.

“You know what I mean, they say your dangerous” Cira spoke intrigued. The word dangerous spoken with a little too glee in her tone.

Hanna looked away ashamed, starring at the crowd. “I’m not anything” she insisted in a soft whisper. “Not special and not a threat”

Cira frowned for a moment. “Oh Hanna” she sighed. Hanna turned back to her. Cira leaned close, smirked and spoke in husky voice “they should be terrified”. Cira raised herself up on her tippy toes and leaned forward.

Hanna closed her eyes and leaned down.

Just before they kissed, Hanna woke up. Hanna shot upward, catching her breath. She rubbed her neck from the distance memory of the nightmare. Then slowly remembered the good dream at the end of her sleep. The moment Cira and herself danced in each other’s arms. Cira’s words whispering in her head.

Then the almost kiss.

Hanna’s face flushed and she cursed aloud in shock “What the fuck”

By sunrise Ava and Beatrice found their daughter sitting on the back deck. Watching the new day roll in from the lounge chair. Ava and Beatrice walked out on the deck and took their seats either side of their daughter.

“You’re up early sweetpea” Ava observed. She nudged her daughter in the shoulder and asked concerned “are you okay?”

Hanna turned to her mother and nodded. “yeah fine”

Ava frowned concerned. “Sweetpea you can tell us anything”

“She’s right” Beatrice added. Hanna turned to her and she smiled warmly at her daughter, taking her hand in firm grasp. “tell us what’s wrong”

Hanna sighed, looking down for a moment, before focusing on her mothers. “oh uh…” she began. “I had a bad dream last night…about a..shadow of sorts trying to kill me” she waited a moment for them to adsorb their story. “I got rid of it and then Cira showed up and we…well…we danced?”

Ava smiled. “Just danced?”

Hanna turned to her and nodded “yeah just danced”

Beatrice raised one eyebrow. She turned briefly to her wife, her wife turned to her with a “I knew it” look. Beatrice smiled and shock her head, sending her a quick “no you didn’t” look. She focused on her daughter and advised “have you had this nightmare before”

Hanna turned back to her and shock her head. “Not with Cira in it”

“You could be dreaming about Cira because of her absence”

Hanna sighed, leaning back. It was true, she hadn’t seen her friend in a while. She left the Cradle without a word and her presences in school was few and far between. She can least be proud Persephone had kept her word regarding Cira, but she missed her friend’s constant presence in her life. “I think you’re right”

“How about you tell us all about it” Beatrice encouraged. Hanna turned back to her. “From the beginning” she added.

Hanna nodded. She felt her mother Ava’s hand in hers and so, with her mothers support. She spilled her guts. The confession of her fears and worries with friends and relationship alike brought out into the open. They did not interrupt. They held their daughters’ hand and listened with open minds.

Later that night.

Captain and her team decided to sneak out to a bar on the other side of town, for actual alcoholic drinks and not the fake cocktails Kit’s mothers serve them. Hell will come to them sooner or later, but they hopped their family’s wrath will come in the morning. Tonight it was chance for fun.

The early buzz of first sip of beer started to grow in their minds. The Team took off to the dance floor, shredding up the floor with their moves and amongst the chaos of bodies jiving. Hanna’s angelic perked up and faced the door. She stopped and turned to the door.

A moment later it burst open and in strode, hell on her boots and repaired red glasses, Cira Sandra. The rockstar was dressed to the nines, a woman ready to fight in style, as always with her. Velvet crimson suite wearing girl, black vest, red tie, white shirt, suspenders, belt, black fitting pants, high boots and chain decorations.

There was thirty people between the two of them, but Hanna could recognise her anywhere. Her smile gaped wide in O shape for a few moments, before Cira turned her way and her smile widen excitedly. She sprinted away from her friends and head first into the chaos of dancing bodies.

Persephone only realised Hanna was gone until it was all too late. She turned and watched disappointed as Hanna sprinted towards Cira Sandra.

“CIRA!” Hanna cried out excitedly.

“Hello Darling!” Cira cheered before she was tackled by the Hybrid and hoisted into the air, spinning around and around. “OH MY GODS LET ME DOWN!” Cira shouted laughing. Hanna did and Cira braced herself upright, holding Hanna still. “Geez I haven’t been gone that long”

“Technically three months since we had proper hang out”

“Ah that’s true” Cira winced. “My apologies Hanna, but I’ve been taking care of business”

Hanna frowned concerned “what kind of business?”

“Nothing for you to worry about, my dear” Cira reassured. “It’s all pretty sorted now, just need to tie up some loose ends”

Hanna frowned for a moment, then her smile widen and she grabbed Cira’s arms, leading her deeper into the bar with a hopeful request “can we say all those troubles are tied up for tonight?”

Cira laughed. “Are you trying to tempt me into partying with you?”

“Is it working?”

Cira laughed. She stepped into Hanna’s personal space and declared “no need to tempt me darling, just need to ask”

Hanna’s smile brighten and suddenly she darted back for the dance floor. Pulling Cira along with her.

Persephone didn’t have time to put on her mask as they approached. Luckily Kit and Addams spotted the charging two and distracted the pair away from her.

“HERE SHE IS!” Kit shouted. “WE SHOULD GET SHOTS!”

“HOW ARE YOU GETTING SHOTS?” Cira laughed.

“THROUGH MY DEADILY SKILLS OF COURSE” Kit dismissed, she walked forward and gave Cira a quick hug. “GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN!” she spoke as she pulled back. “GIVE ME A MOMENT AND I SHALL RETURN!” she stated, pointing to the ceiling before walking head high into the sea of bodies.

Addams laughed, “THAT’S MY GIRL!” she announced proudly. She walked forward and took Cira into her arms. Hugging her briefly. “HOW ARE YOU DOING?” she asked as she pulled back.

“FINE” Cira shouted surprised. “SERIOUSLY IF THIS IS HOW I GET TREATED WHEN I LEAVE, I SHOULD WORK MORE OFTEN”

“DO NOT!” Addams threatened with a teasing smile. “HANNA WILL NEVER LET US HEAR THEN END OF IT AND YOU KNOW WHAT, WE WILL GIVE YOU TWICE THE HELL!”

Hanna playfully hit Addams in the shoulder.

Cira turned back to Hanna with a knowing smirk. “Really, you’ll miss me that bad?” she teased.

“Of course, you’re my friend”

Cira smiled, despite the way that one word stung at her heart. “Then I’ll stay” she assured and such a promise made Hanna’s eyes glow gold with delight. Cira’s own smile brighten as result, she missed those eyes, that bloody cheery smile, but her work and time away from Hanna was well worth the reward now.

Kit pushed and shoved her way back to her friends, elbows out and shot glasses held protectively against her. “FUCKING HOOLIGANS!” she cursed with a light laugh. She offered everyone a shot while insisting “COME TAKE A SHOT, TAKE A SHOT!”

They took their shots and held them out in circle. “AS AUNT CAMILA SAYS, CHEERS TO US FUCK THE REST” Kit shouted, their glasses clinked and they drained down their last swallow. Almost all of them had a knee jerk reaction to the shot, but Cira took the warm vodka with stride. Barely reacting to the liquid, other then to like her lips and hum at the taste.

“DUDE YOU GOTTA TEACH ME TO DRINK LIKE THAT!” Kit insisted.

“YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND!” Cira laughed. “HOWEVER THE FEE IS THAT ALL THE SHOTS COME PAID AT YOUR EXPENSE!”

“DEAL!” Kit laughed.

The night went on and the dancing only intensified.

Persephone soon took her leave, retreating to a table to enjoy her drink in peace. She tried to ignore the way Hanna and Cira danced together. Insisting in her mind that Cira and Hanna danced often alone or with their friends. To keep her anger from spilling out and making Hanna leave her again, she turned to drinking.

Every time Hanna and Cira danced together, she drink.

Every time she caught Cira starring at Hanna while her girlfriend wasn’t looking, she drink.

Every time she caught Hanna watching Cira with that adoring smile of hers, she drink.

Hanna tried many times during the night to dance with her or stay at the table with Persephone. Cracking jokes with that adoring smile of hers. Still Persephone drink.

As Persephone finished off her eighth glass, Hanna’s worry intensified. The girl started slurring her words and collapsing head first on the table. The group raced into action, keeping her steady so management doesn’t throw them out. Another beer was delivered Persephone’s way and before Hanna could decline, Cira snatched the glass from the waiter, cheered them and sculled it in one swallow. Hanna raised her eyebrow at her friend. Her friend returned the drink, tipped the server and turned to Hanna with a charming smile. “Can’t have the princess throwing us out on a night so young” she laughed.

“fuck off mevil that was my bbbeerr!” Persephone groaned.

Cira snorted her laughter, turning to face Persephone. “What did you just call me?” she insisted, more teasing in her tone then malice.

Persephone throw her head up and glared “fuckin mevil”

Cira laughed, dropping to her knees. “Mevil? Please I’m not a Mevil” Cira laughed. She pulled herself upright and informed “I’m a fucking Mevil Queen! Come find me when you can insult me properly!” and then she turned to the girls. “If she tries to order for drinks, send them on my way. I love to spend her money for her”

“you’re not having aannny of my beers!” Persephone growled, pointing a finger threatening to Cira.

“Wouldn’t it be better just to take the phone away?” Hanna asked.

Cira laughed with a light shrug. “You can, but more free drinks for me”. On cue another server came over with another glass of beer. She took the beer before Persephone could reach for it. She raised her glass to Persephone and took a swig.

Persephone glared, twisting her hand and flipped Cira off. Cira returned the gesture, by poking her tongue at the drunk, then taking another swig of the stolen beer.

Kit and Addams sniggered at the exchange.

Hanna rolled her eyes at the pair. She wrapped her hands around her girlfriend and gently encouraged “come on, lets go home where the beers are free”

“I’m happy here” Persephone growled, shrugging her shoulders free.

Hanna sighed, leaning down against her girlfriend. “you haven’t been happy for the past two hours, now come on lets go” she asked. Again, Persephone shrugged out of Hanna’s grip. Hanna let Persephone go, but remained a comforting present by her side. “we can go to a different party?”

Persephone growled, using her hand to hold her head up and massage her fingers deep into her scalp. “leavemealonefreak” her voice growled a low muffle.

Hanna pulled back, frowning concerned. No, she didn’t here that right, she reasoned with herself. She huffed, biting her lip. “Okay that’s enough, lets go!”

“leave me alone”

“Persephone?”

Persephone growled and turned to her girlfriend with furious eyes and she growled “Leave me the fuck alone freak!”

Hanna stumbled back, the sudden outburst shocked her to the core. Even her friends stopped laughing, their attentions turned to Persephone glaring.

“didn’t you hear me you fucking feather haired freak, leave me the fuck alone” Persephone growled again. She went to stand and fell off her chair.

Hanna raced to catch her, hoisting her upright, but the girl pushed and shoved at her until she let go. Shocked by this anger, Hanna stumbled back and sprinted out of the bar.

Cira bitterly drank down her last swallow. She turned to Addams and Kit and asked “Can you?”

“Yes” they answered.

Cira Sandra wasted no time after that. She raced out of the bar after Hanna. Leaving Addams and Kit to drag Persephone out of the bar, back to their place. All the while giving Persephone a lecture on her dickhead attitude.

Cira found Hanna by the beach. In a corner where the town’s lights barely touched the ocean and such, gave the land starlight. The noise of the town replaced by the crashing of low waves. Sitting close to the water, her knees up and arms wrapped around her legs. Cira watched her for a moment, then moved closer and asked “may I join you?”

Hanna nodded.

Cira took a seat behind Hanna, leaning up against her back. “You know what I’m going to ask next”

“Look up at the stars and embrace the darkness” Hanna sniffled.

Cira frowned, turning to face Hanna. “Deep breaths” she advised. “you don’t have to say a word, I know your girl is a bitch”

“ex” Hanna quickly insisted.

“Ex” Cira repeated.

Hanna sighed, shaking her head. “its for the best anyway, I see that now. I was too blind with my love for her, I didn’t understand the way she looked at me sometimes was not the same way I looked at her”

Cira frowned, she pulled herself around Hanna and took a seat by her side, facing the ocean.

Hanna sighed, leaning her body back and turning her head to the stars. Watching them twinkle. It did little to calm her like the last time. She felt Cira’s eyes on her and it did some effect on calming herself down. However, a new question lingered when she looked at Cira and the wait for the answer was all too much. So, she questioned Cira “Do you believe I’m a freak?”

Cira shock her head. “No” she answered truthy and without hesitation. “never a freak, I look at you Hanna and I don’t see a freak, I see someone unique” she spoke from the heart. “you intrigue me”

Hanna smiled, dropping her head into her mess of arms to hide the blush. “thank you” she squeaked. That smile soon faded as she turned back to the sea and the stars, the blush from her cheeks subsided as the dread of tonights argument came back in full force. She huddled her legs closer together. Resting her chin ontop of her crossed arms. “I always known there was something wrong, with our relationship, hell even our friendship. She had this look in her eye that I couldn’t just figure out what it meant…I think I learned that tonight” she confessed. “It’s hard to love yourself, when you are different from everyone else…it’s harder when the woman you love calls you a freak”

“Don’t hate who you are” Cira assured, with a tender voice only reserved for Hanna. She reached forward and ran her fingers through Hanna’s arm wing. Hanna turned to her surprised, her wing jittered at the tender touch. “what you are is beautiful”

“Even when I’m in my angelic form”

Cira straighten her spine, she smirked as she answered “Especially when you fight in your true form. When you show the world how much of deadly warrior you are. “You are a force of nature”

“thanks” Hanna laughed.
“My Darling, my force of nature, you are a Warrior Princess and one day you will be Queen”

Hanna chuckled, her smile turning giddy as she looked away. “I don’t know about that”

“Darling I’m never wrong”

Hanna turned back to her. Her smile faded as she asked “then how come you left?”

Cira sighed. A question she didn’t want to answer, but now she had no choice. “It wasn’t because of you” she confessed. “It was for you”

Hanna looked at her confused. “for me?”

Cira nodded. She stood up swiftly and offered her hand. “there’s something I need to share with you”

Hanna took the offer, allowing Cira to pull her up. She gripped Cira’s hand tighter and allowed her friend to guide her off the beach.

Where they went next, Hanna was not expecting.

Cira led Hanna into the local hospital, up four floors and down the end of the corridor to a private bedroom. Opening the door, Cira held it open as Hanna wondered inside.

Inside the room was a single bed, holding up a long haired and bearded old man. Covered in tubes and wires, to keep him not only alive, but breathing, drinking and sustaining him. The rhythmic beeps of the machines filled the room with relentless noise. He had similar features to Cira, a black chained necklace with a black stone shaped coin laid against his chest. A direct match in every way to Cira’s, right down to the hole in it’s centre.

Cira took a seat on the bed beside the old man. Hanna, didn’t know where to go, so she moved and stood close to Cira.

“Hanna” she spoke, turning down to the coma patient. “meet my father, Archon” she introduced. “father, this is Hanna…she’s my friend”

Hanna smiled at the old man, she leaned forward and greeted “it’s very nice to meet you Archon, you got an amazing daughter and I don’t know where I’ll be without her”

Cira smiled, biting her lip. “thank you” she spoke, looking over her shoulder briefly to face her. “he really shouldn’t be here…many years ago he left home to change the world and he disappeared without a trace” she explained. She reached over and grabbed his necklace. Running her finger over the coin. “Mother insisted I move on, leave the dead to rest, but I knew he was out there something…it took me so long, but I eventually found him here and really…mother was right, he should be dead”

“isn’t there something these Doctors can do?”

“Nothing” Cira answered, shaking her head. “Mercy would be to grant him death, then hook him up and force his body to live..but I…”

Hanna nodded, she took a seat in the chair opposite Cira’s legs. She grabbed Cira’s leg and gave the limb a squeeze. “you can’t kill your own father”

Cira huffed, nodding sharply. “you must think I’m weak”

“you are nothing of the sort!” Hanna insisted sharply. Enough force in her tone to draw Cira’s attention away from her father to her. “You can’t kill him because you love him. That is nothing to be ashamed of” she spoke. “To have love in your heart makes you stronger”

Cira smiled, with a gentle nod. “you’re right”

Hanna gripped her leg tighter “thank you for letting me meet him” she pulled her hand back and gestured to the two. “So tell me about you two, about him?”

Cira knew she shouldn’t, but the words came forth and stories followed of her family and her. Hanna sat back and listened thoughtfully throughout. Cira couldn’t reveal everything, but this was more then she ever said to anyone. She was tempted to show Hanna more of herself, but as she raised her hand to her glasses, she realised, she wasn’t quite ready yet. So she dropped her hand and spent the night telling Hanna stories and jokes.

By the time Hanna drifted off to sleep. Cira kissed her father goodbye, then walked over to Hanna and lifted the girl into her arms. She carried her out of the room without another word. Taking the girl back home.

In the morning that followed.

The day begun with the usual sunrise watch, followed by Ava and Beatrice practicing fighting. Beatrice awaited in the backyard with her staff in hand and her wife’s staff in other hand.

“Babe!” Ava’s voice shouted from inside the house. Followed by the fast thumps of her running footsteps.

Beatrice turned to the house and smiled curiously.

Soon Ava emerged, phasing through the glass wall and sprinting into the backyard carrying lightsabres. “You wouldn’t believe where I found them!” she cried out excitedly. “Oh my gods, I haven’t seen these since she went through the star wars phase”

“I believe she’s still a fan, my love” Beatrice comment amused.

“well yeah, but she used to be hard core at eight”

“where did you find them?”

“in her old toy box, check it out” she handed her wife a green lightsabre and took the blue in her stride. Standing back and swinging the sabre in x motions left and right, with the added effect of whistling light sabre sounds.

Beatrice laughed, trying to smoother the sound with her hand.

Ava turned to her and strike a Luke Skywalker pose. “Care to challenge me to a light sabre dual my love?”

“You are ridiculous” Beatrice stated, she threw the spears aside and they landed one by one standing upright in the dirt.

“Is that a yes?”

“Of course my love” Beatrice twirled the lightsabre in hand, then readied herself in fighting stance. With her free hand, she beckoned her wife forward.

Ava grinned, then took off sprinting straight to her wife.

Their lightsabres clashed and they danced around the back yard. Half showing off and half serious training. The sounds of their plastic weapons echoed around their home.

Ava kept an eye on her wife’s movements, waiting for the perfect chance to widen her wife’s defences and strike. Ava smiled as she led her wife backwards across the yard. She suddenly dipped under her wife’s strike, twisted her light sabre with hers and dislodged her wife’s grip. Ava charged forward, wrapped her legs around Beatrice and threw her wife to the ground, landing on top. “Ha Ha I win!” Ava cried triumph.

Beatrice hummed with a knowing smirk.

Ava turned down to her wife and gasped “oh hang on-“

Before Ava knew it, Ava was rolled over and on her back. Beatrice on top, pinning the woman to the grass with a lightsabre to her face. Beatrice’s confident smile glowed at her victory. “I win”

Ava didn’t bother to struggle, she liked the view of her wife on top. She took the chance to look her wife up and down, then raise her hands up and tug her wife closer. “That was awesome, Master Jedi”

“Master?”

“I should say so with moves like those”

Beatrice’s breath hitched as her wife’s hands roamed past her hips. “My love” she spoke, blushing. “our daughter could wake up any moment” Ava hummed, but didn’t pull away, only moved closer. “Besides this is supposed to be a training session”

Ava hummed, pulling back before she could kiss her wife. “Okay best out of three?”

Beatrice laughed, nodding lightly. “Okay, best out of three” she agreed. She pulled herself away from her wife and helped her up while speaking “however, once she’s gone…” she trailed off, biting her lip. She tugged Ava pressed against her hips, leaned down and kissed her lips. “I will finish” she whispered, kissed her wife once more, then pulled away “what you started”

Ava laughed “you better, winner tops”

They let each other go, taking hold of their light sabres and turned to face each other. They started the fight again.

Two more fights later, Beatrice wins two to one. Beatrice carried her wife in the house, the pair covered in sweat, but their hands couldn’t stop roaming each other’s bodies. Kissing blindly as they entered their kitchen area. Beatrice lowered her wife on the kitchen bench, she pulled away, but Ava quickly wrapped her legs around her wife and pulled her back in.

“Thought you were going to finish what I started?” Ava spoke grinning ear to ear.

Beatrice ran her tongue across her teeth. “As tempting as it is to take you on the kitchen-“

“Kinky” Ava giggled excitedly.

Beatrice braced her hands on the counter, trying to resist the urge to follow through on her desire. “we must restrain ourselves in the kitchen, until our daughter is gone for the day” Beatrice gave her Ava another kiss, then pulled away.

Ava sighed. “I suppose we should be doing adulting” Ava comment, she turned her head to Beatrice and watched her wife nod in agreement. “Once she’s gone, the adulting is escorting her out the door”

“very well my love” Beatrice agreed. She poured her wife and herself a glass of water. Offering the glass, then took a drink.

Ava smiled as she raised her glass up. “Oscar Wilde is right, love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling” she stated. As expected her wife choked on her drink, starring at her blushing red. Ava grinned smugly and winked at her.

“Really my love!” Beatrice spoke.

“He’s right”

“Very well” she comment. She drained down her last gulp and placed the glass beside Ava’s hip. She raised her finger and pointed to Ava with a daring smile “once she’s out of the house”

Ava sighed, but still grinned madly in love. “alright love” she spoke. Ava hopped off the bench and began preparing the coffee. Her wife, followed her into the kitchen and began prepping breakfast. Ava turned to the ceiling and wondered aloud “Did you hear them come in last night?”

“Yes, very quiet, I was quite impressed”

“Yeah I didn’t hear a thing” Ava spoke. She turned around and comment “looks like Cira Sandra is getting closer to our daughter”

Beatrice paused mid cereal box grab. Turning to her wife. “she is, it doesn’t mean them two are together”

“Oh if they did suddenly get together, Mary is going to be so pissed she didn’t call it”

Soon the teenagers joined them for breakfast. Both showered and dressed, Cira still wearing the clothes she wore last night, but her jacket held over her shoulder.

“Morning Mums” Hanna cheered merrily, taking her seat at the table.

“Morning” her mothers replied.

“Good morning” Cira greeted, then took her seat. “I hope it’s alright that I stayed the night and join you for breakfast, your daughter was quiet insistent on the last bit”

“No problem at all” Ava spoke. “It was about time we met you face to face” she paused and leaned over with a curious expression. “have we met face to face before?” Ava asked, her eyes shimmered white for a moment.

Cira frowned and leaned back. “Not that I recall”

Ava starred at her for a few minutes more, then hummed and leaned back with a cherry smile. “Well I’m sure Hanna has told you about pancake day, its quite the occasion here, along with BBQ get togethers. I’m sure we will be seeing each other more often”

“I’m sure we will” Cira spoke with a warm smile.

Hanna looked to her friend and grinned, then resumed devouring her breakfast. She stopped after one bite and turned back to her friend with a curious look. “The gang and I are going to Addam’s cabin on the lake for the weekend. It would be awesome if you can come along with us?”

Cira bit her lip. “Tempting, but I have work to do”

“What kind of work?” Beatrice asked curiously.

“Just a few loose ends” Cira shrugged. She turned to Beatrice and explained “Let’s just say I work for an office that don’t like to advertise, it’s all stock markets, papers, staff to look after and operations that are starting to bore me to death”

“Sounds like tiring work”

“The end result will be worthy reward” she announced, she turned back to Hanna and answered “Perhaps another time”.

Hanna nodded with a light smile. “Sure thing, did I mention it was haunted?”

“Haunted?” Cira asked amused.

“That’s what the locals say, the land and the cabin are trapped with spirits. There are even other cabins out there abandoned because of these spirits”

Cira chuckled, very tempted by the prospect. “well that is very tempting to investigate, perhaps I may join you when I get the chance. Even for a little while”

“anytime you like”
