The large growl that came from the shadows was menacing. Stevonnie held their sword tightly, sort of but not fully ready to take on the creature that awaits them. Stepping out of the shadows, it was a white creature... Or Lion. Stevonnie looked horrified. It was Lion, except he was white. “What happened to you…?” Lion roared at Stevonnie, swiping at the fusion. “Lion…?” A familiar quartz came from the shadows, Jasper. She had a menacing smile on her face, chuckling at the fusion. “So, this pathetic thing was yours? Of course, it was.” Stevonnie narrowed their eyes to Jasper. “What did you do to Lion?! He didn’t even do anything!”

“White Diamond did what was necessary, of course. She made a mental note of the organism from when you caused a scene at Homeworld and sent people down to retrieve it. It’s under her control. Now that my Diamond has returned to Homeworld, safe and sound...”  Jasper’s helmet poofed into existence as she took out her destabilizer. “It’s time that I take care of the rest of the crystal scrubs. Starting with you.” She charged at Stevonnie, landing a successful attack on them. The quartz punched the fusion, sending them onto the ground. The punch hurt a lot more than usual, the main culprit for that was probably Steven’s gem. Jasper cackled at their ‘weakness.’ “Come on now, I’ve seen you in battle Steven Universe.” Stevonnie’s expression changed. No more of that “Rose Quartz” mumbo jumbo.

“Stevonnie. But you actually know his name? You’re not calling us Rose?” Jasper squinted, shrugging. “I guess it makes sense for you to not be updated... Pink Diamond is Rose Quartz. She returned to us a few cycles ago.” Their eyes widened. The fusion stood up and dusted themselves off to stare blankly at Jasper. Confusion then spread across their face. Which turned into laughter shortly after. “Good one, Jasper. And White Diamond thinks I’m gullible enough to believe that…” All Jasper did was stare at the fusion. “I’m serious. Are you saying that my Diamond isn’t ‘my Diamond’?”

For Steven, it was out of the question for Pink Diamond or Rose Quartz to ever come back. He had her gem, of course. He didn’t connect the dots yet, still believing that Garnet’s theory was more correct than what Jasper was saying. “Right… Listen Jasper, I’m kind of on a mission… so can we just get this fight done with so I can free Lion of whatever state he’s in and figure out how to get my powers back.”

“Powers back?” The quartz then noticed the cracked gem. “Your able to fuse… with a cracked gem? And it’s that stable?” Stevonnie shrugged. It was a miracle how long the fusion had been able to hold up, though they were more sensitive to things. “That punch from earlier still hasn’t healed itself... We sort of lost our healing powers too. Well- Steven lost his healing powers. Wait, why are you curious about this instead of taking advantage of this newfound weakness?” The whole ordeal truly intrigued Jasper. With this information, she could hatch a plan to use it against them in the long run. “I’ll spare you. For now. Let’s go.” Jasper hopped on the mind-controlled Lion and teleported away, leaving Stevonnie dumbfounded. “We’re gonna have to tell the gems about this.”

Lion teleported Jasper directly to White Diamond’s ship, Jasper got from Lion and bowed before White. “My Diamond.” She started, doing the diamond salute as she looked at the shimmering gem. “I have new information that’ll surely help you with your plan to wipe out the crystal gems for good.” White raised an eyebrow, staring down at the orange quartz. “And what might this information be?” Jasper cleared her throat. Standing before such a high-ranking gem was nerve ranking for her still. “That specimen who disrupted you before. The one we thought was Rose.” She started, looking back at Lion then back up to White. “The organism they call ‘Lion’ belongs to them. Apparently, the gem is cracked. However, it was still able to fuse. Specifically with those humans.” The diamond narrowed her eyes at the quartz. “A human? We could use this against whatever that thing is. And where did you see the culprit at?” Jasper stammered over her words. “The crystal warps. My Diamond… It apparently calls itself a ‘Stevonnie’. At least that’s what it did when it’s fused. ‘Steven’ is the one that we need.”

White nodded, waving a hand. “You are dismissed. Your orders for now are to capture it. Take whatever measures are necessary. If we’re going to make sure that Pink stays in her place, we must take everything away from her. The colony was only but a mere distraction. Once we salvage as much as we can from that miserable rock...” White closed her eyes, her lips curled into a devilish smile.

“We’ll strip her of everything and throw her in the Prison Tower for centuries until she gets it through her head.”
