Chapter 2
Y/N and Blake stepped out of the school building to be hit by the cool mid day winter weather. It would hopefully be warming up soon, but until then Y/N kept her hat down and scarf tight.
“No Nathan today?“ Blake asked as she kicked a stone and walked beside Y/N.
“Nah. Hockey practice or whatever. He was grumpy, like usual so I just tuned him out.”
“Hm.” The two sophomore girls walked a few more blocks before Blake split off for home and Y/N continued to make her way to Midtown to pick up Peter. She honestly did not know how he survived school there with all the homework and debate team, but he seemed to make it work and she was more than happy to walk alone for a while and listen to the music playing through her headphones.
Once Peter was free from prison-science-school the two made their way the last couple of blocks towards the apartment they shared with Aunt May.
“Hey May,” Peter shouted out while Y/N hung her scarf and jacket.
“Hey kids. Good day at school?”
“Pretty good, there was this crazy car-“ Peter turned to see the Tony Stark sitting on his couch.
“Hey kid. Peter, right?,” he asked. Peter just stood there wide eyed and quiet. “You are who I’m here to see about the internships for high schoolers. Right?”
Peter stuttered a bit before Stark life’s his eyebrows as if to say go with it. “Yeah. That’s uh, that’s me.”
Y/N looked between her brother and the billionaire. Peter had never been a good liar.
“Well, I’m going to get changed. I have a shift at 5,” she said before quickly slipping out of the kitchen and into the hallway.
In their bedroom Y/N quickly opened the above head door where the Spider-Man suit fell out of. She took it, stuffed it in her work bag and closed the door before slipping on the stupid, cliché, blue and white work uniform for the diner a couple of blocks away.
She was on her way out of the bedroom and saw Stark and Peter waiting in the hall. She made sure she was out of the door before either one could realize anything suspicious about how lumpy her bag was.
She made her way out of the building and restarted her music.

Meanwhile, in their bedroom Peter watched as Tony poked around while hounding him about Spider-Man and his powers. Peter denied every allegation thrown his way but watched as Stark began to look up. Peter ran to stop him but Stark was too quick, opening the trapdoor; only for nothing to fall out of it. Tony could tell by the way Peter’s eyes widened that that was the usual space the suit was kept.
“What-“ Peter questioned before looking for the suit. It wasn’t caught up in the door and he specifically remembered putting it back in the hiding space last night after washing it. He had no idea where it could have gone, and began to panic.
Tony watched the hyperventilating kid in front of him and put the pieces together while Peter began to ransack his room. He turned on his heel and headed out the door, and back to the Tower without another word.

“So, the kid clearly isn’t as street smart as we might’ve thought, but that sister of his is real sharp. I pretty sure she’s not even supposed to know about his secret alias.” Tony clarified the next day as he debriefed Fury and the rest of the team about his attempt at recruiting the city’s new favorite hero. “And without any definite evidence we can’t really bring the kid in.”
The room was quiet for a moment before Fury spoke up in his gruff, baritone voice: “So, catch the sister. If she’s the one to go through, corner and catch her in the lie. You said she has a job?”
“Yeah, Carol’s. It’s a diner. Works there every weekday from 5 to closing at 2 in the morning.”
“That’s illegal. Use it. I don’t care what you have to do just bring Spider-Man in. The media has been a pain with him not on the team. Get her against a wall and force her to give in.” Fury said before storming out of the briefing room.
Tony considered his boss’s words for a second before speaking to the rest of the team. “Hm. Anyone feel like a burger?”
