Chapter 1
Scaramouche was looking out the window of the car watching the trees blow in the wind as they drove past them, the leaves on the ground swaying and bouncing around in the cool autumn breeze, Scaramouche loved this time of year, yet he did not like where he was going, He was starting college this year, Of course he was glad to leave Ei and Miko as they have always been a pain for him, So he chose to stay at the shared college dorms, he was scared to meet his new roommates incase they were worse than who he’s lived with for the past 18 years
“Are you excited dear?” Miko said softly to scaramouche, Scara always hated miko everything about her was annoying, Her voice, The way she moved, Everything she did just pissed scaramouche off
“Maybe” Scaramouche said with a slight harsh tone, He didn’t bother trying to be nice to miko or ei, he barely called them his parents, scaramouche always thought to them he was like a homeless person and they were his 'heros' because they let him live with them, They kicked him out when he was 9 But a year later they wanted him back, So of course they took him in again and tried to make it up to him, Scaramouche pretended to forgive them but any chance he got he went to visit his 'Aunt' in Sumeru, Nahida, She always managed to calm him down when something happened and gave him good ways to get his anger and frustration out without yelling at people, he wanted to make her proud so he always did what she said, The fact she didn’t force scaramouche to do anything and Let him do it in his own time is what made scaramouche like her more
“We’re almost there” Ei said, He wasn’t sure who she was talking to so he just nodded and looked back out the window, he saw all the fancy buildings in the city, Scaramouche always preferred places with more nature than these modern buildings, He always snuck out the house late at night and walked around the gardens admiring all the plants under the soft glow of the moon, he made sure Ei and Miko never knew he left, he got pretty good at sneaking out over the years since it was something he did every night
After a few minutes the car came to a stop, Scaramouche almost immediately got out the car when it stopped, he was eager to leave his old life behind, and that includes miko and ei
“If i didn’t know you i’d say you are eager to leave” Ei said while getting out the drivers seat walking to the trunk of the car
“I am” Scaramouche snapped back, he slammed the car door a bit hard and it shook the car, miko got out aswell and put her hand on his shoulder
“Calm Down Sweetheart”
Scaramouche shook her hand off his shoulder
“Don’t call me that. You two can leave i can deal with everything on my own”
“Hm, Are you sure my dear? Me and Miko would love to help you settle in!”
“I said I’m fine” Scaramouche took his bag from Ei and went inside to find his dorm
“They grow up so fast, I just hope he will visit us”
Miko came and put her arm around Ei
“I’m sure he will, he’s probably just tired right now, we should let him settle here in peace” Miko planted a kiss on Ei’s cheek
“You’re right dear, Come on let’s get home then”
And with that Ei and Miko left and Scaramouche was on his own.
