Maria said she would clean the ruined sandbag up. Sharon had sent Skye to her room to take a shower, while she herself went to make lunch for the three of them.
Maria was the first to come back, “So, that could have gone better,” Maria said, taking a piece of carrot into her mouth.
“Yeah, but it had to be done, after what Natasha said,” Sharon answered.
“While I was cleaning up, I was thinking,” Maria said.
“That’s new, did it hurt?” Sharon joked.
“Ha ha, very funny, no I was thinking about what we should do the rest of the day. What do you think about just relaxing and watching movies?” Maria asked.
“That sounds like a good plan, we can ask Skye if she wants to join us,” Sharon said, then asked if Maria would go and see if Skye was done and inform her that lunch was ready.
Maria went to Skye's room and knocked on the door. There was a ‘yeah’ from the other side, so Maria opened the door to Skye drying her hair.
“Hey, lunch is ready,” Maria said.
Skye gave her a small smile, “Thanks,” she said.
“Are you okay?” Maria asked a little concerned for the young wolf.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little hungry,” Skye said, removing the towel from her hair, and throwing it on the floor, just before the entrance to the bathroom. Maria shook her head, not saying anything about it.
While they were eating Sharon asked if Skye wanted to watch movies with them, which she agreed to.
So, after they had eaten and cleaned up, they moved over to the couches and started the first movie.
A couple of hours later they were still watching movies and had ordered pizza. Maria had just picked up a new slice when her phone pinged, signaling a new text, she went over to the dining table as she had left her phone there.
Sharon paused the movie when Maria got up.
Maria turned around when she had read the message and had a grin on her face. She looked at Skye, who was about to take another bite of her pizza but froze at Maria’s grin.
Swallowing nothing, Skye looked at Sharon and then back at Maria, “What?” Skye asked slowly.
Maria said nothing but walked back to the couch Skye was sitting frozen on, sitting down beside Skye, she took the slice out of Skye's hand, smirking at the pout Skye gave her when she did so.
Maria then grabbed Skye’s wrist, the one with the nanny bracelet on and brought it up to her face.
Skye was looking back and forth between Maria and Sharon, “What’s going on?” Skye asked, but no one answered her.
But then Maria spoke up again, “Disengage bracelet,” there was a small click and the bracelet fell on the couch.
“What, seriously?” Skye asked, first in confusion, and then disbelief.
“Peggy, Fury, Sharon, and I have been talking, and we figured you have had it on long enough. The message I just got was from Peggy, telling me I could take it off, and we thought you might like that,” Maria said, smirking.
“So, Skye, how does it feel to be a free woman again?” Sharon joked, ducking away from a pillow Maria sent her way.
Skye laughed, “It feels great,” Skye answered.
