Scrapped End Of The Road Chapter 3
In the subsequent next few days, Lena, Magica, Rockerduck and Jim Starling were all working on ways to get the book. That piece of information was definitely not enough though, and worse, the police force was beginning to receive information regarding their clan and began to initiate a crack down on their clan's brutal and radical tactics against F.O.W.L., which coincided with the fact that Interpol had since made its presence known in Duckburg.
Time was now against them.
Still, the clan leaders could really thank Lena and Starling, as they were in fact good observers. Some clues were found, and by piecing it together, initial details pointed to a snowy mountain around Eastern Europe.
"We really don't have much time anymore," Magica said, "so it's time we separate into teams in order to find it accordingly in two weeks’ time. Starling, you’re coming with me to scout the Northern area. Rockerduck, you'll lead the Beagle Boys to do the same thing in the Southern area, but you'll also have an additional mission."
"And that is?"
"A shipment is going to be delivered from Monacrow to Duckburg, and I need some of them to secure the deal. F.O.W.L. may intercept it at any time, and none of us wants that."
"Copy that." Rockerduck replied.
"Alright, time to pack up!" Magica ordered. "Everyone must be back here in exactly two hours from now!"
Lena was visibly confused as to why her aunt left her out, even though she was the one who helped them discover a major clue in the first place. Nonetheless, she decided to wait until everyone had dispersed.
“Now, Lena,” Magica turned to her niece, “I’m sure you’re confused as to why I left you out.”
Lena was evidently surprised but remained silent.
“Here’s the problem: technically we are still targeted extensively by your group of heroes as well. You missing out on their missions repeatedly in recent days will soon make them suspicious enough to bring their attention to our clan, once again.”
“I don’t think they’ll just assume like that.” Lena replied.
“You would think otherwise if you were me.” Her aunt shook her head. “Just listen to me: get back there, act normal around them, and I’ll update you when we find something.”
“...Since when did you become so protective?”
