Trip to Another Me

Finding one of their worlds

Peter looked down at the machine on his wrist, a creation of his own design. Of course he knew what it took to build it, stealing from a company he adores. Stark Industries security on their transfers and trash hasn't been as good since Tony died. He could easily work around the system, grabbing only what he needed. He knows stealing is wrong but this is important.

It has been two years since May died, Peter almost breaking the multiverse. Two years since he met the other Peters, his brothers. Peter 1 was what he called himself. Peter 2 was the eldest of the three, he had biological webs. How that was possible still baffled Peter, could he make his own webs eventually? Did a different type of spider bite him that bit Peter 2? So many questions that he may never get answers to, even when looking at his own genetics. He remembers that Tony did start sequencing his DNA, as a way to manufacture medication that may actually work for him. Not much was able to come out of it, only some painkillers that have long since expired.
Peter 3 was much more like Peter 1, they haven't healed yet. Gwen. Of course Peter remembers the name of the woman that meant so much for his counterpart, he recognized the pain in his eyes. He knew that Peter 3 forgave himself for Gwen's death while on his Earth, he saw the relief in his eyes as he caught MJ. The forgiveness of his past mistakes and the hope for a new direction.
Peter first attempt to access the multiverse lead to nothing, it was only 6 months after May's death. All he made was a very shiny flashlight. He made progress six months ago when he successfully created a portal in an abandoned warehouse, he leads the homeless that attempt to reside there to shelters. He watched it hold for 3 seconds before crashing into itself. He worked in his free time, outside of work, school, and Spidermanning, to get it right. He needs to know if the others are still okay, he can't think about those he lost on his world, until he knows that they are doing okay.
Maybe it was a selfish thing to not move on yet, but maybe he will get all he needs from this trip, or nothing at all. He only can take one step at a time.
Peter's drones captured different universes as he was able to get it to and from, this is his greatest achievement. He created multiversal travel, something that very limited people know about. Now Peter may be many things, but a monster is not one of them. He only used one mouse, a dog, and a horse as animal test subjects. Getting that horse to the warehouse was troublesome enough, he just needed go see if he would survive the trip. All animals survived their testing even with all their limbs, and were all given proper homes. He will miss Johnathan, he always wanted to have a pet horse. He even created a beacon to his universe, as a way to get back home. Spider-Man can't be gone for more than 2 days, he has had a pretty consistent record since May.

With the succulent in his hand, he approaches the grave he visits once a week. " Hey May," Peter begins brushing off the dirt from her grave, he never let's too much build up. "I did it, I created a way to travel the mulitverse. I can meet the other Peters again, you would have loved them." He places the little succulent on top of her headstone, getting as much sun as it's leaves can soak up. "I'm gonna try and find them, mark the worlds along the way. I made more beacons, so hopefully I can find them before I run out. I also made them their own portal bands, so they could come here if they want. The program is set to share all the beacons I make, so they can see everything I find. Our world is number 616," Peter sits crisscross in the grass, looking towards the sky. " For all the lives you saved after the blip, before you passed. Six hundred and sixteen. No matter where I go in this world, or any other world, you will always be my hero May."
Tears fill Peter's eyes, the clouds above turn into more blurs. "I have to live for the both of us now, enjoy everything for the both of us. We both know I can definitely eat for the two of us." A weak laugh escapes his lips, tasting a salty tear as it slips into his mouth. "However, I don't know if I have been living or surviving since you died. Spider-Man has been who I am, Peter Parker has gotten the back burner. I learned that from my mutant support group, we all have powers and no one to turn to. I need to help Peter now, and I think that means finding the other Peters first. I-" Peter stops as his eyes drift to the familiar black car pull on the road besides the cemetery. Happy. Standing up quickly, Peter looks at the headstone one last time. "I got to go. I'll tell you everything when I get back, have a good meeting with Happy." Peter turns and walks out of the cemetery, he can't talk to Happy. He can't talk to any of them.

Peter grabs his backpack that laid on his bed, prepacked with clothes, food, money, a repair kit for his portals, and his beacons. His suit lays under his main clothes, he figure it would be best to be prepared for anything. An emergency blanket is tied to the bottom, he doesn't know what to expect to find. He also has cash, but he doesn't know what he would do with it anyways. His pocket portal, the final step for stable portals and world travels, who knew a little ruby would be the solvation to all his problems? Luckily he stumbled across some broke pieces of a ruby, otherwise he'd still be at square 1. "You got this Peter." Launching the portal ahead of him, he tightens his straps and steps through.

The first new universe he found was one where everyone was paint, he never dropped anything fast enough. "Universe 151515 - Paint Gallery." Peter attached to the universe official description. "The first official universe that I traveled to. I am a lilac paint color, I wonder what that means about me. Lesson learned: your body may shift to the universe that is around it. Implement an emergency portal that will activate after 60 seconds if I don't shut off the portal. Prepare to become a grilled cheese." Peter doesn't know why he is fearful of becoming a grilled cheese, however, the fear still remains. "Notable things: Not much to note as my body physically felt it's genes shifting to paint. Spidey sense said get the hell out. Currency: Unknown"

"Universe 2 - Mirrorverse. Everything in this universe is backwards - words, doors, colors, everything is backwards. This universe has delicious pancake popcorn. Currency: Coins (found some on the ground as I journeyed around. Lesson learned: You may stand out in some universes - be prepared for anything. If Spidey sense goes off - get the fuck out. Notes: I want to make pancake popcorn when I get home. I don't know how they made poppable pancakes, but I must learn."

"Universe 1993 - Dinosaur Parks. Every similar to my world. Currency: USA Dollar.. (Thank god, I really wanted to try the fried dodo dount. It was not made of Dodos/) Lesson Learned: Your location may not be ideal at times, prepare yourself to run. Notes: How was I supposed to know that Mommy Woolie Mammoth would not want me to pet her baby? Additional note: Wear a mask, you may get a random disease that your Spidey immune system can't fight. I have gotten lucky so far."

"Universe 2187 - Lightsabers. I knew that Princess Leia was a badass! Currency: Cred. Lesson Learned: You can take items back with you, if you pay for them. Notes: I HAVE A REAL WORKING LIGHTSABER. I have a duel blue one, I will never get coolier in my life."

Peter jumped through his most recent portal. This is now Universe 17 he has jumped to and he has yet to spot a Spider-Suit swinging high. After his 6th universe, he has learned that he always will do to the same coordinates in the other universes. How he managed to catch the day that Princess Leia was visiting their New York's intergalactic market is amazing. He got a lightsaber and a photo to tell the tale. If only he could tell Ned about this, about all of this. Pushing the thought he had aside, he makes his way through New York streets. Night time has fallen and luckily he is in Queens, come on Spidey. Peter climbs the side of a building, trying to get a better view of his surroundings. This Queens looks fairly similar to his own, like the world where the Avengers have a reality television show. He is definitely returning to watch that at some point.

Landing on top of the building, he takes his surroundings in. Peter closes his eyes and focuses on the sounds surrounding him. A man is yelling at a kid for not completing his homework. A family is laughing around the dinner table, the eldest just shot milk out of his nose. A web is shot through the air. Peter's eyes shoot open, he knows the sound of webs. This one is just slightly different. With his webshooters activated, Peter sprints towards the edge of the building swinging towards the noise. Even if its not the other Peters, he can meet another Spider person. Peter slips a ski mask over his face, just in case this Spidey is a doppelganger. Peter swings high, doing flips and dives through the air. All the extra patroling as Spider-Man has given him time to improve on his tricks, senses, and fighting skills. Right now, any of those can be useful. Finally spotting a suit of red and blue, Peter lands on the roof next to the figure.

"Now gentlemen," The figure shouts out as three men turn to face him. All three quickly reach their hand towards their guns. Why do people get so ballsy with superheroes around? You'd think they learn at some point that crime isn't worth it. The Spider-Man below Peter leans against the wall at the entrance of the alleyway. "What have I told you lot about trying to do drug deals in this town? Drugs are bad. Now I may have been out of school for a while, but I still know that they tell you to not do drugs." The men all point their guns towards Spider-Man as he pushes off the wall. "Now," Spider-Man begins to walk towards them. "Are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?" Before the men can answer, Spider-Man webs out and grabs two of the guns, launching them behind him. As the last gunman looks at him in shock, he slowly puts his hands up and places the other gun on the ground. The Spidey below webs the mens' hands together just as police sirens start getting closer to their location. "It's been fun gentlemen, but I need to head home. I got a plate full of food with my name on it, and I would like to get it while its still hot."

"Nice work Spider-Man." Peter calls out below, his face unseen due to the mask resting on his face. The Spider-Man below looks up at Peter, the masks eyes narrowing at him. "It's a little warm for skiing, don't ya think?" Peter's spidey sense screams at him to move back, narrowly dodging the webs being shot up. "Why don't we have a convo somewhere else? I can clearly see that you've set this time aside to humiliate yourself in public, but I'm giving you a chance to back out." Peter smirks a little at his own voice, gotta love learning from petty work drama. A web lands on the corner of the building launching the Spider-Man into the air as Peter crosses his arms. Gaging from the conversation he had with the men below, he is on the older side of things. That can be useful for getting him to move. "Wow Grandpa, I'd thought you moved quicker than that, need a walker?" The Spidey before him places a hand on his hip. "No, need help getting that diaper change? I'm sure your parents are missing their baby boy." Good, this Spidey got the spark. "Let's find out Old Man." Peter threw a scrap piece of metal towards Spider-Man before launching himself off of the building. He starts to swing towards the direction that the Spidey came from. He just needs to get far enough to be out of view of the cops.

"Hey!" Spider-Man shouts as he attempts the catch up to Peter, unable to grasp the concept that someone else has webs. How did the masked man get them? Peter swings around a couple of buildings, moving to a part of town that has limited cameras in his world. He softly lands on a rooftop deck, knocking out the camera as he goes. Peter moves to sit on the one of the two lawn chairs that rest on top of the building. Spider-Man lands on the building as well, his masked eyes narrowing once more. "How did you get webs like that?" Spider-Man keeps his hands ready to move watching the masked man in front of him. Peter holds his hands in the air, signifying piece as he removes his mask. "Because I'm Spider-Man, just like you." Spider-Man in front of him gasps slightly, holding his hand in front of his face slightly. "Peter 1?" Peter finally found one of them, "Peter 2?" The Spider-Man in front of Peter pulls of his mask revealing Peter 2. Peter 1 puts his hands up, "Sorry about the old man comment, I just wanted to get us away from the cops. They aren't always the most friendly to me in my world, I figure it may be the same for you." The older Peter walks over to Peter 1 and pulls him into a hug. "You're right," Peter 2 says to Peter 1. "They typically aren't as bad as they used to be, but a second spider person may set them off a little." Peter 3 pulls back looking Peter 1 in the face, smiling brightly at his kind of younger self.

"How are you here? I thought the wizard guy fixed the multiverse with that forget me spell." Peter 1 smiles at the thought of Doctor Strange, he hasn't talk to the man in a while. "I built a device that would allow me to travel the multiverse. I even created a new particle to support it." Peter reaches into his bag and pulls out a black bag the size of a textbook. "This is for you." Peter 3 doesn't move to open the bag, instead he puts his mask back on. "Hey," Peter 2 hands it back to Peter 1, "Why don't you give this back to me once we get to my place? Kind of hard to swing with one hand full." Peter 1 smiles and nods before placing his ski mask back on. He knows that his suit is underneath, but he wanted to be more hidden in these worlds. Who knows how these people will react? Peter 2 moves to the edge, gesturing for Peter 1 to follow as he leaps off and into the air.

He finally found one of them, he can't wait to see what's changed.
