Note
I randomly had this idea a few weeks ago and I couldn’t get it out of my head so I had to start writing it! There’s definitely a lot of changes that I made to add more drama and for it to be more interesting but some ideas just wouldn’t make sense! But I love how it’s turning out so far! I’m about halfway through writing it so I hope you guys enjoy the first chapter!

You found me

Tony was sitting on the Quinjet, headed to a Hydra base. He was woken up from his sleep to the Avengers alarm blaring through his bedroom and he had been in a bad mood ever since.

The base was abandoned.

He knew that.

They checked it out a few months ago and found nothing so they closed it down and moved on. Tony knew it was a false alarm. How could it be real if they already declared it abandoned.

It was likely that an animal somehow got its way inside and triggered the alarm.

And now Tony was sitting on the Quitjet on a way too humid July morning. No, it wasn't even morning, it was the middle of the night, it was 3 fucking am and all Tony wanted to do was go back to bed since he already pulled an all nighter the night before and he needed to sleep in order to function.

“Let’s go over the plan once more.” Steve started speaking so Tony groaned and all eyes turned to face him. “Stark.”

“We already went over it. If someone here doesn’t know what we’re doing then you better speak up now.” Tony stood to his feet and placed his hand on Steve’s shoulder but Steve pushed it off. “Like I said before, it’s probably just a raccoon that tripped the alarm.”

Steve was not happy with Tony but then again, when was he ever. “You know we still have to check things out, Tony.”

Tony hummed. “It’s just a waste of time.” Natasha announced that they were landing in thirty seconds so Tony stepped into his suit. “Let’s go kick some raccoon ass.” He was the first one out, flying straight for a side door and blasting it open carelessly.

“FRIDAY, scan for heat signatures.” He began walking down the long hallway. It was filled with old, broken trolleys and dirt. It was obvious from the sight of it that it hadn’t been walked in by humans in a very long time.

“I am detecting no heat signatures, boss.”

Of course. Tony sighed and causally continued to walk through the hallway as if he were walking through a grocery store. He knew this was a waste of time.

“It’s all clear on the west side of the building.” Natasha spoke through the intercoms. Of course she was moving quickly. Meanwhile Tony was taking his sweet ass time.

“Sam? What do you have on the perimeter?” Asked Steve. Tony rolled his eyes behind his mask. There was nothing. He knew this was a waste of everyone’s time.

“All clear on one side. I’m going to check the other side now.”

Tony turned down a hallway that had a door at the end of it but it wasn’t like any other door in this base. This door was like a door you’d find on a boat. A door that kept water out. He walked towards it, a bit more alarmed now.

He walked towards it and tried to listen for something but all he could hear was the creaking sounds of the old building. “FRIDAY? Got anything?”

“I am not detecting anything, boss. It appears empty.”

Tony nodded. Good.

He placed his hands on the wheel and began turning it to unlock it, hoping that he wasn’t unlocking some sort of underground water tank that was going to drown everyone in here. He got it unlocked and slowly began to open it, making sure no water was coming out.

Once he was sure water wasn’t behind the door, he opened it fully and stepped inside. It was dark. He turned to start touching the wall for a switch or something and when he found one, he flipped it on and the lights lit up, moving down the long, white hallway.

Shit.

Everything looked cleaned.

Maybe he was wrong…

“I found something. On the East wing. It looks like another part of the base.” Tony spoke into the comms and continued walking but even through his suit, all he could smell was chemicals. Strong chemicals. Like… cleaning supplies.

What the hell was going on here?

“We’re coming your way, Stark. Wait for us.” Steve responded but Tony was never one to listen to orders.

He began walking and spotted a door with a black spider emblem on the front of it. He carefully walked towards it and placed his hand on the door handle, about to open it up but he was being shot at.

“Fuck.” Tony aimed his repulsers and took out two guys before flying down the hallway, moving towards them. He blew open a door to some kind of lab.

“How many?” He asked FRIDAY, looking at all the men there dressed in white lab coats. They all stopped to turn to Tony with fearful eyes, two grabbed guns to start shooting at him.

“Seven unarmed men and four armed men, sir.”

Perfect. Tony scanned them all and took them all down in one motion. This was almost too easy-

He was thrown across the room by a blast going off. Tony groaned and forced himself to sit up. “FRIDAY, what the fuck was that?”

“There are five heat signatures down the hallway. I am detecting a homemade bomb, sir. I suggest you wait for back up.”

Like hell he was going to wait.

He stood up and flew down the hallway, going in the opposite direction that he came from.

“I think this is a trap.” Sams voice came through. “It looks like there’s a trail of footprints leading into the forest.”

“Fuck.” Tony swore and shot down another guy. “There’s some in here. Not everyone left!”

“I’m coming to you, Stark.” Natasha announced and not even ten seconds later, she showed up, taking another guy down for Tony. “You think it’s a trap?”

Tony didn’t know. “I think most got out once they found out we were coming. These guys stayed for whatever reason.”

“Maybe to destroy evidence.” She suggested.

Tony paused and looked towards the way he came from, not understanding why he felt the need to move in that direction. “I’m gonna go this way. You go that way. Keep me updated.”

“You too.”

He flew back in the other direction and stopped just outside of the door with the spider emblem.

Tony placed his hand on the door handle and turned it. He walked into the room, not knowing why he expected it to be filled with cages of new spider species but instead he walked in on something much more scarier.

A child’s bedroom.

Tony stepped in and looked around. There was a small bed against the wall with baby blue bedding that had dinosaurs on it. There was a side table beside it with an empty glass of water on it and a dresser stacked with children’s toys sitting on top of it.

“What the fuck.”

He stepped into the room further but he didn’t make it very far since he was being kicked out of the room and thrown against the opposite wall. He groaned loudly. That hurt.

Tony stood up, looking back at the indent he made in the wall. He turned to face the door, expecting to find one of the men with the supposedly homemade bombs or some random technology they were working on down here but instead, stood in front of him was a child.

Tony froze.

His heart started picking up as he thought about why the hell these men wanted a child down here.

And also he noted that the child had super strength.

“Hey. Hey. I’m not going to hurt you.” Tony lifted his arms up in surrender and the child tilted its head at him like he didn’t understand. “Do you speak English?”

The child didn’t respond.

Tony tried again. He definitely didn’t know any words in Russian so he couldn’t try that. Natasha knew though. “There’s a child here.”

“A what? What did you say, Stark?” Steve sounded just as Tony was feeling. Confused and disgusted at the thought of an innocent child being here.

“A kid. A small human.”

“How old is it, Tony?”

Tony groaned. “I don’t know. Maybe ten years old. Younger. I don’t know.” Tony knew absolutely nothing about children. He actually hated them. They were loud, disgusting and had no idea what the word personal space meant. “I think it’s a boy.” He observed judging by the looks of the child.

He had curly brown hair that hung in his eyes. From what Tony could see, he had brown eyes as well. Big brown eyes that were staring into Tony’s soul. He was small, and not just his age but his build, it was obvious he wasn’t eating what he should be.

He was wearing a green shirt that had an airplane on it and was too small for him as Tony could see a bit of his belly poking out. His grey track pants were almost too small since his ankles were showing. He was wearing dirty, mismatched socks and overall it looked like he hadn’t had a shower in a very long time.

Tony noticed two black bracelets on either of his wrists.

He wondered what those were for but he didn’t have to wonder long because Natasha walked over to them, carefully moving once she spotted the child.

Tony gestured to him. “See if he speaks Russian. He doesn’t seem to understand me.”

“Rebenok kak tebya zovut? Chto ty zdes' delayesh'? Eto tvoy dom?” Natasha spoke and the boy looked even more confused now. She shook her head at Tony. “I don’t think so.”

Tony removed his face mask and sighed and the boy's eyes lit up upon seeing Tony’s real face that wasn’t hidden behind a face mask. “Iron Man.”

“Yeah. That’s me.” Tony looked up and down the hallways. “Can you tell me your name?”

The boy hesitated, looking uncomfortable and scared in the presence of new people. Superhero’s at that.

“Peter.” He spoke in a small voice. So he did speak English after all.

“Peter. I’m Tony. How about we get you out of here? Would you like that?”

Peter didn’t seem to like that idea but he didn’t protest. He gave a slight nod of his heart and so Tony looked at Natasha, they were actually doing this. They were taking a child back with them, a child who probably only knew abuse and torture his whole life.

When they got to the doors to leave, Peter stopped walking.

Tony turned back to look at him. “Come on. Our ride is this way, kid.”

Peter pointed to himself. “Peter.”

Huh. Tony nodded. “Yes. Peter. Let’s go.” He looked behind them, hoping no one was coming after them.

Peter carefully stepped onto the grass as if it would burn him. Tony figured that’s what he was told. He watched as the boy wiggled his feet in the slightly damp grass and then he looked up at the night sky above them as if he’d never seen anything like it before.

Tony felt anger build within him. He obviously knew this child wasn’t treated kindly here and the thoughts of everything he could have gone through made Tony want to kill everyone here.

As he looked down at the boy, he noticed how carefree he looked, even for a short moment as he felt the grass beneath his feet and got to breathe in the fresh, outdoor air, looking up at the stars in the sky.

Tony turned to see Steve walk out, thinking it was one of Hydra's soldiers so he stepped between Steve and the kid protectively before realizing who it actually was.

Steve’s eyes were glued on the boy but he didn’t say anything.

The Quinjet landed in the distance and that was their cue to leave so Tony started walking but paused to turn to see if the kid was following behind him. “We have to get going.”

Peter cautiously walked behind them and got onto the jet, standing there and looking at Tony. The door shut but except for a flinch, Peter didn’t react to it.

As Tony stepped out of his suit, he watched Peter carefully, not fully trusting him. Yeah, he may be a child but he was a child with super strength and who knows what else. He did come from Hydra after all.

Steve knelt down in front of the boy. “I’m Steve. Do you speak English?”

Peter narrowed his eyes at him.

That’s when Steve turned to look back at Tony. “He understands us. I think.”

With a nod of confirmation, Steve turned back to look at the boy. “Can you tell me what you’re doing here? At Hydra.”

Peter didn’t say anything and looked back at Tony, looking like he was scanning him with his eyes. Tony wouldn’t be surprised if he was, Hydra didn’t care, they wouldn’t stop at anything to create a super soldier, even if that included an innocent child.

And in this case, it did.

“How long have you been here?” Steve tried again but it didn’t look like Peter was going to speak and Tony knew he was probably terrified, even if he wasn’t showing it too much.

“You can ask him later. Let’s just get back to the tower first.” Tony took a seat on the bench and noticed that Peter was still standing up, wobbling slightly from the jet. Tony gestured to one of the seats a bit away from everyone else, thinking the kid would be more comfortable at a distance. “How about you take a seat, kid. We’ve got a bit still before we land.”

Peter listened, taking a seat where Tony pointed to but he still stared at him. Tony tried not to let it make him uncomfortable, kids stared. They didn’t have an understanding for it being weird, and in this case, creepy.

Tony tried to ignore the kids staring for the rest of the ride. Once they landed, Tony stood to his feet and grabbed his suit in the case it turned itself into. He gestured for Peter to follow him and Peter did. “Let’s go. You need a shower first and then we’ll talk.”

Peter tilted his head, confused but not saying anything.

He followed Tony out of the jet and onto the platform, looking around curiously with a hint of being terrified in his eyes.

“Don’t you think he should be going to the MedBay first?” Steve walked out after them. Of course Steve would want that. Steve cared that Peter was only a child, Tony could see that but Tony knew that Steve wanted to make sure Peter couldn’t hurt them before anything else.

Tony sighed. Technically he knew Steve was right. “I think the kids had enough poking and prodding at him for a life time.”

“Tony.”

Steve was using his captain eyes so Tony looked away. “Fine. We’ll stop by. Let’s go, kid.” Peter followed after him, not even second guessing Tony’s orders.

They walked into the MedBay and the doctors that either woke up early or hadn’t gone to bed yet, turned to look at them, eyes going wide when they landed on Peter next to Tony’s side.

“Dr. Cho, can you come take a look at Peter here. Just a quick examination.” He opened a door to one of the many MedBay rooms and shut it behind them.

Tony trusted her but he knew Peter seeing another doctor could be a scary experience for the boy.

“Mr. Stark, can you tell me who this is?” She asked as she washed her hands and put gloves on then moved to the examination table. Peter stood by the door with an almost boring look on his face.

“This is Peter. We found him at a Hydra base.” He hated how that sounded like he was talking about a dog and not an actual living breathing child who had feelings. He felt so sick and angry at the whole situation.

He also didn’t miss the way anger crossed Cho’s face before she put a poker face on and gestured for Peter to step towards the bed. “Can you come and sit up here, Peter?”

Peter didn’t move so Tony spoke. “It’ll be quick. Can you go sit up there, kid?”

Without any hesitation, Peter walked towards the exam table and climbed onto it, lying down and staring at the ceiling, a distant look appearing on his face. Tony wondered if he was dissociating, trying to put his mind anywhere but right here. He moved to stand by the boy's side instead. “Hey. It’ll be quick. Nothing to worry about.”

“You can sit up, Peter. You don’t have to lie down.” Dr. Cho spoke so Peter sat up and swung his legs back and forth, watching the doctor through his long eyelashes. “Can you tell me how old you are?”

Peter held up six fingers and then went to seven then back down to six. Tony didn’t know a lot about kids but he knew the kid sitting in front of him was older than six or seven.

“You’re seven?”

Peter nodded then shook his head, holding up eight fingers now, looking at Cho. That was his final answer. He was eight, he thought so anyways. He wasn’t sure.

Cho wrote something down then grabbed a popsicle stick. “Can you open your mouth wide for me and say ahh.”

Peter opened his mouth and screamed.

Both adults were startled at the sudden scream. “Geez, kid. Stop. Why are you screaming?” Tony had to place a hand over his racing heart. He thought Peter was hurt but he wasn’t. He was just sitting there.

“Oh. I believe it is because I told him to say ahh.” Cho tried another time. “Okay. Can you just open your mouth for me?” She waited for Peter’s mouth to open then she looked at his teeth, trying to determine his age from that.

She could see that he was around 11 or 12 years old. Definitely not six or seven. She nodded and wrote that down. The next examination part consisted of Cho listening to Peter’s heartbeat, looking in his ears and eyes and taking some blood.

At the end of it, Tony told Peter to wait outside the room so Tony could have a private talk with her. He shut the door to make sure Peter wasn’t listening. “So? How old is he?”

“It’s hard to get an exact age based off of that small examination but I’d say either eleven or twelve years old. He looks awfully small even for that age, Stark.” She looked longingly towards the door, something on her mind.

“What else aren’t you saying?”

“He hasn’t gone through puberty yet. Perhaps he’s actually a girl with short hair. I mean, I’m just thinking out loud. I can’t know for sure based on that examination.”

Tony nodded. “His name is Peter though. That’s a boys name. Okay… I’m not sure now. I…” He hated this. Why was a fucking child given this kind of life? It made no sense.

Cho sat at the computer. “By having that child there already proves that they do not care about him. So if he is actually a girl, you really think they’d care what her name is.”

Tony agreed with that. “Alright. Thanks for your help.” He walked outside and found Peter sitting on the floor, looking absolutely exhausted all of the sudden. Tony felt the same way but he wasn’t getting any sleep tonight.

He wanted to find out who the hell this child was.

He pressed the button for the elevator. “I think you’ll be a lot more comfortable sitting down on a bed, kid. How about a shower and then I’ll take you somewhere you can sleep.”

Peter stepped into the elevator and looked up at Tony again, staring at him. “I know I’m good looking and all that, but can you stop staring at me? It’s kinda creepy.”

Peter immediately stopped and shifted on his feet, making Tony feel bad. He didn’t have time to say anything though since the elevator was opening so Peter followed Tony out, trying to walk exactly where he was stepping.

“Boss, Steve Rogers is requesting access to your floor.”

Tony groaned and Peter started looking wildly around for the mysterious female voice. “Huh?”

“Tell him I’m busy.”

“He’s insisting, sir.”

Tony rubbed at his eyes. Fuck. He was tired. “Fine. Tell him to give me an hour.” He looked back at Peter and saw him looking up at the ceiling, trying to find the source of the voice. He thought he looked kinda adorable but he never thought anything was adorable so why was he thinking that now? He pushed those thoughts away. “That’s FRIDAY. She helps me. She’s kinda like… my assistant.”

Peter nodded, looking like he didn’t really understand that.

“Shall I show you to the bathroom?” Tony waited for Peter’s reaction to see if he actually wanted to follow him or not. He didn’t know if Peter actually wanted a shower but Tony felt like they needed to start with getting him cleaned up before they did anything else.

Although Tony wanted him to get a good night's rest before they started asking him questions.

He led Peter down the hallway to one of the spare bedrooms, not fully trusting him to go upstairs where Tony’s and Pepper’s bedroom was. He opened the door to the attached bathroom and grabbed two towels for the kid.

“There’s soap in there. Take your time. I think you’ll feel a lot better once you get all that dirt and sweat off.” And whatever else is on your body.

Peter gave Tony a tiny nod and moved towards the shower, looking at it strangely. “You showered at Hydra, right?” Peter nodded but it didn’t look like he was even listening to the question. “Okay. So you just turn this handle for cold and this one, for hot. I’ll be outside if you need me.” Which he hoped Peter didn’t.

Peter stepped towards the shower and Tony spotted the black bracelets on his wrist again. “Wait, can you take those off first-”

“No!” Peter held his arms against his chest protectively.

“Okay.” He thought for a moment. “But maybe if they get wet, it’ll be ruined. I can keep them safe for you until you get out.”

Peter never took them off. He wasn’t allowed but Tony was in charge now so reluctantly, he pressed the button on the side and pulled them both off, placing them in Tony’s awaiting hand.

“I’ll hold onto them until you get out of the shower.” He repeated and then left the bathroom, shutting the door behind him and walking back into the kitchen to get a better look at these bracelets.

They were black and metal and seemed very advanced.

Tony put it under the light and could see a tiny blue light on both of them. “FRIDAY, what are these? Are they some kind of tracker? A camera?”

“I am unable to get a reading on the objects, sir. I suggest you bring them down to your lab for observation.”

Tony knew that would take some time and he told Peter he’d give it back to him after his shower. Maybe the boy took them off to sleep.

“Sir, I am sorry but Steve Rogers is demanding I let him up.”

With a sigh, Tony reluctantly agreed and not even two minutes later, Steve was walking out of the elevator with Natasha and Clint. Tony groaned. “I didn’t realize I was having a party on my floor.”

“We’re just coming up to see if you were still alive.” Clint said, annoyingly.

Tony rolled his eyes. “And why wouldn’t I be?”

“Because you have a child from Hydra with you.” Clint was way too quick with that answer.

“Where is he, Tony?”

Tony turned to open the fridge and get himself a water. “Actually, Cho said it’s possible he’s actually a girl. Judging by his size and potential age.”

Steve looked annoyed. “Tony. He, she, whoever. They’re dangerous. Who knows what they’re capable of. They are dangerous. Extremely.”

“You don’t know that. Whoever the hell they are, okay, he’s a fucking child. A child. Cho says he’s eleven or twelve years old. Do you have any idea how scared he is? I’m not gonna lock him in a jail cell and keep him in there while we interrogate him.”

“He can be incredibly dangerous.”

Tony turned to look at Clint. “You have kids. How are you not on my side right now.”

“I’m on the reasonable side. Tony. We know nothing about this kid. He could literally kill you in one motion. Ever think of that.”

Tony shrugged. “He’s not going to kill me.”

“He can. You don’t know him.” Steve added so Tony shrugged again.

“I’ll take my chances.” He took another sip of his water and gestured for them to leave. “Want me to walk you guys out.”

Steve wasn’t going to leave so easily. He looked around. “Where’s the child, Tony?”

“He’s in the shower.”

“Tony.” Natasha spoke for the first time since coming to his floor. “Fury and General Ross will want to talk to the kid.”

“You called them?!”

“Not yet. But we will in the morning.” She stepped closer to him. “Tony. We know nothing about him. He obviously has… special abilities. Ross will take him and help him. We can’t do that here.”

Tony scuffed. “Oh please. Help him? They’ll only want to continue on with Hydra’s work and turn him into the next Bucky Barnes.”

He saw that he hit Steve in a soft spot. Bucky was back from Wakonda but he was still recovering. Tony didn’t want that to be Peter. He didn’t know why he felt so protective over the boy at the idea of Ross taking him.

Maybe it was because he was so young and vulnerable. Tony didn’t know.

“Tony,” Natasha spoke again. “We have to call. You know we do.”

He knew that. “Yep.”

“Just be careful.” She said, pausing before turning to leave. Tony waited for the elevator doors to close before looking up from the bracelets.

He then realized how long it had been since Peter went into the shower. Surely he should have been done by now. “FRIDAY, is the kid okay?”

“Peter is currently standing in the shower.”

That was weird. He walked down the hallway, walked into the bedroom and knocked on the bathroom door. “Hey, kid. You okay in there?” He didn’t exactly know what kind of response he expected. “Can I come in?” He still didn’t get a response so Tony slowly opened the door, giving Peter the chance to tell him to leave.

He felt uncomfortable but he walked in and saw the kid standing in the shower, looking at him almost like a robot. It was actually pretty freaky. “Kid? You good?”

Peter nodded slowly but he was shaking slightly and his lips were almost blue. Tony stepped closer to the shower, stepping on the dirty clothes the boy took off. “Are you done?”

Peter nodded so Tony slowly reached in to turn the water off and when his hand touched the water, he hissed and brought his hand back. It was freezing. “Peter. This water is freezing. What’re you doing?” Tony quickly turned it off and turned to grab a towel, wrapping it around the boy’s shoulders and pulling him out of the shower. “You’re crazy, you know that?”

It didn’t look like Peter understood him. He only looked up at him with big brown eyes, his wet eyelashes clumped together. With his hair wet and slicked back, it made him look impossibly younger and Tony was dying to know his age. He was dying to know his story.

Peter blinked at him. “I’m not capable of anything.”

It was Tony’s turn to blink at him now. Not only was the kid speaking in a full, complete sentence which Tony wasn’t sure he was capable of doing not even a minute ago but he apparently heard his conversation with Steve, Natasha and Clint. Yikes. And how?

“What?” Was all Tony could say.

“And I’m not a girl.” He added, narrowing his eyes at Tony slightly.

Okay. Wow.

So he heard and understood what they talked about. He chuckled weakly. “Well, I saw that.” Peter didn’t react so Tony cleared his throat. “How did you hear that?”

“I have ears.” Tony knew Peter didn’t mean to sound sassy but he did.

“I can see that too.” He decided not to ask questions right now since it looked like the boy's eyes were fighting with everything they had left to stay awake. “You look tired. How about you sleep and wake up when you feel well rested and then we can talk, yeah?”

Peter didn’t know what else to say so he agreed. “Yes.” He followed the man into the bedroom where there was a shirt laid on the bed.

“It’s mine. I know it’s big but it’s all I have.” He watched Peter drop the towel in front of him without a care in the world so Tony looked away and pretended to find the wall very interesting until Peter was decent. “All good? Crawl into bed, you’ll sleep here tonight.”

Peter looked at the bed. “Big.”

“Yeah. It’s very big.” As Peter crawled onto it and laid down, the bed looked like it was going to swallow his tiny body whole. “How about you get under the blankets. You’ll be a lot warmer and comfortable under there.”

Peter did as he was told, gripping a handful of the sheets in his hands. “Sleep now?”

“Yeah. It’s time for bed.” He didn’t know why Peter spoke in a complete sentence before and now he had the vocabulary of a two year old. He didn’t mention it though. He handed Peter back his bracelets that Peter immediately put on his wrists. So he gave a bit of a forced smile to the boy and with a goodnight, he left the room, turning off the light and shutting the door behind him.

Peter turned onto his side to face the window, the moonlight shining through the gaps in the curtains. He found it slightly comforting to know he was so close to outside.

.

.

.

Seven hours earlier.

Peter sat in a room, his feet dangling off the chair that was too big for him.

He stared down at his lap, waiting for people to enter the room and go over it again with him. He was scared but he wasn’t allowed to show it. Not for this. They trained him for this, they trained him to kill, even though he’s never actually killed anyone before.

The door opened up so Peter sat up straighter, watching two men walk in.

“Peter, how are you tonight?”

“Good.” He replied in a small voice.

“That’s good.” Both men took a seat across from him so Peter wrapped his arms around his stomach in a poor attempt to self comfort himself. “Let’s go over the plan again.”

Peter looked off to the side. “I already know it. Kill Tony Stark.”

“Well clearly you don’t know the plan because you missed a bunch of steps, Peter. I’m not very happy about that.”

Peter let out a puff of air and carefully examined the man sitting in front of him.

“Start from the beginning.” He ordered.

Peter hated this so much. “I’ll be in my room when you evacuate. The Avengers will come in looking for something but they’ll find me instead and bring me back with them. I’ll stay close to Tony Stark and get information for you. When I got everything you need, I’ll kill him and escape, then you’ll pick me up and take me home.” He recited everything off the top of his head, knowing exactly what he was supposed to be doing.

“Good boy.” Peter grinned at the praise but it quickly fell once he made eye contact with the man. He pulled out a folder and placed a picture in front of Peter. “Who’s this?”

“Tony Stark.” Peter stared into the man’s eyes. He was scared to meet the man and be forced to go home with him. He was told that Stark was a bad man and needed to be taken out and that he was the only one capable of doing that. He was worried that maybe The Avengers would be even worse than the men here, maybe they would hurt him even more.

“Good. And who’s this?” He placed another picture in front of Peter.

“Steve Rogers. Captain America.” He named every single person in the pictures placed in front of him but his eyes were more focused on Tony, since he was the one that Peter was going to have to kill. He clenched his fist, not even realizing that someone was standing behind him until there was a hand on the back of his neck. He flinched.

“Good boy. You’ll make me very proud, my little spider. Now, go get a good nights rest, the Avengers come tonight.”

Peter gave a slight nod. “Yes, Ross.”
