You rushed down the hall of the almost empty Horizon lab to one of doctor Morbius's secret laboratories right after you've heard some strange and loud noises and, being Michael's nurse and his trainee, you had to check what was going on. As you got closer to the door leading in the lab, lights around started flickering creepily like in a horror movie, but you ignored it, after all, it was practically midnight and everyone went home hours ago, so you were lucky to find any light. You opened the door slowly stepping into complete darkness.
- Doctor Morbius? Are you in here? - the answer you were greeted with were those bizarre noises, like someone was trying to to break through the glass.
You contemplated leaving, but curiosity took over, you just hoped you wouldn't end up like the cat in the saying. Turning on muffled blueish lights, you couldn't see anyone at first. A few seconds later, however, you heard more banging sound and finally found him. The doctor was inside a special glass cage, used only for some dangerous experiments. Something told you what you were witnessing was, in fact, one of them.
- Doctor Morbius? Are you okay? Should I call someone to help?
No response.
The closer you got, the more you noticed how different he looked compared to the last time you saw him and how unusual.
Behind the glass, he was standing on his own, his usually pale skin now looked practically tanned. Through the unbuttoned white shirt you could catch a glimpse of his chiseled chest and arms. And his blue eyes, those eyes that made you his prisoner from the second you met, those eyes seemed both brighter and darker than usual. Something was off about his behavior - he was shaking, running inside the room like mad, attempting to break free, to break the glass. It seemed he didn't even notice your presence for a while, but as his eyes eventually met yours, you could swear they looked blood red for one second. It was insane, you had no idea what happened to the doctor, yet you knew you had to help him in any way you could. You took a step closer to him.
- Dr. Morbius? Can I help you somehow? Are you okay?
Again, no reaction. It seemed as he couldn't hear or see you at all.
- Dr. Morbius? - you said louder, - Michael? - added softly.
His head snapped up. Michael froze and starred at you with his ocean blue eyes - so inhuman, still piercing through your very soul.
- Michael, what happened? - you whispered as if you didn't want to spook him, - whatever happened I can help you, okay? I'm coming inside now.
Michael fell to his knees suddenly, bringing a bloodied finger to the glass wall, as he wrote one word hurriedly and illegibly. You felt completely shocked.
- Blood? Are you hurt? Do you need a doctor? - you panicked.
He simply underlined the word, when it hit you.
- You mean the blood from the freezer? Fine, I'll bring it to you right now, okay? Just calm down please.
You backed to the lab's freezer slowly, not wanting to turn away from him. As you looked inside what used to be a big storage full of blood and its artificial substitute, it was empty. Totally empty. All the supplies were gone in just one week when you haven't checked it. "He couldn't have used it all, could he? And why does he need this blood in the first place? " - you thought, as your hands started shaking a little. You desperately wanted to help Morbius, you didn't have any idea how though. Maybe, he needed a doctor, or he needed pills? Or to look for the blood somewhere else?
But how would you know if you couldn't hear him speak through the glass wall? You had to let him out, since he obviously couldn't keep sitting there all night.
- Dr. Morbius, I'll open the door and let you out now, alright? - you asked as you started typing in the code on the locker. Quite beeping was the only thing you heard.
You opened the door, yet he didn't move from the furthest corner that you hadn't noticed him moving to in the first place. He didn't even raised his head, his dark silky hair hiding his face from you.
You stepped inside reluctantly, something about the whole situation frightened you. He didn't though, he never did, but the darkness all around...
- Michael, I am sorry there is no blood left in the freezer, but we can figure something out, let's come out of here?
- I can't. I can't, - he whispered almost inaudibly, - you have to leave, Y/n, - added a bit louder.
- What? No! You can't just stay here! Come on! - you knew you wouldn't leave. Not without him. Michael had to know it too.
- You! You are the one who can't be here. I have to! - he screamed and finally looked at you, raising up, - I am dangerous and you have to leave.
- I won't. We both know I won't, - you took a step closer, - I care about you, Michael.
- Leave! - he growled, his eyes gleamed red for a second again, this time, however, you were sure it wasn't your imagination.
- Leave, Y/n! You... you have no idea what happened to me. It all went wrong. And now... I am dangerous. I've hurt people when I was much less hungry than I am right now, - his voice barely sounded human.
You breathed out, terrified. But, as if your mind couldn't control your body anymore, you only stepped closer to Michael. Silently, you stared at him. His eyes, back to the blue, seemed darker than they've ever been. Their hypnotizing beauty left you powerless against him. Like magnets, they made you take one more step towards him.
- Michael...
- Don't! I can't control myself. I've hurt people and I've killed people. And at this moment, all I can think about is how much I want you. I want to hurt you. And I want to taste your blood, drink it like wine till the very last drop.
You felt your heart pounding in your ears so much it was difficult to hear anything. What was happening?!
Naively, you thought touching his hand would make him calm down. It didn't. Michael took your hand and pulled you to him in a flash. In the next second, you could feel his strong arms around your body like a cage. The cage you didn't want to break free from. His face was millimeters away from yours, his body glued to yours. You could feel him like never before; your chests touching with every breath, his arms holding you close protectively, possessively even, his warm breath tickled your skin, his eyes looked straight into your soul. At that moment he could have done anything he pleased with you, you wouldn't stop him. All you wanted was for him to kiss you and so he did. The overwhelming passion of it made your knees so weak you would have probably fallen down if he hadn't been holding you. A tiny voice in the back of your mind reminded you of his words, of the danger but you silenced it by deepening the kiss.
No one has ever kissed you that hard before and you loved it. Unexpectedly, Michael bit on your lower lip drawing blood. Licking the blood, he groaned. "That's what he was talking about. That's who... what he became. A vampire" - the thought appeared in your head, making the world spin around even worse, - "And I'm about to be his next victim".
The next thing you knew he turned your head to the side fast yet somewhat gently, exposing your neck to him. You felt Michael's fangs sharper than razors pierce through your skin making the blood leave your body. Somehow, it wasn't as scary as you expected it to be. You didn't attempt to scream or fight or do anything else these stupid girls in movies do as soon as they see a vampire. After the bite, the pain faded, being replaced this floating-like feeling you've never felt before. Michael's hand petted your hair lovingly, the other - hugging your waist, his mouth on your neck felt practically erotic. You only wanted to push him closer, not away.
To Michael Morbius no blood has tasted nearly as good as yours. The insatiable hunger he felt just a minute ago was long forgotten. That, however, didn't mean he wasn't craving for more of your blood - so sweet, like the person it belongs to Y/n, who was lying defenseless beneath him, so fragile in his arms. As Michael looked in your face, your closed eyes, your lips, he realized he couldn't kill you. Couldn't let you die. Not you. Not his Y/n. Not by his hands or anyone else's. And then, he stopped, pulled away from your neck, still holding you to him.
You opened your eyes to see his fangs disappear.
- M...Michael? - your voice trembled as you tried to ask the obvious question. How were you alive? He was about to kill you, and you'd let him.
- Y/n, I am so sorry, - he whispered.
- Don't be. I've dreamed of being bitten by a vampire since the first time I've watched "Dracula".
He looked so much better now - more human, yet not exactly the way he had before. Better. He didn't seem hungry anymore, though still breathing heavily, eyes glued to your lips. You felt his hands around your waist, remembering that he hasn't let go of you, and you wished you could stay like that forever.
- But I do hope, - you whispered in his ear, - that this isn't the only thing you crave from me, - you looked at him innocently, never mind the sultry voice.
Michael stared into your eyes. His own, full of lust, somehow became even a darker shade of blue.
- No, it's not. - he licked his lips of blood, - I want all of you, Y/n, - said Michael, pulling you in the most passionate, breath-taking kiss of your life.
