Chapter 2

“I have grown to love secrecy. It seems to be the one thing that can make modern life mysterious or marvelous to us. The commonest thing is delightful if only one hides it.

-The Picture of Dorian Gray (Oscar Wilde)

‘The door to her cell was opened!’ Agent L.O.L thought ‘Her cell door was open!’

Without looking up from her book, Agent L.O.L spoke to who she assumed was Kang. “Finally! Do you have any idea how long it has been since I’ve been feed.”

“I don’t.” answered a blonde woman Agent L.O.L didn’t know.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you were someone else.” She stood up motioning to the cell, “Would you like to come in? I promise not to tell Kan…The Timelords.”

“Kang is dead.” the blonde woman replied with a hint of pain in her voice.

“HE IS WHAT!” Agent L.O.L yelled, she hated him as much as the next person, but killing the man was not the solution. In fact it only made things a thousand times worse, for everyone, not only Agent L.O.L. She paced the room, panic clearly written all over her face, “Why? How? Who?”

“I killed him, I betrayed all of my friends.” The blonde woman could barely get the words out, “I thought it would make things better, right, but now everything has…”

“Gone to shit.” Agent L.O.L looked around her cell at all the papers and plans, all her books and thoughts. “This isn’t good.”

“I’m sorry for bothering you,” the blonde woman told the girl apologetically, “I was just looking around and stumbled across this room.”

“This isn’t my room!” Agent L.O.L said sharply, her face burning from the tears, she was trying to hide.

“It’s not!?”

“This is my cell.” Agent L.O.L thought that explained everything perfectly, but the blonde woman gave her a quizzical look. So, she added, “I was put here after I spoke to someone, I was not supposed to.”

“Who were you not allowed to speak to?”

“Everyone.” Agent L.O.L said matter of factly, it was true. She had grown, not allowed to speak to anyone, not about who she was, not about who her father was, I mean for goodness sakes, she wasn’t even allowed to talk to her father. She thought that was going to change when she joined the T.V.A, but it didn’t, in fact her list of people not to talk to had only grown.

“Oh,” the blonde woman looked around the girl's prison cell, at all the books and paper scattered. “What did you do before…this?”

Agent L.O.L looked down at her hands, they were trembling ‘WHY WERE THEY TREMBLING!?’ she thought.

After sitting on her hand in order to still she finally spoke, “I was known as the daughter of the T.V.A, a performer that was there to keep the Agents happy, they use to say that I was trained by the Timelords themselves, and that is how my music, my performances made people feel things.” Sure, it wasn’t the complete truth, ‘but honestly’ she thought “it wasn’t really a lie.’

“How true is that?” the blonde woman asked, and suddenly to Agent L.O.L she looked familiar, strange, but familiar. If only Agent L.O.L knew that the woman was thinking the same thing.

“Oh, parts of it are, I entered the T.V.A fairly young, so calling me its daughter makes some sense, I was a performer, but I was not there to keep people happy, I was there to keep them under control. I was trained by Kang, but he trained me for battle,” Agent L.O.L sighed, debating whether or not she should share the next part. “My musical talent comes from my mother.” Her mother had many talents, music only being one. And she taught all of them to Agent L.O.L, at probably too young of an age. There was acting, makeup, how to dress well, and of course how to seduce men. (Not that she wanted to.) And while all of those abilities were of use to Agent L.O.L when she was taken by Kang, they also hurt her. They reminded her of her mother, and all she had lost. So, Agent L.O.L never really used these talents and never spoke of any, other than her music.

Agent L.O.L loved music; it was how she organized the memories when they all seemed to crash together. Music is how she was able to gain Kangs favor, and why so many other agents had loved her.

The blonde woman looked at the papers scattered around the desk, then at the books that lined the walls. Finally, after what felt like forever, she made eye contact with the younger girl, “What’s your name?”

“They call me Agent L.O.L”

“Okay” the blonde woman said, holding Agent L.O.L’s gaze, “My name is Sylvie, and I would really like your help Agent L.O.L.”

Miss Minutes had found him, thank whoever was in charge of time now.

“You’re not from here, are you?” The annoying animated clock asked him with a smug little smile.

“I am not.” Loki responded, “I am from a different T.V.A.” he decided that was the best way to word it. If he said he was from a different timeline, the demon clock might have a smartass reply like “oh we are all from different timelines here.”

“Do you need any help?” she asked almost as if she cared.

“I don’t think you can help me.” oh how he wishes she could. Oh, how he wishes someone could give him some answers, or even better tell him how to fix this.

“It’s not much but I could get you a template.” the clock said, her eyes three inches from his. “I don’t know where or when you would want to go, but that should be helpful right?”

Loki debated his options, yes, a template would be amazing, but would it be a good idea to trust someone from this strange T.V.A. But he also needed to get to Mobius and there is no way he could do that without the annoying clock's help. “Yes, that would be helpful.”

He followed the clock into a storage room. It was filled with weapons, and other random junk. “Where are the…” he started to ask, before a strange yet familiar voice cut him off.

“Right here.” It said, before the room went dark.
