in the rain
Erik sighed at the pattering sound of the pouring rain. Resigning himself to leaning against the wall of the school's entrance. It would be a while before the rain stopped and he'd stupidly forgotten an umbrella. He'd been getting ready to take a short nap when he heard the nearing sounds of footsteps.
"Hi", says a soft yet cheery voice, and unfortunately Erik recognises it from yesterday. The stuck-up rich boy who thought it'd be funny to stick his (probably) expensive and branded chewed gum on Erik's seat. Erik scoffed, turning his attention away from the bundle of cardigans and sweaters vests next to him. He heard a dejected sigh and fought the urge to roll his eyes -who would've thought the soft posh boy wasn't used to having everyone bend to his will? Erik focused his attention on the shimmering rainfall when he heard the sound of an umbrella opening. He internally sighed in relief, the other male was leaving. To further prove his point, a sleek black limousine pulled up in front of the school awaiting its passenger.
What Erik did not expect was for the boy to start talking to him again.
"I just wanted you to know", the floppy-haired brunette started, his body now positioned in front of Erik's. The brunette bit his lip, fidgeting with his umbrella before looking Erik dead in the eye. "I was only trying to take the chewing gum off your seat. I swear", he finished, his ocean-blue eyes sparkling earnestly. Erik blinked, taken aback to the point of straightening his position from leaning against the wall.
"I've never been to school before, I've never had friends", the blue-eyed male continues, his back now facing Erik, "It's all sort of..new to me", he glances back with his sparkling blue eyes and shrugs lightly. What Erik did not expect was for the ocean-eyed rich boy to turn around and offer his umbrella. Erik stood there, quite foolishly he admits, staring from the shorter male's extended arm, to the offered umbrella, to the other man's face. He didn't know how long they stood there, but he was broken out of his trance by the sound of thunder. He blinked furiously, reaching his hand out slowly, unsure before his lean fingers wrapped around the stem of the umbrella. He tried his best to ignore the churn in his stomach when their fingers brushed, instead gripping the handles umbrella harshly. So harshly that he accidentally clicked the umbrella shut, and to his mortification, enclosed it on his body.
He huffs out a hiss in surprise, momentarily forgetting about the blue-eyed boy in front of him when he heard a giggle. Oh- was that a full-blown laugh, he heard? He ripped the umbrella off himself, scowling at the other male but faltered at the sight of others laughing face. His entire body seemed to tremble with the force of his giggles, his hand coming up to cover his bright grin. Erik stared, eyes widened marginally. The other finally stopped, noticing the look on Erik's face, he bit his lip and glanced away, "Well uh, I'll see you tomorrow", he flashed a boyish smile and ran down the steps towards his fancy limousine.
What Erik definitely did not expect was to fall in love with the posh, floppy-haired, blue-eyed ray of sunshine from his class.
