In the Endgame (Alternate Ending)

Just before the armies collided, Spider-Man threw Mjolnir at Cull Obsidian, knocking the latter back. Calling back the weapon, he did a few acrobatic moves, hitting hit opponents, then slammed the hammer on the ground, getting more enemies.

Iron Lad, Iron Man, Iron Heart, and Rescue fired their repulsors at various enemies, and destroyed several ships. Tony and Pepper were in the air fighting back-to-back, while Harley and Riri did the same. Meanwhile, Nova and LSD were still using their powers at a distance, both firing powerful energy beams.

Thor slammed Stormbreaker on the ground, and the lightning killed a number of Outriders. He then jumped up and casted more lightning against the forces of Thanos. Val swooped in with her flying steed and sliced through dozens of Chitauri.

Captain America, Black Cat, White Tiger, Black Panther, and Patriot began fighting enemies at close quarters. They were still superior combatants compared to the fodder thrown at them.

Wasp enlarged herself to kick an opponent as M’Baku roared. Drax hopped on Cull’s back to try and stab him. Cull was distracted enough for Korg to take a swing at him, knocking him back. Bruce slammed a carriage down and threw it at more enemies.

Giant-Man and Stature punched a couple of Leviathans, both of which fell to the ground from their strikes.

Kate fought next to Okoye, as Shuri was blasting the opponents from mid-range, and Loki casted more flames with his sword. Close by were Kid Arachnid and Ms. Marvel, who fought a group of enemies with little to no problem, being the dynamic duo that they were.

Spider-Man and Thor fought side by side. Spidey threw Mjolnir at an enemy and followed through with a flurry kicks against other alien soldiers. Thor threw Stormbreaker as well, casted more lightning, and threw some opponents away. When they called their weapons back, Spider-Man got Stormbreaker while Thor caught Mjolnir. They looked to the weapons in their hand then shared a look before the god of thunder spoke up.

“No, no, Man of Spiders, give me that,” and Spidey obliged by tossing Stormbreaker to Thor. “You have the little one,” and Thor did the same with Mjolnir for Spider-Man. Then Spidey began charging at more opponents as Thor jumped high again to cast more lightning.

Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Moon Knight held back several Outsiders as Bucky, Rocket, and the Punisher discharged their firearms from a distance.

From above, Tony was using the improved high-powered lasers on more enemies, but as soon as he landed, Cull struck him, and he landed on a pile of debris. Thinking quickly, he turned his palm repulsors into energy cannons to hold back his opponent. Cull though didn’t seem phased by it, and was winding up for a kill-blow with his hammer.

Then a couple of explosive arrows hit Cull’s shoulders, staggering him.

“Tony!” Kate called out as she got more arrows from her quiver.

Then, more energy blasts struck Cull, who stumbled backwards. Iron Lad had arrived to help! “Oh no ya don’t, Tony! We just got ya back!” He spoke.

Suddenly, a pair of weblines and a grappling line attached on Cull’s back, causing the giant alien to be yanked backwards and onto the ground. Before Cull could even stand, Stature stomped on him, killing the alien.

“Tony! Kate!” Peter and Felicia yelled out in joy. They retracted their masks to show their faces and jumped to them. Tony and Kate were still taken aback by the now adult faces of the couple. Harley retracted his helmet as well as he landed.

“Oh dang… Eight and a half years did pass by huh?” Tony asked in his shock as he got a better look of his surrogate sons. Peter and Harley pulled him into tight hug having missed the man. And Tony didn’t even hesitate to hug them back. “You two… The two of you really grew up,” his voice said in amazement and regret. Tony could not believe he missed so many years of their lives.

“Yeah, and we really missed you, Tony,” Peter said emotionally.

“Oh yeah, definitely… Like dang…” Harley sniffed.

Tony tightened the hug. He could not imagine what they went through in dealing with his death. And what challenges they faced they faced through the years without him.

“Also… You’re worthy?” Tony asked Peter as he glanced at the hammer.

“We both are,” Peter gestured to himself and Harley. He then tossed the hammer to his brother, who caught it.

“Whatever the heck that means,” Harley shrugged. He tossed the hammer in the air and back to Peter.

Tony was just completely slack jawed by that. His two surrogate sons were worthy to lift Mjolnir… And they didn’t understand the implication of that. Then again… Maybe that’s why they could lift it? Actually, he still didn’t understand the mechanics of that…

“Oh wow… Licia…” Kate trailed as she saw her.

“Hey Kate,” Felicia said in relief as she embraced her sister by bond, who reciprocated the hug. Kate had not aged a day at all. After a couple of seconds, Peter came in and hugged both women as well.

“We missed you so much, Kate…” Peter sniffled. “Like… You have no idea,” he planted a deep kiss on the crown of her head.

“Yeah… Those old bouquets and the plaque…” Kate gave them a watery smile. She counted at least eight bouquets there, meaning they left one for every year without her. Turning to Felicia in particular, she asked, “So you two, uhm… Stayed together?”

“Through the years, yeah,” Peter and Felicia answered together. “I know this is a little awkward, but uhm…” the latter continued.

“I get it,” Kate said in understanding and chuckled out. “Eight and a half years went by, so I’m glad you two continued living out your lives,” she said sincerely. The couple nodded and smiled back in appreciation. “But you two owe me one heck of a long story,” Kate added.

“Uh yeah, me too,” Tony raised a finger. “I figure that a lot happened, since I just blinked, then bang, several years went by.”

“After this fight,” Spider-Man nodded as his mask appeared.

“Yeah, let’s kick some alien a** first,” Iron Lad called his helmet back.

“We’ll have plenty of time for that, don’t worry,” Black Cat agreed as her mask materialized.

Iron Lad and Iron Man flew up into the air to engage more enemies.

“I could have used a lift,” Kate snorted.

“Come on,” Spider-Man wrapped an arm around her side. “For old time’s sake?”

“Come on, Kate, it’ll be fun,” Black Cat teased.

“Oh what the heck? Let’s go!” Kate declared and Spider-Man jumped. He webzipped to a platform to allow her to survey the battlefield and provide cover fire from there. Black Cat followed and was with them. Kate gave the couple a radiant and appreciative smile.

And she could tell that they smiled back brightly at her. Afterwards, the Spider and the Cat jumped back down to the fight.

The Black Widow was running through the field, and narrowly avoided a Chitauri gorilla. Just then, the Falcon swooped in and stabbed the creature with his wings.

“Cap! Spider-Man! What the hell do you want me to do with this damn thing!?” Natasha shouted in comms.

“Get those stones as far away as possible!” Steve yelled back. He struck an Outsider with his now halved shield.

“No! We need to get them back from where they came from!” Bruce corrected as he punched another Outsider with his good arm.

“Bruce’s right! We can’t let Thanos have the gauntlet!” Spider-Man added, then he threw Mjolnir at more Chitauri.

“Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel though! There’s no way to get them back!” Iron Lad pointed out as he fired his energy cannons. Spider-Man then tossed him the hammer and he began casting lightning at several enemies. That caused Iron Man to stare at them for a couple of seconds, still amazed by the fact that they were both worthy.

“Whoa, easy there, son-in-law! That wasn’t our only time machine!” Scott shrunk down to regular size. He then pressed the button attached to the car keys and a horn played to the tune of La Cucaracha, which echoed throughout the battlefield. White Tiger had to stop for a bit to process the fact that she actually heard that song in the middle of everything that was going on.

“… That ugly van survived?!” Iron Lad asked incredulously as he tossed hammer back to Spider-Man. Iron Man just looked to him with even more shock on his face, because Scott just called his other surrogate son a ‘son-in-law’.

“Well, good thing it did! We need to get those stones out of here!” Spidey casted more lightning.

“Anyone see an ugly brown van on the field?” Steve ran up to higher ground and tried to survey the surroundings.

“Yes!” Val answered. “But no one’s gonna like where it’s parked!”

“Over after a ravine in the North-East portion!” Kate added before firing off more arrows. She also caught what Scott called Harley over at comms. ‘Son-in-law!? So that happened too?! So many things happened, geez,’ Kate mused to herself.

“Scott, how long do you need to get that thing working?” Iron Lad inquired.

“Probably 10 minutes!” Scott replied, then Hope enlarged next to him.

“Get it started, we’ll get those stones to you!” Spider-Man ordered, and he used his webbing to weaponize some rubble as a chain mace in combination with the hammer he was wielding.

“We’re on it, Spidey!” Hope assured. The duo then shrunk, and Hope flew them to the van.

Dr. Strange flew in and his magic opened several chasms on the Earth. Suddenly, several purple energy tendrils emerged, lifting numerous Outriders and dragged them into the ground. After that, the chasms were resealed.

Strange then turned to see Peter, Tony, and Harley land behind him.

“Hey, they told me that you said 1 in 14 million,” Peter started.

“One where we win. Tell us this is it, Doc,” Harley followed.

“Oh it better be it,” Tony finished as his eyes narrowed on the sorcerer.

“If I tell any of you what happens, it won’t happen,” Strange said cryptically and… Regretfully?

“You better be right then,” Peter told him.

“He better be,” Harley mumbled out.

Tony just rolled his eyes and audibly groaned.

Hope and Scott flew to the van. However, “It’s… It’s dead!” Scott yelled as he smacked the top of the dashboard in frustration.

“What!?” Hope asked.

“It’s dead!” Scott repeated, tearing open something and pulling out a bunch of wires. “I have to hotwire it!”

Natasha fired off more Widow’s Bites, but was then met with a large group of enemies.

Until Black Panther slammed the ground near them, discharging the kinetic energy stored in his suit, and taking down all those enemies. “Natasha!” T’Challa said as he stood up and retracted his mask. “Give it to me.”

Without a second thought, the Black Widow handed over the gauntlet.

Black Panther ran as fast as he could. He kicked away some foes, then flipped to recover. Kicking two more foes, he then leapt up and slammed the ground again, discharging more kinetic energy to kill off more enemies.

But then Thanos’ sword was thrown at him, knocking the hero back as he lost grip of the gauntlet.

Thanos charged to confront the Black Panther, but Wanda jumped in his way.

“You… Took… Everything from me,” Wanda sneered with venom in her voice.

“I don’t even know who you are,” Thanos said incredulously.

“You will,” Wanda promised almost sinisterly. She flew up and her powers caused large chunks of debris to float in the air. Wanda threw two columns of debris at the Mad Titan and engaged him in combat.

Black Panther ran to the gauntlet, but Ebony Maw tried to lift it. He jumped to grab the gauntlet, but was being lifted up as well.

“I got it!” Kid Arachnid called out. When Black Panther threw up the gauntlet, Arachnid web yanked it to himself and landed next to his teammates. A swarm of Outriders then turned their attention to them. “Uh, tortoise formation?!” He shouted.

“Yep!” Patriot agreed. “Come on team!” He then punched one of the aliens.

Ms. Marvel embiggened her fists and began striking the aliens. Iron Heart and LSD kept firing off beams of energy on their end. Kid Arachnid was using more venom blasts against the aliens.

Wanda blocked Thanos’ sword. Thanos grunted as he used his other hand to try and bring down the blade onto the heroine.

Suddenly, Wanda smirked. With some strain, she coursed her magic through the blade, pushing it away, and destroying it.

And she wasn’t done yet. She lifted Thanos up, and her magic ripped off his armor, then began moving to his skin. The Mad Titan screamed in pain.

“Rain fire!” He ordered.

“But sire! Our troops!” Corvus Glaive pointed out after stabbing another sorcerer.

“Just do it!” Thanos groaned, as he was in pain.

Then the Sanctuary II pointed the cannons to the ground and began firing. It killed several people on the heroes’ side, but there was a lot of friendly fire as well. It even killed several Leviathans!

Wanda raised a shield to defend herself, distracted from the task of killing Thanos. However, a nearby blast knocked her away.

Elsewhere in the battlefield, Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, used the Shield of Seraphim to protect himself and nearby allies. Several other sorcerers followed suit and raised shields as well.

Then Rescue noticed that a flood was approaching! The recent attacks have destroyed a dam for the lake, and water was rushing in! “Uhm is anyone else seeing this!?”

Dr. Strange knew what he had to do, and used his powers to conjure a tornado-vortex to prevent the waters from entering. Maybe it was part of what was needed to be done in order to win?

Slowly, but surely (and concernedly), the New Young Avengers were starting to get overwhelmed. And that was despite the cover fire being provided by Kate on her vantage point.

“We got this! We got this!” Kid Arachnid said as he was flipping and kicking all around while using his bio-electric powers. However, several more enemies showed up. “Okay, maybe we don’t got this! Somebody, help!”

“You gotta get that thing outta here, Arachnid!” Patriot ordered, then shield bashed an Outrider.

“Go! We’ll hold them off!” Ms. Marvel assured. She continued punching several aliens. Iron Heart and LSD continued their energy beam onslaught, but the horde of enemies seemed endless!

“Hey, Spidey!” Peter called out. “Heads up!” He said as he threw Mjolnir at their direction.

Kid Arachnid shot a web to Mjolnir and was dragged to the flight path of the hammer!

While the New Avengers rushed in and helped the new kids. Spider-Man’s Instant Kill feature caused the waldos to appear, which began stabbing the aliens. Iron Lad called forth more energy cannons and fired at the Outriders. Black Cat and White Tiger leapt in and slashed through scores of enemies, while Stature was still large and stepped on multiple foes. Nova came in and fired energy beams as well, decimating opponents.

“Thanks for the assist!” Patriot said in appreciation while giving a fake salute.

“Anytime, kiddos,” Spider-Man waved that off.

“We still have this bombardment to deal with!” Iron Lad pointed out as he called forth the energy field generators of his suit and protected their group.

“I have to get to Miles though!” Peter stated and began web-swinging. He saw that the webline of his protégé attached to Mjolnir was burned off by one of the energy blasts from the ship’s cannons. However, at least Rescue caught him, then swung him over to Valkyrie. Suddenly, the airstrike knocked the Pegasus off-course, and Kid Arachnid fell off. “I gotcha!” Peter swung in to save the teen.

“Thanks Pete!” He said appreciatively. When they landed, Peter’s waldos generated a shield above them, but the place was still chaotic.

And then… It stopped.

Afterwards, the ship’s cannons fired off into the sky?

“Karen what the heck’s going on?” Peter asked as he tried to make out the trajectory of the projectiles.

“Something just entered the upper atmosphere!” Karen replied.

A ball of light then flew across the sky, leaving a trail. The energy blasts of the cannons did nothing even when it made contact with the figure. Then the light smashed and went through the ship, then several explosions occurred. Thor came by there as well to help destroy the Sanctuary II. Peter could then make out that it was Captain Marvel who was the ball of light!

“Man that is so cool!” Miles said under his breath.

“Danvers, we’re gonna need an assist here!” Steve stated in relief over comms.

“Portal’s ready, everyone!” Scott updated.

Carol then landed next to the Spider-Men. “Peter, Miles,” she greeted them respectfully.

“Carol, we’re gonna need you to bring this thing,” Peter pointed to the gauntlet that Miles was holding, “to that portal over there,” he then pointed to the ugly brown van at the other side of the ravine.

“Here you go, Captain Marvel Miss Carol Danvers Ma’am,” Miles stuttered out as he extended his arms to give the gauntlet.

“Carol’s fine, Miles,” the blonde chuckled as she took the item.

Then they saw the army charging towards them. That’s what stood between Carol and the ugly van.

“That’s a lotta aliens,” Miles said nervously as he shook his head.

“It’s a bit to deal with, yeah,” Peter admitted, a bit exasperated.

“Don’t worry,” Wanda assured as she flew down.

“She’s got help, Spider,” Black Cat continued as she and White Tiger cracked their knuckles then flashed their claws

Natasha, Kate, and Okoye walked up as well. Stature and Wasp went to their regular size and marched while readying their wrist blasters. Valkyrie was on her Pegasus, as Shuri readied her Wakandan blasters. Ms. Marvel embiggened her fists, while LSD glowed with power. Iron Heart and Rescue prepped their weapons, as Jessica Jones, Mantis, Gamora, and Nebula joined them. They marched to the army, giving each other understanding looks.

“Now that’s one heck of a deadly group y’all,” Iron Lad said over comms.

As Thanos’ army charged, Wanda fired a blast that scattered their front line. Rescue, Iron Heart, LSD, Wasp, and Shuri fired at a Leviathan, while Stature grew and used the wrist blasters before punching down another Leviathan. Black Cat and White Tiger engaged Proxima Midnight.

“… Man your wife’s a bada**,” Miles said in amazement. Then Black Cat killed Proxima by slicing her throat as White Tiger held the alien down.

Gamora and Nebula sliced through several opponents, as Kate fired off several explosive and acid arrows. Natasha and Jessica Jones were fighting side by side, their opponents being no match for them. Okoye stabbed and killed Corvus Glaive rather easily, as Val sliced through a Leviathan made vulnerable by Wanda. Ms. Marvel, like Stature then embiggened her whole body and was punching another Leviathan.

“Same thing with your girlfriend,” Peter teased, as Miles nodded in awe. “Come on, we need to move to the portal to help guard it!”

Carol started flying and the energy emanating around her helped destroy more tanks and take down a number of opponents.

Thanos charged at her with his broken sword, but then Rescue, Iron Heart, LSD, Wasp, and Shuri fired at him, and sent the Mad Titan flying back.

However, Thanos got up just as Carol flew past him. Thinking fast, he threw his broken sword at the van. That resulted in a huge explosion that knocked everybody back. In fact, even Strange struggled to keep the flood in check.

Harley turned over the dead aliens on top of him and saw the gauntlet. Seeing that Thanos was making a run for the item, he quickly flew over and smashed into the Mad Titan, toppling him over for a bit. However, Thanos quickly elbowed the hero down, then punt-kicked him through several pieces of debris. Harley was out cold and couldn’t get up.

Then it was Tony’s turn, as he tackled the alien but, the result was the same. Thanos elbowed him back, and the man rolled around for several meters.

Thanos once again tried to get to the gauntlet, but Thor came in and tried swinging Stormbreaker at him, then he threw Mjolnir, but his opponent ducked. When Thanos was seemingly out of balance, Thor tried to grab the gauntlet, but Mad Titan pulled him back. Thor though freed himself and swung Stormbreaker at him again, but Thanos caught the weapon by its handle. The axe cackled with lightning as tried to slice the alien’s neck.

As they struggled, Thor called back Mjolnir and used it to push down Stormbreaker even more, something akin to a lever. However, Thanos was still resisting! So Spider-Man jumped on the back of the alien, shot a web at the axe and pulled as hard as he could. Then, Captain America joined in and pulled from Stormbreaker’s handle. The heroes did their best to end Thanos then and there as they all roared at the effort they were exerting.

And Thanos had about enough. He did a hammer punch on the axe, bringing it down along with Spider-Man, and then he headbutted Thor, sending the Asgardian back several meters. Afterwards, he grabbed Captain America’s head, threw him down, and then punched hard, knocking the Soldier out cold.

Spider-Man got up, and wasn’t going to let Thanos win a second time. He shot another web at the Mad Titan’s face then called Mjolnir. He swung the hammer at Thanos and got a couple of good hits, but then Thanos parried an incoming third strike, then punched the hero hard, sending him to the ground. Thanos then threw Spidey up and push kicked him, sending the Wall-Crawler through more debris and was unconscious.

Just as Thanos grabbed the gauntlet, Carol came flying in and fought the alien! She fired off some blasts, but then Thanos grabbed her, spun her around and threw her off.

Nova then came in and fired off several blasts at the enemy. When he got close, he punched the Mad Titan several times, but then Thanos grabbed him by the neck, slammed him hard on the ground, and threw him off.

When Thanos put the gauntlet on, Carol came in just in time to prevent another snap. Thanos then headbutted the space heroine, but she didn’t even flinch as she absorbed more energy. Carol then flew a bit, sending Thanos to one knee. Then the Mad Titan saw it: the Power Stone. He removed the Infinity Stone, clenched it around his fist, and punched Carol, sending her flying across the battlefield.

Tony just got up to see all of that. Upon turning to Strange, the sorcerer looked at him in the eye as he raised a single finger with an almost pleading and apologetic look on his face. Glancing at his sons, he knew what he had to do.

When Thanos re-inserted the Power Stone, Tony grabbed the gauntlet. Thanos punched him a few times, but he wouldn’t let up. Then one final strike sent Tony back and rolling on the ground.

Peter and Harley just came to and saw what was about to happen. Their hearts fell as they felt they’ve failed again. More so now, because all of life would be gone… Including their wives and children…

As Thanos adjusted the gauntlet, he looked to Tony menacingly. “I am… Inevitable,” he said victoriously and then…

The metal of the gauntlet clunked as he snapped but… Nothing happened!

Surprised, Thanos turned the gauntlet around to see that the Infinity Stones were gone!

Turning back to Tony everybody saw that he had ALL the stones on right glove of his suit. Suddenly, every bit of his suit went to form a thick gauntlet around his right hand and arm. Still, Tony grunted a bit because of the pain.

Peter and Harley saw what Tony was planning to do, and they both screamed out, “NOOOOOOOOOO!”

“And I… Am… Iron Man!” He declared defiantly, and then,

SNAP!

More of that white light shone through the battlefield.

Rocket was firing his blasters at a Leviathan, but the creature was about to devour him. Suddenly, it turned to dust, and Rocket looked around in relief and amazement.

With that, Thanos’ army began turning to dust. The soldiers, their weapons, the tanks, the Leviathans. Even the crashed Sanctuary II disappeared all of a sudden. T’Challa was watching in awe of the sight.

Maw fell to his knees and sent an apologetic look to Thanos just before turning to dust himself.

Thanos saw everything that was happening. His gaze met that of Steve Rogers. The man seemed to know what he was going through… And gave a look that was strangely sympathetic.

After that, Thanos turned around, his back against the sun, and sat on a rock. Sighing out and closing his eyes, he accepted the defeat with dignity just as he turned to dust too.

The heroes were relieved. And elated! It felt surreal and almost everyone put out massive grins. They had just won! They beat Thanos and his army! And-

… And then they remembered who snapped…
