they were having fun
Frigga is furious as she marches up to her husband “how could you have done this?” she asks harshly
“do you understand what he has done? he has taken innocent lives”
“but imprisonment? you would lock him up forever?” she asks before suddenly yelling “he’s your son!”
“what would you have done?”
“I would not lock him away for the rest of his life” her voice is thick with emotion “left to stare at others passing by while he suffers alone” she shakes her head “I would not have had the heart”
“that is why I am king, I too grieve the loss of our son!” Frigga lets out a deep breath and Odins voice falls as he says “but there are some things even I cannot undo”
Frigga reminds him “you can free him” with a shaky voice, her emotions cut off by her husband saying “no!” so loud that it echoes throughout the room.
Odin concludes that “his fate has been decided” before walking away, allowing Frigga to finally let her tears fall.
Loki flicks his finger and the illusion fades, leaving him staring at the golden barrier keeping him in the room. He sighs, she fought for him for once but why does he still feel so disappointed.
Maybe because it didn’t work, Odin wouldn’t even listen to his mother. That proves he will be in this cell for the rest of his life, another four thousand years.
He never thought he would miss all the hatred and loneliness, but look at him now, willing to do anything to go back to that and get out of the ugly white cell. Actually what he misses is his brother and mother, he misses them so much that it hurts. He could take four thousand years in the cell if those two were allowed to visit him.
But they can’t.
How will he survive without them?
Thor has spent three whole weeks searching for the right grimoires, Sif even offered to help. He knows it’s not for Loki, she’s doing it for him. She ceaselessly asked him to stop trying for the past two years, Thor guesses she’s doing this out of guilt.
“Thor, they’re not here”
“we haven’t finished looking”
She puts the grimoire down and asks “Loki is back so why don’t you want to go through his things?”
“he should do that himself” Thor deadpans as he tries to go back to reading through the spell. ‘Memory Transference Spell: A spell that allows a seidr user to share selected memories of themself onto others. Some spells allows one to experience-’
“your father forbid this spell, it is not in any of these grimoires” she states “you know it’s in Loki’s”. After Asgard was destroyed Loki and the healers started rewriting all the grimoires, he remembers Loki carrying that stupid book everywhere he went on the ship.
“I can’t Sif”
“well until we find that spell the most we could do is take the pain away and hope the elixir will work”
“I can-I can bring Loki their things as well”
Thor tried to go and see Loki to deliver the elixir but Tony’s annoying lap dog voice interrupts “she’s sick so you can’t-”
Thor’s eyes widen, he asks “what do you mean?” loudly, already marching down the hall to his siblings room. Ignoring Tony trying to stop him.
“she’s not that kind of sick- shit Thor” he gets in the latters way “you can’t see her” Thor shoves him out of the way and continues to her room.
He shove the door open and she sits up with a jolt, “are you okay?” he asks, calming down now that he sees that she seems fine.
Apart from her red, glossy eyes darting back and forth between them.
“Kol”
“You said-“
Tony interrupts her “I know I tried to stop him” Ikol doesn’t say anything, she just lays back down, making sure to cover her face with the blankets.
Thor frowns, his stomach churning at that “sister”
“go away Thor” her voice is muffled under the blankets but he heard it crack.
He takes a deep breath, opening his mouth to apologize for whatever he’s done but Tony interrupts. He taps on Thor’s arm and says “let her sleep, she’s sick”
“why is she sick?” Thor asks as he sits down but Clint answers for Tony, “they went out last night, and the night before that, and the night before that”
Tony says “we get it Clint” sharply, because he barely remembers last night and he hates thinking about what he could’ve said or done to embarrass himself.
Thor starts glaring at Tony “you’re supposed to be helping her and you’re letting them go off to party?” he asks bitterly
“they were having fun”
“that’s not fun to anyone but you” Thor nearly growls.
Tony mumbles “and ikol apparently”
“they’re acting like a different person”
“they are a differen’t person” Tony retorts “hence the name, Ikol”
Thor scoffs, shaking his head as he asks “do you want them to be like you?”
“if you haven’t noticed Ikol already is like me” and that’s true, none of them wants to admit it to themselves because then they would have no reason to hate ikol
“you know why we can go party and act like nothing is wrong?” he questions but quickly answers for them “because we have fun, we revel in it instead of worrying about how it’ll fuck up our lives or the bullshit that’s already happening”
No one says anything because they can’t argue with that, if they want to have fun they can. It’s not like it’s hurting anybody, Tony thought until Bruce theorizes, “this could be killing her faster Tony”
“what?”
Bruce shrugs, “she was hungover for a week, I’ve never seen anyone that sick unless they were drinking for months”
“it was from the E” Tony states but Bruce quickly retorts that “you still don’t get that sick from it”
Tony drops his hands down on the table “well we’re sober now so I don’t know what else you want”
“go away Ton-“ Ikol freezes seeing the woman, smiling at her like they’ve known each other all their lives. “you’re not Tony”
“i’m Hela” and Ikol’s heart stops for a second, she knows Hela’s voice. Hela is the one that’s been in her head this whole time, “I was the goddess of death, and you are dying”
“I know”
Hela smiles, striding over to the bed “I know how to help you”
