Team Mom

“Go Ali!” you hear your young son yell from outside the fence where he rests comfortably in Nat’s lap. You smile at them from your spot in line at the end of game handshake. Ali hears him too and she waves as she runs across the field.

“And go Coach Mom, right buddy?” Wanda, who is sitting next to them, says. At the sound of your name, Ivan makes grabby hands towards you.

“I’ve got to go get the team snacks from the car. Can you watch him?” Nat asks Wanda, but Sam is walking by at the time, and he scoops Ivan out of Nat’s arms.

“What’s up, little dude?” he asks, throwing him up in the air. Ivan giggles wildly.

When Nat returns with the cooler of snacks and drinks, everyone has gathered around for the post game talk. She smiles at you as you recap the highlights of the game with the young girls. Your assistant coach always picks out the recipient of the game ball and today Ali gets it. She jumps up and down as she hands her the ball.

“Alright team, great game today! I’m very proud of y’all. Mrs. Nat has some snacks and drinks for everyone, so be sure to see her before you leave. Let’s bring it in,” you wrap up the meeting.

You and Ali make your way to your fan club. Nat is preoccupied with handing out snacks, but the others are waiting to talk to you. Wanda, Sam, Steve, Peter, and even Bucky made it to the game today.

“Aunt Wanda, look!” Ali holds up the game ball proudly, grinning impossibly wide.

“Oh! That’s amazing! You played so well today, malyshka,” Wanda says, and Ali hugs her legs before moving to hug everyone else too.

“That was some good coaching out there, y/n. I’m impressed,” Bucky says.

“Thanks. It’s so fun at this age. The kids just have an absolute blast,” you reply.

You talk to them for a while longer before Natasha joins the group.

“Great job out there, detka,” she kisses your cheek before crouching down to Ali’s level where she stands next to Steve.

“Mama look! I got the game ball!” Ali says and Natasha beams at her.

“Klassno! I’m so proud of you, Ali,” Nat plants kisses all over her face and she giggles.

“Can we talk about how Natasha brought the kids snacks and drinks?” Sam teases. “She’s totally the team mom.”

“I am not,” Nat replies. She looks to you for backup but you just shrug.

“You kind of are, Natasha,” you agree. “But it’s a good thing though, right Sam?” you ask pointedly, and he smirks.

“Give me my kid, Wilson,” Nat says reaching for Ivan. “And none of you call me that, got it?” Everyone laughs and you all head to a local diner for a celebration.

Later that night after you’ve tucked both kids into bed, you and Nat settle on the couch to watch some tv. You snuggle close to her, head resting on her shoulder.

“You know y/n, I think it’s really great how you coach the kids,” Natasha says.

“Thanks, love. I think it’s really great that you are the team mom,” you reply with a laugh, and she can’t help but smile. “I knew you didn’t hate the title.”

“Only when you say it, detka,” Natasha replies.
