Clingy Ali
It’s late in the night when you wake up to the sound of your wife’s voice. You turn over and open your eyes to see your young daughter laying on Nat’s chest.
“You’re okay, detka,” Natasha says as she rubs her back.
“Mama,” Ali whines against her, her voice coming out hoarse.
“Shhh, I’ve got you,” Natasha tries to soothe her.
You sit up and Nat turns to look at you.
“What’s wrong?” You ask them, your hand running through Ali’s long hair.
“Her tummy and throat hurt,” Natasha answers with exactly how Ali told her she was feeling.
“Oh, I’m sorry, sweet girl,” you kiss her temple. “Should I get her some medicine?”
“Yeah, maybe,” Nat says.
“Okay, I’ll be right back, baby,” you tell Ali.
Natasha continues to soothe her, whispering sweet words into her ear.
You come back with medicine and Nat sits up. Ali clings to her, wrapping her arms around her.
“Open up, baby. Mommy has something to make you feel better,” Natasha coaxes her to take the medicine.
“Good job, my love,” you kiss her forehead as she swallows the liquid.
“Yeah, great job, malyshka. Let’s try to sleep, okay?” Natasha says. You three settle back down into the bed.
“We love you, Ali,” you say. “We’ve got you.”
She burrows further into Natasha at your words. It’s a long few hours, but the medicine kicks in and Ali eventually falls asleep.
“Is she out?” You whisper into the dark room.
“Yeah,” Nat says with a sigh.
“I’m sorry I didn’t wake up sooner, but I’m glad she came to us.”
“It’s okay, y/n. You know how clingy she is to me when she’s sick. She woke me up in tears though and it broke my heart,” Natasha says, her voice thick with emotion.
“Oh Nat, I’m sorry. I love you,” you say, leaning forward and kissing her cheek.
“I love you too. Sleep well, detka,” Natasha says.
“Sweet dreams.”
Ali wakes up the next morning feeling much better but she still clings to Nat all day. Natasha soaks up every single second of the cuddling, knowing her little girl won’t stay this clingy forever.
