Syrup Village part 14
*At the restaurant, Morbius drinks a blood pack.*
Morbius: Want some?
Nami: I’m good thank you…
Zoro: Now that we’ve eaten, we should get going.
Luffy: Yeah.
*Kaya enters.*
Kaya: There you are.
Nami: Are you sure you should be out of bed?
Morbius: You should probably get some rest.
Kaya: I’m fine. I’ve been sick for a year because of the shock when my parents passed away. Usopp’s friendship encouraged me to get better. I can’t stay in bed forever. For everything you did to help, I’ve prepared a present for you all. I’d be honored if you accept it.
*Usopp finishes packing for his long trip at sea.*
Usopp: I guess it's farewell to this house.
*Usopp tries to exit his house, but his bag is too big to fit through the door.*
Usopp: Stupid backpack!
*Usopp tries to squeeze it through, but he ends up breaking the front door and starts rolling down a hill.*
*A ship with a ram head bow is presented to Luffy and the others.*
Luffy: Woooooooaaahhh!
Morbius: A ship!
Nami: A caravel!
Luffy: Are you really giving this to us?!
Kaya: Yup. As a token of my appreciation.
Merry: It’s an older model, but I designed her myself. The controls are in the back. It’s name is the Going Merry. Now let me explain to you how it works. You see-
Nami: Woah, you best explain how it works to me.
Morbius: Not exactly the kind of ship I thought we’d get. But as long as I can put in a TV, it’s fine with me.
Luffy: It's so cool.
Kaya: We’ve loaded it with everything you’ll need for a long voyage.
Luffy: Thanks. It leaves nothing to be tired.
Zoro: It’s leave nothing to be desired, idiot.
*Usopp continues rolling down.*
Morbius: Usopp?
Luffy: Whatever he’s doing looks fun.
Zoro: I think we should stop him. If we don’t, he’ll hit the ship.
*Luffy, Zoro, and Morbius stop Usopp from crashing into the ship.*
Usopp: Thank you…
Kaya: So you’re really going out to sea.
Usopp: I decided I’m going before I change my mind. Don’t try to stop me.
Kaya: I won’t. I figured you would. Though it makes me sad.
Usopp: Don’t be sad. Next time I come back here, I’ll tell you stories that sound more like lies than my old lies.
Kaya: I’ll look forward to it.
*Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Morbius stand on their new ship.*
Usopp: You guys take care! I hope we meet again!
Luffy: How come?
Usopp: Are you antisocial or something? I’m taking off for life on the high seas and I hope we meet again.
Zoro: What are you talking about? Get on.
Morbius: We can use more people up here.
Usopp: Really?
Luffy: We’re friends right? So get on.
Usopp: No way… I’m a pirate captain now’
Luffy: Don’t be stupid Usopp, I’m the captain!
*Luffy and his friends depart as the former members of the Usopp pirate watch the Going Merry leave.*
Piiman: There he goes.
Ninjin: He’s made friends with cool people. I’m not too worried.
Tamanegi: Me too. I’ve never seen anyone as strong as they are.
Piiman: Usopp always talked about becoming a pirate. Now he’s going to live his dreams.
Ninjin: The villagers are going to be sad when we break the news.
Tamanegi: Our captain was the only one who could liven things up around here. Now he’s gone.
Ninjin: Hey, I just had a great idea!
Merry: They certainly we’re a pleasant bunch.
Kaya: Lying hurts a lot, Merry.
Merry: Are you referring to Klahadore?
Kaya: No.
Merry: It must be Usopp then. You really wanted him to stay, didn’t you? You know, one of the villagers told me a story about Usopp’s childhood. Only a short time after his father left the village to become a pirate, his mother, who he was close to, passed away.
*Flashback to when Usopp was just a kid.*
Usopp: Pirates! Pirates are here!
*Usopp to his house.*
Usopp: Pirates are here!
Doctor: Not so loud Usopp.
*Usopp runs to his mother, Banchina, who is sick in bed.*
Usopp: We’re saved, Mom! Dad came back for us!
Banchina: There you go with your wild imagination.
Usopp: But it’s true! He always said he’d come back and take us with him when you got better!
Banchina: Usopp, your father won’t be coming back. But I’m proud I married a brave man who chases his dreams.
Usopp: I heard about a special medicine that will cure any sickness.
Banchina: Silly child. It’s just a dream.
Usopp: I know I’m silly. And that I am a dreamer. But I’m proud to be the son of a pirate!
Banchina: Promise me one thing. That you’ll grow up to be brave like your father…
*End flashback.*
Merry: Perhaps out of loneliness, he continued to shout about pirates even after his mother passed away. Hoping one day that would be his father’s ship at the shore. Waiting to give him a family he never had. The villagers say that his lies contain his most outlandish wish. As someone else who lost his parents, he saw you and couldn’t sit by and ignore your suffering. And now it’s time for you to rise from the ashes of tragedy. And live up to the example Usopp worked hard to set.
Kaya: You’re right. My life starts now. I’m going to become a doctor.
Tamanegi: Let’s do it.
Piiman: We’re really doing this?
Ninjin: We have to follow in our captain’s footsteps.
*The 3 kids run through the village and scream about pirates. Just as their former captain used to do.*
*Luffy and the others celebrate gaining a new crew member and a ship.*
Luffy: Cheers!
