Tony Stark's Daughter

Once we had made our way back to the base we took care of the information we had found and finished our day before heading out to get ready. We went our separate ways with a promise to meet at the club in an hour. Though Bell and Kara came with me to get ready together as we had many times before.

We got to the house and made our way to my room so that we could all get ready for a long-needed night of fun, out on the town like we use to do.

Going through dresses and holding different ones out to one another for us to decide on what to wear. We were all laughing and it was nice to have some fun with friends for once.

"So what are you doing now?" Kara asked me.

"What do you mean?"

"The Avengers, what is going to happen with that?"

"I don't really know at the moment. I'm sure that Fury will call them all back in for something. Who knows at this point in time what he will do but I'm sure if this Hydra thing blows up we are going to need them for sure. I know I trust them though, they are good and Phil's death did bring them together as a team which would make him happy. You should have seen him, he was so excited to meet Steve. He wanted him to sign his Captain America cards. Fury used them after to motivate Steve and dad. Phil was so happy when we found Steve and could not wait to meet him and then he didn't even get to spend time with him away from another huge fight. All of this is just so unfair, I wish it could have been different."

"I know this is hard but I know Phil would be happy that you are safe. He adored you Bek's and would have done anything to make sure you were always safe. The thing that you can do now is to make sure you live every day to the fullest. It's all going to work out somehow someway. But we are here for you Bek's no matter what may happen. We have your back always, no matter what."

"Thank you Bells, I'm glad I have you all. Wait there is something I could still do for Phil. Fury used his cards and got blood on them but I have those cards here. Grandpa had all kinds of Captain America things around the house. I could still have Steve sign them as Phil wanted. Kind of like a goodbye for him."

"We are meant to be meeting the boys in a little. Do you think we have time to look for them?"

"Well, I know where they most likely will be. It won't take too long and we are all dressed so just give me a few moments I should be able to find them." I told them as I walked out of my room and into another room. I started to look through the boxes and search through the Captain America things that had all been left in the room after Howard had passed.

"So what are we looking for?" Bell's asked me.

"A Captain America box, it is small and it had the cards in it. I saw them years ago. I gave one to Phil then because it was the last one he needed. I know there is another set in it, I just need to find it." I searched through boxes and we were looking for about ten minutes when Bell's spoke up.

"Is this it?" I looked over to her where she was holding up the box.

"Yes, that is." I walked over to her and she handed me the box. I smiled as I pulled the box open and saw the cards where they had last been left. Pulling out the stack of cards I grabbed a full set before placing the others back in the box and setting the box down with a smile.

"This is something I can do that I can control the outcome of it. I know Phil is not here but he wanted it so much and was really looking forward to it, so I plan on making it come true. I really want and need to do this, as some closer."

"Well, then you do it."

"Thanks for understanding. I will put these in my bag then that way I can have Steve sign them tomorrow when I see him."
"You are seeing him tomorrow?"
"Yes and I know what you are thinking but we are friends that is it. I have just been helping him adjust to the world he now finds himself in."

"Well if that is what you say."

"We should probably head out then so we can meet the guys," I tell them as we all leave the room and I shut the light off before pulling the door closed behind me.

Walking out we grabbed our things and I slipped the cards into my bag for tomorrow and we headed out. Locking the front door we made our way to my car and got in and made our way to the club.

The drive was full of us singing and laughing along to the music and it was nice to be with the girls and have some fun after all that had happened the last few days.

Once we were there we all got out and headed into the club.

Walking in we saw that the guys were already there and waiting for us.

"Well look at that my angels are here," Trip told the others. Us girls smiled and struck a pose for them before walking over the rest of the way.

"Do you all do this to annoy me?" David asked.

"We absolutely do it to annoy you," Kara said as we got to them.

"Don't worry though we still love you as well," Bell told him with a smile and kissed his cheek.

"Well let's have some fun," Trip said, with a laugh we all made our way to the table before taking our seats.

We all got our drinks and started to talk and laugh. The conversations were all over the place. Looking around I saw there were quite a few people at the club tonight a lot of dancing and laughing throughout the whole club.

"So what is going on with you and Captain America?" David said and I gave him a look.

"I would like to know too, girl," Trip added.

"Nothing is going on between us, Steve and I are just friends, coworkers."

"So just friends spend all their time together?" David joked.

"I don't spend all my time with him."

"You haven't been with us."

"I have been busy, trying to work and spend time with everyone in my life. I just have had a lot to keep up with. Yes I have been spending time with Steve, I know it might look like there is more there but there's not and that is alright."

"You like him," Bell responded.

"I don't know, maybe I do. It's hard for me to meet people that don't just want to know me because of my dad or my job. Steve sees me and it's the first time in a long time and it is so very nice. He does not make me feel like Tony Stark's daughter but like Rebekah instead. I also know nothing would ever work out between us because he still loves Peggy and that is fine because I love her as well. I know how easy it is to love her and I would never want to push him or anyone into something they don't want because I have had that happen to me and I can't do that to someone else."

"You know if you guys ever did start something I know Peggy would be happy for you both and she loves you both. Don't be afraid to follow your heart because you deserve to be happy in whatever way that may look like." Bell said to me.

"I just don't know anything anymore, So much has changed the last little while and I really don't know if things are going to be the same when all of this ends. I do hope it is better than it was before though."

"I think when it comes down to it all things will work out the way they are meant to and we can make sure that at the end of the day we all have one another's back," David told all of us.

"We are a family girl and none of us are going anywhere no matter how all of this might play out" Trip responded.

"How lucky we all are that they all became friends which led to a family. To think so many thought that they were crazy for following Steve's lead to fighting Hydra. Now I am so glad they were so willing because it has made all of us friends."

"Well they had to know what they were doing and they did a good job with what they did. Now we finish what they started."

"But for now no more work talk let's dance," Kara said as 'Sing Sing Sing' started to play.

We got up and the guys led us to the dance floor as we all started to dance and it really was like stepping back in time.

Over the years Peggy and the wives of the guys had made sure all of us knew how to dance as well as all of the other things they had taught us over the years. Something about wanting all of us to be well-rounded and have many things that we were good at other the just becoming agents.

As we danced around the floor I smiled looking around and seeing how happy we all were and how carefree we all looked.

Before I knew it I was laughing with the others as we were swinging on the dance floor having the time of our lives.

Once the song was over we dance for a few more before we all made our way back to the table to get a drink and to breathe for a moment.

"You would think that would be easy with all of the training and fighting we all do," David said after downing the rest of his drink.

"Well, you do use different mussels than you are used to in that kind of dancing. Swinging someone around is a lot different than punching some bad guys." Kara told him with a smile.

"I am not in shape to dance like that the way that I use to be," Sam responded.

"It is kind of on us after all they spent so much time teaching all of us how to dance and now we are all so busy we hardly ever dance and have fun like we use to," I said.

"So how about this, from now on we try to get together at least once a month so that we can have fun and relax. That way we don't all get burned out and we can keep doing our job." Bells said to all of us.

"I like that, almost like old times," Kara replied to her.

"Well I'm always down to hang with my angels and of course you guys as well," Trip said with a huge smile on his face.

"It will never end will it?" David asked us.

"Never," all of us girls said at once with huge smiles on our faces.

"Plus we like being Trip's angels, it's fun," I told him.

"All the ladies always love Trip."

"Don't be jealous, you can be the third favorite," Sam told him with a laugh.

"Now I am behind you as well?"

"Of course, you are, only because it drives you crazy and we can get under your skin with it. Is it working yet?"

"You guys suck."

"Well all of the ladies love us, so we have that going for us." We girls laughed as we listened to the back and forth between the guys with smiles and all.

"Don't worry David we still love you" Kara told him putting him out of his misery.

"Though I think all of you have been pushed back for Bek's, I think Captain America is her number one now." Bell's said looking at me with a huge smile.

"We are back to this, Really?"

"Just want to know will we meet him or are you keeping him to yourself for a reason?" Kara asked with a laugh.

"It will be a while because you all would scare him away, you are all just a lot to take in for someone who is not used to how you all are. So can we now drop the Steve talk because I told you guys there is nothing else going on between the two of us other than the work and me helping him around the 21st century. It is a lot to take in for someone who knows nothing about it so I am just being nice and trying to help him. Does that make me so bad?"

"Not at all, it's one of the many reasons we all love you and so many people love you. You always try to help people in any way that you can and do what is best for everyone not what works for one but not another. You have a huge heart that you are not afraid to give people but you have been hurt and you guard yourself in a way because of it. Rebekah, you truly are one of those friends and people that we know we can always come to. You are someone who is there at 3 in the morning to help someone out. You truly are an amazing person so don't always be so hard on yourself because we all love you and want you to be happy. Like you make all of us." Bells told me.

"You truly are the most amazing friends that a girl could ask for, I love you all so very much."

"We love you," Kara said and the rest all agreed.
"Now that we have had the emotional part of the night let's get back to the fun," David said and we all started to laugh yet again and then had some fun.

A few hours later it was a little after 1 am and we were all heading out after helping lock up and clean up. The guys were walking us to our car.

"We will follow you girls home to ensure you are all safe," Sam told us.

"You really don't need to do that we will be fine," I told the guys.

"It's what a gentleman would do, make sure the ladies are home safe and sound."

"Fine, we will drop off Kara first then Bell's since she and Sam are in the same place."

"Sounds like a plan," David told me.

We all said our goodbyes to one another and headed off.

I dropped off the other girls before heading home and parking. David drove up by me after I climbed out.

"Thank you for tonight guys, it was very much needed."

"Anything for you."

"You know we got you, girl."

"I know and thank you. I will see you later, let me know when you get home."

"Will do, Good night Rebekah."

"Good night to you David and you as well Trip."

"Good night my angel," Trip said as David rolled his eyes and I smiled.

I waved goodbye and headed inside.

As I walked in I saw a light in the living room, I shut the door and headed for the living room. I found dad in there looking out the window.

"You're home pretty late."

"I know I was out with some friends. I messaged you that I would be late and you said alright. Is everything alright still?"

"Yes, just wanted to make sure you made it home." He said as he turned to look at me.

"Looks like you had a good night."

"I did, I went to the club."

"With Rogers?"

"No, believe it or not, I do hang out with other people."

"Then who?"

"Friends from work."
"I didn't know you were friends with anyone at Stark."

"Not there, with SHIELD. You know where I have friends."

"So the other grandkids?"

"Yes, they are my people just like the Avengers are your people."

"They're my people?"

"Well as close to friends as you get anyway."

"Thanks"

"Of course."

"I was worried you were not coming home."

"I guess we are all on edge after everything."

"How are you really sweetheart?"

"I don't know one moment I'm fine then the next I remember all that has happened again and it hurts. I guess I am sick of losing people I care about and all of them leaving."

"You are having a hard time with Coulson?"

"Phil was family to me and now it's one less person I have in my corner. One less to trust, he was always there for me and when mom died he was a rock for me. I don't know how to let him go, I'm not good at it I guess."

"He cared about you that much I could tell."

"He did, when I was younger he and another one of the agents that he always worked with, they would take me to get Ice cream or to the park. All kinds of things when mom was not able to. I remember one time there was this daddy-daughter dance that you were not able to come to and I sat there feeling all sad for myself and then in walks Phil and we danced and laughed and he reminded me that you were not there to keep me safe but he was always happy to step in for me. He took care of me when he didn't have to and I loved him for it. The world is a duller place without him in it."

"I didn't know that, I'm sorry I was not there. I am glad that he was there when I was not able to be thought."

"Dad, it's alright. Had I walked in with Tony Stark the whole world would have found out and I would have been in more danger than I already was growing up. You were there for plenty of things. Sure you missed some but you have been there for a lot more. I love you and you're my dad nothing is ever going to change that. When I watched you go through that hole I thought I was going to lose you as well that day and I could not live with that. I have lost so many people that I love and I was not ready to lose you as well. You just need to promise me that you will be a little more careful because I can't do so much crazy all the time. I can't lose you, dad, I'm not ready for that and It might be selfish but I don't care. I think I have earned being a little selfish after everything that has happened."

"You have absolutely earned it baby girl." Dad pulled me into a hug and held me tight. We stood there for some time before we pulled apart.

"So does this make me your favorite person?"

"I don't know if I can go that far. After all, there is plenty you do that drives me crazy and you are a lot of work. You are a full-time job on top of all of my other jobs which is crazy to think about and you keep me so busy. I thought it was supposed to be the parent looking after the kid to make sure they didn't do anything stupid and make sure there were safe. With us, it is the other way around and you always keep me so busy."

"Got to keep you on your toes so you never know what will happen next."

"At this point, I'm sure a baby would be easier than you. I guess we will see." I watched dad with a straight face for a moment as he stopped breathing.

"What" he choked out.

I could not help it and started to laugh.

"You should have seen your face."

"That was not very funny."

"You know it was."

"I am not ready for that, I am still trying to figure out all of the parent stuff."

"Don't I know it."

"Plus, I am so not old enough to be a grandfather yet."

"Dad, hate to break it to you but you are kind of getting up there and you are totally old enough to be one. I'm old enough to have a kid. Plus who knows maybe you have a secret kid out there that has already made you one."

"First no secret kids the one I have in front of me is more than enough for now. Second, you are way too young to be having kids let alone dating."

"You do know you were my age when I was born right?"

"Like I said way too young."

"I will let you live on your cloud of denial for now."

"Good, it is nice and fluffy."

"I'm heading to bed it was a long day, a long night, a Long week, a month, and a year. Plus it will be another one today. So I need some sleep, you try to get some as well dad."

"We will see. Good night baby girl I love you."

"Good night daddy, Love you too." With a quick hug and then a kiss on my head I went to my room and got ready for bed.

By the time I finally laid down I was exhausted and need to sleep but was making a list of all I still had to do and figure out. After a while of that, I finally felt myself drift off to get some much-needed sleep.
