Daisy sat sideways on her throne as usual with her tablet in her lap, charting a few courses to some rumored ruins said to have some of the greatest weapons ever wielded in the cosmos. Nothing could ever beat her dragon fangs of course—but that didn’t mean she didn’t like to collect weapons.
Daisy was currently en route to Midgard to warn the earthlings about Thanos. Of course she would have just contacted Thor but Daisy was also craving a dish that was apparently only native to this planet.
Hotdogs.
Mmmm.
Maybe kidnapping an Earthling to do all her cooking would suffice but she doubted Thor would be very happy if she did that. But then again, he wouldn’t have to—
Grunt.
“Fucking hell, can’t even fantasize in peace,” Daisy rolled her eyes and looked up at her Captain, “What?”
He pointed to the window and Daisy set aside her tablet with a small sigh. So caught up in her musings and future raids. She failed to realize that they were already in the Milky Way and at Earth.
“Are the Avengers home, Captain?”
Another grunt and Daisy raised an eyebrow when a Midgard news station took over one of her screens and she saw the Avengers fighting off robots in the middle of some city…over…over a coffin of sorts. And her dear brother was nowhere in sight.
Of course nothing was ever peaceful with these humans. So much for hotdogs.
“Captain. Take over the helm will you. Seems like the Avengers could use an Asgardian.”
He hissed and Daisy summoned her royal blue cloak.
“Natasha!” Clint yelled over the comms when he lost track of the Ultron bots, “They’re headed back your way! I suggest you hurry up!”
He didn’t get anything back over the comms but he wasn’t worried, he knew that his partner could handle herself.
“Damn it! I lost the main Ultron, he’s coming your way guys.”
No one had the state of mind to tell Steve to watch his language, Natasha was in deep trouble and they were all too far to get to her in time.
Suddenly something heavy landed on top of the quinjet startling Clint, but all he caught a glimpse of was…something blue? Whatever or whoever it was, ran from one end of the jet to the other and he quickly turned it around to find Thors baby sister soaring through the air towards the flying trailer.
“Holy shit.”
“What? What’s happening up there, Hawkeye?!” Steve called warily, “I also have eyes on the Maximoff twins!”
“Never thought I’d say this but damn am I glad to see Thor’s crazy little sister!”
Daisy landed on top of the trailer just as Ultron Prime did and he regarded her carefully as if he wasn’t sure what to make of her just yet.
“You are Asgardian.”
“And you are a machine.”
“A primitive deduction, but yes, I am.” He stepped closer, seemingly unbothered when she unsheathed her twin dragon fangs, “Those will not hurt me.”
“We’ll see, tin can. I don’t know what’s going on here but if the Avengers are fighting you then so am I.”
“A death wish.” Ultron hummed thoughtfully, eyes glowing redder, “So be it.”
He rushed her and Daisy met him half way on top of the trailer, ducking under her massive arms, getting a sense of Deja vu but unlike the Hulk, Ultron had tact in his combat skills. Daisy was forced on the offensive, nearly right to the edge of the container before she finally saw an opportunity. The Goddess of War flipped one of her swords around and lodged it deep within Ultrons core, shocking the robot that she was actually able to penetrate him.
Using his momentary shock to her advantage, Daisy used the hilt of her dragon fang to scale his large body and sat on his shoulders, using the other blade to catch him in a deadly chokehold. Daisy held the other end of her blade with her bare hand and pulled with all her might, despite his bucking and attempts to snatch her off of him.
It wasn’t long until she felt the machine's oil cover her legs and hands, and it was even sooner that she was tossing his head aside and retrieving her twin blade before kicking his body overboard. Paying no mind to the fact that the container was now falling out of the sky.
“Oh how I do love these heartwarming Earth greetings.” She chuckled, sheathing her blades as she made her way to the edge and she saw a familiar redhead and smiled brightly, “Saving your ass again, Red?”
Back at the Avengers Tower…
“Not that we aren’t grateful for your save back there, Daisy, but what are you doing here?” Clint finally asked once everyone was clean and settled in the common room with their respective choice of beverages.
It was a little odd seeing the Goddess of War outside of her armor and cloak, they all knew that she was a beautiful woman (psychotic too) but the tank top and black leggings she wore really showed off how defined the woman was. Sam didn’t think there was an ounce of fat on her at all. He was doing his best not to stare but damn.
Even Natasha was having a bit of trouble not staring at Daisy’s physique, does everyone in Thor’s family have good genetics? Those arms could squeeze a case of beer.
Daisy shrugged, “I have news but it seems that you all have enough on your hands already.”
“Good news or bad news?” Tony asked, kicking his feet up on the table, “Also, does this mean that you’re an Avenger now? Replacing your ever missing brother?”
“A little bit of both, I’m afraid,” Daisy said, declining the beer that Sam offered to her, Earth drinks did nothing for her and tasted just as badly, “Has Thor told any of you about Thanos?”
When all she got back was confused and blank looks, Daisy just sighed, but it was Wanda who spoke up, “Is he purple?”
Everyone looked at Wanda, even her brother, Daisy just raised an eyebrow, knowing that she sensed something about the young woman but she hadn’t really paid it any mind earlier but she is now.
“You’ve been in contact with an infinity stone, haven’t you? I can sense it on you…both of you.” Daisy said, eyes flickering to Pietro, but her grayish eyes were back on Wanda intently, “How do you know about the purple man?”
“Why am I not surprised?” Tony scoffed, “Everything bad that’s happened has been her fault anyway, why not this, right? Unbelievable.”
“Tony.” Natasha glared at him to keep his mouth shut but the billionaire merely rolled his eyes and downed his drink.
Wanda glanced around anxiously, clearing her throat—two weeks ago, she was trying to kill these people for Ultron; now she was sitting in their home, about to tell her life story? This was not how she envisioned all of this going.
Part of her still wanted Tony Stark dead but not at the expense of the entire world.
“I…” she hesitated, unsure but Pietro placed his hand, and she held on tight, “Hydra gave us these powers after he killed our parents.”
“Oh for the love of god! It wasn’t me!”
“Your weapons, your fault Stark!” Pietro hissed and Daisy realized that if she didn’t get these mortals in line soon, she’d never get the answers she was seeking.
Tony laughed mockingly, “Look, what do you two want? A check? An apology? Both?”
“Stark!” Steve snapped at Tony’s callousness, “Either shut up or leave.”
“Leave? Boy Scout this is my tower. The only one who needs to leave is—”
Ugh how the hell does Thor keep up with these humans?!
“Enough!” Daisy whistled as she stood, arms crossed and getting the attention of the Avengers and company, “I don’t care about Tony Stark, do with him as you please (“hey!?”) What I do care about is what you know about the Titan.”
Wanda blinked a couple of times before nodding and without looking at anyone else in the room except for the Asgardian woman—she began her tale right up until how she ended up sitting in the very tower she wanted to crumble.
All of the present Avengers, including Tony who at least looked like less of an asshole, were quiet, none of them sure of what to say.
“And since your time with this Hydra…you’ve dreamed of Thanos?”
“Glimpses, but yes, the purple man in the stars.” Wanda confirmed, eyes bright and tearful, she was scared that Daisy could tell, “What does it all mean?”
“It means that Earth is in far greater danger than I thought. There are six infinity stones known in this universe; the time stone, soul, reality, mind, power and space. Each stone represents something different as their names suggest but used together as one, the wielder will have the power to destroy anything.”
“Anything?” Maria asked and Daisy nodded.
“Yes. People, planets…solar systems…another universe.”
“And…where do these stones come from?” Bruce asked, more curious than he was worried like his teammates. It was the scientist on him really.
“Ah, well, the stones are older than life itself in this universe. Six singularities were created into these stones during the Big Bang and creation of life.” Daisy shrugged, licking her lips, “What? I may like cutting off a head every now and then, but a good book I can never pass up. I am a pirate queen after all. Information is key.”
“This Titan, Thanos, how many stones does he have already?”
“Good question, we don’t know, but what I do know is that this planet houses one too many and he will be visiting very soon. I currently have the power stone in safekeeping and Hela has the space stone, or the tesseract as you all know it to be. Loki’s scepter held the mind stone—which is still here on this planet.”
“And the third?” When Daisy tilted her head in the Widow’s direction, the redhead met her gaze head on, “You said Earth held three. What and where is the third?”
“The time stone. Hela’s already…had a chat with the sorcerer that protects it.” Daisy didn’t elaborate more on the subject, “Where is the mind stone?”
“Hydra still has it.” Clint sighed, “We were gonna come up with a plan to storm their base until someone created a word killing machine!”
Daisy glanced at Stark who glared right back, “You don’t get to fucking judge me, I was trying to do the right thing after she put those thoughts in our heads!” He pointed at Wanda angrily, “All of this is her fault!”
“I’d watch yourself if I were you,” Pietro warned and just like that the tension levels began rising again in the room but Daisy ignored all of that and got up from her seat, and stood in the middle of the room.
“Show me, Wanda.”
Wanda, surprised, opened and closed her mouth a few times, “Uh, what? Show you what…exactly?”
“You said that the mind stone gave you these powers, right? The mind reading, sure, but I have a theory about the others. Now please, show me what you can do.”
“Uh, hello, no, you don’t pay bills here and you’re not gonna pay for anything broken—”
“From what I hear, you have enough money to fix a broken jaw, Tony. I suggest you shut up before I decide to test that theory.”
Clint and Sam chuckled to themselves, hiding it behind their drinks and Steve sighed loudly—sometimes he wished that he was still frozen for another seventy years.
Wanda took her hand from Pietro’s as she slowly stood, fidgeting with her rings nervously and Daisy could see the light red wisps dancing between the woman’s elegant fingers. Daisy’s eyes narrowed but she didn’t voice her theory just yet. Not until she was absolutely sure.
“I…I don’t think—”
“Good. Don’t think. Do. Hit me.” Daisy pressed, bracing herself for a hit. After another moment of hesitation, Wanda sent a ball of red at the Asgardian but it barely phased the brunette and the warrior frowned when she looked down at her shirt that barely had a thing on it.
“Hit me like you mean it!”
“I can’t!”
“You can and you will. Pretend I’m Tony. Hit me like you want to hit—” Daisy grunted, her bare feet squeaking against the tiled floor before she stumbled backwards into a roll and her back hit the high rise glass with enough force to nearly break it, “Shit.”
Wanda’s hands quickly went up, eyes wide and she quickly rushed forward to make sure that Daisy was alright as well as Pietro who beat everyone to the woman but to their surprise, Daisy was laughing.
Half of her shirt was burnt to a crisp, thankfully it still gave the woman a bit of modesty and Steve quickly averted his eyes, cheeks reddening and Clint coughed into his hand, hightailing it to the bar.
“I…you’re laughing?!” Wanda cried, eyes still wide with worry and now fury, “I could have killed you! Are you alright?!”
Bruce poked Daisy’s midsection, but she slapped his hand away as Natasha and Maria helped her to her feet, “I’m fine. I’ve been hit with worse. In any case, I got what I need,” Daisy said, feeling the crispy ends of the remains of her tank top, it was still warm to the touch, “This isn’t mind stone magic, it’s yours Wanda.”
“Hers?” Pietro repeated, shaking his head and white locks, “No, no, Wanda’s never had any powers before Hydra, you’re mistaken, yes?”
“Nope.” Daisy removed her arms from Natasha and Maria, though she didn’t move from between the woman, “I’ve touched every single stone except the soul stone, and I know what they feel like. Trust me, child, I’m a lot older than I look. Wanda, you’ve always had this magic, but the mind stone might’ve unlocked it ahead of its years.”
“You know a lot about magic, don’t you?”
“I do.”
“Do…do you think you could teach me? How to control it?”
Daisy sighed heavily, this isn’t what she intended when she visited this goddamn planet—but the pleading look from Wanda and the expectant, near hopeful looks from the others, nearly had her giving in but Daisy also had other responsibilities to the realms she ruled over, including her own rock full of criminals and scavengers.
But now, Daisy also had another responsibility with this young little witch. She knew that trusting her in the care of Tony Stark of all people would be a terrible idea, destructive even. Daisy wasn’t all too familiar with chaos magic but she knew it when she felt it…and she knew it when she saw it. She’s read up on it a few times here and there.
And given her affinity for vast knowledge—Daisy knew that she was the only person who would do right by this woman, despite her…ways. Hela would also kick her ass if she knowingly left this sort of magic untamed and unprotected. Despite her sisters cold demeanor, witches were also sacred to her as well.
“Please,” Wanda asked again, moving into Daisy’s personal space and taking the woman’s hands in her own, and surprised by how soft they felt despite her chosen career path, “I…I don’t want to hurt anymore people than I already have, please—I will listen and—”
“I don’t do easy, Wanda.” Daisy warned, staring into Wanda’s eyes as if there were no one else in the room, “I don’t take shortcuts and I don’t accept mediocrity. You will cry, you will bleed and you will fucking hate me. Is that something you can handle?”
Wanda swallowed thickly, that sounded terrifying but she found herself nodding anyway, squeezing Daisy’s hands tightly in her own, not afraid of hurting her—it was apparent that it would take a lot to hurt this woman.
“Y-yes. I understand.”
“Good…and if I ask you for a hotdog, I fully expect several. Got it?”
“Uh, I…okay? Okay! Yes. Hotdogs.” Wanda agreed quickly, not understanding if Daisy meant literal hotdogs or it was another test—she suspected that she’d learn soon enough.
“C’mon, I’ll show you to your room…you too, Maximoff.”
Natasha pushed past the two women gently, leading them towards the elevators, all of them ignoring Tony’s complaints—because if everyone was being honest. It was all Tony’s fault anyway.
