Summary
Khonshu watches over his soon-to-be fist of vengeance (Marc Spector) but doesn't know it yet.(Marc's point of view)

Marc was on guard that night, he had to stay awake and attentive, the guard was from night to dawn, it was certainly easy for him, his insomnia made him sleep very little or almost nothing at night, so the guards Night shifts were relatively easy work.

He was walking around the area, checking that nothing was out of place and at the same time he was doing it, he wandered in his thoughts, many times he turned away from himself, he dissociated, but he still did not know that it had a name, he thought that something of what he did not have to worry about, sometimes he noticed that time was going very fast or very slow, he suspected that his notion of time was different from that of others but he did not give it enough importance, just as he did not pay attention to the other symptoms and traits of his illnesses, which Marc did not know only made his mental health even more damaged.

There were only a few lights on in the field, this so that the marines could sleep peacefully without any disturbance, Marc walked around and stepped on the dry ground with his heavy boots, he began to get tired, he almost always felt tired but he made an effort so that this It did not affect him, he raised his head and looked at the moon which today had the shape of a half moon and gave off a pleasant white light, there were many stars that accompanied the night sky that night, he stayed to observe but not for long, he resumed his walk and while he was doing it in the distance he saw a white figure in the middle of the field, in a state of rest, he did not make any movement, Marc walked towards the figure thinking that it was some threat but when he blinked quickly the figure disappeared, surprised Marc he thought that it was a bad play of his mind, it was not the first time he had seen strange things, still in confusion he ran in a straight line to where the figure was, holding clum sily holding his weapon Marc looked everywhere possible but there was no trace, he took out his flashlight from his pants and barely lit the place, when he looked and shined it on the ground he found something... a bright white powder that was on the ground and on his boots scattered, dust that surely the figure detached from itself, Marc tried to give him an explanation but he couldn't, he touched the shiny dust with his fingers but it quickly began to disappear, amazed, Marc couldn' t believe what he saw, no He finished understanding how that dust got on his boots.

—Marc Spector, son of the moon—

He heard a voice that spoke to his ear, he opened his eyes without containing his expression of surprise, it was terrifying just to hear that tone, a shiver ran through his body at the same time that he felt a muscular weakness typical of fear, he again examined his surroundings looking for where the voice prevented, but nothing, he found absolutely nothing, he was completely alone.

He did not want to feel more exposed than he already was, so in the midst of the confusion he returned to his post where he had previously stood guard, he tried to think very little about what had just happened but his mind did not allow it , it forced him to thinking about it, he looked at the ground as he walked and saw his black boots, without the dust

  —Spector!—

A scream took him out of his thoughts, the scream that made his ears rumble making them hurt, he looked up quickly and found his superior face to face, anxiety anxiety hugged him, from his mouth it did not come out no word

—What the hell do you think Marin is doing!?" You haven't been at his post for two hours! Any excuse!?—

Marc kept his gaze fixed on the fiery eyes of his superior, unblinking.

—Two hours…? I was only gone two minutes, sir—

Marc replied confidently

—Well, it was two damn hours, Marin! Does this seem tolerable to you? we are not caretakers of the useless—

—This is the third time this week that I have to call your attention, Spector—

Said the man erasing any smile from his face

—i'm sorry sir, it won't happen again.—

Marc apologized, trying to hide how anxious he was at the time.

—Hopefully this time it will come true.

Now as a rebuke, go around the whole field 50 times!—

ordered the superior firmly

 —yes sir!—

Said Marc while he made a sign of respect to his superior

Marc's superior turned around and left, Marc obsessively thought about everything that had happened, especially about the fact that in his perception only two minutes had passed but in the perception of others two hours had passed, none of this had a logical or rational explanation but Marc wanted to give it to him, he thought that maybe it was his DID and he attributed it to that but a part of him wanted to believe in the paranormal… maybe there was someone who was observing him outside the human plane.
