‘Hey Carol,’ she said weakly
‘Oh my, what happened? Did you get stabbed? Are you going to be okay? Did you already get treated? Are you-’
Val raised a hand and slapped it over the other’s mouth, silencing her avalanche of questions.
‘I’m going to be okay, Carol,’ She said with a smile
She walked towards the door, pausing for a moment to turn around to face Carol, who was trailing her closely.
‘Thank you so much for coming here.. I mean Thor is already gone to fight Gorr again and agh-’
A sharp pain pierced her, that ran all throughout her body, shooting directly from her heart. Her legs collapsed onto the floor, falling onto her knees in front of the other woman. Carol bent down to hold her up, back to standing position.
‘Thanks..’
‘Miss Brunnhilde? Can you please come in, we need to take your blood test for any damage…’ a nurse said in the doorway.
‘I’ll be right there,’ Val called after her as she walked back into the hospital, leaving Carol and Valkyrie alone together.
‘You could’ve died…’ Carol said, as her eyes dampened
‘I’m still here Carol! Never been better.’ She replied with brightness, ‘Anyway I should go in now.. If you want to stay you can come with me,’
Carol threw her arms around Val’s shoulders and crashed her lips against hers. It wasn’t gentle, it was a desperate kiss that had been bottled up inside for ages, feelings and words that couldn’t be expressed in words spilling into that contact. All pain was lost, no feelings for it anymore, nothing but purity and completion. They broke apart. Carol seemed infinitely more attractive now. Her golden hair that flowed just past her shoulder waved in the light breeze, every curve and etch on her face illuminated by the sun, like a delicate piece of carved wood.
‘I’m so sorry.. Uhm… I.. Uhh… Shouldn’t have..’ Carol muttered as she turned away
Before she could even think about walking away, Val grasped her hand, pulling her closer towards her so that their bodies were pressed onto each other, less than an inch from each other’s faces.
‘Kiss me again.’Val whispered
Carol smiled, leaning in for another kiss, her crush not just being a crush any more, a love. A gorgeous love that she could keep forever, being together, a power couple, someone to protect and care for. Love. Love. Love
