"Y/N?"
"Peter."
"What are you doi-
"Same as you, internship."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't think we were that close Parker."
The lab was silent for a second, the two boys staring at each other from across the room. Peter was in the middle of building something, nuts and bolts scattered everywhere, scrap pieces of metal haphazardly placed on the work bench. He had quickly hidden whatever he had been working on, pulling a oil rag over to cover the small piece of machinery.
"I feel like I'm interrupting something," a man in the corner said, waving his hands between the two.
"No, no Mr. Banner, me and (Y/N) just know each other from school that's all," Peter got out of his seat and walked over to where Tony and his classmate were standing.
"Pete! Well it's good you already know each other, makes it easier for me, if you just want to show him around a bit, I have work to do," and with that Tony was gone leaving a very awkward looking Banner to deal with the two.
"So, welcome to the lab!" the man got up to shake the boy's hand, "I'm Bruce Banner, you know The Hulk, yeah, um.. we're just working on some stuff right now."
There was an pause, a minute of silence no one seemed to want to fill. Until Bruce cleared his throat.
"I heard you liked computers!"
"Yeah, I like programming," he said, fiddling with his fingers.
"Well, we have lots of computers. How about you show him around a bit Peter."
"Uh, yeah sure. Well this is the lab," he gestured to the large space around them decked out with just about anything a scientist or engineer would want, "And we have some really cool computers back here, I'm sure you'll be given your own log in at some point. It's kinda all self explanatory. But I can show you the rest of the Avengers Headquarters if you'd like? If Bruce says yes of course."
"Just don't break anything," he already seemed to busy studying something under a microscope to care.
"Cool, cool. Well, it's this way."
He led them through the back doors of the lab, into a large space just behind the offices on the floor. Considering this floor was where the main lift went up too, the rest of the tower was the main area of the headquarters, meaning it only seemed to be them at around.
"So... Will I be seeing anymore of the Avengers?"
"Well, other than Mr. Stark and Mr. Banner, not many choose to live here and are only really around when they need to be and there haven't been many Avengers issues recently they've kinda been doing their own thing," Peter explained.
"And what about Spider-Man," he decided to tease, enjoying how nervous the brunette seemed to get.
"Spider-Man, also just does his own thing... he's pretty busy with the whole new hero thing. You know Sparrow Hawk, kinda came out of nowhere right."
"Yeah, very sudden," he resisted the urge to burst out laughing.
"Anyway, this is the main operations area! It's the control centre and where the boss sits when we're on missions. I mean, when they're on missions... like I'm not an avenger, no. I sometimes sit and watch though, that why I said we."
"Pfft, Peter."
"Sorry, I wasn't prepared for this, I didn't think they would choose another intern and I'm pretty new to this myself an-
"Peter it's fine, I didn't know I was doing this until like a week ago. I think it's because my parents work here, it's like free tutoring for them basically, they get me out the house," he said, patting Peter lightly on his shoulder, "So.. you said you help out with missions sometimes, does that mean you have a room here?"
"Yeah, I sometimes stay the night when Aunt May's busy, Mr. Stark gave me like a room and all like right next to some of the Avengers, like when Wanda and Pietro are about, they stay just down the hall," his face lit up as he talked, leading (Y/N) to the set of stairs near the back, "My room's two floors above, which is a lot of steps cause the elevators don't really go up to this bit but like it's good exercise and honestly the view is so cool."
He smirked as Peter excitedly began jogging up the stairs, turning around occasionally to tell him something about what he's been doing for the internship so far. Talking about how he's helping Tony with a personal project, some new innovative tech or something. He didn't really understand what many of the things he said meant, he was more of a computer guy than a physical tech guy. Cooling systems and souldering we're things he wasn't very knowledgeable in.
They walked down a short corridor and past four doors until they stopped outside a door with a gold plate reading 'Peter Parker on it. The boy opened the door with a flare before leading them inside.
"Woah..." he was lost for words, it was just as fancy as he expected a room in the tower to be.
"Welcome back Mr. Parker," a disembodied voice said.
"Friday, could you open the curtains please," the curtains opened in an instant leaving (Y/N) with his jaw hanging wide open.
"Curtains open Mr. Parker."
"Pretty cool isn't it, Friday's Mr. Stark's so, basically runs this whole place."
"So you can ask for stuff and it just does it."
"Yep, but watch this, this is so much cooler," he ran up to the window and tapped three times, the window seemingly fogging up to show a large tv screen.
"Damn, okay that's really cool," he flopped onto Peter's bed and looked around the room, from the mess on his desk and pile of clothes in the corner, he could tell this was defitetly his room and not just another fancy meeting room, and of course the big comfy bed in the middle of the room.
"So you deny the fact we're friends but just take up my whole bed."
"I said I didn't think we were that close, it's different. Like of course we do talk and stuff but only in science really," he turned his head to glance out of the now turned window.
He wondered if he would get a room like this if he became an Avenger, maybe even close to Peter's room. It would be pretty cool, no more having to steal his weapons and tech, a proper suit, people to back him up. But a lot of what's he's done so far has been highly illegal and he wondered how they would react to someone hacking into their servers and stealing their data.
"Well then, guy I'm not that close too, how about we get you logged into the system so you can start getting used to the software."
"You're never gonna let me live that down are you."
"Nope, definitely not."

Late night patrols were always his favourite, watching over the city, (E/C) eyes tracking the movements of the few people below. He was sat, legs dangling off the side of the building waiting for the ai he created to intercept the police radios. With the new access to the lab's tech, he had been able to upgrade his own computer's system to be able to work so much better than before, connecting it to his phone as well, so he could patrol for longer.
"Need back up," the tinny sound of the radio broke through the silence.
Finally, something to do.
A robbery not too far from where he was perched, at a popular bakery. He already heard the sirens, they still seemed to be far away so he had time to get in there and get out before the cops arrived. Simple, right?
He was quick to start, hopping over the flat roofs that lined the city, his years of climbing and multitude of sports his mums made him too really came in handy as jumped gracefully from the metal staircase on the side of an apartment to the top of the next building. He wasn't too far away now, climbing back down to the back street below. He heard voices, and an alarm going off just a few buildings away.
Coming up to the back entrance he snuck around to where the noise was coming from. Three men, all dressed in dark sports gear and wearing varying kinds of masks that seemed to come straight from some shitty party store. The front window had been broken, along with the door and the cash register was busted open on the floor. Grabbing whatever they thought was valuable, they didn't notice Sparrow Hawk silently making his way into the front, hand steady on the baton like escrima sticks that rested at his sides.
He snapped them together, creating a staff out of the two metal components, another good find from raiding an illegal weapon shipment. Getting closer and closer before swiping the closest thug off his feet and jabbing down on his chest to properly knock him to the floor. He moved quickly onto the next criminal, hitting him in his face and stomach, kicking him back with all his strength and ducking under a punch sent his way by the third man.
He wasn't necessarily the biggest or the strongest and he didn't have any sort of flashy power but he knew how to use his speed and agility to his advantage, all the hours he spent practising martial arts to impress his parents was finally coming in handy, except when his mums signed him up for those classes at the age of seven, they didn't expect him to use what he'd learned to fight crime.
