"Morning Star Recruitment"
[Featuring, in Odyssey skins: Jinx, Jack, Yasuo, Sora, Malphite]
A screen started to digitize before focusing on a recording. From there, a giant blue figure wearing a party hat on its head and a streamer in his mouth, was sitting down at a table.
“Happy Birthday, Big Guy!”
The figure seemed excited when the female behind the camera pulled out a cake for him. This all happened just before the screen digitized again. It then showed someone’s face close up to the camera, seemingly trying to mount it onto something.
“Just a sec…”
After securing the camera into a position, the girl gave it another lookover. To say she had a bizarre appearance would be quite the understatement. The girl had orange hair that was cut into a main mohawk and parted to one side. She wore a short blue t-shirt that had a white emblem of a skull and crossbones, only the skull was an alien head. One of the other most noticeable features of her had to be the yellow robotic arm she had on her left side. Along with various parts sticking out for the arm, there was also a large tube with wire that extended from the back of her head; seemingly to copy the long braid she had for her hair.
Once she deemed the camera position okay, she gave two thumbs up to said camera.
“...there!”
The screen then immediately cuts to what appeared to be a makeshift title sequence for whoever was watching.

“A Morning Star
RECRUITMENT
Video”
When the camera came back from the intro cards, there was a dummy sitting on a rolling chair with a drawing of a smiley face.
“Hey Dummy, do you ever dream of a life among the stars?”
The dummy was immediately kicked in the head and sent off to the side as the redhead girl came back into frame. She rested her forearm on the spinning chair, stopping its momentum before addressing the camera.
“Well now you can live that dream aboard our magnificent ship: The Morning Star!”
After proceeding to move the chair, pull down a green screen cover, give a mocking salute, and step out of frame, the image of a starship appeared while rock music played in the background. The spacecraft itself was mainly yellow in color, with some blue stripes and other highlights all around. There were engines on either side of the front, with three additional engines in the back. The whole thing almost looked like a giant weapon (Seriously, doesn’t it look like a giant gun or something?). This ‘display’ screen, however, showed the ship with a very bright background of bright greens, purples, pinks and yellow. There were even other animated decals, like fire and a buff unicorn that had “I {heart} JNX” on its bicep.
This brief moment was suddenly interrupted when the girl from before came a little too close to the camera.
“Let’s meet the crew.”
After another cut from the camera, it showed the large blue figure from earlier. He seemed to be making a miniature version of the Morning Star ship inside a glass bottle.
“First up is Malphite. Big Boy with a heart of gold”
Although no sooner did she say that, the model ship inside the bottle broke apart. After a split second of surprise from the giant, he had activated energy beams on his arms and smashed down onto the table in anger.
“..hehe..we’re still working on his temper”
Her remark was immediately interrupted by a cry from Malphite. Looking back, he had picked up the table and was about to chuck it into the girl’s direction.
The camera then fizzled to a new scene, where there was a white haired man reading a book. He was kneeling on a carpet that had candles lit around the edges.
“Then, there’s Yasuo. Our Captain. Nothing phases this guy”
For a second, the redheaded girl panned into view with the same orange training dummy from earlier.
“Watch…………HEADS UP!”
Tossing the dummy to Yasuo, the man immediately drew out a sword and started slicing the large yellow mannequin. This also startled a small creature that was napping on the carpet, and crawled on the window away from the action. When he quickly returned to his sitting pose with the book, the mannequin had been diced into pieces. The camera then zoomed in on Yasuo’s face, which proceeded to give a silent gasp after turning a page in his book and reading the contents inside.
Another cut from the camera showed a more spacious room. Various tools, parts, and scrap were both somehow organized and cluttered in the given area. Sketched blueprints and a couple posters scattered various parts of the wall. Another corner showed a type of metallic board with a couple plugs inserted to the center engine. After another pan from Jinx holding the camera, it came across a man sitting on a swivel chair. He had short, dirty blonde hair and oddly a biker-type appearance with his leather-like material for a jacket, somewhat normal jeans and durable boots. The man was so focused on his work that he didn’t hear the redhead enter the space.
“Next, we have Jack: our backup mechanical engineer, temporary medical expert, and really, the glue holding together the crew.”
It wasn’t until his name was said before the man turned and looked in the general area, before noticing the female and the camera. He took off his goggles, exposing his silvery eyes and addressed the recording device while moving his various tools to clear a space to rest his arms.
“Oh, uh, yea. I, uh, I’m basically the go-to maintenance guy: making sure everything is running smoothly. Well, preferably with minimal problems, but here on the Odyssey…that tends to be rare from all parties aboard.”
While she gave Jack a chance to talk about himself to the camera, Jinx was looking at various items that were scattered in the given space. Her eyes landed on a metal spherical device that was put off to the side. There was a small post-it that had the word “Test Item” on it, but it fell as soon as the redhead picked up the device.
“Ooo, what’s this?”
Unfortunately the redhead didn’t realize her thumb had accidentally pressed a button, activating the machine. It wasn’t until it made a certain sound did Jack look over to what she was doing. Upon realizing what was happening, his eyes widened in surprise.
“Wait, Don’t -!”
Of course, before he could get any other word out, the noise was disrupted from the device as it spontaneously combusted. Instead of an actual explosion, however, a greenish foamy substance had covered the lens of the camera. Wiping the recording machine, it showed the man, woman, and part of the room covered in the same substance. Jack finished his sentence in an annoyed tone.
“...touch that.”
After a soft apology was heard by the redhead, the screen digitized again, and the camera was now focused on said redhead. She had quickly adjusted the camera again before picking up a weapon of sorts from the ground. It was an over-the-shoulder heavier weapon that had features similar to a shark: a head with sharp teeth, fins, and glowing eyes.
“And finally, me: Jinx. Your trusty pilot.”
She had stated while posing with her rocket launcher. Turning the camera, it showed the other crew members fighting an odd monster of sorts. It had a flower-shaped head with a giant mouth in the center and no visible eyes or nose. Its limbs consisted of a mix of tentacles and crab-like legs. The creature had one of its tentacles wrapped around Malphite and proceeded to thrash him around while Yasuo and Jack were attacking it in a mix of slicing and smaller explosions; the latter flying around on a hovercraft similar to what was shown in his room.
“I ALSO LIKE EXPLODING STUFF!!”
No sooner did she say that, Jinx turned around and fired her rocket at the creature. The blast seemed to knock everyone back, including the camera while temporarily messing with the audio for a second. A chunk of the monster fell into view as Jinx can be seen picking up the camera. Her face was partially covered with the goo from the now-deceased monster they were fighting.
Panning the camera back to the other members, they too were covered in the same substance while half of the creature’s corpse could be seen in the background. As they were exchanging fist bumps, the moment was soon interrupted by a shadow of something from the sky. Suddenly, a giant leg came crashing down just behind the guys. Looking up with the camera, Jinx revealed what it was: A giant version of the creature they just killed. It roared at the crew, exposing its gaping mouth and endless rows of teeth going down the creature's throat. This caused the crew to run in the opposite direction, also turning Jinx around as she just let out a crazed laugh.
With another cut from the camera, we now see the redhead in what appeared to be her living quarters. She was sitting on a large mounted chair that had numerous speakers near the headrest. In the background, there were other items such as a bed, a training dummy(?), and a colorful pink vibe to the whole room. [Yea, I really didn’t know how to describe that part of the video, if you couldn’t tell.]
“But wait, there's more! We do all kinds of junk, like:”
Pulling out a device similar to the modern day phone, she brought it up to the camera to show various pictures. The first two appeared to be in the “living room” area of the ship, where one showed Yasuo on a long couch with headphones in, seemingly lost in whatever he was listening to while Jack sat next to him, doodling something in a small sketchbook. The TV behind them had some sort of program that had words near the top. This was shown to be a karaoke mode in the next image, where Jinx and Malphite were both seen with microphones; singing to their heart's content. While Yasuo seemingly tried tuning them out, Jack had looked up at the pair with a small smirk visible on his face.
“Recreational Activity”
The next two pictures showed only three of the four crew members. The first was Jinx taking a blowtorch to one of Malphite’s gauntlets while wearing a face shield, as the big guy himself was hiding his face with his hands; although he was peeking with one of his eyes to see what the girl would do. Next to them was Jack, who looked at the pair with a slight wince to his face at their attempt while holding paper in one hand and medical equipment in the other.
The next image showed the redhead and giant looking at the camera, while Jack was looking in shock towards Malphite’s face. Both Jinx and Malphite were giving thumbs up to the camera, unaware that the blowtorch in the pilot’s hand was still on and setting the blue giant's beard on fire; which explained the look on the other mechanic’s face.
“Hands-On Medical Training”
The last photo in the gallery was actually a video of the crew, with the still frame indicated by a white play button with a circle. All the members were sitting around a table. Yasuo and Jack were on one side of the table, with the captain giving a concerned look while Jack looked invested in the game. On opposite ends were Jinx and Malphite, who were the players in the holographic chess looking game they were playing. Both of them had huge grins on their faces, making their enjoyment of the game ever so clear.
“Aaaaaand, Team Building Exercises!!”
Her finger then pressed the pay button on said video. As soon as it started, Malphite took a piece of his and knocked over one of Jinx’s. This display came out as effective, since the pilot went through a short series of visible emotion: From shock at what the giant was able to pull off, to anger that he managed to do just that. Glaring at Malphite for only a second, Jinx leapt over the table to attack him.
“@#!$%@# KILL YOU @%$!%$ BLOODY $@%^!$...”
This caught both the captain and mechanic off guard with her sudden outburst. Granted, it was made clear that this wasn’t the first time something like this happened. No sooner did Jinx and Malphite disappear from camera view, Jack also got up and made his way to that area quickly while trying to get Jinx’s attention.
“Hey, Hey!!! Jinx, get the hell off of him!!! JINX!!!!STOP!!!!!”
While the rest of the audio was hard to transcribe, the only thing shown was Yasuo looking in the direction of where the rest of the crew was before altering the game pieces himself.
Without any transition, the camera was suddenly on Jinx again.
“Ooo, here’s the best part:”
After pressing a button on a console, the screen changed again, before displaying the recording of a hallway. There were a bunch of robots that were charging towards a certain spot. Said spot had a person twirling a scythe in a blur of purple and yellow light, mowing down any robot that came near.
“This beautiful and psychotic assassin wants to annihilate our entire crew!!”
From various camera angles, the stranger showed no mercy for any of the metal automations. Especially on the last robot, where he seemingly used a type of magical move that caused the machine to explode. The figure landed with a pose near the camera, only just noticing the recording device.
“Here’s a little message he left us:”
Grabbing the camera from the floor, the man positioned it where his facial features could be made out properly. He had armor with purple shading in some places, while not wearing a helmet. His deep blue hair was parted one way while the other side was buzzed short. The other noticeable features this stranger had on his head was the eyepatch over his left eye, his right glowing with a golden light, and various tattoos all over. Breathing heavily in a mix of slight exhaustion from the fight shown earlier, and what sounded like anger, he finally spoke to the camera.
“You took what is mine! I will find her, and I- -”
The video had been paused before rewinded to the part where he landed after the explosion. This “second-long” segment repeated to play for a couple of times. Panning back out, Jinx was resting her head on the end of the table while giving a certain look to the man in the recording.
“So cool…”
Whatever thought/statement Jinx was about to remark was instantly interrupted by a siren blaring. Looking around, she got up to see what it was about, but not without taking the camera with.
“So, consider this your- -”
For a brief moment, she accidentally bumps into Malphite. The large creature was handling a large round for one of the ships weapons. He merely grunted in annoyance before sliding the round into a slot, while Jinx carried on with what she was saying.
“- -invite to join the greatest crew in the galaxy.”
Panning over to the other side, there was a long console/table that had an orange holographic display. Yasuo was moving images around while Jack/ who was just behind the captain/ was tinkering with a separate panel. When the white haired swordsman took notice of Jinx recording, he signaled her to shut it off. As Jinx moved her way through towards the front, there was a visible sign of frustration coming from the captain.
“The only question now is…”
Jinx had made it to where she needs to be: the piloting seat. Putting the camera on one side, she hopped back into the other chair, legs crossed while addressing the camera.
“What are you waiting for?”
Suddenly, Yasuo got a hold of the camera. Briefly glimpsing into the lens, he gave a disapproving nod. Behind him, the sounds of Jinx complaining and slight pleading can be heard, along with another voice.
“Hey, Yasuo! Stop! Not the Camera! We need that!”
From the sounds, Jack had only been made aware of what was going on as Yasuo was putting the recording device inside a tube. Through a series of turns, it ended up getting ejected from the ship. For a brief moment, Jinx and Jack could be seen by one of the windows. While Jinx pounded on the glass in defeat, Jack was only there for a second before running off.
As the camera got a good view of the ship passing, there was a small streak of yellow light that had come from the side of the ship and was shown heading towards the camera. Said person, when appearing closer to the camera, was unaware of the fact that a giant monster was following the ship before getting blasted back by its propulsion, as the Morning Star had jumped to anywhere but that current location. Coming upon the recording device, they brushed up the sides while looking into the lens for damage.
“I swear, he has NO respect for any kind of technology, but his own metallic toothpick…”
Hearing a gurgling sound coming from behind, Jack turned around and ended up face to face with the creature. For a moment, it just did nothing but stared at the smaller human. However, Jack knew better...
“...oh shit.”
The monster roared at Him before all that could be seen was the glowing blue inside of the creature's mouth. The screen had fuzzled again before making a new image. The footage had appeared to be continuing from the very beginning, as it only showed Malphite in a party style. He was about to eat a slice of cake, but stopped the action when the giant took notice that he was still being recorded.
Upon stopping the recording, it's shown to be two people on either side of the TV used for the video. On its left side was Jinx, who held the remote for the device. The other side had Jack, who was near the camera used to record the video: both him and the piece of technology were covered in a pink gooey substance that could only be known as part of the insides from the creature that attacked him and the camera.
“So kid, what do you say?”
Opposite of the TV were the remaining two members of the Morning Star crew. Malphite and Yasuo were both sitting on the couch, but they weren’t alone. Between them, and currently sitting next to the orange test dummy seen many times prior, was another person. She was wearing quite a bizarre yet elegant dress, one that really made her stand out from the members of the Morning Star crew. It had a combination of turquoise, black and white that blended well between the dress and cape. Her upper half of the cape had a golden ring that circled around but behind her head; almost like a vertical halo. Part of her clothing included a matching hood that hid her hair and other head features, but left her face clear to see.
As Malphite clapped his hands in anticipation, as if hoping this stranger were to accept the invitation from the video, her glowing golden eyes widened. Some might say this would be from the utter cluster of what she just saw, or others might look deeper into the meaning, and see that the female has found an opportunity that links to something much bigger...
