The Electrocutioner
Back at the hotel, Spidey was trying to get some answers about the Miraculouses from Ladybug. It wasn’t going so well. Seems Kraven’s attack had left her traumatised about even the mention of Miraculous. Didn’t help that Nova didn’t seem to understand the need for sympathy in this situation. It took three tries to get her to explain her powers, during which Spidey was left alone with her and Nova when White Tiger, Power Man and Iron Fist had to leave as an alert came through. It didn’t help that said attack was by a certain Electrocutioner and his monstrous friend…
“…a further development on the situation detailing the presence of five extra supervillains who attacked and murdered Cat Noir earlier this evening. City Hall and the Louvre are among the locations terrorised by this…” Nadia was cut off by a volt of lightning shockingly close to her. No pun intended. Electrocutioner landed, stroking Thunderbolt’s head.
“You reporters… all bark, no bite. Me and my pet aren’t even breaking a sweat!”
“Err… Nadja Chamack…”
“…local news, don’t be bemused, blah blah blah! Now… is this thing live?” Nadja was smart enough not to risk this guy’s wrath. She gave the nod. Electrocutioner smiled. “Citizens of Paris! You’ll no doubt be well-acquainted with me and my friends by now! I am Electro, now with added Cutioner! My friends and I have come in search of the one you call Ladybug and another hero with whom you should be somewhat familiar – Spider Man! I will give you all this warning – I will be waiting at City Hall for the superheroes. If anyone tries anything to keep them out of our hands…” Electrocutioner fired a lighting bolt at a passer by in the background, causing them to explode violently. He climbed back onto Thunderbolt and flew away.
“Was that… Electro?”
“Looks like he’s had an upgrade since last time. Hey Ava… you don’t think he’s working with this Hawk Moth guy Spidey mentioned?”
“Hmm… the file said he has the power to create supervillains from negative emotions. And with his extra Miraculous, I think it’s called, he can create monstrous sidekicks for them as well. Kraven would undoubtedly benefit from either.”
“It isn’t just Kraven who’s haunting these streets, Ava.”
“Don’t act like the others are more important to capture, Luke.”
“Hey, I don’t like the thought of Rhino in this city any more than you do with Kraven, but I ain’t getting too blinded by vengeance to think straight!”
“Perhaps that is only because you were able to avenge your loved ones, whereas me and her did not.”
“I never lost them, Danny. But I see your point.”
“Talk later, haven’t we got a powered-up Electro to delay us getting to Kraven?” The male heroes nodded. And off they set for the City Hall.
“Reports are coming through from around the city hall. Electro’s really going to town on this one.”
“It’s a vital operation we have here, Scorpion. We must make sure the spider doesn’t ruin it!” Rhino cut Octavius off with a cough. He pointed to the computer. Oh no. Three of Spider Man’s allies were close to City Hall already. “Oh, that’s just great(!) Spider Man and his little friends are making an advance towards Electro already!”
“We may have to recall my akuma to use the loophole at this rate…” Doc Ock swatted Shadow Moth away with his mechanical arms.
“I have a better idea. You four get out there for support. Mr Agreste and I will begin proceedings with the prisoners.”
“We’re actually going to do it now?”
“Spider Man’s presence is a worrying gesture. I’m not about to make this easy for him! We must accelerate our plans.” Shadow Moth gave the nod as the other four made their leaving preparations.
“Miscreant sighted breaching the main doorway, your honour! I don’t think we’re going to be able to hold much longer!”
“Lutientent Raincomprix, I appreciate a breath of realism in this situation, but I cannot permit you to desert your mayor under any circumstances!”
“If I may be so bold, I believe you should’ve fled with your family when you had the chance.” Andre sank in his chair.
“Maybe… maybe you’re right, Roger. I should’ve left. But I must win the re-election if I am to keep satisfying them. And that will necessitate I start to act more like a man!” Before Roger could respond, a massive electric blast ripped the door off its hinges.
“Mayor Bourgeois! I’m taking control! This city is now under jurisdiction of the Sinister Six! Surrender your office!”
“Never!” Electrocutioner snapped his fingers and cuffs of lightning bound the Mayor and Lutientent to the floor. “Urgh! These handcuffs won’t change my mind!”
“Then maybe this will!”
“Kraven?! What are you doing here? I’m handling this just fine!”
“The octopus begs to differ. The spiders’ friends are on the way to dethrone you. We cannot let them. Oh, and our bargaining chip?” Kraven threw down a long sack from his shoulder. He knelt down and cut part of the top off with one of his laser knives. Exposing the gagged head of a certain repulsive blonde. That certainly made Mayor Bourgeois change his tune.
“Chloe…?! Huh! Don’t you dare lay a finger on my beautiful girl!”
“I’ve killed tonight already. You do not want to make me do so again.” Before the Mayor could respond, a sudden loud impact sound was heard. In leapt three of the SHIELD trainees.
“Kraven!” At the mention of his name, the hunter stood up quickly and looked in Ava’s direction. He gave a sinister smile.
“White Tiger! What a pleasant surprise!”
