Exclaibur setting. Kitty's age? 18 to 19 but this can be seen as pre-romance.
"SURPRISE!" Every single member of Excalibur shouted with vibrant enthusiasm, Meggan's hair is matching her bubbly self- her hair is shinning and moving in funny patterns- "it's your birthday Kitty Cat"
Kitty, wearing her blue uniform, blinks so slowly and gently takes in account the lighting house's decorations. For someone who menages to hack a system of computers of alien culture- she can brag, a little- it took solids 2 minutes for her to register their words.
"WAIT...IS MY BIRTHDAY?!"Kitty blurted out and Lockheed comes flying towards her- giggling all the way- holding a calendar to prove it is her birthday. "SHIT! I FORGET"
"I didn't" Kurt speaks amused as he puts a funny hat on Kitty. "Happy birthday, Kitty Cat" Kitty takes the hat and sees many images of cats.
Wait...the entire lighting house is on...
"Kurt...cat puns?" Kitty asked as she noticed his sweater. It had an image of a cat. The ballons are cat shapped, some of the sweet treats have a cat phase.
"For you, we figure you deserve a funny and cozy party" Kurt won't mention about the time Excalibur took her to a bar. Introverts and bar don't bode well.
Cerise steps in. Holding a gift. "Plus, in my culture cats should be celebrated, you are a warrior. A warrior cat" Cerise proudly declares and Kitty is holding back from laughing.
Yeah I read the books.
Cerise gives her a present, also wrapped in a cat theme. Kitty looks at Kurt for a moment. His golden eyes look at the scene fondly- Kitty's stomach drop at this. She won't delve why- unwrapping the gift she see...
"Bells?" Kitty asked and Cerise nods too happy for the gift to be seen as in poor taste.
"I want to celebrate your existence, your name. Warrior cat" she prompts. "In Shi'ar we adore Pheonix" Kitty can't help by looking at Kurt- Pheonix is a word he doesn't talk. We were there.- but Kurt and his golden eyes are impossible to read. "As well Flurgens, brave cats, as you humans call, why are fearsome allies and foes. I pray for your transformation to be as swift as the others"
Kitty looks at the bell as the words are finally clicking in. Same for Kurt as he is in a mix of laugh, chided or protect Kitty.
"Cerise, I'm not a cat in human skin..." she is doing her best to hold her smile. Cerise looks dumbfounded. "My name is Kitty Pryde, no affiliation with cats"
Cerise looks confused. Kitty thanks her for the bells and offers a sweet treat. "So you won't ascend to godhood?"
Kitty wondeds a lot about those cats. "Sadly not. Just good old me" answers and Cerise nods.
Kurt talks first once Cerise is shocked Kitty won't be a god cat. "I had no idea she would give you this" it's an apology. Kitty waves off.
"I had worse gifts...plus, she didn't do out of malice" Kitty has to think on what to do with the bells. "Is the cat pun your idea?"
"Yes" the elf replies without hesitation. "Your name is iconic and we should also celebrate" Kitty's lips curl into a smile, she hugs him and thank you.
"But this is one time only" Kitty alerts him.
Meggan calls for them. The cat cake is here. It's a cake with a photo of a cat. "It won't be a CATstrophe to celebrate your day" Meggan is over the moon. Too happy for a birthday is not even hers.
Rachel is back from the kitchen. "I used the Phoenix's power to get us beer, the best kind" and offers a cup to the brithday girl. Brian doesn't want to see the beer and stays with coca cola, Meggan drinks coca as well.
A cake shall be eaten. Beer will be drink and Kitty looks at Kurt who smiles at her.
Not a bad birthday.
