Summary
Daisy and Kora went to see St. Agnes Orphanage, and Daisy ran into an old friend.
Note
There aren't really any Daisy/Matt fics at all, so I decided to write one myself. Since there aren't many fics of them, I didn't want to write one that was purely romantic or platonic bc I know there are people who don't ship them and would rather read fics of them having a platonic relationship. I tried writing this so that you can think of it as either one you want. Unfortunately, this also means that this fic isn't 100% completed either. I'll write in the end notes of how I would've written it if I went in the romantic route, and the platonic route.

It had only been a few weeks since Daisy returned to the present timeline. It was the beginning of August, and all she wanted to do was sleep for the rest of the year. Being in the past, and having to go through everything that she did, took an emotional toll on her. She had lost her mother, again, she went through a brutal surgery when Nathaniel Malick transferred some of her spinal fluid so that he could also manipulate vibrations, she lost Enoch, and Deke was also no longer with the team since he decided to stay in the other messed up timeline to allow everyone else to go home, and she also was able to talk Coulson again. Of course, she had mixed feelings about the whole ordeal with LMD Coulson. She was glad that she was able to talk to him again, but it wasn’t Coulson.

Despite all of that, there were some good things that came out of Daisy’s last mission with the team. She found out that she had a sister, she had befriended Daniel Sousa and saved him from dying, she became an aunt to Fitz-Simmons’ daughter, and she was going to finally take a break from going on any new missions for a good long while. Since Daisy didn’t have a house to go to, she and Kora  had been staying at the lighthouse while they tried to figure out another living arrangement. It had been slightly awkward at first, suddenly having a sister who tried to kill her and her friends at first. It was also kind of weird because technically Kora was about 30 years older than her sister, and she “died” in 1983 which was five years before Daisy was born.

Daisy had been sparring with her sister for about an hour before they decided to take a break.

“Okay, I don’t know about you, but I definitely need to get out of this place. I honestly have  spent more time here at the lighthouse than I’ve ever wanted, and I’m really starting to get sick of this place,” Daisy had proclaimed, standing in front of her sister, hands on her hips.

Kora giggled, “Where do you want to go then?”

Daisy looked at the ground, biting her lower lip. Where should we go? Well, I never got to show her the orphanage I grew up at. Do I really want to go back there? Not really, but it can’t be that bad to go right? Just go to the church and orphanage. We don’t even have to go inside, just stand on the sidewalk and go somewhere else.

“You know how I told you that I kinda grew up at an orphanage?” Daisy looks up at her sister.

“Yes.”

“You wanna… go look look at it? It’s not my favorite place in the world, and it’s not somewhere I ever thought that I would go back to visit, but I wouldn’t mind going to show my sister,” Daisy asks.

Kora took a moment before answering, “Are you sure you want to go back? I don’t mind going or not, but if you’re not comfortable, we don’t have to go.” Kora was intrigued, and did want to go see the place where her younger sister had lived. Although, she would feel better about going if her sister really wanted to go as well.

“No, it’s fine. I honestly would feel much better being there again if I had you with me,” Daisy replied with a smile.

"Okay, let’s get ready then. How far is it from here?” Kora asked.

“I’m… actually not sure. I’ll look up the directions after I shower and change. It shouldn’t be that long of a drive though, because it’s here in New York,” answered Daisy as she was walking over to get her mini water jug from a nearby bench.

“I’ll meet you at the garage then?” Kora asked as she and Daisy started walking out of one of the rooms they repurposed to become a training room.

“See you there,” Daisy smiled as she walked in the opposite direction to her room.

It turns out that driving there was actually a five hour drive. So Daisy begged Mack to have someone go with them to pilot the quinjet. He would only let her if she beat him best 2 out of 3 at Mario Kart. It was a close game, but she came out victorious.

Piper had ended up piloting for them, but she had to find a place to stay with the quinjet while Daisy and Kora spent their day in Hell’s Kitchen.

The two sisters were walking in the direction of where Clinton Church and St. Agnes Orphanage was at. Daisy had been nervous the entire ride there, but she was also curious to see how different the place was since she ran away about fourteen years ago.

Once they had gotten to the front door of the church, Daisy stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes were wide, and her heart was beating out of her chest. Her time at the orphanage wasn’t pleasant. She remembers how scary the nuns had been, how she wasn’t able to make friends because every time she was sent back to the orphanage after living with a foster family, the children would gossip about how no family would ever want to keep her, she was also bullied because of the ridiculous name she was given, not to mention, the amount of religious trauma she had from her time there.

Kora looked over at her sister, nudging her slightly with her elbow. “You know we could stay out here and you can tell me any story you want from your time here. Or we could just stand here, and look at the church. Whatever you’re comfortable with doing.”

Daisy took a deep breath, “I mean, I guess it wouldn’t hurt just standing here.” She was looking up at the wooden doors. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a nun and a man sitting at a nearby bench, but refused to look over at her, worried that the nun might’ve been one of the ones who scared her. “I remember it was the first time I had been returned from a foster family, I tried running away and hiding here in the church. I was like seven, so of course I didn’t know any better. I thought that if I hid in the church, I could wait until a family comes in and just beg them to let me go home with them. It didn’t work.”

“Mary Sue Poots?” A voice called out.

Daisy turned to look at the nun, who had gotten up from the bench and started walking towards her. It took her a moment to remember her name, “Sister Maggie?”

Sister Maggie smiled at her, “I thought that I was never going to see you again.”

“Yea, that was… sorta the plan,” Daisy deflected with an awkward joke. She took a moment before continuing, “I’m not sorry for running away. I hated living at the orphanage, and I hated going to multiple foster homes only to be sent back every time.”

Sister Maggie shook her head slightly, “I don’t blame you for feeling that way.” For a few seconds they just looked at each other.

Daisy then turned her head to look at her sister, “Oh, uh, Kora. This is one of the nuns from the orphanage when I was living there, Sister Maggie.” She then looked over at the nun, “This is my sister, Kora.”

Sister Maggie smiled and extended her hand out to Kora, “It’s nice to meet you.”

“Likewise,” Kora replied as she shook the nun’s hand.

Sister Maggie looked over at the man she had been sitting with, “Oh you two give me one second, I’ll be right back.” She walked over to the man and guided him to where the sisters were at.

Daisy was looking at the dark red tinted glasses and the cane he had, something about that combination was familiar. She racked her brain, thinking of her time at the orphanage, “Matt?” she asked.

He smiled, “Skye. It’s been a while.”

Daisy was remembering how Matt had left the orphanage to go to university.  At the time she had been fourteen, but she was actually fifteen, and she thought that she would never see him again.

Kora looked over at her sister, “Skye?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Daisy chuckled, “Yea, when I was around 13, I tried convincing the kids at the orphanage to just call me Skye. Matt here was the only one who ever did. We weren’t close friends or anything, but we would talk to each other every once in a while. Having about a 3 plus year age difference didn’t allow us to interact with each other very much, especially during classes. Oh and by the way, you all got my age wrong. I’m a year older than what you told me I was.” Daisy looked over at Sister Maggie.

“I’m glad you were able to find that out,” she replied. Daisy couldn’t tell if she was being sarcastic or not. “Did you all want to sit inside? I could have us sit in a room inside the church where there’s a long table, and we can enjoy something to drink,” Sister Maggie asked the other three.

Daisy and Kora looked at each other, as if they were having some sort of silent conversation.

“I guess it wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. I kind of feel weird just standing out here anyways,” Daisy had answered. Even though she had been incredibly nervous about being there, Daisy felt that she was more comfortable being there with her sister, and having been able to meet Matt there as well.

The four of them sat at the end of the long table in one of the rooms that was in the church. Sister Maggie offered to get beverages for the three adults, and they all asked for just a cup of water.

Sister Maggie sat at the very end of the table with Matt on her right, and Daisy on her left which caused the two to face each other. Kora had taken a seat next to Daisy.

Sister Maggie took a sip of her water and asked, “Mary Sue, may I ask how you ended up finding your sister? Does this mean you found your parents? Or is she an adopted sister?”

“Wow, you’re just going straight in for it huh,” Daisy gave a nervous laughter. “Oh, and it’s Daisy now, but anyways, um… it’s… kind of a complicated story I guess. Can I ask you this first though? Were you there when the woman dropped me off at the orphanage? Did you see her, or speak to her?” she asked.

Sister Maggie looked at Daisy in surprise, “Yes, I was there when she brought you to us. She didn’t say anything directly to me. She did all the talking with Sister Dora. You know, she’s actually the one who named you Mary Sue Poots.”

Daisy looked down at her cup, “I know she was the one who said  to make sure I never stayed in the same foster home for more than two years. She wanted me to be safe, it was really the only way to ensure my protection, but then she ended up being killed trying to protect me.”

“How did you find that out?” Sister Maggie curiously asked.

Daisy gave a small smile, “It’s a long story, but to answer your initial question, I did find my parents about five years ago. Or well, two different people found them for me I guess. That is also a long and complicated story. Um…  after I met my parents, I found out that my birth name is actually Daisy, and that my parents hadn’t been together consecutively since I was brought to the orphanage. It turns out, I was born in China and lived there for the first year of my life before an incident occurred which caused me to be seperated from my parents, and I was brought here. Apparently my father had been trying to look for me for twenty-five years, and my mother went back to her home and stayed there. Shortly after I reunited with my parents, another incident occurred which caused my mom to end up getting killed, and my father forgetting that I even exist. He actually doesn’t remember my mom, and that he was married at all. I, of course, know where he is, but I think it’s for the best for not only himself, but for everyone really, if he didn’t know about me.”

It was silent for what felt like an hour, while Matt and Sister Maggie digested what Daisy had just shared.

“Daisy, I’m sorry that happened to you, but I am glad you were able to meet your parents.” Matt said to her.

Daisy looked up at him, “Please, don’t worry about it. Like I said, it happened years ago. But anyways, with Kora here, I actually just found out that she and I share the same mother not too long ago. So yea, that’s why I’m here again. I thought that I’d show her the place I grew up at. Don’t ask where she was this whole time”

“Another long and complicated story?” asked Matt, with a smirk.

Daisy pointed at him, “He gets it.” She then addressed him, “But how about you? What've you been up to since leaving the orphanage?"

"I attended Columbia for law school, and there I became best friends with my roommate, Foggy Nelson. After we graduated, we worked as interns at a law firm, Landman and Zack. After a few years, we decided to quit because they cared more about protecting big corporations than innocent people. We decided to start our own law firm, Nelson and Murdock. Our very first client, Karen Page, ended up becoming our secretary there. We all had our ups and our downs, and for a time we had to close Nelson and Murdock. After some time, we decided to reopen it and rename it Nelson, Murdock, and Page," Matt answered.

Daisy smiled, "That sounds interesting."

Sister Maggie looked over at Daisy and Kora and asked, "Where are you two planning on going after leaving this place?"

"I figured we would just go get something to eat first. I'm not sure what after," replied Daisy.

“I can show you my law firm, and introduce you to my partners,” Matt suggested.

“Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to impose, if you guys are busy.”

“Nah, it’ll be alright. I would be happy to show you around.”

Daisy looked over at her sister, “You wanna go?”

“If you want to, then I wouldn’t mind.”

“Alright, we’ll take you up on that offer,” Daisy replied to Matt. She then looked over at Sister Maggie while standing up, “Well, I guess we’ll get going now. Thank you for spending some time with my sister and I.”

“Oh it’s nothing,” Sister Maggie replied as she and the others stood up as well. “I’m just glad that I was able to speak to you again. I honestly prayed that nothing bad happened to you after you ran away, and I’m glad to see you’re doing okay now.”

Daisy nodded, “Thank you.”

The trio was walking on the sidewalk with Daisy in the middle, Matt on her right, walking next to the buildings,  and Kora on her left, walking next to the street. They had been walking in silence, save for Matt asking what street they were on so that they could turn on the right ones to get to the firm. It wasn’t an awkward silence though, it was more of a comfortable silence.

Once the trio arrived at the main office inside the building, they noticed a woman sitting at a desk, writing some things down. There was another man, sitting at his desk, looking through a stack of papers.

“Karen,” Matt saidin the woman’s general direction.

“Hey, Matt. Oh, are these new clients?” she asked. Karen got up from the desk and walked over to where the three others were standing.

“No,” he replied. Matt then raised his voice, “Hey Fog, you busy right now?”

The other man got up from his desk and walked out of his office to get to the other four. “Hey, what’s up?” he asked.

“This is one of my…friends?” Matt asked as he looked over in Daisy’s general direction.

Daisy smiled, “I guess you could say we were kind of friends at the orphanage. I mean, we definitely weren’t best friends or anything, but he was like the only kid there who would talk to me without trying to bully me.” It definitely was a little complicated, but how else is one supposed to describe a relationship with someone you would only talk to every once in a while? Especially when both Daisy and Matt were kind of in and out of the orphanage. What with Daisy going to different foster homes every so often, and Matt would leave the orphanage with another man and come back hours later only to stay in his room the rest of the day.

Matt continued, “Daisy’s an old friend from the orphanage, and this is her sister Kora.”

Karen looked at the two sisters, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Karen, and this is Foggy.”

Foggy was looking at Daisy and had his brow furrowed, “You look familiar. We haven’t met before, have we?”

Daisy shook her head, “I’m pretty sure not. I haven’t been in Hell’s Kitchen since I left the orphanage fifteen years ago.” She was really hoping Foggy wasn’t recognizing her Quake image, she was definitely not in the mood for that conversation.

“Huh, well anyways, what brings you two here then,” Foggy asks.

“Just showing my sister the place I grew up in. I wasn’t expecting to run into anyone, really,” Daisy answered.

“You grew up at the orphanage without your sister? Were you separated?”

Daisy tensed and looked over at Kora, who was also staring wide-eyed at her. She then looked back at the three others, “It’s a really long story, but I didn’t know that I had a sister until recently.”

Karen raised her eyebrows, “Really? How many years apart are you?”

Daisy and Kora had never talked about what they would say if anyone tried asking them who was the older sister. It was technically Kora since she was born about thirty-four years before Daisy. Despite this, when Kora was plucked out of her timeline, she was twenty-nine years old, and Daisy is currently thirty-two years old.

“We’re three years apart. She’s older,” Daisy answered with too big a smile while jabbing her thumb towards her sister. It wasn’t really a lie, just an omitted truth.

Karen then asked the sisters, “Do you two have a place to stay the night, or are you leaving today?”

Kora answered, “We were only going to stay for a few hours, then head back upstate.”

“Are you two hungry? We don’t have any appointments with clients for the rest of the day, so we could close the firm a little early today and grab something to eat,” Karen asked.

Daisy and Kora looked at each other, then looked at Karen and answered that they would like to.

They ended up walking to a nearby café. The five had sat down at a round table. Matt was in between Foggy and Daisy, Daisy next to Kora, and Kora next to Karen. After they all ordered, The five were discussing different things about themselves. Daisy then looked over at a man who was sitting at a nearby table, and read the cover of the newspaper he was reading.

“DAREDEVIL STOPS ARMED ROBBERY”

Daisy looked over at the three, “Who’s Daredevil?” Then nodded over at the newspaper she read from, and looked back at the others.

Karen, Matt, and Foggy tensed. After a beat Matt answered, “He’s a vigilante.”

Daisy and Kora looked at each other with an eyebrow raised. Of all the things in the world, Daisy had never expected there to be a vigilante in her hometown. She thought of her time as a vigilante during the months she had defected from S.H.I.E.L.D. How alone she felt, especially while going through the grief of losing Lincoln. Although, her time was only spent trying to take down the Watchdogs to protect fellow inhumans. She wondered if Daredevil had any other motive, or if he really was fighting to protect the innocent. “How long has he been around for?” she asked.

“About five years,” Matt replied.

Foggy then looked at Daisy, “You know, speaking of vigilantes. That reminded me of who I was thinking of. You look like Quake.” He then looked over at Karen, “You remember we were talking about her when she was on the news a couple of years ago?”

Daisy gave a nervous smile, “Oh, really.”

Foggy then faced Daisy, “You’re Quake, aren’t you?” Everyone at the table looked at Daisy, expectantly waiting for her answer.

“Yea, I am. It’s honestly not a big deal. Really,” Daisy had looked down at the table while answering. She then looked up to see their reactions.

“That is so cool!”

“No way!”

“Why am I not surprised?.”

Foggy, Karen, and Matt answered respectively.

“Like I said, it’s really not a big deal,” Daisy replied. She was grateful that the café was busy, and people were lost in their own conversations making anyone overhear them impossible.

Foggy then said, “You look kind of different though. Well, I guess it’s the longer blonde hair.”

Daisy flushed, “I was kind of going through an emo phase when the press first started calling me Quake.”

Matt then asked, “So you worked for S.H.I.E.L.D?”

“Yea, and I still do. I guess since you know about me now, I could say that S.H.I.E.L.D. was the one who brought me to the orphanage from China to protect me. I, of course, didn’t find out about this until about six years ago. I first joined S.H.I.E.L.D. six years ago, and during the year before finding that out, I had already felt like they were my family,” Daisy told the others.

Kora then spoke up, “I barely met my sister and joined S.H.I.E.L.D about a month ago, so I don’t have any embarrassing stories to tell about her. Only that apparently the press was the first ones who started calling her Quake, and that she absolutely hated it because it sounded so ridiculous.” The others laughed.

“Hey, didn’t the same thing kind of happen with Daredevil?” Foggy had turned to Matt.

“Yea, kind of,” Matt replied. He then turned over to Daisy and Kora, “And you two don’t worry about us saying anything about you working for S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s client confidentiality.”

“Thank you,” they replied.

It was the late afternoon by the time the group had finished up at the café, and they were now standing outside the place.

“I guess we’d better go now. I’m sure Piper is tired of waiting for us in the quinjet,” Daisy told her sister.

Karen said to them, “Aw, you two are leaving already? You can stay over at my place for the night, if you’d like.”

Daisy looked at her with a smile, “I honestly would love to, but our friend is waiting for us with an aircraft to take us back to the base.”

Kora nudged her sister, “Hey, I could just go back with Piper and we could come back to pick you up tomorrow, or whenever you want.”

“I don’t even have a change of clothes, or my suit and gauntlets, or my phone charger and other essentials-”

“You can borrow some of my clothes, and I have some extra stuff you can have,” Karen interrupted.

Daisy turned to ask her sister, “Are you sure about this?” She surprisingly did want to stay, but she didn’t want her sister to feel left out for offering to leave her there.

“It’s fine, really. Anyways, we didn’t even know about each other like a month ago. I’m sure we can spend a day or two apart,” Kora pointed out. She honestly didn’t mind letting her not-so-younger sister spend some time with her old friend and his friends, as long as it would make her happy.

Daisy gave a short nod, “I guess it would be cool if I could stay a little longer.”

“Then it’s settled!” Kora announced. She then turned to Karen and said, “We’ll have to make a stop at the quinjet though, I brought her suit and gauntlets with me and left them onboard.”

You brought them?”

Well, you never know.”

Daisy turned to Karen while taking her phone out, “Here, let’s exchange numbers so that you can send me your address, we’ll meet each other there.”

After they exchanged numbers, and Kora said her goodbyes to the others, and Daisy and her sister started heading towards the quinjet.

Daisy was on her way to meet up with Karen at her place. The sun was starting to set, and she was starting to get hungry again. Once she arrived at the apartment, Karen offered to let her shower first while she made a quick meal. They ate a light dinner, then afterwards as Karen was telling Daisy funny stories she had of her, Matt and Foggy, there was a knock at the door.

Karen went to open the door, to reveal Foggy standing there.

“Can I have an autograph!” he exclaimed to Daisy.

She laughed, “Yea, of course, but only because you’re friends with Matt.” She meant it as a joke, but at the same time it reminded her of the time when she didn’t enjoy being recognized as a hero when all she felt was guilt after failing to save Lincoln. “There you go,” she said as she finished signing the mini poster he had of her. “Did you just buy that?” she asked.

“I plead the fifth,” Foggy quickly said.

Karen and Daisy laughed.

Daisy then realized that Matt hadn’t shown up with Foggy. She then looked back to Foggy, “Wait, is Matt not with you?”

Foggy shook his head, “Nah, he wanted to turn in a little early tonight. Don’t worry though, you’ll see him tomorrow morning.”

“Oh, okay.” That’s weird, it’s not even that late yet.

Foggy ended up leaving almost an hour after that.

Karen had given Daisy a change of clothes and a flat sheet for the night while her clothes were washing. It was a simple lilac t-shirt, and a white pair of pajama shorts.

Daisy was already laying down on the couch, and she was thinking about sneaking out while Karen slept so that she could try to see if she could run into Daredevil.

When  Karen came back into the living room where Daisy was, she found it funny that Daisy was trying hard to pretend to fall asleep.

“You want to go look for Daredevil, don’t you?” Karen had asked.

Daisy got up, “How did you figure that out?”

“I know that look on your face. You aren’t the first person I’ve come across trying to sneak out, but being a really good actor about it.” Karen smiled. Daisy looked down in slight embarrassment. “If you want to go out, you can. I won’t stop you,” Karen said.

Daisy looked up and smiled, “Thanks.” She then got up, and went to the bathroom to change into her suit and gauntlets. After getting out, she called out to Karen, “I’ll be back in a few hours, don’t wait up for me.”

It had only been about an hour since Daisy had left Karen’s apartment. She was currently walking the streets of Hell’s Kitchen at 11 o’clock at night, trying to find any trouble that would cause Daredevil to show up.

What if I make trouble so that he would show up.

Just as she was about to quake the ground to cause a small earthquake, she noticed three people up ahead entering a warehouse through a side door that looked like it hadn't been in use for years.

Daisy ran up to where they had entered, and tried looking through a window. The window was dirty, so she had a hard time trying to see inside. She noticed that the door was left ajar, and went over to open it.

The door led into an empty office space. Daisy went over to the other side of the office, to go through the door that then led into a hallway.

She walked in the left direction, hoping those men had walked deeper into the warehouse. As she was walking, she did hear other people talking, as if there was some sort of meeting, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.

Once she got to the room where the voices were coming from, she put her ear to the door so that she could hear what the conversation was about. It was still slightly muffled, so she carefully used her vibration powers to amplify the sound waves so that she could hear their voices more clearly.

"Nobody's gonna wanna buy that shit."

"Of course they will."

"It's a crate full of useless junk."

"They don't need to know that."

"Come back when you have something valuable to sell. Like Ethan over here brought fifty pounds of heroin."

Daisy furrowed her brow. Are they seriously arguing about selling things on the black market or something?

Just as she was about to burst in, she heard glass shattering on the other side. Daisy swung the door open, and saw Daredevil starting to take on the group of seven guys in the room.

“Oh. Nice. Got more than what I bargained for,” Daisy said under her breath. She then joined in the fighting, and laughed to herself when she noticed two of the guys closest to her looking baffled that she had appeared out of nowhere as well.

Once the seven men were on the floor in pain, Daisy went over to Daredevil. “Do you wanna like… tie them up and call the cops on them to let them deal with this?” she asked him.

“I guess we could do that. But I’ll call the cops, I know who to ask to actually take care of this,” Daredevil had answered.

“Alright.”

Daisy and Matt were walking in a back alleyway in silence. They had left the men tied up, and waited down the street behind a dumpster until the police arrived. Once they had gotten there, Daisy and Daredevil started walking away from the crime scene., Daisy introduced herself to the man next to her, “I’m Daisy by the way.”

He kept his head facing forward, “Daredevil.”

“I figured,” Daisy replied. She waited a few more seconds to give him a chance to say something before she stopped in her tracks. “Let’s go somewhere where people won’t overhear us,” she suggested. Daisy looked up at a building across the street and pointed up at the roof, “Let’s go up there, yea.”

“That’s fine.”

Daisy used her concussive blasts to jump up onto the roof, while Daredevil waited for her to get onto the roof before he went up the railings of the fire escapes to get to her. Once they both got onto the roof, Daisy went over to stand in front of Daredevil, hands on her hips.

“I know it’s you, Matty boy, you can calm down about me finding out about your super secret identity,” Daisy smiled.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about”

Daisy laughed, “I know it’s you because your vocal chords are giving off the same frequencies, even though you’re trying to deepen your voice.”

“Damn.”

She then hummed, “I’m not gonna tell anyone, you know that I wouldn’t.”

“I know. I’d just rather not have many people knowing,” Matt said.

Daisy nodded, “Yea, I get that. Karen and Foggy know though, don’t they?”

“Yea. Foggy actually found out by accident when he saw me passed out in my living room bloody and beaten up, and I told Karen about a year or so later,” he answered. Matt then stayed silent for a few seconds, “You’re not gonna ask how I do this?”

Gordon’s image flashed in Daisy’s mind, "You know, oddly enough, you're not the only person I've met who can use their other senses to see."

"Really?

"Yea, he was also an inhuman. After he went through terrigenesis, he lost his eyes. Literally. Like he didn't even have eye sockets anymore, it was replaced by pure skin. And then he also gained teleportation powers," Daisy answered.

"I don't know what kind of explanation I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that."

Daisy exhaled a puff of air and smiled in amusement, “Anyways, you wanna finish patrolling?”

“Let’s go.”

The almost black market incident had been the biggest thing that happened that night. Some smaller incidents that had happened included a couple of muggings, some break-ins, and one attempted kidnapping.

By the time Daisy and Karen had made it to the office, Foggy had been the only one who was already there.

Daisy glanced over at Matt’s empty office, “I guess he’s not here yet, huh.”

Karen shook her head, “Nah, he usually comes in a little later. Oh, which reminds me.” Karen walked over to Foggy’s office door that was closed. She knocked on the glass, and Foggy looked up. He waved his hand over, and Karen opened the door. “Hey, just to let you know, in case you act weird when Matt gets here, Daisy already knows about him,” she informed Foggy.

When Daisy had gotten home after her night patrolling with Daredevil, Karen had woken up and asked if she found out about Daredevil’s identity. Daisy relayed everything that had happened that night to her.

Foggy raised his eyebrow and looked over at Daisy, “How did you find out?”

Daisy just smiled, “Daredevil and Matt gave off the same vocal vibrations. Don’t worry though, I won’t say anything to anyone.”

You can sense things like that?!”

“Yea, I’m able to sense every kind of vibration.”

“I don’t know if that’s cool or kinda creepy.”

“Believe me, it’s not fun to deal with. Before I went through this procedure to make the transition easier, I felt the vibrations of everything around me, and I couldn’t stop feeling it. Just think about having a hangover made of bees, that’s what it felt like. Anyways, after having the acupuncture, now I can only feel vibrations of things around me unless I want to. Unless if it’s something super strong, then I can’t stop it until the vibrations stop.”

“Well, at least you don’t get to feel that anymore. I can’t imagine feeling like having a hangover made of bees 24/7.”

Karen walked back over to her own desk, and wrote an address on a sticky note. She handed it out to Daisy, “Here, that’s his address. He should be awake by the time you get there, tell him that I, as one of his best friends and his secretary, am ordering him to take the day off. Foggy and I will be fine here.”

Daisy took the paper and joked, “You’re not trying to get rid of me, are you?”

Karen laughed, “No, I can just imagine how bored you’ll be in about an hour.”

“Thank you.”

Daisy was at Matt's apartment door. She knocked three times, and waited for Matt to open the door or call out for her to open the door. After two minutes, she knocked again, "Matt, it's me. Daisy."

Still no answer.

She took a deep breath in and extended her arm to have her palm hover over the doorknob. She quaked the lock to open without breaking it.

Daisy opened the door only a little and called out again, "Matt, you here?" That's when she heard running water nearby.

Oh, he's probably showering.

She stepped into the hallway that led into the apartment, and closed the door behind her.

I'm sure he won't mind that I kinda broke in.

She walked into the apartment, and went to sit on the couch. After a few seconds, Daisy pulled her phone out to send a quick text to her sister.

Hey, I'm gonna stay here for at least another full day

I'll let you know by tonight when I'm going back to the Lighthouse

She got a text back about four minutes later.

Take as much time as you need!

She smiled.

A few minutes later Daisy heard the water shutting off, and she stood up to wait for Matt to come out to the living room.

Despite the fact he was walking without his cane, his eyes still looked unfocused. He wasn’t looking directly at Daisy, but he was facing in her general direction.

“You’re not using any fancy S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to find my apartment and break in, are you?” Matt joked.

“Nah, I don’t need any of that to look for you, either way, Karen gave me your address and instructed me to tell you that you have the rest of the day off.”

“She said to take the day off?”

“Yup. Let’s go somewhere. I haven’t been in Hell’s Kitchen in like fifteen years, I wanna see what’s changed.”

“Well there’s Daredevil, for one.”

Daisy laughed, “Whatever.”
