The necklace you saved

"Keith just go!" Lance yelled while not facing Keith. "I'm not leaving without that necklace!" Keith yelled back. Lance yelped in pain as a blaster shot his arm, "Just. Go." Lance yelled as he kicked Keith backwards out of the ship. Keith was unwillingly forced away from the ship, he watched as a steel beam fell and blocked his view of Lance. "No! Lance!" Keith screamed as he put his jetpack in full power. However it was useless, the cruiser had started to blow up and the force of a nearby explosion had sent him flying backwards even more. "No..." Keith whispered to himself with a shaky voice. There was no sign of Lance, he was usually a fairly good escape artist but he was nowhere to be found. Months passed and still no sign of Lance. He really was gone. Everyone had seen the explosion, everyone had seen the cruiser with Lance still in it blast into millions of pieces. But no one really believed he was gone, or at least they didn't want to believe. Keith found himself fiddling with the neckline of his shirts since Lance had been gone. He wished that still had that necklace that was lost in the explosion. However, both the necklace and Lance were gone. The necklace was only a simple thing, two rings with a small chain looped through them. One ring belonged to Keith's father, Keith inherited the ring after his dad passed. It was the only physical reminder he had left of his father. The second ring was Krolia's, once she saw her husband's ring dangling from Keith's neck she had gifted the ring to him. As long as he promised to use them when he got married. That necklace had meant the world to him and now it was gone.

"A little too tight there buddy." Hunk ignored the words, he was too preoccupied by the fact his best friend had just appeared after months of no contact and everyone thinking he got blown to pieces. "Never do that again! We missed you too much you dork!" Pidge cried. Hunk and Lance were also crying. Everyone hugged Lance's scrawny and malnourished body tightly. They feared that if they let him go he would disappear again. "Uh, guys! What's going on?" Keith asked as he walked into the bridge in the Castle of Lions. "Keith?" Lance asked as he gently pushed everyone off him. "Yeah?" Keith responded, not really sure who said his name. "Keith!" Lance cheered as he saw Keith, he ran through the small path everyone had made. Keith was almost toppled over by the sheer force of Lance crashing into him and embracing him. "I'm so sorry! I had to keep you alive though. Please understand I did it so you could live!" Lance frantically apologised, but Keith was still frozen. Slowly he came to his senses. "Holy shit! Lance? That's really you?" Keith asked quickly, Lance nodded his head despite the fact he was practically clinging onto Keith as if his life depended on it. Keith wanted to say that the hug was comfortable and gentle but it wasn't. Lance had become so skinny that Keith would be able to see his ribs if Lance lifted his shirt. Lance’s hips dug into Keith's. "I- uh- what. What happened." Keith asked. Lance let go and chuckled an awkward laugh taking a few steps back, he scratched the back of his head as he spoke. "I was uhh… working in a slave camp... I managed to escape just before they were gonna... Ummn, unalive my group." Lance didn't want to see the look on everyone's faces so he changed the subject. "But look!" Lance fiddled with something at his neck. "Ta-da! I got it back! I knew you wanted it so I went back for it." Lance smiled brightly as he held Keith's necklace. Keith froze, "I love you!" Keith ran into Lance and hugged him as tightly as he possibly could. Lance stumbled back a little before holding Keith tightly. "I love you too." Lance chuckled. "No, you don't get it. I fucking love you!" Keith held Lance tighter, he knew the risks of telling Lance how he felt but he had to. Lance risked his life for a necklace, he didn't even know why Keith wanted the necklace back. He just went and got it, it's the things like that. Those kinds of things made Keith fall even harder. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Pidge cheered sarcastically, Lance threw his head back in laughter before holding Keith's chin with his hand and leaning down to kiss him
