A quiet field
“oki- loki, LOKI !”
Loki startled with a gasp, taking in his surroundings. He was in a field, surrounded by water. It was sorta peaceful for a second, he felt free. Until he glanced to the side and saw Willow leaning right over top of him, with a worried look on her face.
“Hey there, you okay?” she let out a relieved sigh at the sight of Loki, aware and awake.
He blankly looked back at her, still trying to process what just happened.
“Hey! Talk to me buddy” willow snapped her fingers in his face, hoping to get a response.
“Will you knock that off !” he rudely slipped her hand away from his face.
“Hey! i’m just trying see if you’re fine, jeez” she rolled her eyes and laid down beside him.
Oh Norns, this lady was really insane. He couldn't believe that she just did that. This lady Willow had just frozen some of “earth's mightiest heroes”, Took him away from his plan and Thanos. Honestly he doesn't know rather to thank her or kill her.
He turned his to the side trying to assess her. Willow was lying on her back, face bathed in sunlight. Even with all that was going on, Loki thought she was quite beautiful. He quickly shed that thought and got back to the real problem.
“Why did you do that, why did you free me? How do you even know who I am?” he asked her skeptically.
“Well loki, I know you heard my life story when I told it to Tony Stank and Steve” she chuckled briefly at the nickname.
Deciding to ignore the mispronunciation of the Man of Irons name, Loki encouraged her to continue explaining.
“Basically I have been to many places, many universes and it seems that in every single one, I'm drawn to you.”
She took a deep breath, still on her back, feeling the stinging of tears in her eyes.
“No matter where I go or what I do, you're there and in my life. It's like you're my missing piece”. Willow tried but failed to hold the tears back as a few slid down her cheek. This was the part she hated the most, explaining why she needed a Loki in her life. And why she always had to leave Loki. Every. Single. Time.
“You make me whole, you’re my missing piece”. She turned to look at Loki, who she had seen in many different forms, and many different places, but they were always just Loki.
They held each other's contact for what seemed like eternity, till Loki broke the spell and sat up.
“That seems lonely '' he sympathized.
“It is”. She sat up as well, soaking in the look of her soulmate.
“I guess you can see now why I did that in the helicarrier, I just want what's best for you” she scooted closer to him, hoping to offer comfort.
“Thank you, but just because I'm free from the avengers, doesn't mean I'm free.”
Willow started to feel the pull at the back of her mind, she knew her time was almost up.
“I know that, but you can make your own path, it doesn't have to be this way”. She sighed. “I have to go now, but I know you can make the right change Loki”.
“Wait! Don't go! Stay! What am I supposed to do now?” Loki panicked, what was she saying, what about the Mad Titan? What about the avengers? The tesseract?.
“I don't know,” she shrugged. “That's up to you to choose your glorious purpose Loki”.
With that WIllow disappeared into thin air, leaving a bright light behind.
Loki shielded his eyes and stood up, looking around from where she sat.
What was he supposed to do now? Maybe something good for once. Maybe a way to redeem himself.
Right, he could do this, Loki would help the avengers fight the Chitauri and Thanos.
Maybe Willow was right, he could choose his own path.
