Setting the scene
"Guh?" He was up suddenly, vision bleary and surrounding unfamiliar. Blinking several times to clear his vision, he realized he was still in his American office, behind the privacy screen.
"Finally," Cathleen groaned from his side. "We slept in," She was hurriedly getting dressed.
"No, no we didn't, did we?"
"Check your phone," Looking towards the device, he found it flooding with messages to wake up. His Court had, of course woken, on time and tried their best to make sure he would too.
"Shit!" Practically leaping from the bed, he was on his feet and getting dressed, "There's a shower on the jet,"
"We have enough spares to change on the flight,"
"Anything we need to do state side?"
"No, PSA researchers are going through the archives, every added timeline is in there, right now we've got nothing for America, but we need to be in the air in two hours if we want to get to Ostania in time," He threw his pajama shorts onto the bed, Cathleen stuffed them into a suitcase as he nearly jumped into a pair of boxers and slacks.
"Here I thought we could have a slow morning," He grumbled, jerking his shirt on and beginning to do the buttons. Cathleen paused her efforts a moment to put a hand under his chin. He met her eyes as she smiled.
"We can sleep on the flight, but we just need to get there in time," A quick peck before she was back to packing and he searched his pockets for his tie. "The girls have most of our stuff,"
"This was just emergency in case we did spend the night here,"
"Lucky Saiko thought of it,"
"Uh huh, shower gels, shampoo?"
"Didn't leave the bag, underwear is in here, spares in case we got dirty having dinner," Cathleen zipped the main portion of the suitcase up before hurriedly trying to make the bed. "Emergency rations for breakfast since Yu knew we'd sleep late," He slid on his waist coat as she pulled out small packets of food.
"Eat in the car,"
"You're driving,"
"I can multitask," Hurriedly doing his buttons up he watched her sit on the bed, "High heels? Honey we're in a rush,"
"I don't have my other shoes on me, I left the sneakers at the Mansion, Kaina grabbed them for me before they left,"
"They on their way to the airport?"
"Taxis arrived an hour ago, they're already halfway to the airport," She stood up and grabbed the suitcase, "Coats?"
"Car, purse and handbag?"
"Glove box, phones and wallet?"
"You forgot yours in the center console, Max showed up before you could sneak out to grab it," His hand disappeared into his blazer as he slid the other arm into the sleeve. From an inner pocket he produced his slim black device, "Mine only leaves a blazer if it's charging at home or moving to another blazer, wallet is in the same pocket never moves unless I'm putting on a new outfit,"
"Anything we're forgetting?" His eyes lifted as he ran through a checklist.
"Car keys," Cathleen snapped her fingers at him before turning to the bedside tables and opening one of the drawers. The metallic jingle reassured him as he rushed to put his socks and shoes on. "You go to the car, once you sit down you'll remember something and that way I can grab it before I get to you," She nodded and hurriedly left the room, suitcase clacking beside her. The door hadn't even swung shut before she called back.
"HAIRBRUSH!" Blackwhip ran from the back of his hand to pick the object up from the floor by the bed. He sat on the bed and tied his shoelaces quickly. When his phone didn't buzz, he made a dead sprint out of the office and slid over the hood of the car. Swinging into the driver's seat, they both clicked their seat belts.
"Always wanted to do that," He grinned before the engine turned to life.
"You are impossible,"
"No getting to the airport in five minutes is impossible," They quickly joined the parkway.
"Well we have," She checked her wrist, "My watch!" Izuku reached into the pocket with his phone, pulling the object out and handing it to her, "How?"
"Took it off you last night before we went to bed, made sure you wouldn't forget it," Eyes scanned the road for pathways as he weaved through the traffic. She grabbed his chin and kissed his cheek.
"I love you,"
"You say that now, wait til we get to the airport," The road cleared and he floored it.
A heavy sigh as he looked around the room. "Everyone except Naomasa and Rentarou, out," The PSA Agents all saluted and left the room. He gave a very small nod to the last one, who responded with a grim look and locked the door behind him. "Now, you're the ones trying for a war correct? Which is why Westalis was unable to make it to the summit yesterday morning?"
"What?"
"I sent every leader a missive, due to some sort of cosmic event your entire country, in your subcontinent has been moved onto my earth, into my Kingdom, you are here because I have allowed it, your continued survival is only happening because of my mercy, I have already spoken to the leader of Westalis and his subordinates and we verified their story that your own envoy interfered with their progress, to the point where they had to return to harbor unable to contact me, or in fact anyone that could've passed the message to me, so I will ask again, are you trying to start a war?" He looked over the rim of his glasses, "And don't lie to me,"
"No," Naomasa sighed at the answer, Izuku rolled his eyes and drew his gun.
BANG
One of the officials recoiled backwards, their chair falling to the ground with a hole in their head. "You, you killed him!"
"Yes and I'm going to kill the rest of you,"
"W-what but, but you,"
"We've already gotten evidence that you have committed and authorized several war crimes, if you agreed to live in harmony we would've been able to draw a line under them and let it be a relic from your previous timeline, that's where my guys went, they're collecting dossiers, files, statements, everything they need, it's enough to condemn you even posthumously, I can kill you now and prove I needed to,"
"Why you,"
BANG
"G-AAH!" The Ostanian Minister clutched his hand, index finger now missing as his hidden gun clattered to the floor. Izuku hummed,
"Nice shot," Rentarou spun his pistol on his finger before holstering it again.
"Thanks, been practicing,"
"On what? Matches?" Naomasa looked at the appendage on the floor.
"Empty cans mostly, some sushi on top of glass bottles,"
"Now that's just a waste of good sushi," Izuku scolded him
"Not if it's expired," Rentarou raised a finger. Naomasa and Izuku thought for a moment before shrugging in agreement.
"Is that what happened to the left overs from football night?" The greenette pondered
"Yeah,"
"You bastard that was gonna be my lunch," Naomasa grumbled. By now the Minister had stopped whimpering and glared at the trio casually conversing without ever looking away from him.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Expect me to beg? To plead? Well I won't,"
"Of course not," Izuku nodded condescendingly, "Declassifying data takes time though," The Minister's face fell in shock as his skin went pale. "And when I say data, I mean everything, codes, co-ordinates, soldiers and secrets, it's all getting dumped onto a publicly accessible forum, it's not advertised, hardly needs to be, what with media personalities following it to share with the public anyway, you get your own corner of the website your list is that long, even Toshinori Yagi only has a page, you're gonna get four!"
"You think you've won, that they'll accept you?"
"You really don't pay attention to the wider world do you?" Izuku huffed lightly, "You've had anti-war protestors since before the merge and since they've heard of me your people are calling to join the Midori Kingdom and do away with the idea of war," The muzzle of his gun pressed against the forehead of a terrified Minister. "They'll celebrate me as a hero for getting rid of you, so long as they don't know how,"
"Y-you would lie t-to them?" Izuku barked out a laugh, Rentarou and Naomasa both tried to keep straight faces, biting their lips.
"God no fucklechuck, I'm going to tell them I had you kneeling, I'm going to explain that I shot you in the back of the head, executing you like the war criminal you are and then I'll share the story of how I did it to every single one of your backers until this land was free from your tyrannical greed,"
"B-but," He began as Izuku walked around him, "Puh-please,"
"That's funny, I thought you weren't going to beg?" The Minister had just enough time to widen his eyes
"N-"
BANG
"Well, that certainly could've gone easier," He muttered, using a handkerchief to clean the blood off his hands. Naomasa cleaned the residue from underneath his nails as Rentarou straightened out his rumpled clothing. Together they left the main building via a side alley and mingled into the crowd.
"Tell me about it," His Right Hand grumbled, impatiently undoing his tie and popping his collar up. "Nearly ripped a hole in my shirt,"
"I think one of them got blood in my eye," The Left Hand blinked lightly before wiping under his eye with a clean finger. "I expected them to panic but Christ,"
"At least now we never have to wonder what a waste management facility smells like," Rentarou joked lightly,
"On that note, do you think we could supply said facilities with more PPE, and maybe some air fresheners? Nobody should suffer through a smell like that," Izuku cleared his nose into the handkerchief, "I swear I could see it,"
"Don't, please, I already feel queasy from it," Naomasa rubbed his chest, "I genuinely thought I was gonna hurl at one point,"
"I don't blame you," The King nodded, they were walking past an orphanage when he felt a pressure on his temple. "Wait," They all stopped, "Do you... feel that?" He looked around the area.
'Where are you intruder?'
There was a small gasp from the orphanage and he looked towards it, "In there," Following his gaze the trio began to walk into the orphanage. "Excuse me," Calling out he was met with silence for a few moments. Then a rather drunken man leant from a doorway
"You, you here to" *hic* "Adopt?"
"I," They all shared a look, "Guess,"
"Who're, are those?"
"My bodyguards," Izuku answered evasively. "I heard your orphanage was looking for candi-,"
"Yeah, yeah come in, take whichever you want," A more concerned look flashed across their faces before they walked into the rundown building. "Come in," They all slowly walked down the hall, taking note of the upkeep. (Or lack complete thereof).
"Shady place," Naomasa muttered,
"Means these kids have had hard lives," Rentarou whispered back,
"When you can, get a hold of Nezu and look into this place," Izuku grunted to them both, "I don't like this at all," His eyes wandered from the staring children to the dirty walls and cracked ceiling. As he looked back to center, his eyes caught a flicker of movement around a corner. Nothing more than a sliver of pink. Izuku watched carefully as a small face partially leant around the corner until a green eye met his and hid away again.
'Ah, I take it you are scared?'
The stifled gasp answered his question.
'There is no need to be afraid I will not hurt you'
Again the eye peered at him, stare wavering slightly. The drunkard hiccuped,
"Oh, you've, spotted-ed-ed, Anya-ah," Izuku was barely able to conceal his contempt for the man, "She, she" *hic* "She, she, she's the smartest k-kid here," Showing the small girl both hands, he crouched and slowly walked towards her.
'Hello, my name is Midoriya Izuku, are you okay?'
A very small nod in response. "What's your name?"
"Anya is Anya," She spoke as he grew closer
"Ah, it's nice to meet you Anya," He sat down, leaning against the wall, "How old are you?"
"Six,"
"I've got two children about your age, would you like to meet them?"
'My son and daughter would love to meet you'
"Yes,"
"Great, then let's get the paperwork,"
"Don't worry about that, just take her already," The drunkard interrupted. Izuku took a brief second to cover his shock before giving a very dark look to the King's Hands, both gave an almost imperceptible nod back.
"Right let's get you settled in quick," Anya wrapped her hand around an offered finger and walked alongside Izuku's measured pace.
Izuku had braved many things in his life. Adversity, an angry mother, threats to his health and life, his angry mother, even more recently a threat that could've wiped out his entire life and everything he's ever known about or cared for. So far the only thing that had ever cowed him was Inko Midoriya and the raspberry popsicle incident. However now, with fifty wives glaring at him. Fifty upset wives, he was rapidly, rapidly beginning to amend that fact. "I am not sorry," Being honest was for the best in the long run. "I felt someone try and enter my mind, Rentarou Naomasa and I went to investigate, we ended up at an orphanage and she was the telepath," Anya Midoriya was currently playing with Eri and Kouta, the two seven-year-olds doing their best to help their younger sibling feel welcomed.
"We aren't mad you adopted another child," Momo sighed,
"If anything we're surprised is took you this long to do it again," Anan noted,
"But," Fuyumi raised a finger, "We are a bit upset you didn't consult us first," Miha nodded before adding,
"There's a lot of paperwork that goes into,"
"Actually," Izuku nervously interrupted, "There isn't much paperwork, or any for that matter,"
"What?" Kazuho blinked, "What do you mean there isn't any paperwork?"
"Well, the guy just, just let the three of us in, said to pick whichever one we wanted and then told us to just take her, the place was made shady so Rentarou and Naomasa are looking into it already, my detective,"
"Yeah?" Makoto paused,
"Your brother has told me to invite you into the investigation, said you'd have the best luck getting information without looking alerting whoever is involved,"
"Since I don't go about blasting my PSA title and everything?" He wilted slightly under her disapproving glare.
"Y-yeah,"
"Fine,"
"Any luck with the school at least?" Yuyu asked,
"Yes actually, we got some information," Visibly brightening at the fact he had other news, it quickly disappeared when he remembered the information they found. "It um, the school can be day or board, a mother and father are required for the student interview that goes alongside the test,"
"There's an interview? What do we have to do them both separately or can we?"
"Unsure, I think we can do them at the same time," He rubbed the back of his head, "But uh, it does mean that I can't do the day off thing I was planning on doing for you all," Shifune rolled her eyes and tapped his cheek.
"Maybe next time we can actually plan our day off?"
"Yeah," Sighing gently he relented, "I suppose that'd make the process easier, I just wanted to surprise you all,"
"And we love you because of that," Aoi smiled softly, "But please if you're going to give us a day off, make sure you can do it too, that way we can all relax together," Danger sense flared in the back of his head,
"Sorry my hypnotist," He mumbled quietly,
"For wha!" She cried as she was suddenly shoved to one side. His body leant the other way and he gripped the forearm that would've gone through his chest.
"I wondered why room service was five minutes early," A hypodermic needle wavered in the air as he held the limb. "Get the kids out of the room," His Court nodded, Eri and Kouta who understood the severity of his instructions complied immediately. Anya, whom was still adjusting was shocked when Shino scooped her up by the armpits and carried her away. His fist tightened causing the hand to drop the needle as it opened in pain. "Who sent you?" Silence, "Not a talker huh? Don't worry, we can change that," Overhaul flared into life, the would be assassin grunted as their sleeve was turned into a miniature version of an Iron Maiden. Blood seeping onto their hand. "You're not gonna die, not yet," His other hand shot into their mouth, Permeation passing through the closed lips and grit teeth. Delicately his fingertips grabbed the small cyanide pill about to be crushed. "Open," Eyes glared at him, "Open before I pull my hand out and bring your teeth with it," Their jaw lowered and Izuku slowly pulled the small tablet out. Crushing it in his hand, he threw the powder into the carpet. The hand gripping their arm moved, launching them against the wall. Adjusting his slacks, he crouched by their slumped body and gripped the lower chin, making them face him. "Now, you're probably about to say, you're gonna kill me even if I do talk, so just hurry up and kill me, and you're absolutely right, once you've told me what I want to know, I am going to kill you, however you got two options, number one you tell me everything here and now, I'll make your death quick, relatively painless, or you can stay silent and broody, which means that once I start, even if you tell me everything in a couple minutes, I will not stop hurting you until the process is finished and you die, now let me reinforce this to you, if you do not start talking, I will start torturing you, once it gets to much and you crack, you're gonna start talking, however I will not stop torturing you, even when you've told me every clearance code, ID number, password, agent, even the name of the office janitor, I will not stop, until I am out of ideas, do you understand that? You are facing torture that will continue long after you are broken, long after you start welcoming death, if you don't talk right now, and the only, the only way to get out is to start talking right now, okay? There is not take backs, no changing your mind, you either get tortured to death or you talk and die painlessly, is that clear? Because if it's not I can explain again," There was silence for a moment. The assassin hollowed their cheeks, "Ah, thank you," He grabbed their face in a tight grip, watching the alarm in their face. "I'm going to assume that from the fact you were about to spit in my face, you chose to hold your secrets a little while longer, no matter, it just means one more thing to regret before the end,"
"Hello," He waved a hand gently, "You must be the Thorn Princess right?" It was microscopic, hardly even a second, but it was a flinch. Izuku smiled warmly.
"I am not here to make chit chat with a traitor to the country,"
"Traitor? Honey I'm your King," He put a hand to his chest, "Of course I have to find those pesky little cells that demand war for profit," A golden stiletto type weapon flew across the room, caught neatly in his hand at the tip of his nose. "Nice shot," He mused lightly, "I must say I do like the halter style dress, very form fitting, and the golden rose motif? Either it was inspired by your code name, or the inspiration for your code name, right Yor?" That got her to pause for several seconds. Then she was charging across the room with her other stilettos in hand. Throwing the one he held to the floor Izuku watched her charge forwards. The metal slid against his uniform, surprising Yor as her face crashed into his chest. "Wow, straight for the coronary arteries, you didn't want to give me a chance did you?" One arm wrapped around her body, pinning her against him. "If you must know, my suit is almost everything proof, from an incident a few years back, recently had it lined with Vibranium too, I tell ya even a grenade on my chest doesn't do much, well, my hair gets all sooty but eh, what can you do?"
"Y-you,"
"Nettle Prince squealed, two of my best men are already getting the 'shopkeeper' hell they should've gotten him just after he hung up the phone," Grinning down to her, he raised an eyebrow, "Your other friends are either dead or arrested," There was a brief pause, "We already have all the files from Garden, you got a lot of kills under your belt Miss Briar, quite the reputation," Suddenly he released her from his hold, walking away. "You started this at a very young age, so young in fact that by now you've developed a coping mechanism similar to, in fact worryingly close to Depersonalisation Disorder, where you disconnect from yourself from your emotions, from your thoughts, tell me, how do you... come out of this, this," A hand wave, "Let's call it, work mode, how do you disengage this state of mind?" He turned on his heel to face her again, she remained stood where he'd caught her, eyes shadowed as she glared to the floor near him.
"Who are you?"
"I am King Izuku Midoriya the First, of the World, due to events that can only be described as cosmic, your country, your neighboring country and several other cities, populations, islands and more have been transplanted onto my world, into my Kingdom, where you all now obey me," His arms spread as he shrugged "You can like it or you can lump it Briar, but where was I?... Oh yes, you've been doing this for a long time, from a very young age, yadda yadda, second chance! That's the bitch, I want to give you a second chance,"
"A second?"
"Yes," He smiled, taking slow paces back towards her, "You see I don't know if you regret killing those people, to be honest it doesn't matter right now, all that matters is that you can leave Garden,"
"L-leave... Garden?"
"Uh-huh, your friends are all getting the same offer from PSA reps, along with back up if they decide to fight, you see once Ostania fully accepts my ruling, which ninety-four point seven percent already do, there will be no need for the Garden, unless you want to be a clandestine crime fighting organization, in which case you will all need licenses issued and that involves tests and studying and since you haven't been in school since you were thirteen I'm guessing there's a lot for you to catch up on," Looking out the window, he sighed, "When I first read your file, I felt sorry for you, having to do such a dark job at a young age to support your brother, I realized you were an exceptional woman, a brilliant fighter that proves hard work goes beyond raw talent, that skill isn't inherent and must be refined, then I saw your picture and I realized I had to have you," Turning back to her, he smiled with a possessive glint in his eyes. "I realized that you are too brilliant, that I could not let you slip through my fingers,"
"I, I,"
"Yor Briar, you have three options ahead of you, one you can walk out that door, acknowledge that I have given you a chance and you have refused it, I will let you leave but know the next time we meet we will be enemies, or you can remain here, sit with me, talk, accept my proposal and live the life you want rather than the life you need to," Her eyes widened.
"A-and the third?"
"You can join me, become one of my Queens, the very Queen that would look after both Ostania and Westalis once the dust settles from the additions to my Kingdom," Smiling gently, he cupped her chin with a soft hand. "You see Yor, you are an exceptional woman, and you've caught my attention, ask my wives, they will tell you, once you have my attention I never give up,"
"Wives?"
"Fifty," He smirked lightly, "Of course we'll wait until after I've... educated the newcomers to my Kingdom, for the ceremony, but for all intents and purposes you will be one of my wives in full capacity, living with me, sharing a bed, helping me raise the Prince and Princesses, I think I'd call you my....Hidden Queen, my assassin, yes yes I like the sound of that,"
"B-but,"
"You're not the first of my Queens to try and kill me, hell you're not even the second.... or third," He mused lightly, "Hang on," Looking to his hand he counted on his fingers, "Kaina, Kiruka, I think Cathleen counts, Himiko didn't try to kill me, Katsumi.... jury's out, Chitose, no, either way," His head shook, "You aren't the first, trust me, and if it means anything then our time together will be very depraved,"
"You, you womanizer!"
"I have been called that," He admitted quietly, hand catching her wrist as she moved to slap him, "However my wives all know of each other, all love each other, are all married to each other, you see my Court exists because of me yes, however they do not need me to make them all happy, they make each other very happy," Never had he spoken a truer fact. His Court was practically self-sustaining at this point. It only really needed him for cooking and snuggling.
Oh and his penis, obviously.
Yor blushed brightly as he raised an eyebrow to her. "A deal then?"
"What?"
"I will show you my Court, you can meet my Queens and see how I treat them, if you think I am a womanizer after that then I will stop pursuing you, you will be free to live with your new lease on life without me ever coming after you again, sound fair?"
"You'll leave me alone?"
"I'll be less than a memory," The Thorn Princess looked up to him, running her tongue over her teeth.
"One chance," She agreed carefully, "And that's all you get,"
"It's all I need,"
He was honestly surprised that nothing alarming occurred yet, it set off alarm bells in the back of his head that things were going to go wrong. His Queens all assured him it was just some paranoia and anxiety. Still he couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get very stressful, very fast. Yor squeezed his hand reassuringly as they walked in step. Kouta, Eri and Anya all walked ahead with heads held high. Kota adjusted his collar, unhappy to be wearing a tie. His school uniform wouldn't have the tie, something he liked about it already. Eri and Anya were both dressed in their best outfits, some type of dress if he wasn't mistaken. (A few blocks away the crowd startled as some fifty women all facepalmed in synchrony). Izuku noted the statue of a man stood at the school's entrance. "Hey kids," He called out gently, the three all turned to look back at him. "Do you guys know who that is?" He flicked his chin to the statute of the man.
"Ooh, ooh, I know!" Eri lifted her hand, "That's the schools finder, the one that made it,"
"Oh, he's the founder?" Izuku rubbed his chin as he regarded the statue, "Must've been a damn good academic to open up a prestigious school like this," Quickly the greenette gave a military salute to the statue. Kota clicked his heels together and followed suit. Yor startled before putting her hand over her heart. Eri looked between the two before saluting like her brother. Anya gasped and looked up at the statue trying to match her siblings, but when she accidentally slapped her fingers to her temple, she hurriedly copied Yor's example. Izuku gave another nod and they all moved on. The five of them were already aware that the exam began the moment they stepped into the grounds. He could feel several eyes already staring at him from all sides. Izuku used one hand to adjust his tie as they walked.
"Pops," Kota turned to him, "Look, some kid got stuck in the gutter," Looking over he saw a rather rotund boy had in fact fallen into the gutter and was futilely trying to unstuck himself. "We gotta help him,"
"And by we, you mean me," Izuku sighed, "Alright, everybody take a pace back, I don't want you guys getting muddy," He gently walked over to the kid, gripping one of his flailing arms. "And, up," Swinging the boy up and over his head, the King deposited the boy on the ground with a soft whump. "There we are, go get cleaned up kid, they won't take kindly if you track mud in the halls," He wagged a finger "And watch where you put your feet next time,"
"Yes sir, thank you!"
"Pops, you're all muddy," Kota gestured to the front of his cape, small smatterings of brown mud marring it.
"Oh, so I am," Izuku hummed, "Well I can solve that," His outfit shifted, going from General to Mobster. The cape swirled around Caliburn into an umbrella, which he quickly cleaned off under the outdoor tap. Drying it quickly he hummed. "Problem solved, though I am glad to get out of that cape," Tucking his umbrella under one arm, he rolled his sleeves neatly up to his elbows. "Much cooler, thanks for giving me an excuse to change kid," With a final nod the family departed continuing into the school. it was several moments until they heard the crying of a crowd. Izuku was back into his General outfit with Caliburn at the ready, eyes scanning the crowd for danger.
"There!" Eri cried, pointing to a large herd of charging farm animals. A small boy had fallen over one hand reaching out,
"Father," He pleaded with the crowd surging from his prone form. Izuku had flashbacks to the UA exam and darted over to the child, scooping him up and leaping away. Once they were away from the herd, he set the boy down.
"There we go sunshine, run along to your father now," He stood up straight as his family ran over.
"Izuku, something's wrong with Anya," Yor called, the pinkette in her arms looking very dizzy and unwell. Izuku quickly took her into his own arms, resting her against his hip.
"What's wrong Anya?"
"BULL!" Eri called out everyone looked in alarm. Izuku grit his teeth, with Anya in his arm he couldn't reach Cali-
THUDD
Yor landed in a low stance, index and middle fingers pointed on each hand. Izuku and his children watched with muted awe as she quickly got to her feet, trying to stammer excuses. Laughing her off lightly, he waved a hand. "Honey you've ripped your tights," She gasped and waved her hands slightly, "I got it," A quick touch of Overhaul had them looking brand new. "See? Easy peasy, now are you feeling any better Anya?"
"Y-yeah," She nodded as he let her onto the floor. Belatedly he realized she was wobbling over to the bull as they all watched it tremble. Thanks to Yor's display the stampede had stopped but the animals continued to gaze at the sight. Izuku was about to go over to try and protect her when Anya knelt gently running her hand up and down the Bull's snout. "Everything will be okay," Her voice soothed the beast softly, "Don't be scared," Fascinated, Izuku watched as the animal got to its feet and regarded his newest daughter. "You're okay Mister Bull, I promise," Anya once again began to pet it for a few moments. It let out a low moo before bowing its head deeply. Upon lifting its head it turned back around and moved towards the other animals, which had all calmed down by this point. "Bye-bye," Anya waved before she toddled over to her family.
"That," The King began, "That was very brave Anya, and very kind of you, now c'mon, you guys have an exam to take," Kota let out the smallest groan. The trio hugged him and Yor before the five divided into two parties. Izuku and Yor moved to the observation room as Anya, Eri and Kota all took their seats for the exam. Yor reached into her handbag to pull out a small novel and begin reading. He sighed to himself, put his phone on vibrate and pulled a fountain pen from his breast pocket. Reaching inside his jacket he pulled out a manila opening it to retrieve the documents. The test was only an hour and a half long but work never stopped for the King.
As much as he wished it would, he wasn't that lucky.
Once the exam was finished all students would take part in the family interview. Fortunately because the three of them were entering at the same time, Kota, Eri and Anya could all do it together. The three of them were sitting together on the sofa as Izuku and Yor sat in chairs opposite the interviewers. "Three all the same age? I must say it's a first to not see triplets mister," The first began, he was a well aged man, grey hair styled neatly with square glasses over a friendly face.
"Midoriya," Izuku smiled, "Izuku Midoriya, the first of my name,"
"Ah, literally a first," He joked, "I myself was named after my own grandfather, on my mother's side, Walter Jenkins,"
"So you are Mister Walter Evans, the housemaster of... Malcolm Hall dormitory right? Your reputation precedes you sir, I've read several stories from alumni, how many of them came to see you as a surrogate uncle from your kindly nature,"
"Oh, well I am touched, I do believe that kindness is the best motivator for children, now you've probably already identified the men beside me, but we have Mister Murdoch Swan, housemaster for Cline Hall and beyond him is Henry Henderson, housemaster of Cecil Hall," Izuku gave them both a small nod, "Now we have your children's exams here and while we can't disclose the scores just yet, I must say they are very impressive,"
"Good, I do my best to make them, excited to learn, I understand you are all teachers as well?"
"Yes, I teach English, Mister Swan handles Economics and Mister Henderson handles history,"
"Ah wonderful, if my children are to be attending this school it is good to know they are in capable hands, Eden Academy has a wonderful reputation but even the best ships sink if the crew are subpar,"
"Yes now, are we to understand that Missus Midoriya is not the children's biological mother?"
"None of my wives are," Speaking offhandedly, he leant back slightly, "You see my children are all adopted, Kota was first, I discovered that he watched his parents die on television when he was only five, after I married the relative caring for him, he legally became my child but he was my son long before that, Eri was second, she doesn't remember her birth parents and her carers abused her until law enforcement rescued her, I was involved in the case and saw how badly she had been mistreated, fast forward a few days as she is my first daughter, Anya is the most recent, I found her playing in dirty clothes outside a rundown building, to my horror I discovered it was an orphanage, the one she had been given to by people that didn't care for her, I got her out of there as soon as I could and added her information to the application I submitted,"
"Ah, um, if I may, wives? You have had multiple spouses?"
"Have, no past participle, I am married to multiple women, fifty to be exact, Yor is my fifty-second fiance, though she has only met my children, already she has gone above and beyond for them all and in truth it is how she has wormed her way into my heart and the hearts of my wives," Ignoring the shock the faces before him, he casually lifted one leg over the other. Evans recovered himself,
"And um, if you had to, could you describe the strengths and weaknesses of your children?"
"Kota is headstrong, detrimentally so, when our house was attacked and I myself temporarily rendered out of action, he charged in to fight the attacker himself, even with his limited training, he is a brave boy, but he is aware of his limits, if he knows he can help he will, if he thinks he can he does, though fighting comes naturally to him, he does not use it as a first resort, he is kind but not blindly, if he suspects someone is trying to take advantage he will work to confirm or disprove his suspicions, Eri, Eri is smart, very, very smart, smarter than I was at her age, in fact she understands long division, which terrified me until I was ten, I must confess, she has brilliant aim and can take the rubber of the end of a pencil from across the room, however she often overestimates her physical strength, burning her stamina in the first few minutes pushing herself to hard, her mind is willing but the body is still growing, Anya, she is tricky, though playful she exhibits a side that is, well if I may rather chilling, it is almost as if she can read our minds at some points," He chuckled, "But that is children for you, especially one as energetic as she, though she has a hard time remaining in one place, should you capture her attention, you will keep it for hours on end,"
"Miss," Murdoch
"Briar," She finished for him, getting a perverse grin that set Izuku's fuse off.
"Miss Briar," The slimeball repeated, "You are a very beautiful woman, what would convince you to marry a man with three children already? And fifty other wives?" The last part was grumbled. His colleagues looked at him in shock, Henderson muttering something about 'uncouth'
"I'll admit I was hesitant at first, I thought of Izuku as a womanizer, however after we spoke I decided to give him a chance and find if his feelings were earnest, I've spent the last few days living with their family and it is a wondrous sight, when I leave my bedroom for the day I can find him already up and cooking breakfast, he makes sure everyone else has food before he sits to join us at the table, every time he looks to any of his wives it is impossible not to see the adoration he has for each and every one of them, he was fortunate enough to get holiday while looking for a school that accepts the children, so he will often sit at his laptop doing research through the day, sometimes he will surprise his wives with a cooked lunch, or he will take a walk and come home with flowers for each of them, even for me," Hiding her face lightly as she blushed Yor continued, "From what I have witnessed he makes time for the children, playing catch with Kota or letting Eri braid his hair, Anya will sit near him at the table, regularly showing him her artwork to awed praise, he helped them all study for their exam, patiently answering every question he could, he evenly recently flew his own parents in from..."
"Japan," Izuku substituted,"
"From Japan to meet Anya and catch up with them all, from what I learned from his mother, Inko, he always tried to have them over for dinner once a month, and seeing their grandchildren as many weekends as he could, Izuku is a young father, only twenty years old, but he acts with the experience of men triple his age with an air of grace that hardly any have,"
"So you don't cook?" Swan interrupted, Izuku felt his finger twitch in anger "Moreover, you?" He turned to Izuku, who fought to keep the snarl off his face, "Are married to fifty women and not one of them can be bothered to do the cooking even though you work full time? They should be working harder to set,"
"Do not insult my wives," He interrupted coolly, "Nor my fiance Mister Swan, you'll find they all have different strengths and weaknesses, Yor has somehow managed to keep the house spotless on her lonesome and within my fifty wives, twelve are educators back in Japan, seven are intellectuals that advance fields of mechanics and science, seven are gardeners that grow our own fresh fruit and vegetables in the garden for me to cook, ten of them are artists in various fields be it music or visual and a further seven help train my children to defend themselves, all fifty of them work together to help the kids when I am in the office and I choose to cook meals, in fact should you ask any of my wives, I have previously barred them from the kitchen, I am happy to work I enjoy it even, because it means I can allow my wives to enjoy life how they want to and their happiness, along with the happiness of my children is of upmost importance to me," Swan was paused for a moment, allowing Evans to recapture the interview
"So, we've heard from the parents, now how about the children? Can you tell us your names and address please?"
"My name is Kota Izumi-Midoriya, son of Izuku Midoriya, I live in the King's Compound, Mustuafu, the Shizuoka prefecture of Japan," Kota nodded steeply,
"I am Eri Midoriya, daughter of Izuku Midoriya, I live with my family at the King's Compound in Musutafu in the Shizuoka prefecture in the region of Japan,"
"I'm Anya Midora, daughter of Izuk Midoriya, I live with my papa and mamas in Berlint West forty-nine summer avenue,"
"And what do the three of you like to do when you're not in school?"
"I like to sword fight," Kota grinned, "Ever since we were attacked at home Pops insisted we learn to protect ourselves and I love fencing," He shrugged, "Mom-Yuyu also taught me how to play to oco rhino?"
"Ocarina," Izuku patiently corrected,
"Yeah the ocarina, it's super hard but super fun too,"
"And Eri?"
"I like to dance, sometimes Papa lets me stand on his feet to dance with him!" She giggled lightly, "Papa always puts on music for me to dance to, he said that when I turn ten I can do ballet! Mom-Momo also takes me to the Opera which was boring at first but I love the music!"
"Anya?"
"I, I like to draw," Anya looked down lamely, "I'm not very good right now, but Mom-Komari and Mom-Reiko teach me together, Papa puts all my work on the walls too, Mom-Saiko took me to see a play and it was very funny, plus Grandma Inko wants to teach me how to cook when I'm older, I don't know if big bro Kota or big sis Eri are though,"
"Uh for sure, Grandma Inko lets us help make popcorn," Kota nodded
"Alright, and if I could ask what your father does for a living?"
"Unimportant, it is enough to support them and cover their tuition fees, that is all they need to know," Izuku answered as Kota presumably went to say "he's King"
"Okay," Evans looked startled but nodded anyway, "And if you could each score your parents, what would you give them?"
"Perfect," Kota nodded, "Pops does his best for us and I wanna do my best for him, he says he's proud of me for trying but I wanna make him proud by succeeding,"
"Yeah, Papa and Mamas are amazing, whenever I'm scared they all comfort me and when I get sick they all support me," Eri agreed with her brother, "Papa likes to say trying it what matters so I always try my hardest,"
"One-hundred points," Anya stated, "They're lots of fun and I love them, I wanna be with them for ever,"
"So who do you like better?" Swan began smugly, "Your father or one of your mothers?"
"Swan that is," Evans began, "That question is not-,"
"So what? We interviewers are allowed to improvise a little, right?"
"I respectfully request a different question," Izuku interjected, a dark look falling over his face
"No, answer or I'll mark you accordingly," Swan smirked victoriously,
"Ch-choose?" Anya whimpered lightly, Yor was up out of her seat comforting the distressed children,
"I-I don't wanna choose," Kota wiped his eyes with the heel of his hand, Eri just clutched her blouse in both fists. Swan blew a raspberry,
"Our dorms are full of children living away from their parents, this is no place for children who burst into tears over every little thing," Izuku closed his eyes letting out a deep breath
"Every...little...thing?" Yor purred darkly as her fingers began to twitch.
"What's your problem fifty-second? It's not my fault you're la-,"
SHLINK
The room froze as Swan's mustache began falling, revealing his upper lip.
"Watch yourself Swan," Izuku growled as he held the tip of Caliburn under the man's chin, pressing against his adam's apple. "You have made my children cry, if you were anyone else you'd already be dead,"
"Th-threatening me? I,"
"You'll what?" Izuku spat fire in his eyes, "I am King of the World you miserable little bacterium, your country has been displaced into my world, my Kingdom, your government has already learned to bow to me and in time so will you, if you live that long, now you might be a divorcee with no allowance to see your child but so help me you continue to spew toxic filth and you won't even have a stump to write a case, let a lone a tongue to argue one!" He watched a bead of sweat drip down the side of Swan's face. "I could kill you and have your family thank me for it, you hold no power nor sway over me filth, watch your next words carefully as they may be your last," He sheathed Caliburn, "Come on guys, we're leaving, it's not to late to apply elsewhere,"
"W-what?" Henderson spoke for the first time, Izuku looked over his shoulder as he ushered Yor and his children out of the room. The look in his eye was so cold that the sweat on Swan's fat chin froze.
"If belittling children is part of Eden's educational philosophy now, then I have chosen the wrong school," His foot was just out of the door when Swan found his voice again,
"How dare you disgrace the name of- urk!" Izuku's fingers closed around his throat and began squeezing tightly. He watched the man's eyes bulge.
"You disgrace the name of educators with your mere presence in any school, you insult the term 'sir' you fat pig, now I will repeat it to get it through your clogged ears, I do not fear you, I do not fear your connections, as it stands I am having my men investigate the school for this farce of an interview, your friends are about to lose all their power and it will be all your fault Swan, so climb down from the rafters before I hang you from them, and I mean that literally," Once his face had gone blue Izuku let him drop, into the table cracking it clean in half. "Now as I said I believe currently Eden is unfit to educate the Prince and Princesses of the Midori Kingdom, so I will simply find one more acceptable, good day Mister Henderson, Mister Evens a pleasure to have met you," Turning on his heel the King of the World marched out of the room, leaving two men staring in shock and another quaking in the splinters of a coffee table.
