Chapter 7
Meanwhile, Wanda enters her fathers old office. Steve is studying the autopsy report that Tony stole from the coroner. We see the evidence of Howard Stark lying dead on his bed, clasped peacefully across his chest. “It’s time, if you wanted to, you know. Get changed” Wanda says as Steve looks at Wanda. “You do realise I can’t just by a suit off the rack right?” He says but then saw Wanda expression as he sighs. “Are you mad at me?” He asked as Wanda crosses her arms. “Am i mad? Do you even know how messed ik that was there? You can’t just drop a bomb like that saying “hey I think one of you might of killed our father” and just leave it like that” she says trying her best not to shout.
Steve was taken back by Wanda’s anger. “I didn’t..” but got cut off by Wanda again. “That’s exactly what you did.” Steve looks down at his fingers trying to calm down then looks back at Wanda. “I’m just saying, look how we turned out Peter, insecure wreck and Tony ‘roof rage poster boy!’ Loki is barely keeping it together-“ but then Wanda cuts in again. “What about Wanda? ‘Tabloid disaster?’ ‘World’s worst mom?’” Wanda says angrily as Steve shakes his head saying “I didn’t say that..-“ but then again Wanda cuts him off. “You gonna blame dad for the way I turned out? Or what about Stephen? He just showed up, maybe you wanna go and accuse him of murder!” Wanda shouts as Steve has had enough.
“Yeah and he just happens to show up today! That doesn’t seem like a hell of a coincidence to you!” Steve shoots back at Wanda as she just shakes her head, disgusted. “Dad’s not the victim here Steve, we were. We all got screwed over. That doesn’t mean we have a motive!” As she leans closer to Steve. “Why are you doing this? What, like all of a sudden we’re going to break out the spandex again? Maybe go beat the shit out some criminals?!” She shouts at him as Steve glares at her and says “you think that’s what this is about? The academy?” As he angrily brushes past Wanda. But Wanda wasn’t haven’t anything of it as she follows Steve.
“Then what?! Why do you even care!” She shouts at him and this is where Steve has had enough. Turning around as he quickly punches the wall, almost breaking it then looking at Wanda. “Because he sent me up there! He said “watch for threats number one.” He said “no one else can do this but you.” And i trusted him! Four years by myself staring at a bunch of goddamn rocks! And every single morning I had to tell myself. ‘Don’t worry dad must have had his reasons. One day it would all make sense’ and it was nothing.” Wanda looks at Steve sadly as she reaches out to touch his arm but Steve slaps it away still annoyed. “You wanna talk motive how’s that for getting ‘screwed over’ come on we have a funeral to go to” he says as he storms away as Wanda stares at him, unhappy.
