Prologue (3)
[4:36 AM, March 16, 2023]
Ohhh this bitch…
Mike had to fight the sudden urge to brawl with this woman (apparently named “Vanessa” from her name tag). She wasn’t as old as him, probably in her early-to-mid 20’s, sporting a blonde high ponytail and a standard security uniform that seemed cleaner than any of the uniforms from Freddy’s. Unfortunately, they would probably have to work with her to get any answers about where they are.
“Who are you all and why are you trespassing? Also, why are you cosplaying?”
Scott pushed forward, “Uhh we’re not? The cosplay part anyways. If you could take us to the security room it would be easier to explain our predicament.”
“Why should I? For all I know you could try to erase the footage of your break-in. Also-” Vanessa pointed to Jeremy holding the Roomba, “put that away.”
“But I just named him Lemon…” Jeremy pouted.
“Look we would rather not be here if we could, but we can’t leave without knowing where we are. Besides having us in the security room would box us in from escaping anyways.” Mike glared at Vanessa, challenging her to retort.
Vanessa analyzed the mysterious group more. There was no doubt something off about them, especially the one in the back being nearly completely purple. It could be makeup, but it seemed too convenient to write off, felt too familiar to someone… She would have to put her pride away to learn more about them. “Fine. I’ll lead you all to the security room.” She begrudgingly began ascending back up the stairs to the security room.
The guys merely shrugged and began following the woman, with Mike leveling a side eye at Jeremy silently asking why do you still have it? Jeremy shrugged like it wasn’t important (for now at least). Mike just gave a small huff to hide a smile and continued walking.
[4:48 AM, March 16, 2023]
“Well here we are, I assume you want to show me some footage from a few hours ago?”
“Something like that, just need to find the right camera.” Vincent walked up to the table only to be overwhelmed by all the different monitors with separate camera angles and rooms labeled. Freddy’s only had a single tablet with 10 or so cameras to watch, only having one angle that would move around slowly.
“…I have no idea what room we need there is waaay too much going on.”
“Can you describe it? I should be able to find it.” Vanessa shoved Vincent away from the console and moved the mouse.
“It was underground. We were by a platform that raised onto a big stage near the center.”
“Ah, that’s by the underground maintenance room. Just a minute.” Vanessa clicked around until she found the camera needed. “How far do I need to rewind?”
“Just keep going until you see a blue light or something.”
Vanessa gave a quizzical glance before rewinding the footage at double speed. The blue light came quicker than expected as she paused from confusion. A GIANT TEAR dropped them onto the floor out cold before disappearing. The footage was scuffed with no audio but there was no denying that something blue and blinding came through the Pizzaplex. “What the hell…?”
Fritz in sudden realization walked up beside her with worry. “Vanessa, what year is it?”
“It’s March 16th, 2023.”
And the world stood still as the room froze.
