Chapter 2
"What are you doing here?" The Devil demanded, not giving Ghost a few seconds to breathe.
"Looking for a friend. Won't be long." He grunted, shuffling away but the Devil followed for every inch he moved.
"Red, back off." A gruff voice sounded.
The Devil turned his attention to Frank, who was now on the ground and standing off to the side between them. His jaw tightened.
"I told you, you're on thin fucking ice Frank. Now there's another murderous vigilante in my city!" He complained.
"Not this one. He's military." Frank ignored the Devil and looked Ghost up and down.
"You've seen better days." He remarked.
"Bloody hell." Ghost rolled his eyes.
He finally had an opportunity to stand, his back having hit a container. He pulled himself up and stood at full height, towering over both men easily.
The Devil tensed, looking up at (his chest?) him.
"Red, this is Ghost. Been in spec-ops for fucking ages. Surprised you're not dead yet." Frank assessed him.
He glared at the man before turning away. This was all bullshit, he had more important matters than becoming acquainted with the fucking Punisher and the Devil.
"Lieutenant."
He stopped and looked back at Castle. The Devil was currently trying not to gag over the dead body.
"I think we have a common enemy." Frank started.
"Give me what you have and I'll take care of it." Ghost faced Castle, intrigued.
"No, they have something of mine."
"Whatever it is, you can get it after I'm gone."
Frank's eyes narrowed. He seemed to be mulling something over before he spoke again.
"They have a kid. She wasn't supposed to be part of this, I need to get her back."
Frank and his bleeding heart. Reminded him of Price sometimes.
"You're gonna get them and yourself killed if you do this alone. 'S why I have Red… Jesus Christ get away from the body if it's making you that sick!" He snapped at the Devil who was trying to keep his composure and listen.
"I'm not helping you." Ghost said through gritted teeth.
"Well this isn't your turf, it's ou- mine." The Devil finally spoke up, sizing up Ghost.
"You want your friend back, Frank needs his kid, and I need both of you out of my city. Grow a pair or get the fuck out." He trotted up to Ghost, standing almost chest to chest with him.
"Told you he was more of a pussy than you, Red. Would rather be killed than get the job done right." Frank laughed.
Ghost stood stiffly. He didn't want to work with anyone else at all, but the thought of Johnny and a kid dying because he was too stuck up to ask for help had a grip on his mind. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if something so easily prevented happened.
He flexed his hand for a minute before looking between the two men and reaching a decision.
"Fine, we'll work together."
