AN: I do not own Agents of SHIELD

Bobbi stormed into Coulson’s office where Gonzales was conferring with Agent Weaver.

Gonzales looked up at her.

“So apparently Agent Skye is more dangerous than you give her credit for her.  Agent Calderon was gravely wounded and-“

“He went there with the purpose of killing her!  I had tactical command, and I ordered ICERs only, he went in with his sidearm.”  Bobbi interrupted.

“Barbara-“  Gonzales started, holding his hand up.

“No!  I was there!” She snarled.  “He never gave her a chance to surrender, he just fired!  ”

“And he’s in the infirmary because of her.”

“She was defending herself!  Any one of us would have reacted the same!”

“Agent Morse, Agent Calderon has a long and distinguished career with SHIELD-“

“So did John Garrett.”  Bobbi retorted.  That brought the two Agents up short.

“Agent Morse, if you’re suggesting that Agent Calderon is Hydra-“

“I’m not suggesting anything.”  Bobbi fumed.  “I’m saying outright that what Calderon did makes him no better than Hydra.  And if this board is going to sanction his actions, then it’s no better than Hydra either.”

Her eyes were cold and hard as her gaze bore into the two senior agents.

“We broke into this base and tried to capture Coulson in order to get Fury’s toolbox so that we could do things the right way.  But if we’re going to cross people off because we’re afraid of them?  There’s nothing right about that.”

Agent Weaver spoke up, trying to relieve the tension.

“Agent Morse, you’re obviously very worked up about this matter.   Perhaps you should reconsider-“

“Perhaps you should consider what your two prize pupils would think of your attitude to sanctioning the murder of their friend.”  Bobbi spat.

She turned to stalk away, but paused as she got to the door where she turned back.

“If Skye hadn’t been able to defend herself from Calderon, he wouldn’t be in the infirmary right now.  He’d be dead in the forest.  I would have crossed him off myself, right there.”

Gonzales and Weaver stared at her, the implied threat hanging heavily in the air.

“I joined SHIELD, we ALL joined SHIELD to protect people.  And you don’t do that by indiscriminately killing people based on your prejudices.”

As she let that settle in, she continued.  “I will be writing up a full incident report.  If Agent Calderon recovers, I will file professional misconduct charges against him.  If my report is swept under the rug, I will be resigning from SHIELD.  I want no part of this agency if that’s how we’re going to conduct ourselves.”

She turned and exited the room.

“You better go after her, see if you can settle her down.”  Agent Weaver told Agent Gonzales.

Gonzales gripped his cane as he considered her words.

“Do you think she’s right?”

Anne Weaver pursed her lips thoughtfully.

“Thomas saved me at the Academy.  I owe him my life.  So many more people could have been killed if it hadn’t been for him.  Robert, you didn’t see what Hydra unleashed on us that day.  I understand his concern.”

Gonzales gave her a cool stare.  “Would Agents Fitz and Simmons understand it?”

Agent Weaver bowed her head.

“I don’t know.  Quite possibly not.  They are close with Agent Skye.  They may not be able to look beyond their personal relationships.”

Agent Gonzales nodded.

“I’ll go talk to Barbara.”
