Team

Sometimes, Clint wishes the team could hold back against him. His strength is lacking against everyone in the team. He cannot manage a Thor punch or a Steve Rogers kick. Whether it is a friendly duel between himself and a member of the team, or during their feuds. He hopes the team would take into consideration his weakness.

He never says it. He never wants to. Clint hopes they care enough to take pity.

The team is not against him. The Team loves him very much. It is sometimes, when they are in friendly duels, they will go full berserk on him.

They can easily push back on him. Clint does not have any special physical strength.

Not like Thor. Thor is strong and unforgiving. Even during friendly duels, Clint would have to brace for impact. He can dodge a hit or two, but when Thor catches up to him; it is painful.

When he was slammed against the wall; Clint’s breath had been taken away. Coughing and waving a hand at Thor to stop when he was about to be stomped. Thankfully, Thor did stop.

It took almost two days for Clint to recover from their friendly duel. Thor did ask for his wellbeing, but Clint waved it off. It was nothing he told Thor, but it was painful. Clint wishes he can say it aloud. Tell him to relax occasionally.

When he had an argument with Steve, the man had gone easy on him. It was specially embarrassing considering it was Clint who started the physical match. But at the end of the day, it was Steve who had twisted his arm around his back and sprained it. It took two minutes for Steve to show dominance, and it was wild how easy it was for him. Needless to say, Steve could have easily stopped after the first hit since it knocked Clint to the ground with it.

To stop the fight from escalating; Steve had taken the high road, but not without overpowering Clint first.

Clint’s arm had been in a cast for a week. Steve never apologized, probably because he did not realize how much strength he had used. Clint forgave him, apologized first because he had started to begin with.

During a team fight against an enemy. Tony and himself had gotten into a disagreement. Clint didn’t agree with the strategy. The man was too self-observed to realize Clint didn’t have any special armor or powers to stop the enemy from killing him. Clint wanted to stay behind the pillars and attack the enemy down with his arrows, but Tony had pushed him straightforward.

The rage Clint felt after the enemy fell was heavy. He punched Tony but hurt his hand instead. Tony was still in the armor and safe. When the billionaire raised his fist to punch Clint back; Clint had to brace himself for impact.

He woke up minutes later in his bed.

What to say about Bruce Banner? the man was usually calm and collected. It took a small tick for him to lose control once in a while.

While sitting on the kitchen counter with Natasha and sipping coffee. Bruce walks in looking disoriented and out of place. His ruffled hair does not help much either. Clint makes an innocent joke, and he regrets it the second Bruce gives him a look.

Thankfully, Bruce does not turn into Hulk. Instead, he picks a coffee cup from the counter and uses Hulk like strength and speed to hit Clint with.

There is blood spilling from Clint’s forehead and he remains seated. More so because he is frozen in his spot and it takes Natasha to stand up and stop the mess from escalating further.

Clint does not make eye contact when Bruce retreats. His stomach sinks at the thought of being embarrassed and humiliated and not being able to do anything about it.

Later that day, when Clint comes across Bruce, his breath hitches. The man apologizes for losing his cool, and Clint dismisses it as nothing. It was far from truth, but it kept the animosity away. Nothing a little talk couldn’t fix.

Loki takes control of him again. Clint has become the go to minion for Loki to possess and take control off.

It has become a regular thing now. Anytime he becomes possessed; one of the Avengers need to knock him out and bring him back to normal.

It’s Natasha again. And she pummels him until his head his spinning. Loki has prevented him from passing out, and it’s horrible.

Clint is on the verge of losing his mind. He wants to say one thing; but Loki’s words are spilling out of his mouth. Threats, curses, and plans of revenge are all that he can say.

Natasha kicks him in the head, repeatedly. Normally, he would be passed out already, but not now.

In the end, Loki’s powers fade. Not because the sorcerer loses control, but because Clint’s body gives in. He can’t fight anymore, and he collapses. Natasha still takes the opportunity to stomp on him one last time: effectively knocking him out.

She didn’t have to do that, Clint ponders. But he has already forgiven her by the time he wakes up in the hospital.

Even after everything is said and done; Clint doesn’t take anything personally. Everyone in the team has a character and personality. They do what is best in the situation, and what is effective.

Still, Clint hopes the team would take their powers into consideration next time they square up.

It could be best to avoid such casualties, but there isn’t much for him to do when he can’t help himself or the situation arises.

Out of every Avenger on the team, Clint ends up in the hospital the most. All the enemies have him as the weak spot on the team, and they are right about it.

He has been walking on his toes lately. Mostly because Loki can appear from anywhere and take him back.

Or, he walks around not showing his ire towards his team members during fights. Most of the time, he ends up on the floor as a loser.

It is heart wrenching, as well as annoying. He doesn’t want special treatment, far from it. He just wants to be equals. If he wants to fight his teammates, it would do good for them to hold back on their powers once in a while.

Still, Clint doesn’t say much to them.
