Chapter 34
Loki's pregnancy kept progressing. The baby kept growing and so did Thor's worry. Until now, everything had worked as planned and the baby had stayed in its "normal" Aesir form. But the god knew that this could change in any moment and it unsettled him maybe even more than Loki. It was summer in the meantime and Loki was growing more and more uncomfortable with the heated rooms. Luckily, Tony had air conditioning and they always had it activated in their room. But while it was still too hot for Loki, Thor began shivering beneath the blankets. He ignored it though, switching the air conditioning to its maximum so Loki would at least feel a little better. One time, Loki awoke in the middle of the night. He felt terrible! He was drowned in sweat although the windows were closed, hurting all over and definitely in no good mood. He looked over to see Thor snoring peacefully beside him, tightly wrapped in a blanket and actually wearing a night shirt which was no common thing. Usually Thor was holding him while they slept but now he refrained from it, knowing it would only heat Loki up more. It was unfair! How could Thor simply sleep on while he was suffering? Loki pulled the blanket away a little.
Loki: "Thor!"
Thor's eyes shot open slowly, shortly scanning the room before focusing on Loki.
Thor(sleepily): "Loki? Is something wrong? Are you alright? The baby - ?"
Loki(frustrated): "The baby's keeping me awake. I'm too fucking hot, my stomach and back are hurting like hell and - I'm just - "
Loki trailed off, feeling too dizzy to go on. Thor's gaze softened a little at seeing that there was no sudden danger. Still, it made him unhappy to see Loki suffering like this while he'd been fast asleep. Thor sighed, turning over onto his side and cupping Loki's cheek with one of his hands. Although he couldn't quite understand how Loki could be hot in here - he felt like nearly freezing - he knew he had to make this better. He took one hand to Loki's stomach, looking at the small bump lovingly.
Thor: "Hey, you have to let Loki sleep, you listen? Don't make him feel so unwell."
Loki forced a small smile onto his lips at Thor's words, though he didn't have the feeling it helped a lot.
Loki: "Can you - can you just - I don't know - make this better somehow, please?"
Thor didn't hesitate one second, straightening up in bed and stretching his tired limbs. Loki truly looked in pain now, curling up on his side but stretching out the next moment, not finding any comfortable position.
Thor: "Of course, love. Just tell me what I can do to make you feel better."
Loki only moaned slightly, burying his face in Thor's hair.
Loki: " - Don't know just - do something!"
Thor: " - Don't worry, dear. We'll fix this."
The first thing the prince did was getting up and heading for the exit. Loki looked up confused.
Loki: "Wh-where are you going? - Stay here - please!"
Thor: "I'll be right back, love. I'm only getting you something to make you feel better."

When he returned, Loki saw he was carrying several towels in his hand. Then he kneeled down at the bedside, gingerly stroking back strands of hair and placing one of them on Loki's forehead. Loki sighed joyfully. The fabric was filled with ice and it felt damn good. The other two were placed behind his neck and down at his feet. The blonde could see Loki immediately relaxed a little at the cold and it made him smile to know that he could lift his spirits so quickly.
Thor: "That was only the beginning, my love."
Then he carefully pulled the black-haired man closer so he was now lying in his arms. Loki tried to curl up again but Thor gently put a hand to his stomach, forcing him to stay flat. The trickster whimpered slightly, gripping onto Thor's hand.
Thor: "Shh, it's alright. You will feel better soon."
At first Thor began massaging Loki's shoulders in a firm grip as an attempt to ease the tension a little. But when a suppressed sob escaped the trickster's lips he moved further down, rubbing soothing circles into Loki's lower back. Loki moaned and pressed closer, his expression turning into a smile. The prince started very gentle, not wanting to insert too much pressure on his body in fear of causing him any more discomfort. Loki cuddled as close as possible, wanting as much of Thor's touch as he could get. Shivers ran down his spine as Thor kept massaging carefully but he could still feel the baby lying heavily in his stomach. Although the treatment, the pain didn't get better and at some point, needy moans were coming from his mouth.
Loki: "Please - Thor - more! Harder! I - I need this!"
Thor hesitated shortly, before continuing faster and harder, his strong fingers digging into Loki's muscles. After a while, he moved one hand to Loki's stomach, supporting his body from both sides. Loki slowly relaxed under his grip.
Loki: " - A bit more up - yes, like this!"
Thor'd moved to the middle of Loki's back, the other hand still on his stomach, and was now pushing down gently which caused the god's muscles to relent and soothe slowly. After an hour, Loki was back asleep, peacefully this time. Thor continued for a few minutes, then he put Loki down beneath the covers, stretching out next to him. Before falling back asleep himself, he looked to Loki's stomach once more.
Thor: "And don't you dear wake him up again, understood?"
