Chapter 14
It really could be said that Thor hurried. He didn't look anywhere else but at the street in front of him, running through the traffic like mad. In the shop he took a little more time, thinking of what he and Loki could possibly need. As he came out, he was startled by his phone starting to ring. He hastily pulled it out, recognizing loki's number.
Thor: "Loki? What's it?"
Loki: "Come back! Please! Don't leave me alone! Come back!"
Loki's voice was quiet, his sentence interrupted by flat breaths and a noise that sounded like suppressed sobs.
Thor: "I'm back in a minute, love. Everything alright?"
As an answer came a "yes" that sounded like half of a sob.
Thor: "Okay, listen - I'll be with you right away. Try to stay calm and breathe slowly, alright? In and out. Slowly."
Loki: "I'll - I'll try."
Thor quickly hang off, running back as fast as he could.
------
When Thor returned he quickly dropped everything in the kitchen before rushing to Loki's side. The trickster hadn't panicked, instead he was sobbing quietly. Thor sat down next to him, gently touching his frail hand.
Thor: "Loki?"
Loki slightly turned, recognizing Thor and pulling him close instantly.
Thor: "Hey, schhhh - it's alright. Everything's okay."
Loki cuddled as close as he could, burying his face in Thor's cape. Thor wrapped his arms around him protectively, allowing him a few minutes to calm his breath before he began to speak again.
Thor: "Are you hungry?"
Loki nodded slightly. Thor kissed him, laid him back onto the bed and straightened himself.
Thor: "Then I'll have to try myself at cooking. What do you want? Spaghetti?"
When Thor saw Loki's face lighten up, he started laughing.
Thor: "I'm in the kitchen if you need something."
The thunderer got up, brushing back Loki's hair and leaving to prepare their food.
--------
Cooking was more difficult than Thor had thought it could be. Once he'd figured out how to use the oven and had managed to understand the recipe he nearly burned the noodles and later on came close to burning himself with the hot water. When he was nearly finished, he heard the door being opened hesitantly. As he turned, Loki was standing in the doorframe with one hand put to the wood so he couldn't fall. The prince walked over, gently putting his hands around Loki's waist.
Thor: "Everything alright?"
Loki nodded slightly.
Loki: "Yeah. It's just - I'm feeling safer when you're close."
Thor: "That's just fine. I'm here."
He pulled him closer, allowing him to fall into his arms.
Thor: "Still quite exhausted?"
Loki: "My head is aching terribly, just like everything else. And my muscles - "
Loki only flinched, trying to suppress the convulsions that were still racking him. Thor nodded understandingly.
Thor: "We'll take care of this. Banner told me how to help you. And as long as you're not able to use your muscle,s I'll be around to lend you mine."
He gingerly picked the black-haired boy up, carrying him over towards the table.
Thor: "Food's ready in a minute."
As he put Loki down on a chair, he kissed the top of his hair, returning to get their meal ready.
