Chapter 6
Next morning it was Thor who woke up earlier. With one glance towards the clock, he decided he'd stay in bed for a few more minutes. He looked to his side. Loki was sleeping peacefully, his hair covering one half of his face. He'd fallen asleep in Thor's arms and there he still was, cuddling comfortably. Thor knew he had to get up, but he couldn't manage waking his lover up. So he carefully relented his grip, lifting Loki up gently and then putting him back down. Loki only moaned quietly, turning to the other side and sleeping on. Thor smiled, placing a kiss on Loki's hair and forcing himself out of bed. As he returned from work later on, he passed a book store. He knew Loki loved books, so he walked in and bought him one as a surprise. When he returned home, Loki was sitting on the sofa, staring into nothing.
Thor: "Hey Loki! What's the matter?"
Loki looked up quickly, jumping up and running into his arms.
Loki: "Nothing. Only, if you're not with me I'm running out of things to do."
Thor couldn't help laughing.
Thor: "Then be glad that you have me!"
He drew the book he'd brought from his pocket and handed it to Loki.
Thor: "This should ease your boredom a bit, or?"
Loki examined the book closely, a smile spreading across his face as he ran his fingers over the soft leather cover.
Loki: "With what did I deserve you?"
Thor's gaze grew serious.
Thor: "With everything you are. Believe me, - no one deserves me more than you do."
He gently took Loki's face into his hands, lifted it up and kissed his lips, which were coloured slightly pink. Thor gazed at him flashed.
Thor: "You look like - snow white, you know? The pale skin, the black hair - "
Loki blushed, looking down quickly.
Loki: "I'm sure you're hungry?"
Thor: "You're right. Shall I get something?"
Loki: "Already here."
He gestured towards behind them. When Thor turned, he saw the meal, already layed out on the table.
Thor: "You know, I really start liking the idea of you working at home."
Loki smiled, then moved away from Thor and led him towards the prepared table. Thor sat down with a huge sigh, waiting a second before picking up the cutlery and starting to eat.
Loki: "How was work?"
Thor only shrugged his shoulders while finishing his bite. Then he spoke up.
Thor: "Ah, it was ok. Only - it's not really providing any challenge, smashing a few mortals to the ground. For now it's alright and I'm earning enough, but for long I'll have to search something that suits me better. I don't even need my muscles."
Loki smiled slightly.

On another day they were lying in bed in the evening together. Thor was exhausted from working all day and was almost asleep, having his arms wrapped around his lover tightly, when Loki suddenly attracted his attention.
Loki: "Thor? You remember the book you gave to me a few days ago?"
Thor opened his eyes sleepily, gazing at Loki in confusion.
Thor: "Mhm, - sure I do. What's the matter bout it?"
Loki: "These characters are kind of strange - you know. The main character of this story is such an arrogant oaf! I'm getting tired of him by only hearing his name! And, and - his love interest is so stupid it's nearly funny again to watch him adore her when she doesn't even get he loves her!"
Thor couldn't help laughing at this sudden burst of emotion, which was really unusual for Loki, who normally always kept his thoughts to himself.
Thor: "So you don't like it?"
Loki: "No! Sure I like it. There are also a few characters who are really interesting. Especially the antagonist. But - in some cases I'm not getting why these people even exist! They're just - irrelevant for the whole story! Why do you write people into a book, who have no purpose at all? I'm really not getting the idea of this author! And - and the world is so unrealistic - "
Loki's eyelids dropped as his words grew more quiet and his body slowly fell to the side. Thor caught him with a smile and put a gentle kiss to his lips.
Thor: "My angel! - Sweet dreams, my love."
