Date Night!

Steve left the day after the meeting about starting the Accords.

Nat left the night before the present night. She was going to see Steve first before going to Vienna.

Clint claimed after the Accords were brought to his attention that he was retired so he wouldn’t be at the compound.

Tony, Rhodey, and Sam were all gone so it left the three teens and synthezoid alone.

Which means Veronika and Pietro were getting ready for date night, part one.

They planned two dates and they were going to have the time of their lives. They had breakfast and lunch with Wanda and since Wanda knew they wanted time to themselves she and Vision planned a movie night. She took all her snacks and Vision had…well nothing because they don’t eat food.

So Pietro was just checking on the dinner he was cooking and then running back to his room to get finished dressing. Knowing Veronika would be most likely dressed up, and beautiful, like always, he didn’t want to be in just boxers and a tank top. It wouldn’t really be classy if he did so.

Veronika was in her room getting ready. Her pup helped her out, well tried at least, it made her laugh at how cute it was. Now she was trying not to be too fancy so she wore some nice jeans and a blue and purple striped T-shirt tucked into her pants with her rings she wore almost daily. And decided to just wear her nice sneakers because well this wasn’t an out of the box date so what’s the use?

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

She looked at the door standing up from her bed after tying her shoes. She had a huge smile on her face as she couldn’t stop at the thought that they’d actually kind of have a date tonight…. She opened the door to see her lovely boyfriend. His hair all fixed up and he dressed in a black t-shirt with jeans. He looked even more handsome, if that can be accomplished, than he usually does.

“Buna frumoaso.” Pietro smiled looking at her. “Ready for our ‘date’?” He held out his hand.
(Hello Beautiful.)

Veronika laughed. “Bineînțeles că sunt frumos.” She took his hand, and he brought her out, Artemis following close behind her, mommy, daddy, and puppy get the date night, that’s normal. Right?
(Of course, I am handsome.)

He brought her to the dining area he had set up for her, candles decorating the area around them and roses as a centerpiece at the table.

“Oh Pietro, they’re beautiful!” She remarked as she walked up and looked at the color, they were purple, one of those bouquets you could buy with food coloring.

He stepped behind her happily. “Yep and not stolen I promise” He said knowing her and Wanda have their complaints with him doing that. But also their fair share of jokes.

She gave a sideways glance. “Ha ha. Very cute Silver,” he smiled giddily as he stood behind the chair that was going to be hers and pulled it out.

“M’lady,” he nodded to the chair. She sat but not before she gave him a sweet kiss. Which with no hesitation he reciprocated.

“Thank you, sir,” she smiled as he pushed her chair in carefully and ran into the kitchen. Artemis sat by her feet staring at the table.

Veronika stared at the little scene around her that he had set and she couldn’t help but marvel at how…romantic it was. It was like those movies Wanda showed her. Like the books the girls in that High School group chat recommend to her.

Pietro came out of the kitchen oven mitts on as he brought the dish to the table, it seemed like something Wanda had made before. Before she could ask he started explaining. “This is Chicken and Paprikash, a dish with,” he went on explaining it, she didn’t understand a word just how beautiful and how delicious it looks while he’s dishing it out to both their plates.

She took up her spoon and took a bite.

If Heaven has a taste. This is it. She thought to herself and she looked at her boyfriend in a tad shock. The food bursted with flavor, she remembered he said he could cook, but never said he could cook THIS good. It’s learning something new about him every day.

“This is really good. How’d you make this so well?” She asked as she basically devoured it. Something she rarely does.

He chuckled at her enthusiasm, shrugging at her question, but she knew, just from his eyes and mind, it made him sad. “It’s a dish Wanda and I’s mother used to make…” he said. “She taught Wanda and I to cook.”

Veronika looked at him as he said these things. She could feel the pain he had in his heart just radiating off him. So she just asked, “what was she like?” She was curious, Wanda talked of their parents on very rare occasions but Pietro never seemed to let anything be known.

“What?” He asked as he was zoned out for a second when she asked.

“Your mother, what was she like?” her eyes trained on the boy in front of her. She held her spoon still but didn’t move it to the food.

He stared at the pot that held the rest of what they were eating with a smile faint on his lips.

He looked at their food then at his girlfriend. “She was the best. Literally the epitome of what a mother should be…” He smiled. “She was the strongest woman I’d ever-” he paused then looked at his girlfriend adoringly. “As a kid she was the strongest woman I’d ever thought I’d meet. Now she still stands as one of the strongest women I’ve met. But there’s many,” he looked directly at Veronika, “who stand with her.”

Veronika listened as he explained a little more what she was like.

“Most of all she was adoring, she loved everyone. If she met you I think she would’ve loved you,” he said a while into his list. Her eyes shone and he saw that purple and blue light go over them, she smiled.

“She would’ve loved a trained assassin dating her son?” she joked. “You sure?”

“Well if I love you, she would’ve.” He decided. “She had a thing for looking past what a person thinks is bad in themselves, her and Wanda always had people figured out.” He said and looked down again.

Veronika watched as a tear left his eye, in the flash of her shadows she was next to him holding his face, and wiping his tears. “She sounds like she was a wonderful woman. And she made and raised a beautiful son.” She whispered, kissing his cheek. He slid a hand around her and pulled her close. Nuzzling into her neck, taking deep breaths trying to not cry. Artemis too had moved and put her head in her dog dad’s lap.

“Can I ask you something?” He asked after a while of him holding her and her brushing his hair with her fingers in silence.

“You just did.” She smirked and he rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips.

“I’m serious Lumina stelelor.”

She laughed “Alright, what do you wanna ask?” she looked at him.

“Do you remember anything about your own mother?” Pietro asked, just curious, she remembered her father. Maybe just maybe there was something good in her past?

Her hands stopped running through the silvery white waves of his hair, and she looked at the wall blankly as she thought. Her posture slouched now and her eyes narrowed. Her mind wandered through memories that she could sorta remember. From before her time in H.Y.D.R.A. and the Red Room. They were quite foggy though, but there nonetheless. She saw a woman in most of them. A beautiful woman who she swore she could hear talking in these memories. Without even realizing she hummed a tune that she heard but not remembering where. She just hummed.

“Is that something she sang to you?” Pietro asked, listening to his girlfriend’s silent hums.

She shook her head, “I think so? I don’t have many memories from before HYDRA. Just images that come and go. But I think I remember the soft words in Russian? I don’t think it’s Russian…but I hear words?”

“Do you remember what they were?” He asked genuinely curious.

“Something about me being her little moondancer I think. It’s funny, it’s like I’ve always been connected with the moon and stars.” she said as she thought of the little song she heard in her head.

His hand interlocking their fingers snapped her back to him. “Do you think she knew?”

“That the father of her child would torture said child? I hope not…” she looked at their hands and he just looked at her. “I sometimes wonder if at some point they both loved me. Sometimes.” She shrugged, “but now’s not the time to dwell on that-” she shook her head as she spoke but Pietro squeezed her hand, cutting her sentence short.

“You know it’s okay to talk about it right? I am not one to judge, and I’ll have no right to.”

“Pietro, I want my past in the past… All I want is this moment right now. Okay?” She looked at him, lifting the hand he wasn’t holding to his face.

He wished she would just talk to him, but then again he knows he has his issues with going into detail. Just she made everything easier. He nodded and she lowered her face to kiss him and he returned it.

Suddenly she pulled away and he gave a look which she smiled at.

“What? Waste this food to kiss you? Never, your kisses are good but what you made with food is far better.”

Pietro rolled his eyes, but he had a smile. “Oh fine.” she laughed while sitting and eating again.

They ate their dinner and soon Pietro went to her and pulling out her chair he put a hand out to help her up. He said there was gonna be a movie type night but they weren’t going to the living area. He brought her to the roof. He put a blindfold on her (which took A LOT of convincing), and led her way.

“Pietro Django Maximoff if you do not take this off me-”

“Hold on, just sit tight for a while. I want this to be a surprise.”

She sighed and soon they were out in the crisp night air. He had his hands on her waist as he guided her as to where to look.

“Can I look now?”

He slid his hands up her sides and onto the blindfold. “Yeah, three, two, one…now” he took it off and she opened her eyes to see a beautiful set up of fairy lights and a big white sheet, and next to her stood a projector.

He set up a little movie spot, under the stars, just for them.

She gasped.

“Do you like it?” He asked, a little hint of worry in his tone. “Wanda told me you like to see the stars and so I thought maybe-”

She basically jumped hugging him. “It’s beautiful! I love it.” She whispered, kissing his cheek. “When did you have time to set all of this up?”

“While you and Wanda were hanging out. I made this, stole the projector from the theater room, there’s more snacks at the bottom of the cart too.”

“But we just ate.”

“Ok? I’m still hungry.” he shrugged, grinning that little, famous grin of his. She laughed nodding.

Fast metabolism, gotta love it right?

“Alright ready Printesa mea?” He asked, showing her a bunch of blankets and pillows. They were going to lay on.

She smiled at how much effort he put into this.

“You did this just for me?” she asked, still baffled.

“Well for US really but yeah, for you.” he stood in front of her and put his hands on each side of her face. “Am spus că vreau să arăt cât de mult te -am iubit, asta, ce privești, ce am făcut pentru cină, atât de mult te iubesc.” his eyes stayed on hers and she went onto her tiptoes to kiss him and he kissed back.
(I said I wanted to show how much I loved you, THIS, what you’re looking at, what I did for dinner, that’s how much I love you).

“You’re incredible, you know that?” she whispered.

Pietro felt a bit of a pit in his stomach, after he signed those Accords he just felt off for some reason. Even knowing Nat and Steve would do ANYTHING to protect their daughter wasn’t enough. He just stared at her green eyes that were looking at him. “That's all you, Iubirea mea.” he uttered against her, kissing her sweetly again. She put her arms around his neck to hook herself to him and he pulled her against him by her waist. “Now sit, let me play the movie. Okay?”

Veronika nodded as he let go and walked to his little set up. She sat down and it was so comfortable. Waiting for him she leaned against the pillows and patiently for her lover.

Soon the silver-haired boy came over to her with a bright smile on his face as he sat next to her and the movie started. Music playing on it. And when the talking started she got excited.

Anastasia?”

“Mhmm.” he nodded with a smile.

“I LOVE THIS MOVIE!” She yelled happily and he laughed nodding.

“I know!”

“How did you-”

“Wanda.” he smirked again. “But also I heard you talking to Black Widow about it.”

“You can call my mama ‘Nat’, you know that right?”

“Well I would but she just found out we’re dating, we’re not on first name basis yet.”

She rolled her eyes laughing.

Of course.

“Thank you for this…” she said, looking at him still. “It’s so very beautiful.”

Mă bucur că îți place, totul este pentru tine.” he smiled looking at her.
(I'm happy you like it, it's all for you.)

Veronika grinned and turned facing the movie and resting her head on his.

The movie went by, and as it went, they turned their attention to the stars, gazing off. Veronika naming all the stars and constellations, Pietro watching and listening to her. His eyes just adored her, and her excitement.

She thought of her connection with the stars, and moon, she thought it might have to do with the fact her powers coexist with the night.

But then again maybe it was deeper.

Soon her and Pietro had fallen asleep on the roof wrapped in blankets and each other’s limbs.
