Note
This is something I've wanted to do for a while. There aren't nearly enough crossovers of the Clone Wars and the MCU. So I thought I'd correct this error. This is my first ever fanfiction. I hope to carry out my full plan for this story. And please enjoy the first chapter of Forces of Infinity.

Innocents of Ryloth

“The costs of war can never be truly accounted for. When Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Maximoff twins arrived on the surface of Ryloth, they found that a Twi'lek city was in ruins. And that is the next lesson in this arc: homes will be destroyed. The battle may be won, but at what cost? This was an all too familiar setting for Wanda and Pietro, for they had grown up in the same environment.”

-An excerpt from The Fight For Justice, by Luke Skywalker.

“First trick will be getting our troops on the ground. You are certain that you are fine waiting here on the ship?” Obi-Wan asked the pair of leading Avengers as he walked towards the gunships.

“The twins need the experience,” Steve explained. “Besides, it’s best that we spread out with the rest of the invasion force.”

“Wanda and Pietro will be more than enough to help you take Nabat,” Natasha added. “After you establish the landing zone, we’ll come down with Windu. Then Viz and Sam will meet up with Anakin, Ahsoka and Rhodey and join in.”

“Well, it’s time to meet the natives,” the Jedi nodded and looked to see the twins were waiting with the clones.

“Second mission, Wanda. You ready?” Pietro asked.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” she shrugged before glancing at the Jedi. “How bad is it down there?”

“Very,” Kenobi grimaced. “The Twi’leks are hanging by a thread. If we don’t get down there soon, many more will starve to death.”

“Well, what are we waiting for?” Pietro questioned.

The three stepped into the gunship and the doors closed behind them. The Accalamators descended through the atmosphere to make their landing.

On the surface, within Nabat was a courtyard with four pieces of artillery. In the center was a small command center where a tactical droid spoke to the hologram of Wat Tambor.

“You must not allow the clones to reach the surface.”

“Our new proton cannons are in the optimum position to prevent that, sir.”

“What-” the Separatist was cut off by his respirator warbling, and stopped to fix it. “What if they focus the attack on your cannons?”

“I am utilizing the prisoners from this village as living shields,” the droid stood up and gestured to the chained up Twi’leks all around them. “I calculate the Jedi will not risk the prisoners’ safety with a direct assault.”

The gunships departed one of the Republic ships and flew over the planet’s forests.

“We need to remember why we’re here,” Obi-Wan began. “We came to aid the Twi’leks, not destroy their home. Cody?”

“That means we’ll be taking it back the hard way. Minimal destruction with blasters and droid poppers only. No rockets or detonators. Check your aim. Keep an eye out for the locals. Am I understood?”

“Sir, yes, sir!” the troopers said as Boil put down the rocket launchers he’d brought. Then he sighed.

“If were here to free the tail-heads, the least they can do is get out of our way,” he grumbled to Waxer.

“Hey, show some compassion,” Wanda chastised him. “I bet you’d feel different if it were Kamino.” That got the clone to be silent.

“Sir, the enemy is in range,” a droid informed the tactical one.

“Fire at will.”

The proton cannons aimed for the sky and opened fire. The loud noise of the blasts caused the Twi’leks to cover their leku in pain. The blasts exploded around the Accalamators. Then one of them struck an engine, leading it to slowly plummet to the ground. Steve, Natasha and Windu clutched to anything they could on the bridge.

“Have that cruiser evacuated immediately, and pull the rest of the ships out of here,” Rogers ordered.

“Patch us through to General Kenobi,” Romanov commanded.

“We can’t risk landing the larger transports until you take out those guns,” Windu’s hologram said.

“Pull back. We’ll take care of it,” Kenbi said. As the cruisers withdrew, the cannons set their sights for the gunships and shot at them. “Who’s up for a challenge? We’re not getting any reinforcements until those guns are out of commission.”

“Should take me about twelve seconds,” Pietro boasted. His sister them smacked him upside the head.

“Don’t get cocky,” she said sternly.

“Here we go again,” Waxer shook his head at the entire situation.

“Commander, the Republic transports have turned away, but the gunships are still heading towards us,” a droid spoke.

“Just as I calculated.”

The gunships opened their doors and landed behind a hill. The strike force ran out through the trees and soon arrived at the outskirts of the village. There were two positions high up where droids stood with mounted machine guns.

“I think I see movement in the trees. Fire! Fire!” The droids with the light artillery let loose long strings of blaster fire.

“Come on, then, let’s go! Go, go, go!” Cody ordered.

Everyone ran forward, using the trees as cover. Obi-Wan blocked and deflected incoming blasts with his lightsaber. Pietro dashed between the clones and pulled them out of harm’s way every time a laser got too close. Wanda used her powers to cast a makeshift shield once she got in front of the others.

“That bunker’s gonna be a problem, General,” Cody reported.

“Leave the bunker to me. Bring in your troopers on my signal.” He looked at Waxer and Boil. “You two wanted action. Follow me.”

“You heard him, Waxer,” Boil said.

The three then ran past Wanda’s shield and took cover behind the rocks in front of them.

“Let’s take them out. Now!” Obi-Wan ordered. Waxer threw a droid popper at one of the perches, but they were too far, and the deactivator bounced off the wall.

“We’ve gotta get closer to the wall!” the clone spoke.

“Try again. I’ll give you some help.”

Waxer did so and this time Kenobi caught the device with the Force and flung it into the bunker. It went off inside and sent out an electrical charge that shut off the droids. Boil then did the same for the other one and the machine guns were out of the picture.

“Ghost Company. Let’s move. Pietro, cover us,” Cody ordered.

“You got it,” the speedster nodded as the group pushed forward.

“Sir, I’ve lost contact with our outer defenses,” a droid said.

“The Republic troops have overrun the village perimeter. Find out the Jedi plan to attack. And see if there are any Avengers with them.”

“Roger, roger.” The droid released two probes from the command center and they flew off.

Obi-Wan and the twins now stood within the city and looked at the smoke in the distance.

“The wall is secure, sir,” Cody saluted. “Are we moving onto the guns?”

“We need to know what the droids have in store for us. Send your best men to scout ahead. You two go with them.” The Maximoffs and Cody nodded.

“”Will do, sir. Boil, Waxer, come with us.”

“I guess we’re the best,” Boil grinned underneath his helmet.

The clones and twins carefully walked through the abandoned streets. The Sokovians had deep frowns on their faces. This was a very familiar image to them.

“Buildings are just buildings. What really makes a city are the people that live in them,"Cody said.

“So, where are they?” Boil asked the question they were all thinking. Cody then raised his fist, silently ordering them to halt.

“We’ll check out the courtyard,” the Commander gestured to Pietro and himself. “You three take the south sector. Be back at command by 0620.”

Pietro glared at the yellow clad clones sternly and crossed his arms.

“If my sister is in any way harmed-”

“Come on,” Cody dragged him away by the collar. Wanda just rolled her eyes fondly and left with the two clones.

“I tell you, this is creepy,” Waxer said. “You think they killed all of them?” he asked with some hesitation. This caused Wanda to clench her fist.

“Well, there are no bodies,” Boil noted.

“They were driven from their homes,” Wanda almost growled.

“I don’t think they had a…” Waxer trailed off as he heard a crunching noise and aimed his gun at some rubble.

“Had a what?” Boil asked.

“Choice,” Waxer sighed, lowering his weapon.

Neither did I, Wanda thought.

Pietro and Cody hid behind a few crates in an alley, watching as droids passed them by and went into the courtyard. Cody looked through a pair of binoculars to see a tank on patrol with more droids.

“The place is crawling with clankers,” Pietro observed with his own eyes. “I can see Wanda and I getting past them to the guns, but not the rest of the men.”

“There always is a way, Pietro.” The clone turned to the command center in the courtyard and his eyes widened. “Wait, Twi’leks. They’re holding all the survivors hostage.”

“Wait, what?! Let me see that!” the Avenger pulled the binoculars from the Commander’s hands and looked for himself. “Those sons of bitches! Using innocent people as a shield– That’s low even for you!” he screamed.

Cody immediately covered his mouth and pulled him down. A few droids looked in their direction before shrugging and walking away.

“Are you trying to get us caught?!” the clone quietly exclaimed.

“Right, right. I’m sorry.”

“Hey, I’m pissed too, but you need to be smart here. We have to report this to General Kenobi.”

“Okay. Hold tight, then.”

“Why-” he was cut off by Pietro grabbing him and speeding all the way back to camp. After a minute to get his bearings, Cody went to the General.

Unnoticed by everyone, a probe droid hovered above them and perched on the collapsed roof, looking down at the planning leaders.

“Found the guns. They’re in the courtyard here and here,” Cody pointed to a hologram of said area. “But there’s a complication. They’ve taken the locals hostage and they’re using them as shields.”

“The Twi’lek prisoners will make this difficult but not impossible,” Kenobi said.

“I could get them out of there. Speed right in and pull them outta harm's way,” Maximoff suggested.

“That’s still too risky,” Steve responded.

“He’s right. You can only carry so many people at a time. The droids are bound to notice before you’re done,” Romanov added. “And just because you’re fast doesn’t mean you can’t get shot. Remember Sokovia?”

“Don’t remind me,” Pietro groaned and instinctively rubbed his arm. He had quite a few scars from when the Ultron drones shot at him. None on his diaphragm, thank God, but there were plenty on his arms and legs.

“I still have a good plan for taking out those guns,” Obi-Wan affirmed.

“Getting those villagers out of harm’s way is our first priority. I have faith in you, General Kenobi,” Windu said.

“Ahem,” Pietro coughed, looking at the Fury look-a-like pointedly.

“And you, Maximoff.”

“And my sister?”

“…Yes.”

“Why did you just hesitate?” the older twin questioned with narrowed eyes.

“Cody, we’ll go in with everything we have. Clear those hostages,” Kenobi cut in.

The tactical droid watched all this through the eyes of the probe.

“So, it’s General Kenobi who is leading this assault. Along with the Avenger known as Pietro Maximoff. They are known for their deceptive maneuvers and super speed respectively.”

“Roger, roger. Download his file,” a droid said.

Waxer, Boil and Wanda stopped at an alley when they heard some stone clattering. They nodded to each other and went in ready for combat. What they found instead was a young Twi’lek girl hiding behind some crates.

“Ah, it’s just a little girl,” Boil scoffed.

Wanda immediately softened her face and knelt down to her with a smile.

“Hi. I’m Wanda,” the Avenger greeted. “It’s okay, we’re not here to hurt you.” The girl seemed to get it, but still looked at the clones warily.

“Well, what are we gonna do with her?” Waxer asked.

“Woah, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why do we have to do anything?” Boil questioned.

“Are you seriously asking that?” Maximoff looked at him incredulously.

“We’ve got a mission to finish.”

“We have to do something.”

“I say we take her with us,” Waxer said.

“I’m up for it.”

“You two can’t be serious. She’ll only slow us down,” Boil argued. The kid backed away. “Look, she's afraid of us.”

“Not us,” Waxer said, noticing a probe. “Quick, hide.” The three immediately did so and the droid flew right past them.

“That was a recon unit. We’d better get moving,” Boil stated.

“We can’t leave her here,” Waxer argued. Wanda nodded in agreement.

“Fine, we’ll take her,” he sighed and reached for her.

“Be careful.”

“Don’t worry, Waxer. I don’t think she’s armed,” Boil sassed his brother. When his hand got too close for her liking, the girl bit one of his fingers. “Ow! Little tail-head bit me.”

“You had that coming,” Wanda chuckled. Then her face softened. “Put down your blasters and take off your helmets. They’re scaring her.”

Waxer nodded and did as she told him. The girl’s eyes widened to see his face.

“See? I'm flesh and blood, just like you.”

“I don’t think she’s eaten in a while,” Wanda frowned, noticing how thin she was.

“Uh, here,” he handed her a ration bar and the Avenger held it out to the girl. She sniffed it for a second before quickly snatching it and munching on the thing. Boil took off his helmet too and the Twi’lek looked at the two with a smile.

“Nerra. Nerra,” she pointed at them.

“No, I’m Waxer. He’s Boil.”

“Nerra. Nerra,” she said again, causing Wanda to giggle.

“Oh, you two made a friend. Mission accomplished,” Boil stated sarcastically as he put on his helmet and sighed. “Can we go now?”

Waxer put his own helmet back on as he and Wanda stood up.

“Come on, kid. Come on,” Waxer offered his hand. All the girl did was look at him and eat her food.

“This is all new to her. If we’re taking her, it has to be done slowly,” Wanda explained. The three then left the alley, Wanda staying close behind to keep her eye on the girl. She whined for a moment, then she followed them out, but kept her distance.

The tactical droid walked through the courtyard. The Twi’lek prisoners looked at him with hate as he did, but he paid them no mind. He stepped down into the lower area filled with cells.

“Sergeant, are the creatures ready?”

“I starved them like you ordered, sir,” a droid in front of a cell with a roaring native beast. It gnawed on the bars. “Uh, are you sure they will not attack us?”

“I need a test to verify my theory.” The droid pressed a button, opening the cell.

“Uh, sir? What are you doing?” One of the beasts began to sniff the poor clanker. “Oh, no.” The predator bit down on the upper half of the droid as he screamed in fear. “Ow! Not my motivator!” The beast then spat him out.

“As I calculated, the creatures require organic meat.”

“Well, that’s a relief.”

“It will not be for the clones. They will provide a most generous supply.” If the tactical droid could grin, he would. He looked down the hall to see multiple beasts in the cells. “And we also have our additional reinforcements to handle the Avenger.” Down at the end of the hall stood four dark figures. Then their eyes glowed with a red hue.

Wanda and Waxer looked back as the girl kept following them, but kept hiding as well.

“I wonder what happened to her family,” Waxer said.

“They’re probably dead. Hopefully she’ll survive this mess,” Boil responded. Wanda closed her eyes and bowed her head.

“What’s gonna happen then? After this is over?” Maximoff questioned, her worry clear to see.

“I don’t know,” he said. The two looked back at her. “Ah, don’t get any ideas. We’re not taking her with us.” They all looked to see an empty street behind them.

“She’s gone,” Waxer gasped.

“I’m sure the little bitter will turn up.”

They turned back to see that she was now in front of them.

“Hey. There you are,” Waxer kneeled down and poked her nose, eliciting a giggle from the kid.

“She’s a quick one,” Wanda smirked.

“How’d she get in front of us?” Boil questioned.

“Nerra. Nerra!” the girl tugged on Waxer’s blaster and pointed ahead of them. Then she ran in that direction.

“No, don’t go that way!” he called out in vain. “That’s where the recon droid went.”

Wanda wasted no time and sped after her.

“What are you-” Boil exclaimed.

“We’re not just gonna let the droids get her,” Waxer ran off too.

“I’m just trying to keep you alive!” He then ran too. “”I’ll be darned if I know why.”

The girl ran under a rock and the others vaulted over it to keep up. They went past ruin after ruin until they found that she came to a stop in the middle of another street.

“Hey, there you are,” Waxer panted and rubbed the top of her head.

“”Good you caught her,” Boil sighed. “You know, I have binders, if we need them.” Wanda glared at him. Waxer may have been wearing a helmet, but his brother could tell he was doing the same. “What?”

The girl looked down sadly and pulled Wanda and Waxer by their hands, leading them to a house.

“What are we doing here anyway?” Boil questioned in annoyance as they walked inside, looking all around as they did.

Wanda’s heart dropped into her stomach as the realization set in.

“Oh.” She just stood there, staring at the poor girl. Boil sat down on a pile of rubble and took off his helmet. Waxer stood beside Wanda and did the same.

“I guess this was her home. Poor little thing. She lost it all,” Waxer said.

Wanda moved up to the girl and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. Waxer looked down to see a toy on the floor. He picked it up and whipped the dust off. Then he handed it to the child. That was all it took for her bottle up emotions to come pouring out and she began to cry.

“It’s okay now. We’re here to help,” Waxer offered.

The girl then rushed up and hugged him. He gently wrapped his arms around her in comfort. Wanda knelt down and joined in too, tears of her own spilling down her face.

“You understand what she’s going through,” Waxer stated after a moment. Wanda could only nod.

Elsewhere, Pietro looked down at the ruined village with a deep frown.

“Are you alright, Pietro?” Kenobi asked.

“No. Being here brings back some bad memories.”

“Perhaps discussing it would help?” the Jedi offered. Pietro was silent for a moment. Then he sighed.

“I was ten when it happened…”

“It was like any other night. Mom made dinner, and Dad came home with a few movies he would try to sell later,” Wanda said.

“He asked her to pick what we’d watch, and she’d always pick the same damn episode…” he chuckled.

“Pietro always complained about the Walnut episode. I think that’s part of why I picked it,” she laughed with a sniffle.

“But our country was in a brutal civil war. There was a battle going on outside,” Pietro’s mood darkened.

“Our home was caught in a crossfire. A bomb crashed into the room,” Wanda whipped away a few tears.

“It made a hole and our parents fell in,” he closed his eyes, trying his hardest to fight back the tears.

“We were trapped under the rubble and the bomb was right in front of us. We laid there for two days waiting for it to go off. But it was defective,” she finished. “All this… all this reminds me of that.”

Obi-Wan placed his hand on Maximoff’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry, Pietro.” They were silent for a minute. “So, let’s stop that from happening to anyone else.”

“Yeah,” the speedster nodded. “Let’s do that.”

Waxer looked at the woman in sympathy and Boil finally came over to help comfort the girl.

“Don’t worry, kid. We’ll keep you safe. I… I promise.” The girl went to hug him too. Boil had his hands up awkwardly for a moment before gently holding her.

“The men set, Cody?” Kenobi asked. The commander was silent. “What is it?”

“Waxer, Boil and Wanda are not responding. They never returned from scouting.”

“Say what, now?” Pietro questioned.

“That isn’t like them,” Obi-Wan stated. “They may have run into trouble.”

“I don’t think so,” Maximoff cut in. “If they did, we would have heard the destruction my sister would bring them.”

“You were worried about her five seconds ago,” Cody said flatly.

“I know I act that way, but honestly, I’m more worried about the droids.”

“We should still try to reach them. Sergeant, use the high powered transmitter,” the Commander ordered.

“Let’s get the rest of the men moving,” Kenobi said. “The others will catch up.”

Unfortunately for them, the probe droid saw the whole thing.

“They are on the move,” the tactical droid noted. He activated a communicator. “Sergeant, the attack is coming. Release the beasts and one of our special assets. It is time to execute my plan.”

“Roger, roger,” the droid said and opened the cells. The other droids poked them with electric prods and forced them out the other end of the hall. One of the special droids then ran with them.

“It’s the Commander,” Boil realized as their comms started beeping. “We’re way overdue. We’re gonna end up polishing R2 units!” Boil was about to answer when Waxer grabbed his arm.

“Wait. How are we gonna explain all this… Her?”

“Don’t you boys worry. I’ll handle it when we get there. Just say you were following my orders or something,” Wanda smiled.

“That’s a good plan.”

“It’s worth a try,” Boil agreed as the clones put on their helmets. “But mark my words, this will end badly.

The four walked back outside but halted when the girl hid behind Wanda.

“Gutkurr! Gutkurr!”

“What does…?” her question was answered when two beasts emerged from a street up ahead.

“I think I know why the kid never came back here,” Boil said dryly. The beasts snarled at them and the clones fired a few shots while Wanda got the kid back inside. “You see what happens when we don’t follow orders.”

“Let’s get out of here,” Waxer responded.

They ran back into the house just as Wanda left it. Her hands glowed red and she threw two concussive blasts at the creatures. The red balls of energy sent the animals flying back, crashing to the ground. But then they stood back up and roared with fury.

“These suckers won’t give up,” Boil complained.

“Wanda, you hold the door closed and we’ll use our guns,” Waxer said.

Maximoff nodded and closed the doors with her powers. The entire entrance was covered in a red shield that one of the creatures kept bashing into. The clones stood at the windows and shot where they could. It didn’t seem to be having any effect on the beasts though.

Then the girl ran to the middle of the room and began lifting a piece of tile. Underneath was a tunnel out of there.

Seeing their escape route, Waxer helped her lift it up and followed the child down there. Wanda and Boil were slower to join as one of the creatures came in through a hole in the roof. The clone fired some shots while the Avenger sent a wave of her powers. The two then jumped down the hole and closed the hatch over them.

Elsewhere, the rest of the company marched through the streets heading for the courtyard. That was when the rest of the beasts ran down towards them. The clones opened fire to little effect.

“They’re not stopping!”

“Aim for their eyes!”

“Look out! Look out”

“Fall back!” were the various screams as the clones retreated. Pietro dashed between them to pull the ones too close to the beasts from safety. Still, some were taken by the creatures.

In the distance, the tactical droid sat in the tank, holding a communicator with the projection of Wat Tambor.

“The Republic forces have been routed, Emir.” There was suddenly an explosion and smoke could be seen rising far away.

“What was that?”

“I calculate the remaining clones are attempting a desperate final offensive. Their chances of success against us are 742 to 1.”

“You had better be right.”

“I am a droid. I am always right,” he boasted.

Obi-Wan jumped over a beast as it ran for him. Despite Pietro’s efforts to keep the men out of harm’s way, the beasts were beginning to corner them. Seeing this, the Jedi reached out with the Force, and started influencing their minds. It worked, the creatures stopped attacking the clones and moved towards the General. He walked backwards into an alley.

Pietro got ready to dash when Cody placed an arm on his shoulder.

“No, wait.”

Kenobi kept leading them through the alley and passed underneath a bridge. The clones and Avenger watched on in fascination.

“Incredible,” one of them said.

“Can they all do that?” Maximoff asked.

“Shoot the bridge!” Obi-Wan ordered.

The men did as he instructed and fired their blasters upon the walkway. The stone crumbled and collapsed, trapping the creatures in the alley. Pietro was about to run in and get the Jedi when he leaped over the rubble and rejoined them.

“Huh. Have you people been holding back?”

“A bit,” Obi-Wan answered.

“Sir!” one of the clones called out and pointed down the street. Everyone looked to see a super battle droid.

“A single super? Is that the best they can throw at us? This is kinda… sad,” Maximoff stated.

“No. Something’s different about this one,” Cody noted.

“Be on guard,” Kenobi ordered, drawing his lightsaber.

The droid fired a few blasts at them. The company dodged out of the way and opened fire. However, when their blasts struck the super, they completely dissipated.

The clones paused in disbelief. That gave the droid its opening and it managed to gun down a few men. The Jedi jumped into the air and swung his saber high to cleave the droid in two. But when his blue blade made contact with the plating, it only made a ringing sound with some sparks. The lightsaber then shorted out and the blade dissipated.

Obi-Wan looked down at his weapon in surprise. The droid then grabbed him by the throat and flung him against a nearby wall. The stone cracked on impact and Kenobi hit the ground in a coughing fit.

“Keep your distance! The droid’s armored with Cortosis. It will absorb any blaster bolt!”

Unfortunately, Pietro had already engaged the automaton. He dashed at full speed and punched the droid right in the face. He realized this was a very poor decision as he collapsed to his knees screaming and held his hand. The speedster looked down at the appendage to see it dangling uselessly from the rest of his arm.

“Canada!” he cursed. Then he blinked. “I don’t know why I said that.”

The droid aimed the blaster on its arm at the Avenger. Pietro could see that while his attack had been consequential, he’d left a pretty big dent in the droid's armor.

Kenobi appeared to have noticed this as well, because he charged at the menace and bashed the but end of his saber into the dent. It seemed to deepen the wound, but the droid soon smacked the Jedi away.

“Left hook!” Pietro shouted and swung his left fist into the dent with all his speed. It worked, the dent became a gash, revealing the circuits inside. This also was a bad idea as he broke his left hand too. “Motherfucker!”

A blue blast then struck the droid in the gash and finally took it down. Obi-Wan and Pietro looked up to see Cody standing over them with his blaster smoking from the barrel.

“You two alright?”

“I’m fine, Cody. Good shot,” the General said, standing up. “Pietro?”

“Yeah~,” Maximoff drawled out, looking down at his hands. “I’m not doing too well.” The others winced at the sight.

“Do we have any medical supplies with us?”

“Nothing that can fix that before the assault,” Cody answered grimly.

“And there are likely more of those Cortosis droids.”

“This job just got a whole lot harder,” Pietro grumbled. “I should be fine by tomorrow, though.”

“Well, that’s some good news,” the Commander nodded.

Suddenly, there was a soft clanging. Everyone drew their weapons and aimed them at a shaking hatch in the street.

“Don’t shoot,” Obi-Wan ordered, sensing who it was.

The lid was pushed over to reveal Waxer climbing out. Then came Boil and Wanda. The clones saluted while the twins shared a smile.

“Waxer, Boil, where have you two slackers been?” Cody questioned with a clear edge in his voice.

“Sir, there is an explanation,” Boil said.

“We got sidetracked,” Waxer continued.

The young Twi’lek girl emerged from behind Boil and smiled shyly.

“I think I see what sidetracked you,” the Jedi smirked. He kneeled down in front of her. “Hello, little one.”

“She brought us here through the tunnels. Knows her way around them pretty good, sir,” Waxer reported.

“Loonala kwee jannweelo?” Kenobi asked the girl.

“You know that language?” Pietro asked.

“When you travel the Galaxy with Qui-Gon Jinn, you tend to learn a few things.”

“Ooh yana-yana. Wah nerra. Kumee nerra,” she answered, tugging on Boil’s arm lightly.

“The girl can lead us through the tunnel to the prisoners. Cody, we’re going to need a diversion.”

“We can handle it, sir. Wanda, we’ll need you to come with us to help with some armored droids.”

“What about Pie-” she stopped upon seeing her brother’s condition. “What the Hell happened to you?!” she shrieked, causing her brother to chuckle nervously and seat bullets.

“Okay, so… I may have made a mistake.”

“Clearly,” she crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. “But what happened?”

“Well, just to be clear, it worked.”

“What. Happened. Pietro?”

“I punched it and broke my hands.” His sister was silent for a moment. Then she started smacking his head. “Ow! What the heck?! That hurts!”

“Good.”

The others just watched on as they saw the Maximoff pecking order at work, not sure what to do. A few of them actually laughed.

“Nerra? Numa?” the Twi’lek girl pointed at the twins. Obi-Wan laughed and nodded.

After Wanda sent her brother to the camp to recover, the others went about their plan. Cody, Wanda and Ghost Company went off to distract the droids while Obi-Wan, Waxer and Boil followed the girl through the tunnels. That led them to the area where the creatures were previously kept, and they passed by the cells with as much silence as they could. In one of them, a droid was down on its knees, washing the floor.

“Yep, this is the worst job in the droid army.” There was the sound of a lightsaber humming and slashing from behind him. “Huh? What?” He saw Kenobi standing over dead droids with the Twi’lek girl in his arms. “And it just went into overtime.”

Obi-Wan used the Force to push the control button and close the cell.

“Bin-bin-kooneena,” the girl pointed to the courtyard up the stairs.

“I’ll take care of this. You keep her here,” the Jedi ordered and handed her to Waxer. He quietly went up the stairs to see the area filled with the prisoners. He gestured for the two clones to follow him and they did. But not before Waxer signaled for the girl to stay hidden. They were seen from the other end of the courtyard by Cody.

“There they are. Let’s go!”

Ghost Company emerged from their cover and fired upon droids and tanks in their way. Wanda casted a shield to block the incoming counterattack.

With the Separatists distracted, Obi-Wan and the two men with him ran onto the courtyard and attacked the guards. The Jedi sliced them in half and the clones gunned them down. Even after they were already dead. The Twi’lek looked at them in awe and began to rise up. Kenobi went to them and carefully used his saber to cut their binds.

The droid's fire against the red barrier intensified.

“How long can you hold it?” Cody asked as he shot at the droids.

“Only a few more minutes, but we won’t need it once the prisoners are out of danger,” Wanda answered with some strain as she held the shield against the tanks’ blasts.

“Wa-janell. Wa-janeel!” Obi-Wan said, ushering the Twi’leks to the tunnels. They followed him out but this did nt go unnoticed by one of the droids outside the courtyard.

“”Commander, we have a problem. Uh, the Jedi is freeing the prisoners,” he spoke through the comms. Hearing this, the tactical droid steered the tank he was in away from the battle and back to the courtyard.

Waxer and Boil fired on the droids that were returning to the area and the Twi’leks kept moving to the lower levels. The young girl smiled as the people from her village ran past her towards freedom. One of them then stopped and beamed at her. It was her father.

“Numa! Koma jel ree-kha!” He picked her up, smiled at Numa, and pulled her into a hug that she immediately reciprocated.

The tank that had stayed to attack Ghost Company kept firing at Wanda’s shield. Eventually it was too much and the explosion of one more blast was enough to send Wanda flying.

Three supers lead the enemy advancement as they opened fire on the clones. They shot their own blasts but they, like earlier, dissipated.

“More Cortosis droids! Stay back!” Cody yelled. He saw Wanda was still on the ground and ran to her. The clone grabbed her by the arms and gently lifted her up.

“Cody,” Kenobi spoke through the comms. “The prisoners have been safely removed from danger.”

“Understood, General.”

“Finally,” Wanda said, steadying herself and glaring at the Separatist forces. “Now I have no reason to hold back.” Her eyes glowed red and her tone sent chills down the clones’ backs.

Maximoff raised her hands and they were surrounded by the familiar red mist. The tank kept shooting at them but stopped when it was enveloped in red energy and lifted in the air. The droids stopped too and just stared at it.

“Uh, what do we do?” one droid asked.

“I don’t know. I’m not the Commander.”

Wanda then slammed the tank on the ground, crushin the Cortosis droids where they stood. Then she dragged it across the dirt to run down the rest of their opponents. The droids screamed in terrors and then there was silence.

The clones just stared at the Avenger in disbelief.

“I think I see what Pietro was talking about earlier,” Cody said.

“Waxer, Boil, come with me,” Kenobi ordered, drawing his blue blade.

“We’re with you, sir,” Boil nodded.

The three then ran for one of the cannons and cut the guarding droids to pieces. Obi-Wan even threw the pilot out with the Force. The clones put down their blaster, picked up a proton shell, and loaded it into the artillery. The Jedi sat in the cockpit of the cannon and aimed for the proton shells between two others.

“Ready, General,” Boil reported as the shell was loaded in.

He fired at his target. The explosion blew the cannons apart where they stood. Kenobi wasn’t done yet as he piloted the artillery for the remaining adversaries.

“Setting alpha five or six,” the droid in one of the cannons said. “Where's The override?!”

Obi-Wan shot the cannon in the side, causing it to veer off and shoot the other one.

Their luck seemed to run out though when the tactical droid arrived in his tank and fired at them. Kenobi leaped out just before the cannon exploded. The b;ast sent him and the clones crashing to the ground in pain.

Numa immediately ran from the lower levels to help them to their feet.

“Nerra?”

The other Twi’lek let out their own war cries and charged to aid their rescuers. Numa helped Waxer up and ran for the Jedi. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, accepting the help, but the two froze when they saw the tank’s barrel aimed just feet away from them.

“Hahahahaha!” the tactical droid laughed maniacally. “You lose, General Kenobi.”

Except he didn’t because the Twi’leks ran for the tank and began climbing up for the droid with murder in their eyes.

“Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not…”

Obi-Wan covered Numa’s eyes as they ripped the droid apart. Though that didn’t stop her from peaking. They threw the Separatist out of the tank and tore him limb from limb. As they help his arms, legs, and head, they looked up at the sky to see the Republic ships finally making their landfall.

The Republic army marched out of the Accalamators ready to liberate the planet. Windu walked alongside Rogers, Romanov, the Maximoffs, Cody and Kenobi.

“Great job getting rid of those cannons,” the Council member praised. “Now we have a more difficult objective. We must take the capital and free this world.”

“Sam and Viz just completed their mission. They’ll be joining us here by tomorrow,” Nat reported.

“Good. We’ll need them if we are to combat the Separatists’ many defenses.”

“Uh, what happened to Pietro,” Steve asked, looking at the Sokovian’s bandaged hands.

“Eh, I don’t want to talk about it,” the speedster responded.

“He was an idiot, that’s what,” Wanda grumbled. “And he knows how he’s going to make it up to me.”

“Please don’t make me watch the Walnut episode. Not again,” he begged.

“See you later, little one,” Waxer kneeled down to Numa and ruffled her head. He walked off to join the rest of the men.

“Hey, Numa,” Boil said, gaining her attention. “Stay out of trouble.” The girl then rushed up and hugged his leg. “Don’t worry. We’ll be back.”

The Maximoff twins saw this and smiled fondly. They waved goodbye to the young Twi’lek and she waved back.

“Nerra! Nerra! Nerra! Numa!”

“Sir, what is that she keeps calling us?” Waxer asked his General.

“Nerra. It means brother,” the Jedi smiled.

The clones halted in their movements and looked back at the girl with smiles on their faces. Waxer waved to her one more time before they started walking again.

“And “Numa”? What does that mean?” Wanda asked.

“Sister. She actually asked me if you two were siblings. I believe it was your bickering that gave it away,” the Jedi laughed.

The twins turned back to the girl and smiled.

“That kid just made my day and I didn’t even talk to her,” Pietro chuckled.

“Mine too.”

They smiled at each other and held hands.

“Alright. I think I can watch the Walnut episode one more time.”
