Note
This is something I've wanted to do for a while. There aren't nearly enough crossovers of the Clone Wars and the MCU. So I thought I'd correct this error. This is my first ever fanfiction. I hope to carry out my full plan for this story. And please enjoy the first chapter of Forces of Infinity.

Extraction

The mission on Teth to rescue Rotta the Hutt would determine the future of the Galaxy. Do to the previous actions of Natasha Romanov, the end of the Hutt’s slave trade had never been closer. The outcome of this mission would be the deciding factor between freedom and slavery.

-An excerpt from The Fight for Justice, by Luke Skywalker

Anakin’s Acclamator jumped out of hyperspace and emerged over the planet of Teth. A shuttle flew towards the ship and landed in the hangar. The scouts walked out and were greeted by Anakin and Steve.

“Lieutenant, did the kidnappers see you?” the former asked.

“No, sir. We’re the best scouts in the regiment.”

“What about the bounty hunters? Are they still down there?”

“I don’t think so. We haven’t seen them in a while.”

“What are we dealing with?” Steve inquired.

One of the scouts showed the pair a hologram of a structure on top of a mountain.

“Looks like at least two droid patallions protecting a monastery. It’s heavily fortified, sir, so you won’t be able to land there.”

“Good work. Get some rest,” Anakin ordered before walking off with Steve.

“It’s the Separatists,” the Avenger stated.

“Definitely,” the Jedi agreed.

“Why, though? The Hutts will become their enemies when they find out about this.”

He could only shrug.

The two noticed a group of Clones had gathered and walked over to join them. They watched in silence upon seeing that they were all staring at Ahsoka.

“That sounds like a lot. Even for a Jedi and Avenger,” one Clone said.

“I heard you were surrounded by droids. How did you ever get that shield down?” another asked.

“Okay, so there’s a wall behind him with a hole in the middle, so I pull the wall down on top of the droids, destroying them, and saving the general,” the Padawan boasted.

The soldiers laughed.

“Is that true, sir?” Rex asked Skywalker.

“That’s what Sam told me,” Steve said before Anakin could reply. This garnered another laugh from the men.

The Jedi Knight rolled his eyes. “All right, men, we still got a job to do.”

They promptly dispersed at that, with Anakin giving the Togruta a look.

“Would this be a good time to teach you that a Jedi is humble, my young Padawan?”

“Sorry,” she said, not at all sorry. “Just trying to keep the boys inspired, is all.” She looked at the Avenger. “Captain Rogers, I’ve been meaning to ask, who is this Black Widow I’ve heard about?”

Steve had a bittersweet smile. “Her name is Natasha Romanov. She is one of my original teammates. She’s an ex-assassin, and possibly the most lethal woman alive. But she’s also very compassionate for someone with her background.”

“Huh. When can I meet her?”

Cap frowned. “When we find her.”

“So, this is Tatooine,” Rhodey said as he looked upon the vast desert from the gates of Jabba’s Palace. “And the entire planet is this?”

“Yes,” Kenobi answered. “I have only been here once, and that was ten years ago. This is where my Master and I met Anakin.”

“Hold up. Are you telling me that Anakin is from here?”

The Jedi nodded.

“Jesus. I can’t imagine having to grow up here.”

“The first thing my Master did when we returned to Coruscant was take him to the Temple Garden. He’d never seen plants before in his life.”

“Like the Fremen,” Rhodey noted.

Obi Wan gave the Colonel a baffled look. “The who?”

“People from a very good book that I’ll introduce you to later.”

The gates opened and out walked a service droid with guards.

“We should not keep the wise and powerful Jabba waiting,” the droid said.

“We wouldn’t dream of it,” Kenobi responded.

As they followed the droid inside, Rhodey heard his earpiece activate.

“Rhodey.”

His eyes widened in stunned disbelief. “Na-”

“Don’t say my name. I’m not very popular around here.”

“It’s good to know you’re alive,” the Avenger whispered with pure relief.

“Same for you and the other boys. Any word on Wanda and Vis?”

“No. We don’t have any leads. But as far as we know, the Separatists don’t either.”

“Good. Because our bounties are getting higher and higher. I had to do a lot to convince Jabba not to turn me in.”

“Yeah? Then why are you hiding from him now?”

“Remember all those files on their slave trade that got leaked?”

Rhodey’s eyes widened and he let out a small laugh. “Of course that was you.”

“But I’m guessing since you didn’t bring more guys that you’re not here to arrest that slug.”

“No, but we’ll definitely talk about it. Rotta’s kidnapping has made Jabba desperate. He might agree to free his slaves without being held at gunpoint.”

“Then my timing was perfect. I have the main room bugged, so I’ll know if things go sideways and you need my help.”

The call ended and Rhodey turned to see Obi Wan giving him a questioning look.

“I’ll explain later.”

The two now stood before the Hutt, and the Colonel had to say, he really smelled. Probably never bathed a day in his life.

“Mighty Jabba, one of our most powerful Jedi is on his way to rescue your son. We will not let you down,” the Jedi affirmed.

“But you have to understand that your slaving operations will not continue. That is an integral part of this treat,” Rhodey stressed.

The slug spoke in Huttese and his droid translated, “The most gracious Jabba has one more small condition. He demands that you bring back the slime who kidnapped his little punky muffin. Dead or alive. If you do not succeed, Count Dooku and his droid army will.”

“All right, here’s the story. Jabba has given us only one planetary rotation to get his son back home to Tatooine safe and sound,” Obi Wan’s hologram told Anakin, Ahsoka, Sam and Steve.

“Won’t take us that long, Master.”

“Well, take extreme care. If the Separatists are holding Jabba’s son, as you theorize, then this whole thing could be a trap. When we’ve finished negotiations with him, we’ll join you.”

“There’s another thing,” Rhodey began. “Guys, we found Nat!”

The Avengers perked up at that.

“Where?!” Cap demanded.

“Right here on Tatooine.”

Sam and Steve shared a grin.

“Guess we’re killing two birds with stone,” Sam noted.

The gunships carrying the group flew towards the monastery.

“Stay close to me, if you can,” Anakin told his Padawan.

“It won’t be a problem, Master.”

“This isn’t practice, Ahsoka.”

I know. And I’ll try not to get you killed.”

There was a loud rumble as the ship shook.

“Sir, we’re taking heavy fire!” the pilot reported.

“Close the blast shields and get us under those guns!”

The ship went dark as the blast shields closed.

“Here we go,” the Padawan said.

As red light illuminated the area the Clones readied their rifles.

“Red light. Stand by.”

Steve tightened the strap on his shield.

“Welcome to paradise, rockjumpers,” the pilot said as they landed.

The light changed to green and the doors opened.

“Green light. Go! Go!”

Everyone ran out of the gunships and moved through the jungle towards the rock. Blaster fire rained down on them from the monastery. Republic tanks fired in retaliation.

“Follow me!” Anakin ordered.

Everyone ran for cover against the rock.

“Sam, I need you to out the droids shooting down at us. They’ll pick off the boys one by one if you don’t.”

“On it, Cao!” the Falcon said before unfurling his wings and soared to  the top.

The droids were startled to say the least.

“Who is that?”

“He’s not a Clone.”

“Is he a Jedi?”

“Guess again,” Sam said before pulling out his blasters shooting up the Spider-droids. “Cap, their artillery is down!”

Down below, the First Avenger nodded. “Copy that.” He turned to the others. “Start scaling the walls!”

There was a resounding “Yes, sir!”

“So, this is where the fun begins,” Ahsoka stated.

“Race you to the top,” Anakin challenged.

“I’m game,” Steve said.

“I’ll give you boys a head start.”

“Big mistake,” Skywalker smirked.

Cap and Anakin grabbed hold of some vines and began to climb.

“I’m right behind you, Master!”

The Padawan swung on a vine and landed on a Walker. Why climb when you can get a free ride.

The troops scaled the rock without a hitch. With the droids preoccupied there was no interference.

The droids surrounded Sam with their blasters aimed right at him.

“Surrender, Avenger!”

He raised his guns.

Steve smirked as he heard the droids’ screams and saw some fall off the edge.

Sam flew through the droids, decapitating them with his wings. He landed in the center of the courtyard.

“That’s all of them, Cap.”

Several Droidekas rolled in and trained their barrels on him.

“Spoke too soon.”

A large blue blast suddenly came in and blew them away. The aviator turned to see Ahsoka and the Walker she rode had arrived.

“I’ve got your back, Sam.”

“Thanks.”

She smirked as Steve and Anakin finally climbed up.

“Looks like I won.”

“Beginner’s luck,” the Jedi waved off.

Steve rolled his eyes good naturedly and patted her on the back. “Nice job, Kid.” Ahsoka beamed. “Good call using the Walker. Reminds me of what I did when I was in training.”

“What happened?”

“They would make us run laps around the base. But if we could climb this flagpole and get the flag, they’d give us a ride back to the barracks. Now I was scrawny back then, so there was no way I’d be able to climb that.”

Nearby Clones were now listening to the story as well.

“So what did you do?”
Steve smirked. “I pulled out a pin and the pole fell to the ground.”

They laughed at the simplicity.

“All right, that’s enough for now,” Rex cut in, though he was laughing too. “Everyone search for more droids!”

“I’ll have Redwing take a look.” The Falcon then launched the drone from his pack. It flew around and sent the feed of its camera to his goggles.

“Hold on. There’s a droid and somebody wearing a cloak.”

“Where?” Cap asked.

Sam pointed to a balcony above them. Everyone looked and saw them both.

Anakin stared at the cloaked figure. His eyes narrowed upon realizing who she was.

Ventress!” The assassin and the droid ran into the monastery. “That confirms it, then. This was the Separatists. Ahsoka, Sam, with me! Cap, the boys will need you if she comes their way!”

“They have taken the monastery, Master. Skywalker and two Avengers are here. They’re on their way to rescue the Hutt. And I’ve been seen.”

“A minor setback. All is still going according to plan.”

“I could easily take them now.”

“Patience. Collect the data I need. You will get your chance at revenge soon enough.”

Dooku cut off his transmission.

“Mistress, the Jedi and an Avenger have entered the dungeons,” a droid informed her.

Anakin, Ahsoka and Sam walked through the halls of the dungeons. There were droids hiding in some of the cells.

“Master, you know you’re walking us into a trap?”

“I know.”

“We just passed two more droids.”

“I know.”

“Well, I don’t like this. Can I just take care of them?”

“Have at it, Kid,” Sam answered.

Ahsoka turned around and whipped out her lightsaber. She blocked one bolt before slicing through their blasters. Then she cut the droids to pieces.

Anakin smiled. “Not bad. You remembered to destroy their weapons first.”

The Padawan smirked. “I’m improving your technique.”

Sam then pulled out a blaster and shot a droid behind Anakin. It screamed as it hit the floor.

“Of course, you did miss one.”

“I did that on purpose,” she lied.

The trio continued walking before stopping at a cell.

“I sense our kidnapped Hutt is in here,” Anakin said.

Ahsoka covered her nose. “Uh! I smell him, too.”

Skywalker opened the door and the three were greeted by the infant Huttlete. He let out a whine as he slid towards them.

“He’s a lot younger than I thought he’d be,” Anakin said.

“Who the hell kidnaps an infant?!” Sam exclaimed.

“Oh, he’s just a baby,” Ahsoka gushed. This will make our job a lot easier. Oh, he’s so cute!”

“Just wait until you see what he’ll grow into,” Anakin said snidely.

As soon as Obi Wan and Rhodey flew off in their starfighters a hooded figure walked into Jabba’s Palace. Natasha saw this from the ridge she stood on.

Now who’s this?

She pressed a button on her wrist gauntlet and activated the bugs she’d planted.

“Oh, great Jabba the Hutt, I have news of your son. I have discovered it is the Jedi who have kidnapped him.”

The Avenger’s eyes narrowed.

She heard Jabba speak.

“How have you come by this information?”

“I have my ways. More importantly, mighty Jabaa, I bring a warning. The Jedi are planning to destroy you.”

Jabba spoke again.

“The most wise Jabba demands proof.”

“And he shall have it.”

Romanov heard the sound of a hologram activate. There were sounds of wailing.

“Will you just let me do it?”

“I hate Hutts.”

There was more wailing, and Jabba let out the most angry noise she’d ever heard from him.

“As you can see, it is the Jedi who have your son, and are plotting against you.”

“Jedi poodoo!”

“My droid army has already initiated a rescue. Rest assured Jabba. Your son will be saved.”

Oh no.

“The mighty Jabba wishes to know what you ask in return.”

“Perhaps you would consider joining our struggle against the Republic. Not only will your son be returned to you, but your slave trade shall continue as well.”

You gotta be fucking kidding me!

“Did you locate Jabba’s son?” Kenobi questioned the group.

“We have him, and it looks like the Separatists are behind his abduction. This has Count Dooku written all over it.”

“I’m starting to think that this whole thing is a trap,” Steve said.

“They must be trying to get Jabba to join the Separatists,” Rhodey assumed.

“Master Kenobi,” Ahsoka began, carrying the baby in a backpack she wore in front of her. “We have another problem. This Huttlete is very sick.”

“The situation is lookin pretty bad,” Sam stated.

“The whole rescue may backfire on us. I still don’t think dealing with the Hutts is a good idea,” Anakin admitted.

“Anakin,” Steve began. “We have no other options. The Hutts control shipping lanes to our troops in the Outer Rim. Without their help those men will be Bantha fodder. And if we don’t get that treaty, then freeing their slaves will be a lot harder.”

Before Skywalker could respond…

“Master? We’ve got trouble!”

Several droid fighters and two transports were flying right at them.

“Defensive positions!” Rex ordered.

“Cap?” Rhodey asked nervously.

“We’re under attack! Get here as fast as you can!”

“We’re on our way!”

The transmission ended.

Cap turned to the others. “You three find a way out of here! I’ll stay with the boys and hold them off!”

“We’re not leaving you here!” Anakin exclaimed.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine! Now go!”

“You got it Cap!” Sam said as he grabbed Anakin and Ahsoka by the arms and flew off with them.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Where are we even going?!” Ahsoka screamed.

“There’s a spot on the other side where a gunship can pick us up!”

Steve, Rex and the others were now holed up behind the main door, waiting in anticipation.

“We won’t be able to stop them, Cap.”

“I know. But all we need to do is hold them off until our friends can escape.”

On the other side, two droids were trying to hotwire the door.

“The red one?”

“No.”

“The blue one?”

No! Not that one!”

The droids screamed as Ventress just cut through them all with her lightsaber.

“That’ll work.”

The door began to open.

“They’ve cut the lock!”

“Here they come!”

The opposing forces started firing at each other.

Steve ran in and started bashing heavier droids with his shield. He hurled it at the walls and it bounced between them, destroying any droid that walked through.

With the opening the Avenger had created, the Clones were able to lay down suppressive fire.

“Should we be worried about that shield?” one droid asked.

“I’m sure we’ll be fi-AAHHH!”

Those two were cut in half.

The tide was now in the Clones’ favor.

Ventress frowned deeply. This wasn’t going according to plan.

“Distract the Clones and that Avenger,” she ordered the droid Commander. “I’ll deal with Skywalker.”

“Roger, rog-ERRRRRRRR!”

The droid was cut to pieces by the shield, which was caught by one Captain America, who was standing a few feet away.

“So, you're the assassin Anakin told me about. Can’t say I’m impressed.”

“And you must be the famous Captain Rogers. I’m disappointed. I was hoping for a challenge, yet all I see is a man with a shield.”

“I’m more than just a shield.”

“Let’s find out.”

Ventress roared and swung her sabers at the Avenger, who raised his shield to block the attack.

A Venator exited Hyperspace and out of it came a squadron of fighters led by Obi Wan and Rhodey.

“Skywalker is in trouble. You know the drill,” Obi Wan said.

“Copy that, sir,” Odd Ball responded.

The squad broke through the atmosphere and were met by several Vulture-droids. Blaster fire exploded all around them.

“Anakin, do you copy? Anakin?! Come in!”

“Sam?! Steve?! I’ve got nothing as well.”

“They’re jamming our transmissions,” Kenobi surmised. “I hope the others are having an easier time than we are.”

The trio had finally reached the backdoor hangar. There was just one problem.

“I can’t get a hold of Obi Wan or Rex,” Anakin said in annoyance. “Can you reach Steve?”

Sam shook his head.

The Jedi pinched the bridge of his nose. “Where’s R2 when I need him?”

There was a beeping sound and they turned to see R2 now rolling onto the platform to them.

“Oh! There you are. Can you boost the signal of my comm?”

The astromech beeped in response and extended an antenna from his head.

The Huttlete whined at the Padawan.

“What is it, Stinky?”

The baby pointed across the jungle.

Ahsoka looked in that direction and smiled.

“Master! Sam! Another landing platform!”

“With a ship on it!”

“Nice work, Stinky.”

The two Jedi looked at Sam.

He released a long suffering sigh.

“General Skywalker!”

“I’m here, Rex. What’s your status?”

“We’ve taken few casualties, I’m happy to report.”

“Do you need assistance?”

“Don’t worry about us, General. We’ll be alright. The mission always comes first, sir.”

“There’s Vultures on my tail! I’m hit! I can’t shake them!”

“Hang on, Odd Ball! I’ve got you!” Rhodey said.

The Avenger piloted his fighter towards the pursuers. He spun in a barrel roll and opened fire. The lasers hit their marks and destroyed the Vulture-droids.

“Sorry I panicked, Colonel.”

“Don’t worry. It happens to everybody.”

His fighter shook and alarms flared in his cockpit.

“Ah, shit, I’ve been hit!”

“Systems compromised, Colonel,” the AI said.

“Good thing I’m wearing the suit.”

His helmet formed over his head and he flew out of the cockpit and into the sky.

Sam practically dropped his companions on the platform.

R2 landed

“You weren’t complaining when you carried us to that hangar,” Anakin chided.

“Yeah, well this was a lot farther.”

Ahsoka looked at the ship before them. “We’re taking this junker? We’d be better off on R2.”

“Get aboard and prime the engines,” her Master ordered. Then he mumbled, “Assuming it has engines.”

“You know I can hear you, right?” Sam asked.

“I’m sure we’ll be fine,” he said to both Sam and himself.

Ahsoka walked to the ship and found a protocol droid.

“Hey! Sorry, but we need to borrow your ship.”

“Oh! I’m afraid I can’t let you! I have to…”

A few battle droids emerge from the ship.

“Okay, everything’s loaded. Let's get out of…here.”

The Padawan activated her lightsaber.

“Blast her!” the protocol droid ordered.

The droid tried to shoot her but she deflected their blaster bolts.

Anakin, Sam and R2 looked to see her fighting the droids.

“She’s at it, again,” the Jedi noted plainly.

“Let’s just get out of here.”

Ahsoka cut through the last of the droids and raised her saber to the leader’s head.

“Don’t you dare!”

She cut off its head and it fell at her companions’ feet.

“Don’t…you…dare.”

They just stepped over it. R2 knocked it aside on the way up.

Steve blocked another strike from the Dathomirian. Then went in to sweep her legs.

She jumped over him and force pushed him while she was in the air.

The Captain went flying and crashed against the wall.

As he made impact, his compass fell out of his pocket and rolled towards the assassin’s feet. She picked it up and opened it, seeing the photo.

“Now who is this?”

Steve’s eyes narrowed as he got back up. “Give that back right now.”

“Oh! Is she someone important to you? Perhaps I should pay her a visit?”

He placed his shield on his back and raised his fists.

Ventress smirked viciously and sprinted at the Avenger. She swung her sabers overhead to strike him down…

Only for him to catch both her arms in a tight grip.

The Acolyte snarled as she tried to break free.

Steve tightened his grip and she dropped her lightsabers. They deactivated as they clattered to the floor.

It was at this point that Ventress started to panic. But before anything more could happen, a blaster bolt struck Cap in the leg, causing him to fall to his knees.

The assassin took this opportunity and kicked him in the face.

He fell flat on his back.

She force pulled her lightsabers to her and tried to stab him.

Then a blast bolt struck her in the shoulder.

She turned to see the Clone Captain running in their direction and firing at her. She blocked the blasts but was kicked away by the Avenger.

Steve staggered as he got up.

“You dropped this, Sir,” Rex said, holding to him the compass.

“Thanks, Rex.” He took it back and carefully placed it in his pocket.

“Don’t mention it.”

The two heard clicking sounds and turned to see that they were now surrounded by several droids.

“Huh, guess we got separated from the others and they're taking advantage of it.”

“Surrender, Republic dogs!” one droid shouted.

“We’ve got you outnumbered!” Rex responded.

“Outnumbered? Wait. One, two, three…”

The droids were struck by a volley of blaster fire. The two looked up to see War Machine hovering up above firing his rotary cannon.

Obi Wan then jumped out of his starfighter and started swinging his saber as he landed.

“Where’s Skywalker?” the Jedi inquired.

“Don’t know, sir. Best guess is that he’s still in the castle.”

“Keep fighting the droids! We’ll go find him!”

Obi Wan and Steve ran into the castle and saw Ventress standing there with her lightsabers drawn.

“Master Kenobi. Always chasing after Skywalker. How predictable.”

“Anakin leaves quite a mess. Which always leads me to you, Ventress.”

The Jedi shifted into his signature Form Three stance.

Steve raised his shield.

The assassin ran to another room.

“Well, that was anticlimactic,” Cap stated.

Kenobi snorted.

They walked into the other room. It was circular with pillars all around it.

“Which one is she hiding behind?”

The trio sat in their seats with Anakin as the pilot.

“Now let’s get stinky out of here.” He pressed the start button but the engine struggled to start. “Uh, if we can.”

He kept pressing the button over and over again with the same results.

“Stinky is turning every shade of green except the one he is supposed to be! If we don’t get this thing off the ground-”

“Relax, Snips. R2, see if you can spark the ignition couplers.”

R2 moved towards the terminal at the back and tried just that.

It didn’t work.

“No, that’s not it. Try lifting the fuel lifters all the way.”

The droid did as instructed and the ship flared to life.

“Good work, Buddy,” Anakin said with a smile.

With the engine now working, Skywalker piloted the ship towards the monastery. There were a lot of explosions.

“Master Kenobi is here. Now we’ll see some real fireworks.”

Sam chuckled at Anakin’s annoyed look.

“Excuse me? What do you call what I’ve been doing all day?”

“I don’t know. The word ‘reckless’ comes to mind.”

Sam laughed and patted the girl on the back.

Very funny, Snips. Back to work. We need to get to the Jedi Cruiser.”

“Ventress, I know you’re here. You can’t hide,” the Jedi said to the room at large. “I feel your frustration. Let me guess, you’re after Jabba’s young son, too.”

The duo heard a grunt above them and looked up to see the assassin coming down with her sabers raised.

Obi Wan blocked her attack and pushed her away. She landed gracefully but was smacked aside by Rogers.

“You’ll have to do better than that, my darling,” Obi Wan said.

Cap gave the Jedi an incredulous look. “Are you flirting with her?!”

He had the decency to look sheepish. “Well…not exactly.”

While they were distracted, Ventress had gotten back up and leaped at the two. Steve raised his shield and she used it as a platform to jump off of. Then she smacked Kenobi’s lightsaber out of his hand.

“Well, now I’m impressed,” the Jedi quipped.

She swung her blades at him, with him dodging each swing. Unfortunately she’d backed him into a corner.

“Now you die.”

Then Cap hurled the shield right at her. She jumped out of the way and nearly hit Obi Wan. Luckily, using his telekinesis to slow it down, he managed to catch it. His eyes widened upon holding it.

“It’s surprisingly light.”

Steve grinned. “Want to use it for a bit?”

Obi Wan lifted his lightsaber off the ground with the Force and tossed it to the Captain. He ignited the blue blade as they turned to Ventress.

“Shall we continue?” Kenobi taunted.

“My pleasure,” she said before meeting the shield and lightsaber with her own.

“Master, today I did my best to stay calm, focused, and when I did, everything seemed so easy.”

The ship shook, causing the baby to yell. They broke through the clouds and were met with a massive dogfight.

“Shit,” the Avenger cursed.

“Well, get focused, ‘cause things just got a lot harder.”

Anakin weaved through the lasers and starfighters.

“All we’ve gotta do is land on that Jedi cruiser,” Anakin said like it was the easiest thing in the world.

“Aren’t the deflector shields up?” the Avengers asked indignantly.

A turbo laser from the Venator fired at their ship. Their aim was accurate and the ship shook from the impact.

“Crap. They think we’re Separatists.”

“Jedi cruiser, hold your fire!” Anakin shouted into the comms.

“Incoming ship, identify yourself.”

“This is General Skywalker. We have Jabba the Hutt’s son. He needs medical attention. We have to board immediately.”

“Stand by.”

“Stand by?” Ahsoka rolled her eyes. “That’s helpful.”

The ship shook as they were fired upon by Vulture-droids.

“Hang on!” Anakin shouted as he tried to shake them.

Sam groaned and Ahsoka screamed.

“You know,” the Falcon began. “I think I now know what Obi Wan has been talking about!”

“Not helping, Sam!”

“General Skywalker, we think we can lift the shields on the lower rear hanger.”

The Jedi grinned. “We’re on our way.”

The Vulture droids broke off their attack.

“We’ve made it! We’ve made it!” Ahsoka exclaimed.

Then the droids shot up the hangar, causing it to explode.

“That changes our plans!” Anakin tugged on the controls and moved the ship away from the explosion and under the Venator. “Looks like we’re gonna have to take this bucket of bolts all the way to Tatooine.”

“We know what you’re trying to do. And you won’t win,” Steve said as he parried one of Ventress’ strikes.

“We will when the truth dies with you both.”

She lunged at the Captain and received a smack to her side from Kenobi swinging the shield. This caused her to stagger, leaving her open for the Jedi to throw the shield at her. It hit her with so much force that she went flying out the window.

The duo jumped out to find her and finish this fight.

Anakin had managed to pilot the ship away from the battle and now their path was clear.

“We’re clear to make the jump to Hyperspace. R2, program the navicomputer.”

“I don’t think he’s gonna make it, Master. There’s gotta be something we can do for him.”

“See if there's any medical supplies in the back,” Sam said.

“I’m on it.”

Ahsoka walked out of the room.

The Huttlete wailed softly.

Anakin gently placed his hand on his head.

“Don’t die on us now, little guy. Just hang in there. If you’ve locked the coordinates, R2, let’s go.”

R2 beeped in confirmation. Skywalker pulled a lever and sent the ship into Hyperspace.

Obi Wan and Ventress paused in their fight. Steve sent them confused looks.

The Jedi had a smug grin. “I sense it, too. Anakin’s gone. You’ve failed, Ventress.”

Steve smiled triumphantly. “What’d I tell ya? You won’t win.”

The assassin tried to attack them, only for Cap to swipe her sabers away, and Kenobi to hit her in the face with the shield. She crashed to the floor of the bridge they stood on.

She pressed a button on her wrist.

“There’s no point in continuing to fight. Surrender,” Steve implored.

A Vulture-droid flew towards them, Ventress jumped onto it and escaped.

Obi Wan began to stroke his beard in frustration.

“At least Anakin, Sam and Ahsoka got the Huttlete out of here,” Steve said.

“Yes. There’s hope for us, yet.”
