Summary
After witnessing a moment between two of your closest friends, Thor seems distracted, and it scares you.

“Y/N?” Thor’s voice came into the room before he did. Adrienne and T’Challa turned at the sound, and Adrienne turned back to watch Y/N light up. Jumping up from her seat on the couch, Y/N ran to greet him. Laughing, Thor easily caught her in his arms and held her close. Adrienne gave her husband a knowing look and smiled.

“Hey, if you two don’t stop it we just might have to head back to Wakanda.” T’Challa called to the two, wrapping his arm around his wife. Thor placed Y/N back on the ground, but kept a hand around her waist. Y/N looked at her old friend and narrowed her eyes.

“Oh, please. Like you two are any better.” She fought back a chuckle. They all knew that was bull. T’Challa and Adrienne were the definition of reserved in public. The fact that he had his arm around her shoulder right now was probably a testament to the effect Thor had had on him. Adrienne felt T’Challa tense and begin withdrawing his arm.

“Oh, no you don’t!” She exclaimed, leaning further into him and wrapping his arm fully around herself. “And you,” Adrienne turned to Y/N and hissed, “Leave the poor man alone.” Y/N bit the inside of her cheek and grinned playfully.

“I’m sorry, Cha Cha.” She said, perching on one of the ottomans. He winced at the old nickname.

“Please do not call me that, Y/N.” He sighed with exasperation. Adrienne looked at Y/N and narrowed her eyes. Opening her mouth to speak, she was cut off by Thor.

“You’re making him uneasy.” Thor whispered to Y/N, pulling her onto his lap roughly. Adrienne smiled with satisfaction at the flustered look on her friend’s face.

“No more so than you’re doing to me.” Y/N muttered to herself. Adrienne shook her head with a smile.

“Oh!” Her hand flew to her stomach. T’Challa looked at her with concern and quickly placed his hand over her own.

“What is wrong?” He leaned closer to her ear for privacy. Adrienne removed her hand and placed his firmly on her stomach. Turning to look into his face she gave him a warm smile. T’Challa’s eyes widened and he looked at her growing stomach. “I feel something.” Adrienne returned his gesture and leaned up towards his ear.

“Our miracle.” Losing the sense of time and space they sat there, hands linked and foreheads touching.

“Thor, let’s give them some privacy.” Y/N turned to look at Thor, only to freeze when she saw his eyes had been trained on their friends. “Thor?” She waived a hand in front of his face. When he didn’t respond she rolled her eyes and stood to her feet. “Come on.” She tugged on his hand as hard as she could. This caught his attention.

“Y/N?” He blinked up at her. She flinched at how loud his voice was compared to the former silence. Glancing over at her friends she sighed when she realized they hadn’t noticed, she turned back to Thor, and with a finger on her lips motioned for them to go. Thor pulled himself to his feet and followed her lead. Once they were outside, Thor ground to a halt. Y/N had still been pulling his hand, so she went flying back into his solid form. “Are you okay?” He steadied her with a hand on her waist.

“Are you okay?” She narrowed her eyes in concern, tilting her head to consider him.

“Yes, of course.” He smiled. She frowned. His smile faltered. She wasn’t buying it.

“Don’t lie to me, Thor son of Odin.” Her voice had taken on a grave air. Thor ran a hand over his hair and sighed.

“I have many things on my mind, Y/N.” Glancing down he noticed she’d gone pale.

“Is one of those things us?” Thor had to incline his head to hear her, the words came out so softly. She looked at him soberly. “If you don’t want to be with me, just tell me.” He flinched at her harsh tone. Y/N backed away slightly, but Thor stopped her with his hands on her shoulders.

“Y/N, look at me.” He cupped her jaw with his hands and tilted her head up to meet his gaze. She stubbornly looked anywhere but at him. With a groan, Thor leaned down and waited. Letting out a huff, she folded her arms and met his gaze, setting her jaw. When he caught her eye, Thor ran his thumb over her cheek bone. “I am a prince of Asgard, born to rule a kingdom, protector of the nine realms.” Y/N rolled her eyes.

“I am well aware of your many titles and responsibilities, Thor.” He chose to ignore her biting tone, and instead gave her a stern look of his own. Her eyes softened. “I’m sorry.” Shaking his head, he held her chin in his fingers gently but firmly.

“No, I am sorry.” Her eyes widened and shot up to meet his. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “If after the time we have been together you still cannot see that in my eyes you are the loveliest and sweetest creature in all of the nine realms that I have traveled, then I am unworthy of you.”

“Thor.” Y/N reached up and anchoring a hand into his hair, stepped closer and looked into his eye. “I don’t think either of us is more or less worthy enough for each other. Okay,” She closed her eyes and bit back a smile. “I lied. I definitely think you’ve classed down to be with me.”

“And therein lies my fault.” He pressed his forehead to hers.

“Then exchange thy fault with mine.” She whispered, framing his jaw with her other hand, before wincing. “Oh, that was bad wasn’t it.” Thor grinned before gripping her hair and kissing her soundly. Pulling back, she rested her forehead on his shoulder and released a shaky chuckle. “It occurs to me.” Leaning back, she looked at him mischievously. “That we should communicate more often.

“I think I agree.” He chuckled. She looked at him seriously and cocked a brow.

“But we are still going to have a serious conversation.” Thor paled.

“Yes, ma’am.”
