SWORD vs SWORD
A few hours later, Izuku and the rest of the SWORD agents assembled at the UA training grounds, the ground was empty aside from a few cameras that were broadcasting the battle to the SWORD base.
"Welcome everyone. This is Gym Gamma." Nezu's voice can be heard greeting the agents. "This is UA's largest training ground. We reserve this for second and third year students as they prepare their ultimate moves and train for the licensing exams. However, today it will be used to settle some sort of internal conflict, as I've been led to believe.
"15 minutes to prepare." Fox tells all the agents as they all separate into groups. "You are allowed to use our powers but as always, no killing or permanent damage to anyone."
The Angels walked up to Squadron Omega. "Yo!" Sabina greets them.
"Mind if we join in?" Rachel asks them. "The 7 of us against them? I wouldn't want to fight you guys, Denki would be sad if we beat his ass." She jokes.
Izuku nods. "Can we trust you with aerial support in that case?" He asks them.
"I don't know, can you defeat me in a one-on-one battle?" Sabina asks the man rhetorically. Izuku smirks under his mask as Denki leaps towards Rachel.
"Alright! I don't have to worry about hurting you then!" Denki exclaims as the group discuss their plan.
"Really? That's it?" Rachel asks them.
"Yeah. We hit 'em hard and we hit 'em fast." Ochako exclaims. "Best way to take them out. And sprinkle taunts into the fray whenever you can. It should get you an opening."
"That won't work with everyone." Sabina answers.
"It doesn't matter. We won't need that long. Even if one of them grabs onto the taunts, it would spoil their whole synergy." Ochako tells them. "Especially for the bigger groups."
"She's right. No matter what you do, they've read the same books as us, learnt the same techniques as us and have similar training as us, so using any textbook maneuver is out of question. The only goal is to stay in the fight for as long as you can. That's the point here." Izuku tells them. The group nods. "Alright then. We all know each other's preliminary targets. Let's show them exactly why we're Squadron Omega. And the Angels." Izuku tells them as the group nods in agreement. "Alright, weapons check!" He exclaims as he tightens his shield, the true Shield, on his arm and checks Muramasa's presence on his hip.
Ochako activates her batons to check if they're working before deactivating them and checking the compressed staff kept on her waist as well as feeling her suit for the hidden knifes she had stashed away.
Fumi checks the edge on his Kokutan before sheathing it. He then flexes his hands to check his claws before retracting them. Denki charges his mace before absorbing the electricity back and places it over his shoulder, ready to fight. The two Angels quickly check their own gear as Fox lets them know that it was almost time.
"And try not to use your ultimates everyone." Izuku tells the rest of the members of his squad. The trio nod as Ochako puts her fist in the middle, prompting others to do the same.
"Everyone to the center of the arena! We will begin shortly." Fox announces as the various groups all walked from their circles around the arena and stood around the sides of the central arena.
"Agents, it's go time." Fox answers as the group charges at each other. Chaos ensued as almost everyone ran towards Izuku and his group.
Smirking under his mask, Izuku and Denki take the lead, leaping forward as Izuku performs a thunderclap to disorient the opponents while Denki brought down a massive bolt of electricity to act as a flashbang. The moves allowed Ochako to toss pieces of rocks charged with energy at them without worrying about them dodging. As the rocks hit random targets in the arena, some of the more experienced agents dodged the attack and leapt into action.
"Phoenix is Mine!" Excalibur yells as he easily slices through the rocks, making a beeline for Fumi who drew Kokutan and met the man halfway. Kokutan and Excalibur's Osmanthus Blade, clashed, sparks releasing everywhere around the two.
"New sword? What happened to Red Rose?" Fumi asks the man.
"It broke. Had to get it replaced." Excalibur tells him,
"I liked Red Rose. It was really good looking. Though it clearly was wasted on you." Fumi taunts Excalibur. Nearby, Izuku and Ochako faced the A Force. "You know what they say about swordsmen who break their swords." He taunts.
You would assume that the duo would be at a disadvantage fighting a team of 6 individuals with well trained quirks and amazing synergy to go along with it. However, this was Dragon and Tiger, duos that managed to keep up with the entirety of the team with relative ease, using their moves to distract and attack the group.
"WHY YOU!!" Excalibur exclaims as he draws his second sword while keeping Fumi at a distance with Osmanthus Blade.
"Glad to see Blue Rose is still alright." Fumi tells him as they clash once again, crossing blades. They leapt back to dodge a stray lightning bolt that Nova had deflected while fighting Kaminari.
"Two Sword Tower Climb!" Excalibur exclaims as he slashes upwards with his blades. Fumi smirks as he falls into his shadow. dodging the attack before they could reach him and reappears behind Excalibur, his blade on Excalibur's neck with the edge pointing towards the mans shoulder.
"Yield." Fumi tells him. "Or I will cut your arm off at the shoulder."
"You wouldn't dare to." Excalibur tells him as he reverses his grip on Blue Rose and tries to stab Fumi.
Fumi grabs the blade with his free hand, stopping it from reaching his body. "Well, I warned you." Fumi tells the man as Kokutan slowly turns black. "Dark Equinox." Fumi mutters as he brings down the blade on Excalibur's left shoulder, slicing off some of the muscle and exposing the bone underneath.
"You missed." Excalibur tells him as blood flows out of the wound. He gets up, holding Blue Rose in his good hand.
"And you still don't get the point of Dark Equinox." Fumi sighs as he sheath's his blade, walking away from the man. "I'm not explaining it for a second time to you." Fumi tells him as he continues to walk away.
"DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME!" Excalibur yells as he tries to lunge at Fumi only for him to fall onto the ground, his wound covered in umbra matter. The man screams in pain as his wound turns black. (I thought of calling it Dark Matter but then I didn't want people to confuse it with the astrophysics concept.)
"Someone get Excalibur out of the ring. He's out." Fox says as a small green portal opens below Excalibur and he falls through it, hitting the floor near the medics with a soft thud. Once out of the arena, Fumi dispels the effect of Dark Equinox, causing the wound to bleed onto the floor. "Next time please find a more dignified way to get them out of there." Fox tells the Medic Teleporter.
"Sorry sir. But that is the fastest and least dangerous way. Opening the portal in any other form would interfere with the fight in some way or form." The Teleporter responds as he taps on the tablet in his hand and scans the injuries on Excalibur.
"Fine." Fox sighs as he turns back to the fight. "Get him to the medbat." He tells the agents, not turning away form the fight. The teleporter nods in response, teleporting Excalibur away to Peak.
With Ochako and Izuku, who were fighting the A-Force.
"For a group of 7, you guys really know how to coordinate attacks." Ochako tells them as she blocks Kevin's kick, parrys Kira's punch and counters Azula's haymaker in quick succession. "But that's the problem with you guys. You're too many people in a team. It makes things a bit more predictable."
"Does this bitch ever shut up?" Azula asks no one in particular, angered at the fact that she was just punched in the face.
"Call me a bitch one more time I dare you." Ochako threatens as Kevin dashes at Ochako, absorbing the concrete below his feet as he ran towards her.
Leaping into the air, "EAT THIS YOU BITCH!" He yells as he tries to spike Ochako.
Smirking Ochako holds her hands out creating a field of Zero Gravity around her that stopped Kevin mid-air. "I hope you've got your will ready. Because this is now your funeral." She tells them as she walks towards Azula and Kira, pulling Kevin by the leg.
In the observation area, Abigail looked at Fox in shock as they saw Ochako's new ability in action.
Kevin tries to move mid air but is instead used as a battering ram and thrown into Kira and Azula. He slams into them causing the three of them to fall over. Kevin's increased weight in his 'concrete' form combined with the force of the throw from Ochako was enough to knock Azula and Kira out on impact. Kevin however, managed to survive the attack and tried to get up.
"Have you ever tried shock therapy? If not, here's an example of how it feels." Ochako tells them as she slams both her batons into Kevin, releasing all the electricity that was stored in them, shocking all three of them. The batons flicker a little as the charge is depleted rather quickly. "That's it?" She mutters as she switches the batons off. "These batons are shit!"
Just as Kevin tries to get up, having survived the shock therapy, he is kicked in the side by Ochako.
"Stay down. I'm sure Abigail wouldn't want to see you get hurt more than this." She tells him as she chops the back of his neck, knocking him out.
While Ochako fought Kevin, Kira and Azula, Izuku found himself busy with the rest of the A-Force. He often found himself constantly dodging concrete projectiles and telekinetic attacks.
Akira stood back waiting for Izuku to make a mistake. Waiting for him to lower his guard so he could come in and knock out the infamous Dragon. Izuku knew this. He had read Akira's files just like everyone else. Akira was the A-Force's finisher. He waited for the perfect opening and delivered a one hit KO. They had a near perfect record much like Squadron Omega thanks to the man's quirk. A one hit knock out ability that had destroyed a fleet carrier on impact.
This was why Izuku was careful while fighting the trio. Dodging another one of Rex's projectiles, he found an opening against the man and dashed to use it. Drawing out Muramasa, he slashed clean through Rex's Grenade Launcher styled Construct. The pain knocks Rex out of the fight as he screams in pain. He was teleported out of the arena before Izuku could continue with a second attack.
"Ashura. The base." Izuku mutters as he activates Ashura's first form and leaps at Roth who immediately conjured a shield to protect herself from the oncoming attack. He lands on the shield that Roth had created and cracks it with a clean blow at the apex.
"First Stance! Fist of the Black Turtle!" He exclaims, "Ballistic Fist!" He says as he uppercuts Roth straight out of the arena, knocking her out and removing her from the fight in a single move.
"Continental Fist!" Izuku hears Akira mutter as the man finally enters the battle, having flash stepped close to Izuku while he was distracted. Red energy swirled around his right fist as he was about to punch Izuku.
Izuku smirks as he takes a stance, ready to counter. "Second Stance! Phoenix Kick!" Izuku exclaims as Akira gets close to him with the punch. The destructive force of the punch being re-directed towards the ground from the Phoenix Kick created tremors that shook the entire training ground.
Ochako, who had moved from the A-Force to Artemis, turned towards Izuku as the tremors started. Rolling her eyes, she collected energy in her fist and punched the ground, dodging a bullet from Artemis as she did so. Releasing the energy into the ground, she countered the tremors and cancelled them before they could damage the building they were in.
"Focus on the person in front of you!" Artemis yells at her as she rapid fires multiple bullet at Ochako that the girl barely dodges.
As She dodges one of the bullets, it grazes her upper arm, tearing through the cloth she was wearing. "You wanted my attention, you've got it now!" Ochako tells her. "No one tears my clothes!" Ochako says as she dashes towards Artemis, energy swirling around her, floating the rubble as she ran.
Kaminari, who was still stuck fighting Nova was knocked to the ground from the initial tremors and was forced to activate his Living Lightning state to get away from Nova's blasts.
"So you pulled out the big guns?" Nova asks him.
"Well, it was either that or get a sun burn." Kaminari responds as he grabs his mace, flickers behind Nova and slams it into his back, knocking Nova to the ground.
"You lab rat!" Nova curses as he get up and flies back over to Kaminari. "You will pay for that!" He exclaims as he charges another blast of stellar light.
Kaminari flickers away once again, appearing a few seconds later quite far from Nova.
"Will you stop running!" Nova yells as he releases the attack at Kaminari only for him to flicker away again. The stellar light continued down its path, heading towards Izuku and the A-Force.
"Who said I was running?" Kaminari asks him as he appears next to Nova. The man watches as the stellar blast hits the Akira knocking him out while Izuku managed to dodge the attack. With it's final member knocked out as well, the A-Force was now also out of the match. Izuku gives Kaminari a quick thumbs up before dodging a dropkick from Conner.
"You bastard! You made me attack the other agents!" Nova yells at Kaminari.
"I just used physics Nova." Kaminari responds. "You use light. And you know what its drawback is? Unlike my lightening, your light naturally travels in a straight line!" He tells Nova as he dashes towards Nova, zig-zagging his way towards him before slamming his mace down on Nova's shoulder, sending the man down to the ground. "And that's why I win."
Nova tries to get up but the residual electricity from the attack acts as an aftershock and knocks him out.
"Hey! Lightning Ass!" Kaminari hears Maverick yells as he gets shot in the back with what he recognized as rubber. "Why don't we have a little shoot out?"
Kaminari lands on the ground, lightning flicker as the rubber bullets tried to absorb his electricity. "Rubber bullets? I thought we graduated to real ones years ago." Kaminari tells Maverick. "But I guess a shootout won't hurt." Kaminari says as he draws a pistol at Maverick.
Maverick smirks as he holds aims his gun at Kaminari. "A pistol? Really? This will be your dem- AHHHHH!!!" He exclaims in pain as blood spurts out of his knee. "You bitch!" He cusses.
"What? You were the one to point the gun man. Anyway. I've got others to fight. Bye." Kaminari tells Maverick as he grabs the rubber balls that had fallen down and chucks them at Maverick, knocking the man out. "What do you know. Rubber balls are decent projectiles."
"Looks like its down the last 12." Fox notes.
"This is boring. I can't even cheer for Izuku and the others." Abigail comments, a small frown on her face as she watched the fights. "Why is Omega holding back on some of the fights?"
"Probably because they don't want to hurt the other agents." The agent with a tiger mask says. "That was what Fox had instructed afterall."
"Since when was Ochako able to create that field around her?" A woman with a panda mask asks them.
"That's the first I'm seeing of it." Fox tells her. "Maybe she made a new move recently?"
"I'll look into it." Panda sighs. "And now Artemis is down too...." She comments as Ochako uses the end of her baton to deflect one of Artemis' bullets, before dashing towards her and using one of her many hidden knifes to stab her palm with a knife preventing her from pulling the trigger.
"They are getting really good with their abilities." Tiger comments. "Though I guess that's what you get when your supervised by the best agent in SWORD." He answers as he puts a hand around Fox.
"Trust me, they do all the work. I'm only responsible for green lighting their training and their missions." Fox answers. "But they have shown quiet the exponential growth since the experiment. 15 missions since they became Squadron Omega. And all missions had the main objectives achieved. With minimal losses."
In the arena, united once again, Izuku and his team clash with the Raven Trio, Spectre and Conner with the Angels providing them with support from the air.
Ochako and Fumi engaged the Raven Trio with some help from the Angels, Kaminari was up against Spectre while Conner and Izuku were duking it out in the middle of the arena.
Fatigue had started to set in from having used a lot of their energy against the other agents. And it was rather visible. Especially to Izuku.
"Ochako, Denki, Fumi. Time to pack up!" Izuku yells as the group smirks.
"Energy Guardian/Shadow Monarch/ASHURA DEMON BANE!!" They exclaim while Izuku leaps away from Connor and pushes Ashura further.
"Ashura! Demon Bane!" He exclaims as his skin start to turn red and steam starts to billow off his body. The group dashed towards their opponents, Ochako grabbing the compressed staffs from her waist and using its decompression to attack the eldest of the Raven Siblings.
The staff gets blocked and tossed away with ease by the eldest. "That failed pretty badly." She says.
"You'd think that. But this couldn't be going any better." Ochako responds as she leaps into the air, meeting the airborne staff and kicks it towards Izuku. "RAILGUN!!" She yells to get Izuku's attention.
Izuku smirks under his masks as he kicks Connor in the chest, pushing him away and leaping off him at the same time to meet the staff midway through it's trajectory and kicks it back at the Raven Trio. "True Railgun and..." He says as he looks back at Connor. "Monster Serpent Strike!" He exclaims as he raises his leg and performs an ax kick, barely missing Connor.
"You've gotten better at that technique." Connor tells him. "But you really should stop yelling out the names of the attacks like that. It's unbecoming of a SWORD agent."
"Yeah well if we stop doing that then the readers will get confused." Izuku responds.
"What?" Connor asks him.
"What?" Izuku replies as Connor is tackled into the ground by a falling Spectre. "Nice one Denki."
"That was a fluke. But for the purpose of this match. Let's call it a calculated move, shall we?" Denki tells him in a distorted voice.
"Fluke my ass." Spectre says as he tries to get up, his body twitching from being so close to Denki for so long.
"Stay down!" Izuku says as he kicks Spectre in the stomach knocking him out. "You too Connor. Sorry you weren't able to show much of your strength, but this is about our respect amongst the other agents as much as it is a showcase of our strengths." Izuku apologizes Connor as he knocks him out with a quick chop to the back of the neck.
"There's just one group left now." Izuku says as the quartet turns to the two Ravens that stood in front of them with their third sister being knocked out by Izuku's True Railgun.
"We don't have to do this you know." Denki tells the two girls as they slowly walk towards them. "All you have to do is surrender and this will all be over." The two Ravens took a step back, fear clearly visible in their eyes as 4 of the strongest agents in the history of SWORD approached them
"Guys, stop playing with them." Sabina tells the quartet as the Angels swoop down and drop kick both of them knocking them out.
"And since this technically was a 'Squadron Omega versus Everyone' sort of deal, that puts us as the last group that you guys have to fight." Rachel says as the duo stand up.
"Unfortunately for them, they got played!" Sabina exclaims. "Angel 1! Limit release!" She exclaims as she tries to roundhouse kick Izuku only for him to catch the kick with relative ease. Sabina jets back, landing next to Rachel. "Damn... worth a try. Disengage limit." She orders the suit.
"Really? After what we discussed AND observed?" Rachel asks her partner, smacking her head. "We'd like to surrender, we don't really have a way to win against them, not without harming ourself."
"Alright then, Squadron Omega, Angels, return to base, the medics will look after you. Once they let you go, take the next two days off." Fox tells them. The group nods as they teleport away. "All other agents, return to your posts. We will return and address everyone in some time." Fox orders as the other agents all teleport out of Gym Gamma as well, leaving the UA staff with Fox, Abigail and a few others.
A few hours after all the agents had returned to SWORD, Abigail sat in her office with Fox and Yagi while Nezu sat in via Holo-call.
"So, why am I here?" Yagi asks her.
"One For All." Abigail answers.
"What about it?" He asks.
"Who gets it?"
"I've thought about it. I was initially looking for a successor but I've decided to end the quirks with me." He answers. "At least after remembering my days at SWORD. It's better for the world to forget either of the existed. Besides, the world needs to stand on it's own. We can't have All Might's, Endeavour's and Best Jeanist's carrying the weight of the world every generation."
"You're going to kill All For One the next time you face each other?" Fox asks him.
"It will be mutually assured destruction, but yes." Yagi answers. "But my plan will only work if I have SWORD's help. I have already discussed this with Nezu and he also believes that SWORD's assistance will be the only way."
"And when are you going to tell the others?" Abigail asks him.
"After I got confirmation of SWORD helping us in this mission." Yagi answers.
"Then you've just got it." Abigail answers, pulling out a SWORD letterhead and quickly scribbling an agreement onto it. She hands it to Yagi after signing it.
"Just like that?" Yagi asks her as he reads the contents of the letter. "This just says that SWORD will do anything and everything UA and all related subsidiaries that lie under the direct jurisdiction of one Nezu 'Chimera' Chimerus ask of them till the villain known as All For One has been taken down."
"What else do you need?" Fox asks him.
Yagi stares at the paper and then at Abigail. "This should be fine." He sighs.
"Good. Because for the next few days, you'll be at SWORD. Our doctors will be looking at you and we will be fixing that hole in your stomach." Fox tells him. "You can let the Chimera know. And let anyone else you want to tell know too."
"Why?" Yagi asks them shocked at the proposal.
"Because if you are going to fight All For One, you will need to be at your full strength. We'll also do some mental conditioning with you so you can tune out his taunts." Abigail tells him. "You're not the only one that wants to end that monster."
"And while you're here, we'll go over that plan of yours. Do not leave any detail out." Fox tells him.
"Alright." Yagi sighs.
