I am so sorry for everything Brother

"Tesseract... or your brothers head" the titan began to blackmail the black-haired man that he knew that the other's suffering might somehow result.
Loki was standing in front of Thanos, who was holding Thor's head. The sight alone paralyzed the younger man. Loki looked into Thor's eyes. His brother is strong. Strongest.
"I assume you have a preference." The voice of the caricature brought him out of his thinking, no...more fear than thinking.
He looked into the blond's eyes to make sure his brother was strong enough. Then, looking up at the hideous body, because he couldn't look into Thor's eyes right now, he uttered these few words:
"..i do.." he sighed, trying to pretend to be confident "kill away".
He tried to look at every point other than his brother howling in pain, but without success. He couldn't let Thor die. Tears started streaming down his face as he saw the blonde's condition. It seemed to him that his heart was torn out of his chest, and all the tears turned into streams of blood.
"Enough!!" he yelled, unable to hold back.
He closed his eyes, trying to hide his tears.
"We don't have the Tesseract" Thor sighed heavily "it was destroyed in Asgard".
And at that moment, Loki's heart stopped. Thor doesn't know. Thor doesn't think Loki stole the Tesseract. Thor doesn't suspect his own brother of such a thing. And yet. Loki must have stolen the Tesseract. Thor trusted him. Loki ruined it. He hated himself for it. Nor could he let the Titan kill Thor. He gave his brother a look that wanted to say his "I'm sorry." After a moment, a shiny lump appeared on his palm.
"You're the worst brother brother," Thor uttered with emotion.
The blond threw the words thoughtlessly. he regretted. It hurt the black-haired man, a little, maybe a lot. But he knew he wasn't the best. He took a step forward and fixed his gaze on the (temporarily) one-eyed man.
"I assure you brother, the sun will shine on us again"
Loki didn't know if he was telling the truth, didn't know if there would be any ray of sunshine for them.
"Your optimism is pathetic, Asgardian," the Titan hissed.
"For one thing, I am not asgardian, and for another ... we have the Hulk" he uttered these words quickly and threw himself at his brother, pulling him aside.
Thor hissed in pain.
"Hurts a lot?" Loki asked with tears in his eyes, knowing it was all his fault and his fault alone.
Thor didn't answer, and more blood began to flow from his lips. Loki quickly washed the wounds on his brother's face with his own hand, which now had the blond's blood on it.
"Thor, I-I don't even know what to say." Loki's voice finally broke as he couldn't hold it in any longer. ...
Loki had tears streaming down his cheeks but quickly wiped them away, he didn't want anyone to see him like this, especially Thor. Thor may have been a little angry with his brother for the moment, but the sight of Loki crying hurt him more than any wound on his body.
"Shhh…we don’t have time for this talk right now, okay?"
They sat in silence, but when Thanos had already defeated the Hulk, Loki wanted to attack the Titan by surprise. But Thor stopped him.
"No" he grabbed his hand lightly "I'll go, you stay" he looked with hope "but…" Thor stopped and pull his little brother in a hug. The hug they both needed. Loki was so shocked. Thor sobbed "I am so sorry for everything Loki”.
"I am so sorry too, brother, I am so so sorry" Loki said.
"Everything will be alright, just stay here" Thor pulled away. And he went.
For the first time in his life, Loki didn't see what would happen next, whether they would survive. Thor's scream snapped him out of his thoughts. He saw the reason and froze himself. Thanos killed Heimdall. A tear ran down Loki's cheek. Although he didn't always get along with Heimdall, he felt sorry for him, because he was their friend from Asgard. Thor's mouth was covered by a piece of metal by Maw. Then Thanos gets the Tesseract.
Thor told Loki not to leave, but the black-haired man couldn't leave his brother there alone.
"If I may interject…you're going to earth... you'll need a guide... I have experience in that area".
Thor frowned. Loki betrayed him? No, he had been so worried about him a moment ago.
"If you consider failure as your experience"
"I consider experience as experience"
Loki was terrified, but he played a confident, fearless person.
" I ... Loki, Prince of Asgard ..." he looked at Thor, with that gaze that was too rare and too precious for the blond "Odinson".
The elder was surprised. Loki finally accepted Odin as his own father?
"...... I pledge undying fidelity to you...."
At that moment, a dagger appeared in Loki's hand. Only Thor noticed him.
No, no, no, Thor thought. Loki, he's too powerful.
Too late.
Loki aimed at the Titan's neck, but was stopped by Thanos' gauntlet.
"Undying?" the titan hissed, "you should choose your words better."
He grabbed the god by the neck and lifted him to his height. Thor struggled. Unsuccessfully. Too late. Again. Every part of Loki's body was now squeezed as tight as possible. Tears began to run down his face, soon replaced by blood. Everything hurted him. Every part of the body. Mouth. Nose.
He was running out of air, barely able to get the words out:
"You'll never... never... be... a god..."
And at that moment, Thanos broke the black-haired neck with one move. Loki heard Thor's muffled scream. The Titan threw Loki to the ground, giving the blonde a hostile look.
"There will be no resurrection this time".
After these venomous and painful words for Thor, they were left alone in the ruins of the ship. Thor was freed from the metal seat. Despite his many serious wounds, he crawled to his brother as quickly as possible. He shook him lightly but firmly, and when he saw the injuries on the younger's body, he froze. And then he just sobbed. Too much for him. The death of everyone in the family, and now the death of the person most important to him. Thor felt empty. He lifted his head from his brother's belly and looked at him hopefully.
"Loki, wake up.
The emptiness in the mischief's eyes.
"Loki.."
No reaction.
"Loki," his voice broke.
He had repeated his name for the twentieth or hundredth time.
Knowing that the ship was about to explode, he embraced his brother.
"I am sorry for being the worst brother".
