Note
Hi :) Thanks for reading.

It had been four years since the agonising event had occurred. Four years since Frigga had passed on to Valhalla, and four years since your best friend, your accomplice in crime, the Dark Prince, Loki Laufeyson of Asgard had abandoned you.

Four years since Kurse stabbed him. Four years since he had looked you in the eye, his eyes filled with an emotion you couldn't quite decipher, and four years since he had murmured his last words, a confession which you cherished forever, yet one which haunted you as well...

"I love you.."

He had apologized, too, but how could you forgive him? How could you forgive him for making you fall in love with him, and then leaving you all alone to fend for yourself in this world? All you had known growing up was him, he had wholly influenced your being. And now, within the blink of an eye, he was gone. For the second time.

It hurt, it hurt so much and you gave up trying to push the feeling away. You emptied your eyes of all the tears. You abandoned everything and started permanently residing in Midgard.

And now, four years later, Thor was standing in your kitchen. He wanted you to visit Asgard with him.

"No, Thor, I can't just abandon my life on earth!"

"Oh please, Lady Y/n. It would hurt too much to go to Asgard alone. Besides, I don't wish to face father alone. Who knows what action of mine would've angered him throughout these years?"

"But Thor-"

"Please," Thor gave you the puppy eyes.

"Oh no you don't. Do not give me the puppy eyes, mister. Did Peter teach you that? He probably did."

"I adore the spider-child. He taught me this trick to enable me to convince others for anything! Can you believe that a facial expression could be so useful?"

"Don't we all love Pete," You smiled. "Okay, alright I yield. I'll visit Asgard with you. Just- I won't stay there. The place holds too many memories of Loki," a teardrop escaped your eye at the bittersweet flashbacks.

Thor was visibly saddened by your remark, similar memories flashing through his mind. The subject of his brother's demise was not one that was brought up often. It was a delicate matter, one that had left a scar on his and your heart forever. So, instead of saying anything, he gave you a bone crushing hug.

--------------------

Upon seeing the crowd which had gathered for an occasion of sorts as soon as they landed in Asgard, both Thor and you were extremely confused. And then-

"What the hell is that?" Thor muttered, while you also stared at the statue of ...Loki?!

Odin wasn't happy at Loki's demise, but he wouldn't go to such lengths to show his affection for his younger, adoptive son, would he? Was the man really coming to his senses and actually appreciating Loki for once?

You were made more confused as the sound of a choir group singing reached your ears. You shared a look with Thor and made your way to the source of the attraction responsible for gathering this many people, coincidentally, the source of the sound.

A play? Odin laying on a sofa, eating grapes? Further confusing still, a play depicting Loki's 'grand' sacrifice? What in the Norns?!

The actor playing Loki was pretending to, well, die, in the play, and the actor playing Thor was holding him close. But right next to the two actors was an actress who seemed to be playing you.

The scene was almost exactly the same as it had played out in real life. In that moment, the realization dawned upon you, and a mix of emotions threatened to overcome your sense of logic.

But Thor reacted first.

As soon as the play ended, the crowd exploded in cheers, and Thor addressed 'Odin'.

"Father?"

"Oh shit-" He hadn't intended for you both to hear him, yet you did.

"My son Thor has returned, greetings my boy!" The crowd cheered some more. By now, you were only seeing red.

"Interesting play, what's it called?" Thor asked with a raised eyebrow. Any moment now, and you would actually kill 'Odin'.

"The Tragedy Of Loki Of Asgard, people uh, wanted to commemorate him."

"Ah, indeed they should. Well I like the statue. Lot better looking than he was alive.  A little less weasley, less greasy, maybe."

Odin laughed nervously, and he looked a bit offended.

"D'you know what this is?" Thor asked Odin, raising Surtur's skull.

"Ooh the skull of Surtur, that's a formidable weapon," Odin chuckled.

"Do me a favor, lock this away in the vaults so it doesn't turn into a giant monster and destroy the whole planet." Thor instructed a royal guard.

"So it's uh, back to Midgard for you, isn't it?" 'Odin' inquired.

"Nope. I've been having this reoccurring dream lately. Every night I see Asgard fall into ruins." Thor replied, tossing mjolnir and then catching it.

"That's just a silly dream-"

You had had enough.

"All father, pardon me for my misgivings, yet I'm afraid I must interlude with your activities." You made your presence known and said, through clenched teeth.

"OH uh Y/n! I wasn't made aware you'd both visit but- Yes, absolutely. Have your say."

"See, thing is, I have always been good at sorcery. And dare I say, I had a good teacher. Y'know, I think I'm capable enough to spot an illusion when I see one, don't you reckon?"

"I- I don't doubt your capabilities."

At this point, you had walked upto Odin. You then suddenly grabbed him by his neck and put your dagger at his throat.

"Then I'm afraid you must know for a fact that your trickery and illusions never fooled me, darling," You finished and barely restrained yourself at lashing out at everyone as your anger had gotten the best of you.

And 'Odin' knew that you were now blinded with fury, and any attempts at lessening your rage would go futile.

He was doomed.

Thor smirked as he witnessed this interaction, as Odin muttered a quick yet audible,"Alright, I YIELD!" and the illusion was cast off, revealing Loki.

You let go of Loki and he stumbled forward due to the momentum of your action. And then he had the audacity to look at you apologetically.

"BEHOLD- THOR, ODINSON, AND Y/N-"

"No no." Loki snapped his fingers, and turned around to face the man responsible for the exclamation,"You had one job."

"Just the one." And then Loki turned back to Thor, who said, "Where's Odin?"

"You just couldn't stay away, could you? Everything was fine without you. Asgard was prospering. You've ruined everything. Ask them, and Y/n I swear to Norns I am SO sorry-"

"Where's father? Did you kill him?" Thor strode towards Loki and Loki kept going backwards.

"You have what you wanted, you have the independence that you asked for- OW OW OW OW- OKAY, I know exactly where he is," Loki gave in as Thor pressed mjolnir to his chest. Thor then released him from his current predicament.

The real storm was not yet here.

"Y/n." Loki attempted to reach out to you, but you sent such a glare in his direction that he shut up immediately.

You turned your back to him and strode away. People got out of your way, not wanting to be the target of your anger.

"Go after her, but beware, for I fear she might slay you. You have quite successfully angered her and brought upon impending doom on yourself, brother," Thor commented.

-------------------------

As you made your way to the one spot in the royal gardens where you knew only one person would care to search for you, which was behind a bunch of bushes, you were aware of Loki following you. He wasn't trying to keep his presence a secret.

"Y/n, please, listen to me! I'm so so sorry, I-"

"SHUT UP," you burst out, turning around to face him. "Shut up. You have no right to apologize. None. I hate you!," and with that, you crashed your lips to his. He reciprocated eagerly, deepening the kiss, and you wrapped you arms around his waist. He did the same, but before anything else could happen, you pulled away, tears now streaking down your face. He looked at you, shocked at your boldness, but before he could make a silly remark, pretending that things were back to normal, you slapped him.

"Ow, I deserved that," he made an unsuccessful attempt at a joke.

"Yes you did. WHY did you pretend to be dead for FOUR ENTIRE YEARS? DO YOU HAVE ANY FUCKING IDEA HOW MUCH I MISSED YOU? EVERY SINGLE DAY I THOUGHT BACK TO YOUR 'LAST WORDS'. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IF YOU MEANT THEM! AND EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUST ABANDON ME LIKE THAT. WHATEVER PLAN YOU CONCOCT, I SHOULD BE AWARE OF, LOKI LAUFEYSON!" You let it all out, and by the end of your little lecture, Loki had once again pulled you in for a kiss.

"I just missed you so much," you mumbled, offering no resistance to (now you were sure) the love of your life.

"I missed you too, darling. I am so very sorry, I beg you for forgiveness- and of course I meant those words! I'll never, ever, commit such a deed again, I swear by the Norns. I love you," Loki looked deep into your eyes, and you saw that he was being genuine with you.

"I love you too, Loki. But I swear by the Norns, too, that if you ever die on me again, I will travel to the depths of hell to bring your soul back, resurrect you, and then kill you myself."

"What if you only resurrect me and do none of the rest-"

"Shut up," you mumbled, pulling him in for a hug, a command which he happily obliged to. Together you two stood, in each other's embraces, enjoying the moment.

Four years ago, you had lost your everything. Today, you found him back.
