Season 1 Episode 12 - The Right Choice.
Two days later:
The team returned from Indiana.
So, the skirmish was a success. Said Dean.
You could say that. Said Ward.
No calls or messages from Sam? Asked Colson.
No, nothing, no answer to my calls. Answered Dean.
I'm getting worried. Said Fitz.
Yeah, I shouldn't have let him go alone. Said May.
Meanwhile: Sam was walking along the highway.
Along the way, he bumped into a girl, clearly waiting for a ride.
Hey. Sam called out to her, she didn't respond, so he walked over and touched her shoulder, and she bounced off him.
How you scared me. Said the girl.
I'm sorry, I... I thought I might need some help. Said Sam.
No, I'm fine, thank you. Said the Girl.
Where are you going? Sam asked.
No offense, but I'm not telling. Girl answered.
Why not? Sam asked.
I wonder if you're some kind of weirdo. Hitchhiking. Girl answered.
So are you. Said Sam with a smile on his face.
At that moment the van pulled up.
Want a ride? Asked the driver.
Yes. They said at the same time.
Just her. I won't take you Driver said, at that moment the girl got into the van.
You believe this maniac, but not me? Sam asked.
Definitely. The girl answered, and then the van drove off.
Meanwhile at the base: Colson got another message on his phone, but this time with different coordinates, plus from a different number, so he called a meeting.
Are you sure it's not another trap? Barry asked.
It's a trap, the demons really want to split us up and take us down one by one. Colson answered.
Alright, what's the plan? Skye asked.
Well, honestly, why don't we just stay here? Dean suggested.
That's an idea, let's have a day off, why lie in an obvious trap. Added Ward.
I agree. Said Barry.
Okay, so let's take a day off. Said Colson.
They had no idea that their enemies were already watching them.
Meanwhile, Sam made it to the bus station.
I'm sorry, the bus to Sacramento isn't until tomorrow. В 17:05. Told him the woman at the front desk.
Tomorrow? Is there another option? Sam asked.
There is. Buy a car. Said the woman, Sam stepped back, he thought about calling Dean, but changed his mind.
Hey. A familiar voice was heard, and Sam saw the girl he'd seen on the road.
Hi. Said Sam.
There you are again. Said the girl.
What about that van? Sam asked.
You were right. Damn maniac. He started hitting on me. I blew him off. The girl answered, and Sam started to look around, thinking he might be followed by demons.
What's wrong? Girl asked.
Making my way to California. Sam answered.
Are you kidding? Girl asked.
No. Sam answered.
And I'm going that way. You know, the next bus isn't until tomorrow. Said the girl.
Yeah. That's the thing. Said Sam.
Why? What's so important? Girl asked.
Something I've been looking for. Sam answered.
Then it can wait another day, right? Girl asked.
I'm Meg. Said the Girl.
Sam. Sam replied, and they shook hands.
Meanwhile at the base:
Everyone was going about their business.
Okay, I'm gonna go to the store and get some food. Said Dean, after which he got in his car and drove off.
At that moment, smoke came out of the vents at the base.
Didn't they clean the vents? Barry asked, and then everyone started passing out.
Oh, man. Colson said, and then he blacked out, too.
That's when the gas masks came in.
It worked. Said one of them on the radio.
Meanwhile: Sam and Meg were sitting and chatting.
So, are you on vacation or on vacation? Sam asked.
Yeah, that's right. Sipping champagne by the pool. Meg joked, and Sam grinned.
No. I just... Couldn't stay home. Meg answered.
Why? Sam asked.
I love my parents. And they wished me well. Except they didn't ask me. I'm supposed to be smart, but not smart enough to scare away suitors. No... I mean... They told me to do this and do that and left me no choice. And I chose to live my life. Meg answered, and Sam understood her perfectly.
I'm sorry. That's a lot of things to say to a stranger. Said Meg.
No, no. It's okay, I know what you mean. Remember I told you about the brother I was traveling with? Sam asked, and Meg nodded.
I have the same story with him. Said Sam.
Is that why you're not with him now? Asked Meg, Sam nodded, Meg picked up a bottle of beer.
Here's to us, may the food not be good and the bed rough, but we live the life we want. Not someone else. Said Meg, they cheeked and drank.
Meanwhile: Dean returned to the base, and found that everyone had been taken prisoner.
Crap. Whispered Dean.
After a while, Dean called Sam, and this time he picked up the phone.
Dean filled Sam in.
All of us got knocked out, by some kind of gas, were they demons? Sam asked.
Funny thing is, no, it's just regular people. Dean answered.
But they didn't kill anybody? Sam asked.
No. Why, I don't know. Dean answered.
So the demons aren't the only ones who want them alive. Sam concluded.
Yeah, we're screwed. Said Dean.
Why do you think they want them? Sam asked.
That's a good question. Dean answered.
What are you planning to do? Sam asked.
I don't know yet, I'm working on a rescue plan. Dean answered.
If you need my help... Ask for it. Said Sam.
I don't need anything. I just... I just want you to know... You don't think that... Dean started talking.
Yeah, I'm sorry, too. Said Sam.
Sam. You were right. You have your business, you have your life. Said Dean.
Are you serious? Sam asked.
You always knew what you wanted, so go for it. You never gave in to your dad. You always have. If I could just... Anyway... I admire you. I'm proud of you. Said Dean.
I don't even know what to say. Said Sam.
Say you'll take care of yourself. Said Dean.
I will. Said Sam.
Call me when you find dad. Said Dean.
Yeah, bye Dean. Said Sam, after which they both hung up.
At that moment, Meg came up to Sam.
Who was that? Meg asked.
My brother. Sam answered.
What did he say? Asked Meg.
Goodbye. Sam answered.
Back at the base, meanwhile, the team was starting to wake up.
Who's up, people? Barry asked.
Yeah, pretty much okay. Ward answered, at which point their captors entered the room.
Don't be afraid of us. Said one of them, and spritzed salt all over himself.
You're not demons. Said May.
Yeah, we're just people, regular people, but we work with demons, and we know the three of you are their targets. Said the Man.
Wait, I see two, where's the third? Asked the other man.
The Winchesters are gone, well we'll wait and then we'll catch them and give them to the demons, they'll give us a generous reward. Man replied.
Meanwhile: Bus station.
Hey, our bus. Said Meg.
You go. I can't. Said Sam.
Where are you going? Asked Meg.
To the base. Sam answered, then started to walk away.
Sam? Wait. Meg asked.
I've been trying to call my brother for three hours. There's no answer on the phone. Sam said.
Maybe he turned it off. Suggested Meg.
He doesn't do that, Meg he and my friends are in trouble and I know it. Said Sam.
What kind of trouble? Meg asked.
It's hard for me to explain to you. I'm sorry. Don't be late for the bus. Sam answered.
But, I don't understand... You're running back to your brother? The one you ran away from? Why? Because he's not picking up the phone? Asked Meg, Sam didn't answer.
Sam. Come with me to California. Said Meg.
I can't. I'm sorry. Said Sam.
Why? Asked Meg.
We're family. Sam answered, then left.
Three hours later: Dean was sitting near the base thinking about a plan.
Dean? Asked Sam, who came over here.
Forget everything I said. It's so good to see you. How'd you get here? Dean asked.
Я... Stole a car. Sam answered.
My school! Said Dean.
So, do you have some kind of plan? Sam asked.
Well, they're regular people, so regular guns are enough for them. Dean answered.
Are you suggesting we go in there and shoot everyone? Sam asked.
Sort of, but quietly. Dean answered.
Do you know how many of them are in there? Sam asked.
Three at the base, five gone. Dean answered.
All right, we'll kill two and leave one behind and get the information. Said Sam.
Whatever you say. Said Dean, after which they quietly started walking toward the base.
Once they got into the base, they took out their knives and walked over to the computer, where Dean had a Skillet song called Monster on full blast.
Who turned on the music? Asked one of them.
Spread out, we have a break-in. Said one of them.
At this point they came out of the room where they were holding the team.
They started to check the whole base, but suddenly a knife came at one of them and a bullet came at the other.
Sam and Dean came out of hiding and took a shot at the latter.
So, we got a serious talk for you. Said Dean.
