Season 1 Episode 1 - Prologue
To understand my story, you have to do something, you have to believe in the impossible, can you? That's great. The voice-over is by Barry Allen.
Starling City: May 2013.
Barry Allen has come to Starling City to find the man they call the Hood.
He had been investigating for a long time, after which he found out that this man is Oliver Queen, as a result Barry immediately went to the Queen incorpareten building to ask where to look for Oliver.
Once inside the building, he saw the man in the hood fighting the gangsters.
The Hood was fighting like a pro, but they were trivializing the numbers.
Barry decided to intervene, he took a lamp that was lying nearby and hit one on the head, while they were distracted the Hood got up and then shot at them with his bow, the arrows came at their feet.
Barry met the Hood's gaze, he recognized the Hood as Oliver Queen.
Oliver Queen? Barry asked, whereupon the Hood knocked him out and picked him up, then carried him somewhere.
Two hours later:
Barry began to wake up, then saw Oliver sitting in front of him, his suspicions justified.
So it's true. Said Barry.
Good morning. Said Oliver, after which he went to the table.
We have to talk. Said Oliver, after which Barry went to the table as well.
So, I heard you were looking for me. Said Oliver.
What do you mean? Barry asked.
I checked your papers, Barry Allen I guess. I dug up everything I could on you, and my question is, what do you need me for? Asked Oliver.
Perhaps you can provide answers to my questions. Barry answered.
Okay, go ahead and ask. Said Oliver.
To understand the context of the question, I have to tell you my story. Said Barry.
Tell it. Said Oliver, Barry sighed heavily and began to tell.
When I was eleven, my mother was killed. It was late, I got woken up by a noise and I went downstairs and... I saw what looked like ball lightning. There was a man inside that lightning bolt. He killed my mother. My father was arrested, he's in Iron Heights for killing her. And the cops and the doctors... Everyone says I couldn't have seen it. And then just a year ago, aliens attacked New York City. The Avengers are proof that the supernatural exists. Said Barry, Oliver thought about his words.
Maybe you're right, but I have a question, why do you think I'm the answer to your question? Oliver asked.
Just a guess, but not the right one. Barry answered.
You helped me, for someone who obviously has no combat experience, you're quite brave. Said Oliver.
So? Barry asked.
Well, I could train you, and then maybe give you a referral. Oliver answered, Barry hesitated at his words.
So, are you okay with that? Oliver asked.
Yes, Barry answered.
After that Oliver trained Barry for three months, Oliver taught him a couple of his tricks, as well as how to fight.
At some point Barry was able to fight on equal terms with Oliver.
That's not bad. Said Oliver.
What's next? Barry asked.
Your training is over. Said Oliver.
What? Asked Barry.
Now, as I promised, I'll give you a direction. Oliver answered.
What is it? Barry asked.
I called the Shield Service, and recommended you to them. Maybe that's where you'll find the answers to your questions. Oliver answered.
The Shield, I've heard of them. Barry said.
That's good, they know more secrets than you or I. Said Oliver.
Ok, where do you want me to go? Barry asked.
I sent you the coordinates on your phone, so you'll understand. Oliver answered, after which he wanted to leave.
Oliver. Barry called out to him.
What?" Oliver asked.
I wanted to say thank you. Barry answered.
You're welcome. Said Oliver, and then left the bunker.
Barry started to pack his things, then he punched in the coordinates that pointed to New York, that's where he went.
3 days later: Barry got to New York, then drove to the rendezvous point where he saw two Shield agents waiting for him.
Barry Allen? Asked one of the agents.
Yeah, that's me. Barry answered.
All right, follow me. Said the Agent, after which all three got into a car and drove to one of the shield bases.
Two hours later they reached the base.
They took Barry into one of the rooms where a man who looked about 50 was waiting for him.
Barry Allen? He asked.
Yes. Barry answered.
I'm Agent Phil Coulson, have a seat and we have a lot to discuss. He said.
